The Backfire

Today, in a closely watched case a pastor who was arrested for preaching the Gospel went before a judge. The Judge dropped all charges.  That is great but the outrage  among many unchurched people and the unity that this case ignited is the real story.

Right after the midterms the left decided to spike their persecution of Christians. It was a big mistake. Drudge reported that attacks were getting violent by the left not only on Christians but on everyone they hate. Now I want to tell you that this spike in persecution will now backfire. This is just the next step in God’s dealings with America. Just as the lying spirit was exposed, so now the attack on the church will backfire. Read why:

A moment like this is recorded in the Book of Acts: Acts 12:1-3, “Now about that time Herod the king stretched out his hand to harass some from the church. 2 Then he killed James the brother of John with the sword. 3 And because he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to seize Peter also.”

As I prayed, I experienced colliding emotions of dread and excitement. The Holy Spirit made it clear that persecution against Christians was going to spike in the United States in the next few months.  He also made it clear that this would touch off a towering flow of miracles of healing. That begins now!

Satan wants America destroyed.   It is the grand prize.  With America gone, the devil can unleash worldwide devastation.   But the global tyranny that he craves cannot happen until the American firewall is removed.

He also knows that he can only destroy America from within.  Somehow, he must pit us against each other.

The only deterrent to civil war at this point is Christianity.  Notice that I do not say the church, I say Christianity.  The church is sidelined by equal parts division and denial.  The Christianity seeping out despite religion is the only thing protecting us.

The devil’s weapon of choice is hate.  He must foment hate.  Today, that hate is coming from the very people claiming to be fighting hate: secular progressives, and social justice warriors.  You have seen how the things that were once loving, moral and trustworthy, including marriage, manhood, military service, freedom of speech, witnessing, the Bible and, yes, freedom itself, are now hateful.

God has been lovingly warning the American Church.  He has repeatedly ordered the church to stand as one against immorality, but she has flatly refused.  God now reserved the right to use persecution to wake up the church and spare the nation. This is happening!

There is much good news, but only for a certain group.  The core of Christians who refuse to side with the compromised church, and who are seeking Jesus, will be protected and used mightily.  Persecution will backfire!

The boomerang effect is seen in ancient Israel.  Exodus 1:12 says “But the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and spread; so the Egyptians came to dread the Israelites.”

After Herod arrested Peter, an angel appeared and brought him out.  This miracle ignited the church.  I am telling you what the Holy Spirit has told me.  Every vessel that seeks God right now will receive greater power and greater miracles.

Call it legend, call me crazy, but I know that this wave of persecution is backfiring.  We can turn it all around.  We can regain lost ground.  Those who disobey God cannot escape this misery and those who obey God will granted special grace and increased supernatural power.

Paul wrote to a worried Philippian church to tell them about the shock outcome of his imprisonment.  It serves as a promise to us of what is about to happen as a result of persecution in America.

Philippians 1:12 “And I want you to know this, dear brothers: Everything that has happened to me here has been a great boost in getting out the Good News concerning Christ. 13 For everyone around here, including all the soldiers over at the barracks, knows that I am in chains simply because I am a Christian. 14 And because of my imprisonment, many of the Christians here seem to have lost their fear of chains! Somehow my patience has encouraged them, and they have become more and more bold in telling others about Christ.”

Writing about the book of Acts Church Matthew Henry said this:  “The persecution that was designed to extirpate the church was by the overruling providence of God made an occasion of the enlargement of it. Christ had said, I am come to send fire on the earth; and they thought, by scattering those who were kindled with that fire, to have put it out, but instead of this they did but help to spread it.” Amen!

P.S. I hesitated to use the word persecution because—compared to the suffering of the underground churches worldwide—ours is but a “light affliction.” The word persecution should be reserved for them. Around the world, Christians are being killed for their faith. Their homes have been plundered and their children taken from them. Their horrors should cause us to pray fervently! Our government is not doing nearly enough against the heinous crimes against the Body of Christ worldwide. God help us to never forget the persecuted church. MM

  1. Someone has predicted there will be a ‘Take it Back’ movement beginning soon in the USA ….I wonder where and by whom, and I am praying for it. This moral imperative cannot be stressed enough. Thank you Mario, for highlighting the need to take a stand…we must all be involved in some way which should begin with prayer and fasting. I’m an American watching from the U.K. ….but my heart is in America. ❤️

  2. I sent this on another e-mail just a few minutes ago, but praying in the Spirit and hard to write right now, I had a Dream I sent, here it is: I had a dream we were in a fight with the British, it was not at a distance, we were face to face musket barrel’s so close we could touch each other, it was the blackest of night’s, and a wall of men stood face to face, the sky was lit up, with orange light from the musket fire, and we could see there face’s as if it were day light, the battle was so intense, WE WERE FIGHTING FOR OUR RELIGIOUS FREEDOM, AS WELL AS FOR THE FREEDOM OF OUR COUNTRY, ALL OVER AGAIN, God Bless Brother I am praying. God will prevail and we will win, my hat is off to the warrior’s who have jumped into battle, I salute you and God commend’s you.

  3. Dearest Mario, YES…their efforts will backfire & I saw it from AP-Paul’s perspective, because these zany people who actually devise another gospel (a form of their idea of good news) other than the one and only one that our mighty Christ Jesus preached are under a curse!…essentially Apostle Paul’s curse. These who make their moves to remove God’s Sovereign Right here in America or any other nation, to GIVE to His children through our faith and following its Christian teachings, are under a curse! While we are complete in Messiah Jesus forever in His sanctioned peace.
I addressed that topic here hope it helps in some way.🙏

  4. In the 1840s the American church divided itself over the issue of slavery. The Methodist church divided over the issues of a newly appointed bishop owning slaves. The Baptist church divided over the issue of one of its missionaries owning slaves. The Presbyterian church also divided in this same time frame, more over theological issues than slavery, but never the less the three largest denominations split. The civil war began less than 20 years later. Wake up American church! Learn from the past. Stand together on that which is Godly, and commanded in Scripture! Satan has done this once before, and it seems like he is using the same blueprint.

  6. Thank you and God Bless you more and more, for giving this word!!!! I’ve never been more sure of a prophetic word than this! My heart totally agrees! Satan wanted to do a hostile takeover before his time, but the Bride is awakening and arising!

  7. Acts 4:29-31
“Now, Lord, look on their threats and grant that Your servants may speak Your word with great boldness, by stretching out Your hand to heal and that signs and wonders may be performed in the name of Your holy Son Jesus.”

  8. This assumes that the Church doesn’t have some man made doctrinal beliefs that are far from Biblical. From my being in the Church for decades, it’s attitude is that it’s doctrines were perfected long ago despite the presence of thousands of denominations that reveal an opposite and ugly truth. The smugness of the Church (a man made term coined in the 4th century and used by all English bible translaters whenever it is favorable to the church’s pet doctrines but uses the word Synagogue, which is revisionism, otherwise) is scoffed at by non-believers. I quake in fear of God for the brethren and especially me for the times of sifting that are upon us. My prayer is that He do whatever it takes for His will to be done in me.

  9. ““When the French monarch proposed the persecution of Christians in his dominion, an old statesman and warrior said to him, ‘Sire, the church of God is an anvil that has worn out many hammers.’ So the hammers of infidels have been pecking away at this book for ages, but the hammers are worn out, and the anvil still endures. If this book had not been the book of God, men would have destroyed it long ago. Emperors and popes, kings and priests, princes and rulers have all tried their hand at it; they die and the book still lives.” From The Forerunner, Dec. 22, 2007 in an Editorial by their Staff

  10. “The persecution that was designed to extirpate the church was by the overruling providence of God made an occasion of the enlargement of it. ” Those old enough to remember can recall the 80-years-long effort by the USSR to stamp out religion, faith, Christianity in all its domains, and the resurgence under Pope John Paul II that led eventually to the collapse of communism throughout eastern Europe. So G-d will use people and circumstances to end the persecution of His people in our time. In the meantime, let’s be clear that Christians are not commanded to kneel and bare their necks to their wanna-be executioners. Luke 22:38 quotes Jesus thus: “he that has no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.” I have no sword, but I do have a permit to carry and every intention of defending myself and my family, come what may.

  11. Reblogged this on free73735 and commented:
From Mario Murillo…he can be followed on Word Press. They offer free accounts. I followed Sundance, on the Conservative Tree House for several years (still do). Then over time, I added Mario Murillo & The Praying Medic (David Hayes & his wife Denise).

  12. Persecution can also be mocking.
In Genesis 21:9 it says Ishmael mocked Isaac, and then in Galatians 4:29, Paul said Isaac was persecuted by Ishmael.
But the persecution we face is trivial compared to what others face in other countries.
