MSNBC: ‘Bona Fide Organ of State Propaganda’

MSNBC, With Ex-Obama Aides, Now Almost ‘A Bona Fide Organ of State Propaganda’

MSNBC has long been as bad as Fox News when it comes to ideological bias. But with the hiring of longtime Team Obama loyalists David Axelrod and Robert Gibbs, it’s official: MSNBC is worse.

The cable channel that flies under the banner of NBC News is now all but a bona fide organ of state propaganda, an information channel that speaks in the same dominant voice as the folks running the government–and tries to mask what it is up to.

I didn’t plan on getting all free-press-and-democracy amped up about the hirings until I saw Axelrod with Andrea Mitchell last week in his first appearance on MSNBC. It was Echo Chamber Politics 101 with Axelrod characterizing some Republicans in Congress as irrationally wanting the draconian cuts of the sequester –as “dangerous” as that thinking is.

Mitchell starts out a remote interview with Axelrod, who was in Chicago, by asking about the sequester set to take effect Friday.

“Remember,” he says, “the cuts put into place were so odious it was thought no rational legislator, no rational government official, would allow it to happen.”

As Mitchell starts to pivot to another issue with a new question, Axelrod interrupts her with, “One more thing, Andrea. There is a belief among some Republicans in Congress that maybe this sequester’s all right. Maybe this is another way of shrinking government in a dramatic way. That’s a dangerous idea, but it’s not uncommon in some quarters on Capitol Hill.”

“No doubt,” Mitchell says, placing a cherry atop this propaganda sundae.

Rhetorical Criticism 101:  Republican members of Congress are not rational, they have “dangerous” thoughts and they do “odious” things to the American people.

What is this if not exactly the spin Team Obama seemed to be working on all week? And the White House doesn’t even have to bring in a bunch of out-of-town anchormen for quickie interviews with Obama so that they can carry his message back to their local audiences in the heartland.

Now the message can go forth from the president’s mouth straight to our ears–via Axelrod, the so-called analyst, and MSNBC, the so-called news channel.

That is, by the way, the sane, reasonable, trustworthy president who is working around the clock to avoid sequestration and the hardships that the alleged GOP champions of it in Congress would wreak on American life come Friday.

Howard Kurtz, Washington bureau chief for Newsweek and The Daily Beast, interviewed Axelrod and Gibbs about their new jobs. Both denied they would show bias or be surrogates for the president.

“I don’t see it either as being a cheerleader for the president or as a spokesman for the administration’s point of view,” Gibbs told Kurtz.

“My role is not that of a surrogate, but an analyst and commentator,” Axelrod said. “I’m proud of my work for and with the president. But in this role, I will offer observations, based on my experience over 35 years in journalism and politics, and will call them as I see them.”

In fairness, Axelrod didn’t exactly serve as what Gibbs called a “spokesman for the administration’s point of view” in his first at bat for MSNBC.

He wasn’t that honest.

A spokesman is, at least, transparent about what she or he is up to– serving the interests of the person for whom she or he speaks.

As a senior Obama campaign strategist, Axelrod worked in as rarefied a realm as there is in Democratic electoral politics. But what makes him an expert on what some Republicans in Congress feel or don’t feel about the sequester and what kind of “dangerous” thoughts they hold? Why give him the floor to expound on that, and then slam-dunk his answer with a big “no doubt”?

No, the information that he insisted on imparting to Mitchell is the same kind of oppositional attack-dog stuff Axelrod and Gibbs did when they were on the president’s payroll and went on Sunday morning TV shows to attack Mitt Romney. Or how about the campaign they helped lead in 2009 to discredit Fox News?

And now, they are part of the “team,” as Mitchell put it, that competes with Fox – and serves as  TV mouthpiece for the White House.

Obama threatens those that write anything against him.

WMAL EXCLUSIVE: Woodward’s Not Alone – Fmr. Clinton Aide Davis Says He Received White House Threat

February 28, 2013

WASHINGTON — Bob Woodward isn’t the only person who’s received threats for airing the Obama administration’s dirty laundry.  It seems anyone is a potential target of the White House these days – even former senior members of the Clinton administration.

A day after Woodward’s claim that a senior White House official had told him he would “regret” writing a column criticizing President Obama’s stance on the sequester, Lanny Davis, a longtime close advisor to President Bill Clinton, told WMAL’s Mornings on the Mall Thursday he had received similar threats for newspaper columns he had written about Obama in the Washington Times.

Davis told WMAL that his editor, John Solomon, “received a phone call from a senior Obama White House official who didn’t like some of my columns, even though I’m a supporter of Obama. I couldn’t imagine why this call was made.”  Davis says the Obama aide told Solomon, “that if he continued to run my columns, he would lose, or his reporters would lose their White House credentials.”

Davis says he does not know if the White House official involved in his case is the same one who is alleged to have threatened Woodward, but he says the language used in both cases is very similar.  In any case, Davis says his editor, Solomon, was not worried by the threat.

“He didn’t take it seriously, because he didn’t think that could ever happen.  He thought it was bluster,” Davis told WMAL. “I called three senior people at the White House, and I said, ‘I want this person to be told this can never happen again, and it’s inappropriate.’  I got a call back from someone who was in the White House saying it will never happen again.”

BOB WOODWARD: A ‘Very Senior’ White House Person

Warned Me I’d ‘Regret’ What I’m Doing

Bob Woodward said this evening on CNN that a “very senior person” at the White House warned him in an email that he would “regret doing this,” the same day he has continued to slam President Barack Obama over the looming forced cuts known as the sequester.

CNN host Wolf Blitzer said that the network invited a White House official to debate Woodward on-air, but the White House declined.

“I think they’re confused,” Woodward said of the White House’s pushback on his reporting.

Earlier today on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Woodward ripped into Obama in what has become an ongoing feud between the veteran Washington Post journalist and the White House. Woodward said Obama was showing a “kind of madness I haven’t seen in a long time” for a decision not to deploy an aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf because of budget concerns.

The Defense Department said in early February that it would not deploy the U.S.S. Harry Truman to the Persian Gulf, citing budget concerns relating to the looming cuts known as the sequester.

“Can you imagine Ronald Reagan sitting there and saying, ‘Oh, by the way, I can’t do this because of some budget document?'” Woodward said on MSNBC.

“Or George W. Bush saying, ‘You know, I’m not going to invade Iraq because I can’t get the aircraft carriers I need?'” Or even Bill Clinton saying, ‘You know, I’m not going to attack Saddam Hussein’s intelligence headquarters,’ … because of some budget document?”

Woodward began stirring controversy last weekend, when he called out Obama for what he said was “moving the goal posts” on the sequester by requesting that revenue be part of a deal to avert it.

Woodward: Obama’s Decision Not To Deploy Carrier “A Kind Of Madness”

Bob Woodward blasted President Obama on Wednesday morning for deciding to recall an aircraft carrier from the Persian Gulf because of impending budget cuts, calling the decision “a kind of madness.”

Woodward: Can you imagine Ronald Reagan sitting there and saying ‘Oh, by the way, I can’t do this because of some budget document?’ Or George W. Bush saying, ‘You know, I’m not going to invade Iraq because I can’t get the aircraft carriers I need’ or even Bill Clinton saying, ‘You know, I’m not going to attack Saddam Hussein’s intelligence headquarters,’ as he did when Clinton was president because of some budget document? Under the Constitution, the president is commander-in-chief and employs the force. And so we now have the president going out because of this piece of paper and this agreement, I can’t do what I need to do to protect the country. That’s a kind of madness that I haven’t seen in a long time.

Time to pray the madman out!  By Mario Murillo

This is a moment of madness.  Obama like Nero of Rome has lost his mind.  He wants to keep spending and raise taxes this bad?  So bad in fact that he is pouting  refusing to deploy an Aircraft Carrier  to the Persian Gulf where it would stand as a deterrent to Iran and protector of Israel.

Daily he has fed us lies about what the SEQUESTER would do but to do this????  For those who have been under a rock let me explain that Obama came up with the idea of automatic spending cuts if he did not reach an agreement with Republicans by March.   Then he refused to negotiate in good faith for spending cuts.  At the last moment he turns the tables and blames the Republicans for not reaching an agreement and then he begins lying about the damage that the automatic cuts would do.  All this so he can keep spending and raising taxes.

Now in a dangerous game of chicken, he recalls an Aircraft Carrier.   He disregards human life in his quest for power.

People ask me, “Mario, are you praying for our president?”  Yes I am.  I am praying him out of office. “But Mario, why don’t you pray for God to change his heart?”  I am, but I want God to change his heart when he is out of office and facing the consequences of his abuse of power.  If a pilot is drunk in the cockpit I am not going to pray for a change of heart.  Get him out of the cockpit and then pray for repentance.

A few days ago, Obama essentially fired the American news media.  He is done answering questions.  We can understand that the media is not going to do anything about this.  Like battered wives they still love Obama.  So in my prayers I am moving on to another target.

Here is my prayer over this situation:  Today I am asking God to do a miracle in Democratic leaders in the Senate and the House.  I am asking for them to grow a conscience and to force this madman out of office before he destroys this nation.  We do not need to impeach Obama we need to fire him.

How can you as a democratic leader sleep at night knowing you are condoning this man’s outright evil?  How can you look in the mirror and continue to remain silent about the tyranny of this man?  History will call you a traitor and a coward.  You have the power, the Republicans do not.  Wake up and give us back our country!

As far as Christians who still support Obama this comment at our website from Linda sums up my conviction:

“As a Christian….and having paid attention to Obama….the President…. I am beside myself….I seriously cannot understand how a Christian could possibly have voted for him… My spirit….knows well that he is laughing at the Christians….to say the very least. There is such a sinister presence in this nation…which I am so well aware of….personally I do not feel man can turn this around….unless repentance occurs and a revival……which corporate prayer could and would be essential to kick-start the “Revival”………have already been praying for revival……God Bless and lift you up.”

OBAMA SNUBS MEDIA AGAIN: ‘CLEAR OUT THE PRESS SO WE CAN TAKE SOME QUESTIONS’

OBAMA SNUBS MEDIA AGAIN: ‘CLEAR OUT THE PRESS SO WE CAN TAKE SOME QUESTIONS’

by JOHN NOLTE 25 Feb 2013 111

If it mattered, the dismissive way Obama treats the media coupled with his lack of transparency would be troubling. But it doesn’t matter. Even if the president was as transparent as glass, the media would still cover up anything that might politically damage him. So the fact that Obama treats the media like the lackeys they are is actually very amusing and all kinds of satisfying.

The  media’s been whining about “access” for 10 days now and as a result, today, Obama pretty much laughed in their collective faces with this:

“What I want to do is clear out the press so we can take some questions.”

As the Washington Post’s Erik Wemple points out, just two weeks ago, Obama bragged about heading the most transparent administration ever. Today, though, Obama inflicts a little more Battered Media Syndrome on his lapdogs by treating them like the stenography pool in front of… the whole wide world.

Let me repeat: If the media want respect, instead of whining about their precious one’s dismissively abusive treatment of them, the media instead should demand respect from Obama by holding him accountable for things like lying about and demagoguing the sequester, Libya, the economy… In other words, actually do their job as guardians of the country instead of Palace Guards.

Naturally, though, the media will continue to take Obama’s abuse, whine a little, and then come back for more.

You know, because they know Barack loves them and that he really wants to change and is trying to change and that he can’t help the way he behaves sometimes because he’s under a lot of pressure being awesome.

Now a special message to Christians who support Obama:  Today He is laughing at you.

By Mario Murillo

A painful reality awaits all of you Christians who voted for Obama.  Today he is laughing at you. Unless the election was rigged as I suspect, your vote had a hand in placing a great instrument of evil in the highest office.  Today, Obama took a dramatic step forward in his reign of terror by kicking the press out.  Knowing the media loves him he moves on and casts them out like a battered wife.  And he is betting that you are dumb enough to keep supporting him.

Benghazi was worse than Watergate and he got a pass.  His dramatic performance and lies on the Sequester should have allowed Michelle to get him the Oscar for best actor.  Republicans are once again poised to roll over and get zero tax cuts, zero spending cuts and certain bankruptcy.   All which is brought to you in part by Christians who knew only that they would get money from the government.

What does that mean to you as a Christian?  It means that he has removed another key limitation to his power.  He is testing the waters to see if  he can tell lies without as much as a fact check.  And he is betting that you are dumb enough to keep supporting him.  How will your government check look after he closes the doors of your church or  when he begins arresting pastors for trying to stop him?

Now that he has proven he can avoid the press and they will still love him he is even more dangerous.    It means he can step on the gas on his agenda against Christians and Israel.

Dear Christian Obama supporter, today he is laughing at you.

Farrakhan Recruits Chicago Gangs as ‘Soldiers’ of Nation of Islam

Farrakhan Recruits Chicago Gangs as ‘Soldiers’ of Nation of Islam

Louis Farrakhan, the controversial leader of the Nation of Islam, spoke to thousands of followers in Chicago Sunday, addressing gun control, praising President Barak Obama’s re-election, and outlining a proposal to enlist the city’s warring gangs to “protect” the Islamic organization.

Farrakhan, 79, told 7,000 followers he plans to reach out to Chicago’s gang leaders and enlist their services to “protect” the Nation of Islam in the future.

“All you gang bangers, we know you love to shoot, but you’re killing yourselves,” Farrakhan said. “All your weapons are illegal and you’re using them like savages.”

Farrakhan suggested that such “gang bangers” are “natural soldiers” and when given proper instruction, they could be taught “the science of war” to protect the Nation of Islam.

The statements were reportedly made shortly after Farrakhan repeated his calls for blacks to pool their money and purchase as much land as possible, DNAinfo reported, as a way to “control means of production” necessary for survival.

On gun control, Farrakhan told his supporters that national lawmakers were using Chicago’s violence epidemic to mandate stronger gun control laws.

He argued that the Second Amendment had nothing to do with the high homicide rate in Chicago this past year.

“The guns that every one of our young people have, are they legal? No!” Farrakhan said.

Farrakhan called Obama’s re-election a significant historical milestone and went on to warn those in attendance that Obama’s victory does not guarantee prosperity for black people.

Farrakhan blamed the death of Libyan president Moammar Ghaddaf on American and European governments. He said the governments viewed Ghaddafi as an “impediment” to their access to natural resources in Africa.

Farrakhan went on to suggest that the American government also wanted to see black leaders, like himself, go away.

Mario’s note:  Pray for Obama’s media Teflon to be removed and for the nation as a whole to repudiate his agenda.  It is the frenzy on the part of the left that has emboldened Farrakhan to make such inflammatory remarks. Pray for our nation in the critical time for true revival to come and  avoid civil war.

Do You See the Chains?

chain copy

Do You See the Chains?

Philippians 1:14 and most of the brethren in the Lord, having become confident by my chains, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.”

Paul was in chains because of Christ. This ignited boldness in the church.  It was when they saw the chains that it all became clear. What needed to be done became clear.  What needed to be said became clear.   The thought of their beloved apostle in chains… unchained them!

Let me ask you a question.  Do you see the chains?   Can you see basic rights removed and false rights created? Have you watched churches threatened by the IRS and local governments that want to exile congregations out of the American life?   Are you watching tax payer money used to advance an anti-God agenda?  Do you see the chains?

As you read this our government expands its ban on free speech and freedom of worship in the United States.  I know that a statement like that can seem unreal but let me assure you it is not.

Protests halted an outreach with Tim Tebow at First Baptist Church in Dallas simply because that church taught that homosexuality is a sin!  How could anyone have imagined a day when sermons could be censored or banned as hate speech simply because they upheld the Word of God?

Washington D.C. has declared war on Christian evangelists.  Many of them on television do not want to say anything about this.  Let me ask you again: Do you see the chain?

We must see the chains and become bold!  How do I know that bold preaching will work?  I know it will work because the Word of God has never returned void!  I know because it is only a minority of radicals in politics, Hollywood, unions and the media that are making all the noise. The vast majority of Americans want truth!

I know because as you read this a cluster of revivals are breaking out in the region surrounding the San Francisco Bay Area.  Think of that!  In the bastion of liberalism, youth are turning to Christ because God is confirming His Word with signs, wonders and miracles!  Not only here, but fires continue to burn in our nationwide outreaches.

hands out

If there is one truth that I tried to drive home in the main article it is this:  IT IS NOT BECAUSE WE ARE HATED THAT WE DO NOT PREACH THE TRUTH, IT IS BECAUSE WE DO NOT PREACH THE TRUTH THAT WE ARE HATED.

The Body of Christ has the combination that America needs right now.  We have the soldiers, we have the message, we have the opportunity and we have the anointing!  Only one thing is needed, the ammunition of boldness to strike the church to take the fight to the heart of darkness in the Name of Jesus!

P.S.

I cannot impress upon you the urgency of registering to be alerted on these blogs.  We fully expect Obama to seize more control of Facebook.  Facebook is in the tank because they just got billions of dollars in tax break.  See the documentation for this in a coming blog.

WASHINGTON (CBS DC) — Tea Party stalwart Sen. Ted Cruz has tough words for President Barack Obama in a recent interview.

“I think President Obama is the most radical president we’ve ever seen, but I think an awful lot of Republicans fail to stand for principle and contributed to getting us in this mess,” the Republican Texas senator told The Christian Broadcasting Network in a recent interview.

Cruz has already risen through the political ranks despite being a first-term senator. Cruz has taken a stand against Obama on immigration and gun control. The freshman senator also voted against John Kerry as secretary of state.

Cruz told The Christian Broadcasting Network that he is hoping to form a new Republican Party.

“Life, liberty, and property, the fundamental natural rights of man are given to every one of us by God, and the role of government fundamentally is to protect those rights,” Cruz said.

Despite his popularity, Cruz says he doesn’t pay attention to his own media coverage.

“I try to pay very little attention to the media,” Cruz explained. “It is, as you know, a fickle creature. They can say anything today, and tomorrow, it can change dramatically.”

Sen. Ted Cruz: We’ve got a job and right now I think the U.S. Senate is the battlefield. Unfortunately, Republicans are in the minority. This last election did not turn out as I had hoped, but I nonetheless think that if we had principled, effective conservatives who make the case that the most effective engine, for economic opportunity, the most effective engine for climbing the economic ladder, for helping those with nothing to achieve anything has been free markets, has been limited government has been the incredible, American system. If we make that case, we can preserve that system. And I think that’s what the stakes are.

And so, my focus every day is on the substance of winning the fight, stopping the out of control spending and deficits and debt so that our kids aren’t crushed with those debts and getting the economy growing again. You know in the last four years under President Obama, our economy has grown 1.5 percent a year. That’s less than half the historical average. The historical average since World War II has been 3.3 percent. If we can’t get the economy growing, we can’t solve any of these problems.

If you want to get the 23 million people who are struggling to find jobs back to work, get the economy growing. If you want to transform our federal balance sheet, change it from the train wreck it is right now, get the economy growing.

And so, every day in the Senate, my focus is championing small businesses, entrepreneurs, championing economic growth, because ultimately, economic growth is what provides opportunity, it’s what enables people, like my dad, to climb the economic ladder, to climb from nothing to achieve prosperity. That’s my focus, and I try to pay attention to nothing else, but focusing on that.

David Brody: Too many people choosing politics over principle?

Cruz: That’s exactly right. Look, I mean there are a lot of people in Washington, I think, who desperately, desperately want to be in elected office. There’s an old line that ‘Politics is Hollywood for ugly people.’ And there’s an element of truth to that. You see those in elected office who, the prospect of not being in elected office is terrifying to them.

And one of the sad realities is that it has been career politicians, in both parties, who’ve gotten us in this mess. I think President Obama is the most radical president we’ve ever seen, but I think an awful lot of Republicans, failed to stand for principle and contributed to getting us in this mess, and I think what we’ve seen in 2010 and to some degree in 2012 is a new generation of leaders stepping forward that are committed to fixing these problems.
