I NEVER SAID THAT

The therapist walked to the blackboard and drew a horizontal straight line.  He asked the patient “what does that make you think of?”  “Sex,” he replied.  Then the therapist drew a vertical straight line and asked again, “what does this make you think of?” Again, the patient answers, “sex.”  Finally, the therapist draws a circle and asks, “okay what about now?”  Once again, the answer was sex.

“I don’t need to go any further” said the therapist, “you’re obsessed with sex.”  Incensed, the patient replies, “Me?”  “You’re the one drawing all the dirty pictures!”

It was interesting how many thought I was drawing dirty pictures—claiming I said any Christian who disagrees with Trump hates him.  I never said that.

It was equally remarkable to see how angry they got—how they took it so personally.

Some of the comments were hilarious.  “I am a believer, I don’t hate him. Even though he is a pathological liar, and a wolf.”  Other Christians cited the audio of Trump from 12 years ago as proof that he is evil.  Not even considering he might have changed.  Again, they add the disclaimer, “but I don’t hate him.”

But my favorite criticisms came from those who said:

-This is why young people won’t listen to us.

-The article is divisive to the Body of Christ.

-Stay out of politics.  No politician or party can be used of God.

Thank God they’re wrong about young people.  I hold nothing back and it just makes more of them show up.  I give them direct appeals and they come to Jesus.  It’s a canard to say youth don’t want to hear this.

What is divisive to one looks like God separating the sheep and the goats to another.  A core of believers is rising that is finished with the lukewarm church.  Lukewarm-ness is a good thing to be divided from.

If you think God can’t work through a political leader think again.  If you think politics has no place in spiritual warfare think again.  When the hard left took possession of the Democratic Party, the first thing they did was throw the church out.

Who changed traditional marriage?  Who champions—not only abortion—late-term abortion?  Who puts Christian bakers out of business?  Who is ignores MS-13 because they are immigrants?  Who espouses bans on prayer, conservative speakers on campus, confiscation of guns, makes “F—Trump! a mantra” a statement, one Democratic columnist said, “was worthy of the Pulitzer Prize.”

We have never faced such a hate-filled mob of media elites, Hollywood hypocrites, and God-hating extremists—hell-bent on crushing the Gospel of Jesus Christ in America.

Stop living in the past.  The day of civil discourse from the left is long gone.  Journalism is dead.

I know saying this will make heads explode: but in all this madness of globalism, and George Soros-funded tyranny, Trump is a momentary reprieve from God—an imperfect vessel notwithstanding.  He is a stop-gap buying time for the church to act.  And it’s disastrous for the church to ignore it.  If nothing else, he defeated Hillary Clinton.

Never mind the dinky stuff.  Look at the policies and the laws he is undoing and the ones he prevents—laws and policies that would muzzle the church and will build a godless nation for your children and grandchildren.  Trump is a firewall.

When you say that God can’t use politicians you are saying only the devil can.

God’s catalysts can come in strange packages…ranging from the bizarre, to the coarse.  Samson, Saul of Tarsus, and even General Patton come to mind.  Often, they offended sensibilities, barged in where others feared to go.

The devil has the American church groggy on the goodness of God without the needed balance of the holiness of God—holiness that leads to authority—authority to rise and tear down cultural strongholds of Satan through moral awakening.

Trumps is buying us time.  Seizing the time?  Well, that’s our job.

God is selecting people and working in them for unmatched power to attack evil.

Satan is flooding the world with evil while Christians have grown passive.  Believers are ignorant of what God expects them to do to stand against the torrent of wickedness.

Shallow, flattering teaching is the perfect greenhouse gas.  It’s fumes dull reality. It kills natural urgency.  Taking a stand becomes a distant fantasy.

Satan has sold the church fool’s gold.  Instead of taking up weapons mighty to the tearing down of strongholds, we pursue money, cheap grace, and celebrity.

Our faith has grown flabby. We don’t know our weapons.  We don’t know our authority.  We don’t know our marching orders.  We don’t know what to say to this generation.  Most of all, we are ignorant about what is right around the corner.

Peter recognized when government crossed the line.  Acts 4: 19 But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges! 20 As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

He also understood what to do when government tries to ban the Gospel: “Acts 5: 28 saying, “Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man’s blood on us!”

29 But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men.”

They are coming after your freedom.  They will force feed your children the Antichrist agenda. That is…unless we wake up to our purpose and destiny.   I am calling you out for special power in this hour.

If you are finally ready, then do these things:

1. You must be filled or refilled with the Holy Spirit.  You must have fire, or you must have fresh fire.   The courage to face the onslaught of hatred that will be thrown at you can never be met by human power.  To say what you need to say, to obey when you need to obey can’t come from human motivation.  You must have the same Spirit that fueled world-changing saints in all times. God never meant for anyone to preach or lead without a clear baptism of the Holy Spirit.

2. You must flow in signs and wonders.  Our culture is beyond words.  They must see proof of the power of God.  God means for you to provide that proof.  The authority you need won’t come cheaply or instantly.  (Read my blog on the price of God’s miracle working power https://wp.me/p1vrzp-53e

3. Get ready to do something for God that will boggle your mind.  God is selecting people and working in them for unmatched power to attack evil.  Habakkuk 1: 5 “Look among the nations and watch—Be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days Which you would not believe, though it were told you.”

He is creating people who can turn the tide of wickedness.  He doesn’t care about your age or your education.  He searches for someone who is travailing over the evil and will die without power and purpose.  They want to be in the fight—they want to be in the thick of it.  Isaiah 6: 8 says, “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”

4. Prepare to pray in a way you never imagined.  God is pulling you out of the damaged religious crowd into special intimacy with him.  You are not going to pray like before.  E.M Bounds said, “To say prayers in a decent, delicate way is not heavy work. But to pray really, to pray till hell feels the ponderous stroke, to pray till the iron gates of difficulty are opened, till the mountains of obstacles are removed, till the mists are exhaled and the clouds are lifted, and the sunshine of a cloudless day brightens-this is hard work, but it is God’s work, and man’s best labor.”

What do all of these things I am asking you to do have in common?  Every one of them involves a leap out of dead church life.  They are a courageous declaration of war on the godless ideologies that are destroying our nation.  They are an irrevocable decision to be in the middle of God’s greatest acts in history.

It is time for a new breed of Christian warrior

Day after day, I have written the burden of the Lord.  Often, the words have been directed at leaders.  The messages have targeted shallowness, compromise and hypocrisy.  They have accused leaders of gross negligence in the face of Satan’s assault on the church and the nation.

This time the message is for faithful warriors of God.  Something is burning within my soul.  Everything within me cries IT IS TIME FOR A NEW BREED OF CHRISTIAN WARRIOR.

Evil will soon feel their wrath and power.

Who are these people and what do they look like?  The Bible says God knows those who are His.  He knows who has remained true.  He knows who has been rejected for refusing to conform to the counterfeits.  God made them misfits to fit into a special order.

Jehovah has reserved hidden wisdom for them.  Psalm 25:14 says, “The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, And He will show them His covenant.”  In this message I want to encourage you and fire you up for the secret work of Jesus in this hour.

A visit to the throne of God

You want to become a part of this new breed?  You must begin with a visit to the throne of God.  It is here…and only here, that you can be equipped for the amazing task ahead.  Not only is this visit possible it is mandatory—it is scriptural.

Ephesians 2: 6 says “and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus…”

What do you see from this vantage point?  You see that Satan has as much chance against God as an amoeba has surviving on the surface of the sun.  But what else do you see?

You see that all the vile railings of our culture are not—in any way—a threat to the purposes of the almighty.  He knows the hollow arguments of the haters.  He is not moved by the mental monopoly of fake news and leftist social media.  He saw it all coming and prepared the response.

The Lord of the universe is not poor.  He has pooled untold wealth to transfer it into the hands of trusted, proven, purified vessels whose only passion is to obey.  Jesus saw the future and uttered an explosive prayer: PRAY THE LORD OF THE HARVEST TO SEND WORKERS INTO THE HARVEST.

Notice He did not say ministers, or celebrities.  He said workers.  Many want the titles, attention, and rewards…but they don’t want to do the work.  A special core is rising that burns white hot with passion win lost souls and heal the sick.  They are hidden now but soon they will shine like the sun.

Learning to ask for big and mighty things.

Those who are called to this new breed of spiritual warfare will ask and receive things that prior generations could not imagine.  Simply put, we are talking about awesome things!

To become the askers, they need to be, they will be tested severely in order to come forth as gold.  Their claims will not be elementary claims for personal pleasure but for massive changes in the culture.  They will exploit demons, they will strip principalities of power and authority.

Learn the truth of the slingshot.

They will be hurt, wounded and brought to the brink of despair before their breakthrough.  In their pain and agony, they will cry out why—why am I being pulled away from my promise?  Why does each day take me further and further away from what you promised me?

God is deliberately building up the tension—the frustration—the fire to act…and at just the right moment, He will release you.

I don’t need to ask if you are a part of this new breed of warrior—nothing else explains you.

Mighty Warrior: A word from the Lord for you.

You were led into a relationship with Jesus where you no longer fit in anywhere.  What thrilled others left you scratching your head, wondering how they could be so easily satisfied.
You feel the evil and the blasphemy.  You are grieved to see God’s name and honor smeared both inside and outside the church.  You wondered “how long Lord?”  How long before I can take up the sword of the Lord and bring wrath down on demons?
You have wondered what is happening to you.  It seems that everything the enemy has is being thrown at you.  Many have pulled away from you—including those you have trusted for years—not understanding the path that you have chosen.
People made big promises to you that turned out to be a puff of smoke.  You were left empty at the very moment you believed a great breakthrough was coming.
God promised you something when you began this journey; but now it all seems like a cruel fantasy.  You have cried to the Lord “why have you awakened this hope in me if this will never come to pass.”  You dared not even tell your family and closest friends your true feelings.
Do you want to understand what is happening to you right now?  While you weren’t looking, God reached down and did important work inside you. God tested you in the furnace for holy reasons.
A great self-emptying is in progress.  Heaven is asking questions about you and the furnace is answering them.
-He is making you someone can be trusted with great influence and power.
-He is making you someone who has freely received and will freely give.
-He is making you someone who will be so focused and determined that you will never quit.
-He is making you someone who obeys only God—who only goes forth at the command of God—who gives all credit and glory to God.
Let not the darkness of this hour rush your preparation.  Fear not!  It will not be too late by the time of your breakthrough.
Is this the darkest it has ever been?  Does it seem it can get no worse?  Then beloved, consider the intensity of this attack as a sign that your breakthrough is at hand…the devil saves the worst for last, but God saves the best for last.
Isaiah 55: 8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.
10 “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater,
11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
12 “For you shall go out with joy,
And be led out with peace;
The mountains and the hills
Shall break forth into singing before you,
And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree,
And instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree;
And it shall be to the Lord for a name,
For an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.”

Peace Through Victory

The lesson we learn from Trump’s dismantling of Iran’s blackmail is in a simple phrase: Peace through victory.
Look at his critics. They falsely accuse him of making the world more dangerous.  The truth is, Obama—with his foreign policy of weakness and capitulation—made the word dangerous.
Obama continually gave things away, got nothing in return, and increased contempt for America.
By refusing to accept nothing less than victory, Trump brought North Korea and South Korea together.   Trump offered nothing to North Korea to get this peace.
Arthur Matthews saw the future.  It is almost as if he saw Obama.  Look at what he wrote and pay special attention to a question he asks the church:
“Old Testament examples of prayer at work portray most dramatically for us the believer’s authority over all the power of God’s enemies.  There is a finality that will not be gainsaid in the way the superior strength of alien armies is disposed of as God’s servants.
This finality is not seen in the political bargaining that characterizes our day.  Compromises are made, peace treaties are signed, and the peacemakers move to other danger spots; but the fighting still goes on.  Are we allowing our disillusionment with the world’s acclaimed peacemakers to influence our thinking on spiritual warfare?  Are we really convinced our call is to spiritual welfare and peace through victory?”
Obama’s weak approach is the legacy of liberal thinking.  Victory is not possible. The best we can hope for is a tenuous treaty.  Nothing is settled.  The undercurrent of defeatism is in many liberal policies.  Liberalism seeks the half-cure for everything.

Christian leaders need to examine themselves for hypocrisy.  While condemning leftist ideology they unwittingly agree to its defeatism.
Have we allowed Obama style defeatism to influence our approach to spiritual warfare?
Let’s look at examples in prayer and revival.  We don’t really believe they are forces that can change our world.  It shows in what we are saying and doing.  We really don’t lead prayer as if it had power to change society.  We don’t preach revival because we can’t image our people really being willing to pay the price.
Peace through victory always means calling someone’s bluff.  Trump did that to Iran.  Christians leaders must learn to do that to Satan.  Call his bluff.  Tell him he’s the defeated one!  Behave like Jesus won on the Cross.
Listen again to Arthur Matthews: “In any situation where Satan dominates and threatens, God looks for a man through whom he may declare war on the enemy.  He purposes that through this man Satan be served notice to back up, pack up, and clear out.”

The two greatest enemies of prayer and revival are the preachers who express their unbelief in one of two extremes:
-They are soft on sin because they don’t believe in the power of God to change sinners.  Their gospel is diluted down to the level they believe people will accept.
-They preach gloom and doom—not because they see it in the Book of Revelation—but because they can’t imagine a great revival in the last days.
Peace through victory calls the devil’s bluff on the biggest level.  It declares that the Earth can still be enveloped by a massive act of God.
By holding to a policy of peace through victory, Trump has already seen results no one could have imagined.  It is time for Christian leaders to repent of their defeatism and embrace the power of prayer to make tangible changes in the hearts of men and women and to impact world events.
Once again, Arthur Matthews: “It is the man who prays who exercises supremacy even over international situations.  Men are going to have to acknowledge the peace will not be brought through politicians, but through the intercessor who has learned to wage spiritual warfare and wins peace over the principalities and powers in high places.”

Punishing church members because they want a move of God

A growing number of Christians feel their church is doing a lot of things that don’t matter.  Even successful programs don’t matter to them.  They believe only a move of God can save us now.
They believe we have no time to play games.  They are frustrated that church is catering to the lukewarm members.  Most of all, they feel that they are being punished for wanting a move of God.
I want to direct myself toward leaders who are guilty of correcting members who yearn for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.  You’ve got it totally backwards.  Those who are hungry for a move of God are the best thing that ever happened to your church.
If you wounded a hungry saint’s heart, it was a spectacular mistake.  They, and not the lukewarm, should be setting the tone for your church.
Somewhere, we got the idea—I believe it came from the pit of hell—that exuberant worship, preaching with unction and conviction, fiery prayer meetings, and deliberate soul winning are the “old ways.”

They are not old ways—they are timeless ways.  In fact, they transcend time.  They are the chosen weapons.
You never made Satan smile wider than when you punished someone in your congregation for wanting a move of God.
Where did you get the idea that a move of God was a bad thing?  Let me guess…you heard it from a Bible College professor who can’t do it, therefore he teaches.  Or you got from a church growth expert.  You can’t fool me.  I have read those manuals.  Some even tell you to run the people out who desire an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
The best people in the church love this verse: 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”  They refer to it often.
They yearn for the miracle that will stop America’s slide toward oblivion—they wish for an act of the Holy Spirit so real and widespread that it impacts, crime, injustice, addiction, and despair.
You may be punishing people God is stirring.  You may be trying to put out a flame that God lit in their heart.
I think I know the biggest reason you may be punishing people who seek revival:  You doubt it can happen.  You doubt it is for today.  Listen carefully to me: not only can God do it…the fact that your people are being stirred is a sign that God is trying to start revival fire.
Here’s what forever killed my doubts about revival.  Matthew 12: 20 A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench, Till He sends forth justice to victory.”
Jesus will not snuff out the least flicker of revival.  When anyone asks for revival from a pure heart, God says yes and begins the process.  He takes you at your word.  As I stood on the beach the gentle foam of the ocean lapped over my toes.  The voice of the Lord said, “this gentle wave is the cousin of the tsunami.”
The smallest flame in the smallest church will not be quenched by Jesus.  Given the proper opportunity, the Spirit of God will fan it into a raging fire of righteousness.  The gentlest wave can grow into a tidal wave before anyone who simply hosts God’s presence, obeys His step by step orders, and refuses to abuse what God is doing among them.
The first step is to stop punishing those wonderful people who are hungry for the Holy Spirit to fall on your church.

THE WAR ON REPENTANCE

Destroying America is one of Satan’s highest priorities.  The thought of a post-American world makes him giddy with delight. He can’t plunge the earth into utter darkness while the United States is a world power.  That’s why he’s labored so tediously, and forcefully to bring down our nation.

His great obstacle is the praying church.  They stop him dead in his tracks.

His only hope is to fool the the church into defeating itself.  Satan has studied the Bible and the church for millennia.  He knows our Achilles heel.  He finally found the right tactic: bury the doctrine of repentance.  He used cheap grace to do it.

The following are two quotes on cheap grace.  One is from Joseph Prince and the other is from Detrick Bonhoeffer. They are direct quotes.  They reveal a startling contrast.

Joseph Prince said, “His grace is cheapened when you think that He has only forgiven you of your sins up to the time you got saved, and after that point, you have to depend on your confession of sins to be forgiven. God’s forgiveness is not given in installments.”

Dietrich Bonhoeffer said, “cheap grace is the grace we bestow on ourselves. Cheap grace is the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance, baptism without church discipline, Communion without confession…Cheap grace is grace without discipleship, grace without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ, living and incarnate.”

The first is saying we cheapen grace by repenting.   The second is saying we cheapen grace by not repenting.

Which one do you believe?  I believe Bonhoeffer who—by the Grace of God—faced down Hitler.  Actually, there’s no choice…Jesus not only taught us to repent, He taught us to do it daily.

In Luke 11, Jesus said, “when you pray.”  How often are we supposed to pray?  Everyday.   What is in that prayer? : “forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.” That is repentance.

The war on repentance—and the cheap grace that started the war—is vividly portrayed in 1 Corinthians 5.  A sin in the church was so outrageous, even the pagans had never heard of it:  A man had taken his mother as his wife.

Even though it brought shame on the church, the leaders did not want to correct this man.  They declared war on repentance.

Was it because he was a popular personality?

Matthew Henry said, “He might be a man of great eloquence, of deep science, and for this reason very greatly esteemed, and followed, and cried up, by many among them. They were proud that they had such a leader. Instead of mourning for his fall, and their own reproach upon his account, and renouncing him and removing him from the society, they continued to applaud him and pride themselves in him.”

Do you really think the American Church is any less guilty of covering sin in order to protect a celebrity?  Who among us has not heard of rampant immorality?  Who among us has not seen popular leaders caught in gross sin, given a slap in the wrist and quickly returned to their pulpit?   The justification is a mantra that has become so tiresome: “grace covers all of this, I don’t need to repent.”

There are many godly men and women in ministry in America.  But there is also a club of leaders who cover for one another’s sins.  They trade pulpits, they live in regal splendor, and they protect their people from the rightful demands of God.

Paul was horrified by the wicked behavior of the leaders in Corinth.  It had trashed their reputation in the city.  Paul was so grieved that he ordered them to turn the man over to Satan for the destruction of his flesh so that his soul might be saved.

Where are the men and women of God today who are horrified by unfettered carnality?   Where is the pastor who is responsible for the young man who currently preaches using liberal portions of obscene language boasting of his deliverance from “Evangelical Christianity?”

Paul brought such swift and supernatural correction that it produced godly sorrow.  And you know what… he was glad, for their sorrow produced life.  In 2 Corinthians 7:9 he said, “Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance.”  How can anyone read that and say  we never need to repent?

Their war on repentance is more evil and dangerous than you know. They have disarmed a truth that is central to saving our nation.  They have done it to control people and hold on to power that all rightfully belongs to Jesus.   It is so dangerous that God’s hand must expose this falsehood.  He must bring down strongholds of counterfeit Christianity, and restore biblical authority.

But something good will come of it.  Look for nobodies to step up in awesome power like Paul.  They will rebuke this insane foolishness and release the soldiers of Christ to true authority and levels of power we have not seen.

Small churches will be chosen to turn the tide.  Vessels too humble to image promotion will indeed be promoted.

Nevertheless, God has stopped winking at the war on repentance.  He will punish those who kept the church from “turning from their wicked ways.”  The sword is even laid at the root.  God will not let America die at the hands of those who are fighting to keep us from repentance.
