Is America Under the Judgment of God?

Has God already passed sentence on America?  Is it over?GodBlessAmerica

Dear Friend,

Does this mean that it is over for America?  It is easy to imagine that we are under the judgment of God. Call it judgment, calamity whatever there is definitely something going on here that is shocking, widespread and inexplicable even to the experts.

We feel a pall hanging our us that feels incurable.

You and I have endured 4 years of mind-boggling horror. Because of this, a question burns within us. This question affects everyone we love and all of our plans for the future.  Has God passed sentence on America? Is judgment finally here?  Are we about to be destroyed by disasters at home and enemies abroad?

Those who say that God is dismantling America make a strong argument.  Here are but a few of the indelible stains on our national soul:

-We harvest the unborn through abortion in a way that could make Hitler blush.  There was even a blasphemous video that celebrated the 55 million abortions as part of the 40 year anniversary of Roe versus Wade.

-With appalling arrogance our government rages against the Godly heritage that made America unique and great.  They have called out the church on marriage, freedom of worship, freedom of speech and display open contempt for the Christian faith.

-America is the top exporter of porn films that ooze sadism and filth upon our youth.  Then, gun-for-hire “experts” tell us that this media sewage is harmless to our children.

No one true servant of God can deny that there is a direct connection between our sin and the misery of today, but I do not believe this is judgment.  it is not final judgment. Here is what judgment looks like to me:

1. Divine Destruction is always preceded by direct and dire warnings from prophets of God.

2. God removes the innocent.

3. It is sudden and complete. Sodom’s incineration left no doubt and neither did Noah’s flood. Throughout scripture, God has made His Hand of destruction clear to onlookers.

If the multiple calamities and trials in our nation are not judgment that what are they?

Here is what is going on:

1. What we are seeing is a surgical correction where some are getting wrath as others get protection.  It is a preemptive strike meant to restore our Christian roots.

Isaiah 3:10, and 11 says, “Say to the righteous that it shall be well with them, for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.  Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with him, for the reward of his hands shall be given him.”

Isaiah also describes a time of simultaneous wrath and blessing: Isaiah 60:1-3 “Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.  For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; But the LORD will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.”

Now listen very carefully:  Within weeks of the time I write this to you flare-ups of revival will hit places in our nation that you would not believe was possible.  Look for reports in this blog about some amazing developments in Northern California!

Now I want to offer you the proof that God is not destroying American but means to revive her.

God would have spared Sodom and Gomorrah for just twelve righteous people.  If God would have spared Sodom and Gomorrah for twelve righteous people then how much more will God spare millions of righteous Americans?  Millions of Americans are fervently praying for revival.  God will not ignore their cry or His promise.

But Mario we are getting many dire warnings from some very credible people.  What do we make of this?

The encounter between Paul and Agabus the prophet gives us our model for facing such dire predictions:  Acts 21:11- 14 “When he had come to us, he took Paul’s belt, bound his own hands and feet, and said, “Thus says the Holy Spirit, ‘So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man who owns this belt, and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’” Now when we heard these things, both we and those from that place pleaded with him not to go up to Jerusalem.  Then Paul answered, “What do you mean by weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.” So when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, “The will of the Lord be done.”

Here is the key: Paul did not dismiss the prophet’s warning but neither did he allow his prophecy to become an excuse to let up.

Dire predictions should not stop us but launch us forward greater than ever!

We must seize the crisis for the Glory of God!  We must not hide, slow down or diminish our dreams.   You will miss the great anointing that God will grant to every one of His soldiers in the hour of testing!  You would be sidelined in the church’s finest hour; when God will shock the world by turning this entire calamity into a great revival and restoration of America!

We need a formula for national repentance: Hezekiah demonstrated the kind of leadership we need in the church today.  He was not afraid to lay the blame squarely on the shoulders of the leaders of Israel for their national crisis. 2 Chronicles 29:6-10 says, “6 For our fathers have trespassed and done evil in the eyes of the Lord our God; they have forsaken Him, have turned their faces away from the welling place of the Lord, and turned their backs on Him. 9 For indeed, because of this jour fathers have fallen by the sword; and our sons, our daughters, and our wives are in captivity.

Only by the selfless acts of leaders can we see national revival.  If there is a correction on the Church it is coming through persecution.  Persecution shows us how petty and insignificant our divisions are and how majestic our common ground really is.

Hezekiah’s model is this: (a) he made the connection between sin and crisis.  (b) He ordered the leadership to clean up their act and (c) he made a covenant with God to remove the crisis.

Instead of trying of trying to sustain celebrity our spiritual leaders need to unify the church in repentance and prayer. They must rally all believers to call out to God for a fresh covenant of mercy.

2. During these disasters the Church must shine.  Stop all of the speculation about judgment.  Once again, so many in the church put their worst foot forward.  They look intolerant and unfeeling.

Never has the opportunity been greater to help our fellow Americans.  If we do not do help people now when we will ever do it? If the Body of Christ shuts its ears to the cry of so many who suffer and I mean many, what would God do?

Compassion is not an impulsive fad.  Our mission must be long range and long term. We must be sincere and convincing.  No one who reads this can tell me that there is nothing they can do.  You are only a prayer away from divine guidance! You are but a phone call away from

being a part of your local miracle.

If we shine right now, the harvest could be the greatest in our entire history!  Our compassion would be the most devastating rebuke to the anti Christian media!

Let the Army of God stand up and March! The greatest dividend of submitting to the Holy Spirit is that He will build an army. This is no mere collection of believers but true freedom fighters of the Holy Spirit.  They wrestle not with flesh and blood. They do not break ranks.  They are not feeling-based.  Signs and wonders flash from their hands.  They walk in power. God gives them a voice that no one can refute.  They penetrate the hell holes and extract treasures from darkness!

Good article Mario. Great points. By the way, am I the only one that has a problem with the Harbinger book and movie? It is written by a Rabbi and Christians everywhere are going gaa-gaa over this book, even when….it appears that this Rabbi author has little discernment over the reconciliation ministry of Jesus and the Church and the fact that God has called the war between God and man off, and He did it outside Bethlehem to a group of shepherds on the night of the birth of the one who took our judgement upon Himself so that judgement would no longer have to fall upon us. Is it possible that the Rabbi and these believers confuse sowing and reaping with God’s judgement? I have one thing to say to the fans of this book and the Rabbi: “peace on earth good will towards men.”
