AFTER THIS IS OVER, WILL I EVER PRAY FOR THE SICK AGAIN?

By Mario Murillo.  Our crusades focus on winning souls and healing the sick.  We can never stop praising God for the abundance of miracles we have seen.  However, in the depths of my infirmity, the enemy came and said, “look at you, God has not miraculously healed you.  How can you ever pray for the sick again?”
Once again, Satan has made a critical mistake by lying to me.  I received a miraculous touch that greatly reduced my pain.  The rest will come through doctors—which is still a healing.  But that isn’t the real news.  I gained a revelation that will help me for the rest of my life.
Let me explain. This was an attack of the devil.  I have no doubt it was tied to our crusade in Las Vegas.  Something about our coming crusade has enraged hell.   However, God seized the situation for His own ends by turning this into a crash course, jammed packed with one lesson after another.
Paul’s thorn in the flesh has been debated for thousands of years.  Some say it was sickness, others say it was an oppressive spirit.  I know better than to try and shed light on something I know nothing about.  What I do know is the amazing attitude change that it brought in Paul.
Let me say something about attitude: It is everything!  In military language attitude refers to the fighting will of an army.  There are only 4 possible attitudes for an army: offense, defense, desertion, or détente (compromise with the enemy).  Paul’s military attitude was most definitely to stay on the offensive.

Not everyone who reads this will be able to handle what I say next.  Great power rested on Paul.  Some of it was visions, and supernatural visits to heaven…however, a major part of it was the healing miracles that followed his ministry.  He concluded that “in order for me not to get the big head, God allowed things to happen that made me weak.”  (infirmities?)  But why?
Couldn’t it look to people that Paul’s situation is a contradiction?  He was giving out miracles abundantly, even on the occasions when he needed one himself.  Instead of allowing that to be an insult, he wore it like a badge of honor.  “If me being weak is what it takes to see a great flow of miracles so be it!”   Here’s what 2 Corinthians 12: 9 says, “Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses…”
There needs to be a defiant attitude in us whenever we are attacked.  We need to understand what Satan is trying to stop.  We should resolve to increase the amount of whatever it was that made him mad.
I leave you with a final example:  Peter was ordered to stop healing the sick in Acts 4.  They threatened him with severe punishment.  His reaction leaves no doubt by how he prayed right after they let him go.  Acts 4: 29 “Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, 30 by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your Holy Servant Jesus.”
After this is over I will pray for more healings, greater healings, constant healings—so many that the enemy will bitterly regret attacking this ministry.

    1. I cherish it too Gail!
Mario, You’ll enjoy having less & less pain, it is the pain that has been healed within me as Christ removed the pain in from my spinal growth, December 2017. The growth is still there, but the pain isn’t. I discern that these healings Christ is giving us now are for intense pain, I have learned through this that weakness and infirmity in God’s economy are irrelevant to the power at work within us! Christ seems to utilize our lack of human strength to overshadow us with His might. Remember when AP-Paul said “Be strong in The Lord and the power of His might”…it becomes a real paradigm shift, It’s like Jesus is saying “Relax I’ve got this, stand aside and just watch Me do it using you!”
Anyway that’s how it’s been for me.

  1. These are the last day’s and he is angry, and going after the one’s who are causing him the most trouble, and as far as Paul it was both, because as being taken to heaven my self, I had ask the Lord to heal me, and remove that evil one, who hounded me constantly, and as he did Paul he said my grace is suff. the sickness is bad enough, but then there’s a messenger from satan that frustrate’s the dicken’s out of you, trying to mess up every thing, I all way’s was told satan don’t have to fight who he all ready has, and I have found that to be true, if we are doing what we are suppose to as mins. then we are at war, and there is no DMZ, you either fight or your taken prisoner, some need to learn that. God Bless brother Mario

  2. Hi Mario!

I like your spirit! If the enemy can dish it, the Spirit of the Lord will dish it right back one hundred fold!

I am so thankful for Scripture and Saint Paul’s attitude…

“He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.”

“Therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. (10) Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake, for when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12: 9-10

I needed to wake up this morning and read this as a reminder.

The world will never understand this kind of approach because it appears counter-intuitive – but because we walk with God – we get it, and not only do we ‘get it’ but this kind of ‘word’ imparted by the Holy Spirit to Paul, to you and to me – gives us the strength and courage we need in order to press through, stand firm and surrender it all to the Lord.

This is why we need each other in the Body of Christ. We need one another to encourage and admonish – to remind us, again and again and again.
If the entire world is defiant for the enemy, then those Christians who are granted to suffer needs to be a defiant for the sake of Christ — because you, me, WE will grow even stronger!
    Glory to God! Hallelujah!

NOTHING will stop what God has birthed in you, Mario, as a dream that has become a reality. You will continue to do the work of the Lord, regardless of what the enemy has thrown at you. Amen!

    Peace & Agape!

  3. I’m sorry, but I fail to understand why people don’t know what Paul’s “thorn in the flesh” was, when the Bible tells us. In Greek it is “aggelos satana” – “a messenger of Satan. A demon. And whatever it was did not necessarily afflict his flesh. The NIV mistranslates it as “a thorn in my flesh,” which would be “skolops moi sarkis” when it really is “skolops te sarkis.” = “thorn in THE flesh.” Now, the expression “thorn in the flesh” is just a figure of speech, like “a drop in a bucket” is. Is that a figurative drop in a literal bucket? A literal drop in a figurative bucket? Is the whole thing literal? No, a figure of speech is ALL figurative. In this case it just means something that is really bothersome. Just like in Numbers 33:55 – “But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.” They weren’t literally thorns nor were they literally in their sides.

Now, as to the part about “My grace is sufficient for you,” let’s look at what James had to say about that: “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:6-7) So, God gave Paul, as He does us, the power to demand the demon to go away! Luke 10:20 says the spirits are subject to the believers. Let’s live like it!

      1. Mario if this is a stupid question please let me know I can take it.
The reason i asked is because I respect your opinion.
Believe me i would just accept your answer.

      2. Thank you, I was pondering this and was concidering that sometimes attacks come through people who are under the influence of an evil spirit.
Rebellious people who are out to discredit the ministry especially those who have gone out from us.
I’ll take your answer and stand firm on it.

  4. Dear Mr. Murillo, you stated that Paul’s thorn has been debated for centuries. It seems there are two views: 1) Paul’s thorn was a physical infirmity 2) Paul’s thorn is an oppressive spirit.
I’m not a theologian, but I read the text and look up Strongs Concordance. Vs. 5 says, “infirmities” and vs. 9 says “weaknesses”…the concordance usually states the strongest meaning first.
I believe it means lacking in strength or weakness.
Vs. 7 says a messenger of Satan…translated Angel…clearly an oppressive spirit and not a disease…nowhere is sickness or disease mentioned.
The passage does not discuss illness…rather the third heaven and revelation…spiritual things.
I am compassionate for your recent health struggles..but, you’ve always been a diligent preacher of Truth. Please don’t allow your battle to define the Word that feels comfortable. Please reread this….or, correct me I’m wrong.

    1. Thank you for responding. And for sure, all this warfare is over Las Vegas. It’s going to be Huge!
I see you didn’t say Paul’s thorn was sickness. And understood your main point was attitude and perseverance..yes!!
And Paul’s thorn is touchy because of the going to Drs. issue. And yes, I’ll reveal I’m one of “those”. Not popular that’s for sure! Lost a lot of family and friends over it.
But, 19 yrs. ago did a study of Jesus’ healings and miracles, plus examined healing scriptures gen-rev. Someone said to try trusting God for something small like a headache or flu. Had flu 43 yrs. twice a year. Long story short, 19 yrs. now flu.free, allergies, infection. cancer.spore..and more.
      …lest I boast…like Paul…
A lot of pulpits preach the mixture of Medical and Miracle. And it feels risky in the face of pain to draw a line in the sand and cry out, “Jesus you’re my only option..I’m not calling 911. I know from whence my Help comes from!” Ps. 30:2 is true.
I’ll be so bold to say…Big Pharma is anti.Christ. the false Healer and at the root of it is the root of all evil…love of money. Doctors have become idolatrous false gods and Medicine (Pharmakea..rev 18) is sorcery. There are a few verses..Matthew, Proverbs and Paul’s thorn used to what I think mistakenly are used to support the Medical…but over 100 verses support supernatural healing. One third of Jesus’ ministry was healing by Love..God’s compassion for the suffering of mankind. Jesus never sent them down to Dr. Luke and prescribe meds. (and, they had meds in those days.) He touched, spoke a word. But most often told people that their Faith (Belief) would make them well. Only believe. See Hebrews 11.1 God alone gets the glory..He shares it with no man. Yet we’re quick to applaud our Drs..even the Christian ones.
Too often, the pulpit only preaches half the Gospel. Jesus said, “which is easier to say, “your sins are forgiven or rise and walk.”
Please don’t get too busy to wait for Him and trust Him…i know you do. Just consider that the devil is robbing so many Christians of time, energy and money…not to mention suffering…when Jesus so clearly paid the price!
Thank you for considering this. Blessings in your upcoming ministry!

      1. meant to mention…
the parable of the sower, when talking about thorny ground…says it’s the worries, pleasures and cares. The crown of thorns could mean a mindset of these…

  5. Amen!! My prayers have been not to give up, but to remember no matter what condition we may be in, God will use and probably more powerful than before. We have already won the war and already have the victory Jesus!!

  6. MARIO,
YOU ARE A MIGHTY MAN OF GOD, BLESSED AND A BLESSING! MAY HE CONTINUE TO ANOINT YOU IN JESUS NAME, AMEN.

  7. II Corinthians1:3-4
(3)All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. (4)He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.
And they overcame by the word of their testimony and the blood of the Lamb.

  8. However He accomplishes the weakness needed in us for Him to shine through stronger, it allows us to step back and let Him do His thing. Finally. WE cannot, and He can and He will.
