Welcome Back To The War

The Holy Spirit has burned a message into my soul that I cannot contain. I want this message to get into the hands of as many people as possible—people who are on the verge of spiritual shipwreck.  I have never felt as great an urgency to open my heart to you.

Millions have left the church.  Many who were on fire for God, even those who were effective vessels, have fallen and have abandoned their faith in Jesus.  A famous Christian singer announced that he is now an atheist.  Is that shocking? The real shock is that the church is not shocked, because this kind of recanting of faith has now become common.

Millions have left the church.  This is the reality that Christian leaders do not want to talk about.  However, facts do not go away.  And the facts are these: an entire generation has virtually discarded the faith of their parents.

Perhaps you also were among those who were wounded on the battlefield, but did not get up again.  The reasons are as varied as are the people themselves.  It may have been an abusive church.  It may have been an old habit that raged its way back into control.  It may have been a divorce, a false teaching that weakened you, or the gravitational weight of the unbelief and skepticism of this age.

The most common cause is sudden tragedy.  Something horrendous happened that ran you off of your theological map.  You felt that you had no choice but to abandon your faith.  You may be angry with God.  You are not alone.  There are millions in this condition.

Let me be frank, I believe that God is turning your heart back to Him.  And He is also doing this on a massive scale with others.

He has done it before.  Just prior to the fire falling on Mount Carmel, Elijah prayed these words, “Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that You are the Lord God, and that You have turned their hearts back to You again.” (1 Kings 18:37)

The Lord is doing this not only because He loves you, but because He wants to spare America.

“And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.” (Malachi 4:6)

You are likely a casualty of the lukewarm American church.  Widespread compromise has left her unprotected.  The active ingredient has been left out of preaching—and that ingredient is surrender.  And that is the reason that the power of God to stand against tragedy and evil has never kicked in.

The voice of the Holy Spirit is intensifying as He calls to those who are the fallen, the wounded, and the forgotten.  His wooing is loving and hopeful, but it never disguises the truth.

And the truth is that, in America, entire churches are backslidden!  And it is not unprecedented.  Look at these verses: 15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. 17 Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— 18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” (Revelation 3:15-20)

Okay. So you may have been caught in the cultural crossfire of the compromised church, or the toxic churcheven the false churchbut why should you lose your soul just to get back at false ministers and sick churches?

This is about you and Jesus.  This is about a destiny that God still keeps for you.  There is one thing that Satan does not want you to remember—it is the one thing that can break the chains of lies and heartbreak.

What Satan does not want you to think about is this: if you brush away the cobwebs of church politics, hypocrites, and unexpected tragedy, you will have to admit that the best days of your life were when you walked with God in fervent commitment.  Those were the days of peace and joy.

The best days were the days before anybody and anything came between you and Jesus.  You prayed and sensed that no matter what, everything would come out all right.  Even those things that you still had questions about became unimportant, because of your total trust in the character and faithfulness of God!

You have never, before or since, felt anything like His sweet presence.  Those were the best days, and those days can come again.  Jesus is knocking and wants to have dinner with you alone.  “I will sup with him,” Jesus promised.

I admit I am calling forth a divine desperation to come over you.  I want you to break, I want you to yearn to come back home—to return to your best life, your only life.

There is an army rising up, composed of people that Satan thought he had, but is about to lose on a grand scale.

Won’t you turn back to Jesus, and reclaim your first love? Do your first works over again. Then, He will say to you, “Welcome back to the war!”

Oh how I long to do so! But, outspoken folks that “appear” to upset the status quo are not wanted, pure and simple.

To stand in Worship in My Fathers Presence in the midst of an on fire Worshiping church, long for it and miss it terribly.

I’ve visited a few churches I really liked, but I’ve had a “Widow Maker” heart attack, yet preserved by Jesus, and the Sound Pressure Levels make me physically sick…

Other churches where I really liked the messages and preacher seem to be Camp Meeting Carnival as if you can dance your way into spirituality. Building emotions physically instead of from the heart out of love and awe for Jesus.

I am also constrained at work, my voice squelched to a large degree by the environment, caught between not getting fired, and becoming and infidel by not meeting the needs of my own family, or being circumspect… When I want to shout out a warning.

Perhaps as I get closer to retirement to Holy Spirit will grant me the unction to let ’em have it?

I don’t want to “have church” or “play church” I want to “Be The Church”. An integral functioning part.

But, then again who wants to be around someone who is heart sick over the state of the church? No one I’ve found.

My offerings go to a Missionary on Guam, who as a young single sailor I counted as my BFF, still do.

And, we download his messages and watch them on our Sunday Mornings, his are 18 hours (or so) ahead of us.

But, it’s simply not the same as being a part of the synergetic worship of a congregation.

And, a verse I can’t seem to find, says about it, something to the effect, “then I knew”.

  2. My two brothers a d I have been getting together weekly for a little less than three years praying for this exact thing. A reawakening of the church followed by a revival. We live in the northeast, and this great falling away has hit this area hard. It is encouraging to see post like this. I know that Mario is working very hard in California, we are praying for him and his ministry as they do the Lord’s work there and are praying hard for a movement like that to start in this darkened northeast. God Bless you Mario for standing strong, your words of encouragement have not fallen on deaf ears. Pray for a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit to get God’s people moving.

  3. Many have left churches that are bland, false teachings… Especially false interpretations about last days and rapture which hasn’t happened… And entertainment style worship…and so many leaders caught in sexual sins…

  4. Left organized religion over 20 years ago. Got very disappointed and tired of the rock star theatrics of so called praise and worship. Came to the obvious conclusion it was a “business.” The Holy Spirit was reigned in.
I never left the Word. The Lord has never left me and never will. He says where two or more are gathered in His name He is in our midst. The Holy Spirit and I are more than enough and I thankfully have genuine fellowship with like believers in my family and friendships. I have become a fervent prayer and continue to read and study His Word. I am prospering as He promises and grateful He gave me a giving heart.
What is going on today? This is all GOD’s doing and it is marvelous. I am excited and truly grateful to live in such a time as this. I believe there are a lot of us out here “in the world,” but we are not part of it!

  5. I am one of those. I was so overwhelmed with adversity I lost faith. As I fell away my family followed suit. Thank you for this message. It was for me if no one else. And the Lord has to do it by His Spirit because I have little strength.

    1. Jane, Jesus spoke to the church at Philadelphia, and he commended them for having a “little strength.” They refused compromise. They held on to his word. They had not denied his name. He promised them open doors, and victory over their enemies. Faith the size of a mustard seed can move a mountain. The Lord rebuke satan from his attacks against you. Hold to the nail-scarred hand of Jesus. It is not over yet! Look up, dear sister!

  6. As in a war…discouragement comes when we do not see the battles being won in and around us. Then if not encouraged to stand our ground no matter what, discouragement can lead to despair and despair to giving up. Jesus said in Luke 18…”when I return, will I find Faith in the earth”? The Church has lost faith, because they did not see change in the midst of the battles in their lives. It did not come in the time and way they thought.

However, my bible says the battle has already been secured and won in Him. If we are not laying hold of Faith in His Word because of hope deferred, then we are like a ship lost at sea without a rudder.

The desperate are now being called to surrender to Him. Surrender to His Word and stop surrendering to the enemies of doubt, unbelief, double-mindedness that has led them into hopelessness and apathy.

I believe the Lord is restoring faith in the land. I believe He is calling us to encourage one another to confess our doubt and unbelief, and to once again return to His promises and lay hold of faith. Faith that changes us so we can once again take our place and be effective in this war.

Luke 18 also speaks of praying and never losing hope… In restoring us in faith in His word, His promises… we can once again lay hold of the altar of prayer, and cry out a desperate cry that says I will not give up, until I see the answer. I will not give up until I see my family, sons and daughters return to the Lord and those without hope come to Him.

When He returns, will He find faith.

  7. Except the church and faith in Jesus is not the same thing…many true, mature Believers are much healthier without the church as we know it today. I’m sorry about this but we are still part of the Body! Blessings to all who believe

      1. To vmott, Penny, Margret, Debra, Mark, Jane, Ofelia, Lorraine, Kevin, and Mr Drukenmiller,
Insightful responses from all of you!

What I see in what Mario wrote is that Mario is encouraging us to go back to the future, which is our REAL future… which strictly lay within Jesus strong mighty Hand. In the Garden of His Presence, under the shadow of His powerful operational, practical Grace. This is Where true unfettered bliss actually lives.
No doubt we who’ve run into HIM our strong tower of refuge, having left the “compromised human construct” they’re still calling ‘church’, are already abiding in the perfect secret place of God’s mystery evidenced through the separation we made.
Christ left this place for us “like” a ‘Petra’ hiding place for the sacred remnant . And all of this is only until our Brave Champion Husband King Yeshua, comes shouting, trumpeting and lifting Up His dearly beloved Bride.
It’s the perfect estate, until Perfection (only found in Jesus) intentionally arrives.
WE wait here which is actually “being there”, and we do it with incredible anticipation, precision and predestination‼️… Knowing HIM in WHO we’ve placed our eternal Hope.
We’ve already arrived, now we’re just waiting for HIM to.

  8. I to am a Casualty of 18 yr’s in the Wilderness. Right after the Renewal in the 90’s people went into stagnation. It was refreshing after 31/2 yr’s of holy Laughter. But that’s gone. Satan took advantage of this. I lost everything in 2001. Ended up on Whidbey Island. and got an Eye Opener. Being Filled with the Spirit. The Churches here are Religious, Lukewarm, Dead, Ritualistic, Man Made Doctrine of Devil’s. I Confronted an Assembly of God. I was called out as a False Prophet, and you will know them by their Fruits’.. Slandered at the Pulpit. Grieve’s the Holy Spirit to see the Church of God in such Depraved State. They hear but they do not hear, they see but they do not see. Unless the Church Repent’s. It’s hard , very Hard to find a Wholesome, Spirit Filled Church now a day’s. That has a Firm Foundation. But After Reading this.. I’m Determined to be Planted Again. Thank You for this Article.. Gave me HOPE !!!1

  9. I don’t equate a fervent love for Jesus Christ, His Word, and His people with regular institutional church attendance. Goodness, you said it yourself, so many churches are on a path of compromise…I experience more of Christ’s love, community, and amazing Presence in regular, small home gatherings than I have in most churches these days. They are great about calling people into their vision, but not so great at equipping the Saints to minister where they are stationed. Experts at entertaining, but not so much when it comes to discipling. We desperately need true apostolic hubs that equip and send. This world needs to see the Lord in us now more than ever!

  11. I thought it was just me, this sudden, unexpected burning in my heart to return to my first love. But it’s part of something much larger. Mario expresses it perfectly here. And, like a previous turning point for me a decade ago, his timing is uncanny.
