I have some really good news for you—news that won’t just make your day it will make your month. The problem is we don’t care about good news anymore. It is sad but true. If I were to post a blog about the current insanity thousands would read it. If I wander into the fray between Trump, Cruz and Hillary it might go viral. Bad news sells.
Why we prefer bad news rather than good news remains a mystery. Here is what Psychology Today Magazine theorizes: “Media studies show that bad news far outweighs good news by as much as seventeen negative news reports for every one good news report. Why? The answer may lie in the work of evolutionary psychologists and neuroscientists. Humans seek out news of dramatic, negative events.
GOD’S SPIRIT PULLING YOUNG SOULS INTO THE KINGDOM!
Many studies have shown that we care more about the threat of bad things than we do about the prospect of good things. Our negative brain tripwires are far more sensitive than our positive triggers. We tend to get more fearful than happy. And each time we experience fear we turn on our stress hormones.”
Okay, since some are so bent on bad news—let me give you some very bad news before I give you the good news. The presidential election will not save America no matter who is elected. Our debt is too high and our morals are too low. We are beyond any scientifically known cure.
Imagine America a patient in a hospital bed. The doctor is explaining its condition to the family: “Not one vital organ is working. Multiple viruses ravage the immune system. Bones, muscles, nerves and tissue are disintegrating because the body has declared war on itself. Death is certain…all we have left to do is to try to extend its life and reduce pain. But even that is now impossible.”
In 1966, Life magazine gave a similar diagnosis about the youth of America. It explained—using terrifying statistics—that they were doomed. It offered but one solution: “If there is any answer, it must come from among them.” Within 2 years of that death sentence…the Jesus movement began.
Now, despite your carnal nature’s appetite for bad news…here comes some very good news: Last night something happened. Something big happened. Last night was like a woodsman trapped in the artic…it’s 50 below and night is falling. He frantically is striking flints together hoping for a lifesaving spark. After countless tries he hits it right. The spark becomes a flame. Last night a nation-saving fire sparked to life.
Many won’t be interested in knowing about the young man who decided to quit life. I walked up to him and declared, “Today, Satan told you to quit because God is not real…but God is real, and He will never let you go.” He hit the floor under a shock wave of the Holy Ghost! Dozens of youth around him felt the concussion in their souls.
TODAY SATAN TOLD YOU TO QUIT. HE SAID THERE IS NO HOPE.
Ranging to my left I caught sight of a woman and immediately her life story was revealed to me. Jesus took over and healed her from head to toe. Her miracle touched her bones—bones that felt as if they were liquefying. She was transformed by the power of God right before our eyes.
This miracle ignited the rest. Before it was over fully one third of the entire audience stood to declare that they had been healed by the power of God. This is all wonderful but the true drama of that night was about to come.
Here is the good news: Something happened in Manteca that I have not felt since 1974 in Berkeley.
I can’t tell you yet—soon I will—but there is a cloud over the “accepted leadership” of much of the church that is going to be sidelined in favor of a fresh generation that is not corrupted by money, immorality, or lust for power.
God is raising them up to be a voice that will roar across the nation! I saw it last night and it should be heralded all over the land…trouble is we like bad news so much that we have almost lost our capacity to rejoice when something truly wonderful happens.
Just as Jesus called Lazarus out of the grave…the Holy Spirit called young people out of every kind of death you could imagine. But something much deeper was happening here. It was unmistakable. Something from heaven got into the entire crowd of people. They were totally transformed.
I can say with conviction that God put something unstoppable in this young crowd.
I have seen many events—I can tell when it will fizzle and when it will rage on. Good news…something began last night that could—without a doubt—take the nation by storm.
THE FIRE BEGAN IN SAN JOSE. IT INTENSIFIED IN MANTECA. NOW WE MOVE ON TO YUBA CITY AND LIVE OAK!
