Diane Feinstein and Episcopal Priest pit NRA against Jesus. Introduces major gun control bill.

Official liberal rules:  It is only okay to violate our view of separation of church and state when the prayer and subject match liberal policy.  It is fine to invoke Jesus so long is He is also on the side of our policy.  The only time you can say  a group is against the Cross is when we do it.  Expect to hear nothing from ACLU or People for the American Way.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein opens up anti-gun presser with a prayer

January 24, 2013 | 11:16 am

“As Sen. Diane Feinstein opened her press conference on gun control, she invited Dean of the National Cathedral Rev. Canon Gary Hall to offer a prayer.

Hall spoke briefly before the prayer, calling for Washington legislators to stop fearing the gun lobby and fulfill their “moral duty” to restrict guns.

“Everyone in this city seems to live in terror of the gun lobby,” Hall said. “But I believe that the gun lobby is no match for the cross lobby.”

Hall said that he could no longer justify a society that allowed ordinary citizens to keep and bear “assault weapons.”

During the prayer, Hall asked God to “bless our elected leaders with the wisdom and the courage needed to bring about the changes that the people demand.”

Blog Editor’s note:  The same hypocrisy that afflicts Washington politicians afflicts Ms. Feinstein.    Armed guards protect their children at private schools while they condemn the NRA plan for the rest of our children to have the same protection.   As mayor of San Francisco she enacted a law against carrying concealed handguns.  She was caught with one herself but was not charged because she was mayor.

  1. Why doesn’t the good reverend offer up some prayer for the millions of babies that have been and continue to be aborted? We’re talking MILLIONS…not a few hundred! All life is sacred, so why the emphasis on guns, when it is the mentally deranged that are causing the problem, and not the law-abiding gun owner. Attack the problem at the root – don’t attempt to apply a band aid that will do absolutely NO good to alleviate the problem!

  2. I sent this email to dean@cathedral.org

    Dear Reverend Hall:

I’m not the least bit supportive of yours and Senator Feinstein’s efforts at gun control. You would be better off using your “cross lobby” to lobby against the millions of babies that are aborted every year in the United States. That is more the platform of what a Reverend should be doing. The fact that you’re silent on the killing of millions of babies each year tells me you have no credibility as a Reverend.

As far as trying to work against violence, I think you should look to the entertainment industry for their incredible violent depictions of one human against another. Naturally for the sane amongst us, this is not a problem. We know the difference between the screen and real life, but that may not necessarily be so for the mentally disturbed amongst us. I would also look to the pharmaceutical industry that medicates our young. I’m not a doctor, but my common sense tells me that there has to be ramifications to medicating the young the way we do.

Gun control is just an easy out for politicians pretending they care about this problem. They’d rather deal with “the little people” than the well-financed entertainment industry and the well-financed pharmaceutical industry. All the while the celebrities and politicians are sending their children to schools that have armed protection and they themselves have armed bodyguards that protect themselves and their families. When “the little people” want to protect themselves, the elite seem to have a problem with that. Well, the elite amongst us are not going to tell us how to live anymore.
