Two bonehead ideas are still being used by celebrity preachers as an excuse to remain silent when they should be mustering the army of God to do her duty this November.

These ideas are putting the church back into Obama era apathy at the worst possible time.  Think of what is at stake.  The Supreme Court, the economy, national security, and everything we hold dear will be lost.  The floodgates of immorality will open.

Here are the two bone-headed ideas.  1. All government is from God and we must submit.   2. A candidate must be sinless or we are choosing the lesser of two evils.  And here are the verses abused to justify those two bone-headed ideas:

Romans 13: 1 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.  “For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. 4 For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.”

1. It’s bone-headed to say we must submit to government no matter what:  No sane Christian believes Hitler was God’s will for Germany.  God raised up divine retribution on him through the nations of the world.  God works through people to restrain evil.  The church must do her duty to restrain evil.

“The authorities that exist”: This phrase means authority from God, not rogue authority.  Satan is rogue authority.   God has always balanced the threat of tyranny with authorities He raises up: “God’s minister to execute wrath.”

Moreover, it says “No ruling authority from God is a terror to good works.”  They do not persecute God’s people or enact laws to ban the Gospel.  So what do you call authority that is a terror to good works?

German believers abused these same verses to justify their apathy.  Dietrich Bonhoeffer could not open the eyes of the German church about the horrors of Hitler.  His radio addresses warned Germany.  Ironically, he blamed the fad of cheap grace and their blind submission.  They rejected his warnings and the consequence was the bloodiest world war and 6 million Jews annihilated.

Again, the point is that God works through people to stop evil.  The church’s silence in the face of evil is not noble or virtuous, it is itself evil.

Nations can and do pick evil leaders.  Even Israel picked an evil leader: 1 Samuel 8:6 “But the thing displeased Samuel when they said, “Give us a king to judge us.” So Samuel prayed to the Lord. 7 And the Lord said to Samuel, “Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them.”   Obama was never God’s choice for America.   We have a mountainous stockpile of wreckage to prove it.

When evil reigns, God begins a complicated process to reestablish justice. Human history is messy.  God works in that mess.  We want story book endings but humanity is complicated.  Jehovah works like a surgeon skillfully cutting around vital organs to get at the cancer.  Jesus spoke of the wheat and tares having to grow together until the end—otherwise the wheat would also be lost.   We have a Biblical mandate to discern and get involved in the work God is doing to save our nation.

2. It’s bone-headed not to vote because you “refuse to pick the lesser of two evils.”  You must discern where God is working and support it.  God uses flawed people: Daniel was probably shocked to discover that God choose to use Nebuchadnezzar.

Instead of asking who is without sin, we should be asking where is God working?

Look at what Paul did:  Acts 23:6 “But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question. 7 And when he had so said, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and the Sadducees: and the multitude was divided. 8 For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both. 9 And there arose a great cry: and the scribes that were of the Pharisees’ part arose, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel hath spoken to him, let us not fight against God.”

Jesus said that the Sadducees and Pharisees were both evil.  So was Paul choosing the lesser of two evils by siding with the Pharisees?  Or, was he discerning where God could work?   Right now it is Trump He can work with.  But Trump needs a Congress he can work with.  We had better work with God in this next election.

Still don’t know what you must do?  From Nancy Pelosi to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Democrats have vowed to open borders, seize guns, redistribute wealth, skyrocket taxes, and force the church to “evolve.”

Evil is not hard to spot.  It hates, Israel, Christianity, and Biblical morality, the family, and the unborn.   The Democratic Party wears this badge of hate proudly.

How disastrous will it be for them to get the House and Senate?  It will be the same as if Hillary had won.

  1. “Celebrity” is SIN!

(Only weeping prophets should elicite our respect and admiration.)

Following Celebrity instead of practicing the authority Jehovah gave believers to effect change and exercise control over the earth and the affairs of man is SIN!

    1. This is by far,the best illustration, biblically based, teaching,I have heard of!!!Thanks for blowing the trumpet 🎺 of Truth!!!Keep crying out, sparing Not!!!

  2. “The central problem of our age is not liberalism or modernism, nor the old Roman Catholicism or the new Roman Catholicism, nor the threat of communism, nor even the threat of rationalism and the monolithic consensus which surrounds us. All these are dangerous but not the primary threat. The real problem is this: the church of the Lord Jesus Christ, individually corporately, tending to do the Lord’s work in the power of the flesh rather than of the Spirit. The central problem is always in the midst of the people of God, not in the circumstances surrounding them.”
    Francis Shaffer ‘No Little People’

  3. Thank you Mario, for speaking what God has put on your heart. Thank goodness He is perfecting what concerns us the body of Christ. Continuing to pray telling others to pray, and seek God for these times we are facing. While they are difficult times it’s time for the Church to be light in the darkness.
Thank you for your heart toward this ministry to the body.

  4. Thank you Mario. May the Lord bless and protect you as you speak the Truth of God’s Word! May preachers turn from sin, preach the Word, give altar calls, and live for God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Amen! I agree with you Bro. Mario. It is so plain when one sees the truth through the discernment of the Holy Spirit. I continue to pray and urge others also and in line with God’s agenda. Thank God for those who see and proclaim the truth! I just finished reading about the Apostle Paul’s journey and what he faced and went through with the power of the Holy Spirit. I have hope that the prayers of the discerning Believers will overcome the plan of the evil one and I believe that we are gaining traction more and more as the enemy overplays his hand continually. Thank you for speaking the truth!

  6. Comment on No. 1″… submit to government no matter what.”
I approach this a little different than Mr. Murillo. Submit does not mean the same as blind obedience. If I lived in Germany during WWII I would submit to Hitler even though he was a “rogue authority” so to speak. Nevertheless, he has the authority.

Submission means you recognize the ruler show respect but do not do what he says if it is morally wrong. “I sorry sir, I cannot do what you wish because it is against the power of God, and his moral commandments. You have given me an illegal order, I cannot obey.”

Then I take the consequences of that stand, either by being put to death or seeking a way of escape from that authority.

Jesus did not resist the authorities who came to take him, or fight to remove them. He submitted to them because he had no authority to do so. Pilate was maybe a “rogue authority”, but Jesus recognized he was ordained of God to have it at this time.

He escaped from them until it was his hour.

    1. We are blessed living in an era and country where we are so blessed being able to make a choice of WHO should be the Leader/President. Therefore it is our God given responsibility to choose rightly, just pure common sense for the sake of the country not to be handed over to the anti-God Socialist Globalists and Islam. All Born Again Christians surely can see and discern of which political Party to vote for. It is very clear that progressive liberalism is not compatible with the Christian Faith. Period.

  7. the problem is biblical illiteracy and the spirit of stupid. Ever Christian in California should vote. Praying AND having no fear to stand up. Every mistake the Democrats did, they will try to correct if they take over the house.

    1. the electoral college will be one they will remove
    2. more aggressive on the people of faith
    3. take away more parental rights

The last one is happening with the public school right now Known as “TK ” program. this program is allowing younger children to go to school earlier for free. Parents are not using Christian daycares as much because of the cost(which is not much) and “TK” program is free to the parent.

The secular educational programs have tapped into this. Many Christian schools are seeing dramatic decreases in day-care. a very High percentage who use the day-cares at churches are not saved. But the low cost of day-care cannot match free. Yet another outreach attacked by ungodly educators

  8. This has been my heart’s cry for years. Church “leaders”, especially the celebs are a no-show when it comes to getting involved in nasty politics. Leave that to the “ungodly” and then complain about them. No salt. No light. No voice. No leadership. No courage. Makes me nauseous, actually.
Thank God for Mario Murillo and others who cry loud from God’s heart for our nation and the world.
