ENTITLEMENT AND ESCAPISM

Something is coming and the church is not ready. In recent days God has been trying to warn the American church about what is coming, but, what have we done with these warnings?

I heard one preacher exclaim, “Teaching that anything bad is coming, is defeatism.” He refused to give his children a defeatist world view. What he thinks is love is the ultimate abuse. His children will not be ready.

It’s not as if God hasn’t warned the American church that perilous times are coming. One choice instrument was David Wilkerson. Many listened to his predictions, but many others wrote him off as an angry prophet.

I dare you to reread his words, go back and watch his videos, they are still on YouTube. David will come across completely different to you now. Now that libraries are bringing in drag queens to read to children. Now that abortion is no longer just a ‘right,’ but a cause for celebration. Now that our halls of power are sewers of falsehood, betrayal, ambition, greed, and lust, and now that the very fabric of civilized society is unraveling.

I dare you to call him legalistic, now that you can see that exactly what he predicted is happening.  Now that you see churches have abandoned the Bible.  Now that every day you hear of one more minister condoning materialism and promoting a ‘cheap grace’ that covers lust. Disdaining holiness and denying the existence of Hell. Just as he predicted, there is an epidemic of preachers who are addicted to drugs, alcohol, and pornography.

Our young daughters have unwelcome transgender visitors in the girl’s restroom at school.  We are a nation of drug addicts. Tens of thousands die every year from opioids.

The bane of Modern Christianity can be summed up in just 2 words: Entitlement and Escapism.

Go back with me to a time before all this madness, and see when a sense of entitlement began to infect the church.

No one got saved in the early church because they were promised a lavish life. Each convert knew from the jump they would pay a price for following Jesus. They embraced Christ because something real happened to them. They knew—beyond knowing—that He was the Truth and the Life.  Knowing Him was infinitely worth the cost. All they wanted was Jesus.

It is ironic that we tend to feel sorry for them, when in fact they would pity us! Yes, they were persecuted, but God was real in them. Their clarity unlocked something most of us do not have: inexpressible peace and joy.

Entitlement rolled into church like a Trojan horse. Certain preachers, like all good marketers, considered true discipleship a hard sell, so they replaced it with perks, inducements and flattery. Church became one giant participation trophy. The unspoken boast was, “What have we to do with self-denial? What have we to prepare for?” We as American Christians became too good for suffering. That was for other people, in other nations.

What edge did believers in the first century have over us? A massive one. They could survive anything that they encountered, whereas many today will be taken out the moment something happens that their pastor said God would never let happen.

Since ancient Christians expected to suffer, suffering never threw them for a loop. It never dawned on them that they would escape trials and tribulations. Because of that, they had a singular power that we don’t: the power to glory and thrive in evil times.  Compare that with today’s Christian whose idea of spiritual warfare is claiming a parking space.

This is the person Jesus warned us about in Matthew 13:20, “But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.”

The shocking thing will not just be how many entitled believers will stumble, but how little it will take to make them stumble.

Now let’s talk about escapism. The world that vessels like Billy Graham, Oral Roberts, Kenneth Hagin, Steve Hill, and yes, David Wilkerson warned us about is here. The world that your favorite pulpit babysitter promised would never come—came anyway.

We didn’t escape. We have already witnessed this mass tragedy. Life has taken a turn in these United States that many churchgoers never believed could or would happen. There has been a falling away: because so many were ignorant, so many were offended.

Even many of the Christians who remained faithful, express their escapist denial in many ways. Instead of searching the scriptures for truth, they delve even deeper into teachings that now look silly. They want more materialism; they want more entitlement; they plunge into more false teachings and false ways. They go heavier into emotionalism. Their escapism is expressed in a sanctimonious tone, and then they lie about their reasons for believing they will escape all suffering.  They say we must stay out of politics and not choose sides, even as it has become undeniable that we must take a stand. Instead, they bury their head in the sand and are oblivious as evil takes away our freedom and our children’s future.

Escapism is what gives them a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof. Denial is why they imitate New Age teachings and make prophecy into a kind of game. But David Wilkerson also saw something else: A fresh and mighty move of the Spirit. He saw Jesus pulling people aside to enter into a close relationship with Him, and to instill in them the power needed to save this nation.  He said, “God is revealing to all praying people that a glorious new work of the Spirit is about to break forth. God is going to shake everything that can be shaken. He will tear down the old political, backslidden, ecclesiastical system. He will disown the formal, super-church structure. He will chase out of His presence all those who are engaging in self-promoting ministries.”

Many will fall, but many will rise to levels of power and usefulness that are astounding. God not only knew the insanity of today was coming—He took steps to prepare a special relationship that would produce special powers in His Children.  You already know who you are.

God is taking you aside to give you nation-saving power and skills. All glory to His Name!

MY MOM

I have seen blind eyes opened, and paralyzed limbs healed, but for me this is the greatest healing I have ever seen. Let me tell you the story.

(Editors Note: This testimony was first shared on July 24th 2019.  It is reposted because she is still cancer free and for another reason we will explain at the end.)

It all began with a devastating phone call. The woman on the other end told me a tragic story. She raised eight children in the ghetto. She endured unspeakable trials. She had faithfully served Christ and prayed diligently for each of her children. What she could not give them in material things, she more than made up for with her love.

She cleared her throat, and haltingly told me of the doctor’s report.  It sounded like a death sentence. They had found cancer in her chest which had also spread to her back and her lymph nodes.

She faced a terrible choice.  Chemotherapy would be utterly horrible because she was so thin and she is in her late 80s. But, without chemo, she faced a slow, agonizing, and certain death by cancer.

I was aware of her condition from the very beginning of her ordeal. This call hit me so hard that I could feel my knees buckle. Why you ask? This call was from my mother Cristina Murillo.

All of her sons, daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were grief stricken. We all knew that her death would leave a crater of sorrow for all of us that would be beyond words.

Something rose up in me. My mom and I began praying over the phone. I felt a holy rage, like I had never known, rising within my spirit. My words were not just forceful, they were volcanic. I knew that Satan was challenging my family and that fear was trying to consume us.

I came to Jesus on behalf of my mom. Then I spoke to her and went through the Word of God declaring her healing. I felt bold to tell her to resist the devil and rebuke the cancer. I told her she would be tested, but to stand strong on the promises of God.  Heaven overshadowed us, and the presence of God was undeniable.

Something happened to her. Her fear vanished. Her sense of focus and determination was super-human.

The next few weeks were a trial by fire, but she was amazing—confessing the Word, rebuking every negative thought, and standing strong.

Then came that fateful day when she went to see her doctor. The doctor ran the routine tests to monitor the size of the cancer. Later that day, I got her call.

My mother told me that when the doctor came back with the results, it was shocking. The red-faced doctor said, “I can’t find any cancer. None at all.” My mom smiled at the doctor, and explained what had happened.  Then my mom witnessed to her about the healing power of Christ.

Our family is overcome by the goodness and mercy of God. No one else gets the credit or the glory for this astonishing miracle.

Editor’s post script: I reposted this testimony because we are about to open a miracle tent crusade in Hanford, CA. We will have the tent up and are asking the Body of Christ to bring those that need miracles to the tent.  As part of my celebration of this great miracle, I want your prayer requests. Just because we are celebrating does not mean we have forgotten the many who are warring against sickness. We want to pray for you and for those you love to receive a healing miracle.  Please leave a prayer request in the comments section. We will pray!

GOD PROMISED TO DO SOMETHING BIG THROUGH YOU

God promised to do something big you.  You see the darkness gathering.  The clouds of wickedness overtake the land. And there you sit, wanting desperately to be used of God.  You want your gifts to be released.  You want your vision to grow and prosper.  Yet, it feels like a glass wall is holding you back.  What can you do?  Avoid these three mistakes:

1. Know the difference: Entitlement versus Expectation.

When Jesus said that one who is faithful over a little will be faithful over much, it is both a warning and a promise.  I believe it warns us about two attitudes: Entitlement and Expectation.  These look alike but they are polar opposites.

Entitlement tells you to wait until you are in a job that is worthy of your talents before you give it your best. When the ‘entitled’ take a position that they feel is ‘beneath’ them, they work as if they are just passing through.  This always backfires because there are always at least two people watching you.  The first one is your current boss. If they sense that you feel ‘entitled’ and deserve more, they are already looking for your replacement.  The other One Who is always watching you is unseen, and has the power to promote you and to bless you.

Zechariah 4:10 asks, “Who has despised the day of small beginnings?” The answer is, the entitled.  Entitlement makes small beginnings sting.  Great works of God start small and require hard work.  Entitlement doubles your load.  You not only face the hard work that always accompanies success, but you are also grieving over results that are probably better than what should have been expected.  The warning in that phrase, ‘he who is faithful over little will be faithful over much,’ is this: if you are not faithful over little, you will never get to be “over much!”

Expectation gives joy and confidence that God’s blessing is inevitable.   The woman with the issue of blood said within herself, “If I may touch His garment I shall be made well.” [Matt. 19:22].  Expectation finds beauty in the smallest task because God is in the task.  Expectation says, “Keep going, I can get there from here!”  Expectation is a bulldozer that plows under the most discouraging mounds of adversity and setbacks. The promise of Jesus is, ‘he who is faithful over little will be faithful over much.’  God will remember those who were faithful.  He will promote them to bigger things.

2. Go out only at the command of God.  This quote is from God Calling, by A. J. Russell: The world has always seen service for Me to be activity.  Only those near to Me have seen that a life apart, of prayer, may, and does so often, accomplish more than all of the service man can offer Me. If man lived apart with Me and only went out to serve at My direct command My Spirit could operate more and accomplish truly mighty things.”

3. Stop human striving in order to do mighty things. Stopping seems foolish until you look closely at the demands of your day and question your motivations.  Why do you do these things?  You will see things that other people are saying you must do.  You will see things that you only think are vital.  You will see things that you are doing that only God can do. Martha complained to Jesus that her sister Mary should be helping her more.  Jesus said, “She has chosen the better part.” Let God’s inspiration take the place of your own aspiration.

The world doesn’t need ‘supermen’—it needs ‘supernatural men.’  It needs people who will persistently refuse to work by Human Effort and, instead, allow Divine Power to work through them.  Do not fear unemployment! God wants to work through you. He always has plenty of work that needs to be done, and He always pays His workers well!

Mario has a new book! Listen to what Pastor John Kilpatrick, who led the Pensacola Revival, said about Mario’s  book:
“As I read the manuscript for Mario Murillo’s new book, Vessels of Fire and Glory, I said to myself, “Finally!” Mario has measured the church and the nation in this season and did not hold anything back. His honesty is like the sun rising inside a dark cave. This release is a paradox—it is sobering and refreshing; it is symptoms and the cure. I believe this revivalist has penned a treatise that should be in the hands of all who lead the work of God.”

A BIG ANNOUNCEMENT

It’s been a year that has produced so many breakthroughs for Mario Murillo Ministries. But now we bring you a very big piece of news. Mario was asked to undertake a project…something he has not done in over 25 years. When he began he felt he was in direct contact with hell. It was clear this project was uniquely hated by Satan. Now it is completed and we can offer to you Mario’s new book…

Vessels of Fire and Glory! Yes, it’s true, Mario Murillo has not written a book in 25 years.  But, with the nation at stake, God has given him a breakthrough book. And we have it for you!

Listen to what Pastor John Kilpatrick, who led the Pensacola Revival, said about Mario’s new book:
“As I read the manuscript for Mario Murillo’s new book, Vessels of Fire and Glory, I said to myself, “Finally!” Mario has measured the church and the nation in this season and did not hold anything back. His honesty is like the sun rising inside a dark cave. This release is a paradox—it is sobering and refreshing; it is symptoms and the cure. I believe this revivalist has penned a treatise that should be in the hands of all who lead the work of God.”

This book says what you have waited for someone to say.  It answers the hard questions—the questions most preachers dodge.

It comes with the hard-hitting but encouraging style that millions have come to appreciate in his daily blog.  The difference is that in this book he goes much deeper.

Here is what Perry Stone said in the foreword:
“…in this book, which is more of a manifesto, the false is exposed, the truth is declared, and the fire of hope is handed to the reader. This book will ignite the reader’s own personal God encounter that can set them on the course for the last end-time revival. Read these words and allow them to soak into your spirit and transform your thinking.”
From the jump, you will see where this book is headed.  Mario wrote in the introduction:
“Did you ever wonder why God isn’t doing something? You see America being torn apart, battered into submission, and molded into some ugly weak version of her former self. All in the name of progress. When the moral bottom society becomes the loudest voices of influence, shouldn’t God act? I believe He is acting. But it is happening in a wholly unexpected way. He is at war to save our nation. The real question is, “Are you ready to understand what your assignment is in His war to save America?”

Here are some of the section and chapter titles:

Before There Can Be a Great Awakening There Must Be a Rude Awakening.

Why Satan Must Destroy America

Modern Crimes Against the Holy Spirit

Breaking the Spell of Demons Over America

Ushering in the Next Great Awakening

YOU ARE THE VICTIM OF A PREDICTION

They put their hands over their ears to try to drown out the noise. A growing number of believers are feeling like a volcano about to erupt. They feel total disgust toward fleshly religion. They despise the impotent actions of ‘Christianity Incorporated.’  A burgeoning conviction is intensifying in them that modern pulpiteering is inadequate for these perilous times..  They know there has got to be something deeper—something that is real.  They are sick of the church in exile always apologizing, but most of all they feel an indescribable pull taking them to a secret place in God.

If that describes you, let me congratulate you.  Let me explain your condition.  You are under the influence of a bulldozer called prophecy. You are the victim of a prediction.

Your condition runs against the grain of the horrendous days we are living in. My letters and emails tell me horror stories of fear and retreat.  Dreams are being postponed or cancelled outright.  Expansion is now guilty, until proven innocent. Young people are acting like they are old and afraid. Once bold leadership-lions are retreating and looking for safe landing spots.

But there is a remnant that feels just the opposite. They sense that as hard and as dark as these times are, God is up to something big, and it is something He has had in mind for a long time. They believe they are in preparation for an inexpressible event.   I am not talking about all those other prophecies that so many are claiming to have.  This is totally different.

You probably agree that too many so-called “prophetic words” today are actually pathetic counterfeits. You reject the shenanigans of those flashy self-serving false prophets. You see through the mind-games they use to prey on the gullible.  However, you have not given up. You know there is true prophecy because it has a grip on you that won’t let go.  Here is what you need to know about prophecy.

Prophecy swallows policy. Every generation is guided by two forces: Policy and Prophecy. Policy consists of the laws and edicts of man. Prophecy always swallows policy. Christmas is a vivid example.  No doubt Caesar Augustus felt sovereign over the earth when he ordered the world to be registered.  His policy seemed to force Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem.  But policy was simply serving prophecy, namely:

“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.  (Micah 5:2).

True prophecy is a bulldozer that overrules the plans of both man and Satan.  Prophecy is the WORD which comes from the mouth of God and will prevail when all the dust settles and the smoke clears.  Each of the mad ravings of society will bow down before the purposes of God.

The bulldozer of prophecy is not moved by the mad railings of potentates and tyrants.  It is impervious to weather, economic downturns, and persecution.  The treads of prophecy roll over the plans of men, the intentions of armies, and the highest threats of mankind. Prophecy is the fire that cannot be snuffed out.  Isaiah 40:8 declares “The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever.”

Forget about everything else. Here are the questions that matter:  What has God said He would do in our time?  What has He promised?  What has He commanded?  Your passion to learn His intention for you and for this, your time, is of supreme importance.

Prophecy waits in secret—for a core that is willing to pay the price to know the secret of the Lord.

“Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.” (Amos 3:7)

“The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him; and He will show them His covenant. (Psalm 25:14)

The prophetic bulldozer creates an inner tenacity where, suddenly, the facts of daily life don’t count.  Quietness pervades your soul because you know beyond knowing that something unstoppable has begun to grow out of your closeness to Christ.

Those who are God’s secret weapons may not even know it yet.   They have no idea of the tactical wisdom and the miracle power that will enfold them at the very moment they need it.  All they know is that they are being pulled into the tabernacle of God, into the Most Holy Place.

You can feel it… a deep calling unto deep.  You have been ruined for the mediocre and deep in your heart you want to know Him…to be with Him…and stay separated unto Him for a plan that is as yet unseen.

Prophecy is even now unleashing its power.  When the enemy is least prepared, in an hour not yet seen, God’s Spirit will strike.

God is going to do something that no one can possibly fathom.  He is going to pour out a river of Life.  Some will be in the middle of it, others will miss it entirely.  None of the current events we are witnessing will foretell the might and glory that will be expressed by the Holy Spirit.

Take heart!  God has honored you by letting you live in troubled times.  The greatest vessels of God have appeared in times of calamity and confusion. Today’s trouble is your opportunity to be your best, to be more than you ever imagined you could be.  All of this is because of a bulldozer called prophecy!

Greatest Question

As you read this our tent is going up. Thousands know we are coming. A rare kind of unity exists between leaders here, and an amazing anticipation is in the air. We have more volunteers and prayer warriors for this event than any previous tent crusade. There is a buzz on the streets.

Many who are involved in this outreach are starting to talk about an awakening. They seem to sense that we could see a revival—and they don’t mean just ‘a good meeting’—they mean a moral outbreak that could sweep an entire region into the kingdom of Christ. I am talking about Dinuba, California.

So tonight I am pondering a great question: What starts a revival?

Here we are, two thousand years after the church began, and Christian theologians still don’t know what starts a revival.   Authors by the dozens release new books to tell us what the “steps for revival” are.  No sooner are they out, than the Spirit falls in a manner that totally contradicts their books.   As soon as we add a “step” to revival, God steps over our step…

Often past revivals are no help because history shows that the old revival usually opposes the new revival.  It seems dangerous to be tagged an expert on revival.  As the old rock song says, “If I claim to be a wise man then it surely means that I don’t know.”

Revivals have started in more ways than you or I can imagine.  Some began among children.  Some started in prisons. Some were touched off by the very people the church despised the most.  Has God kept us clueless about revival because He knows that anything that we can analyze we will try to control? It is certainly in us to do that, and there is no getting around it.

So why isn’t the devil happy?  We are divided, disorganized and ignorant of his devices.  There is no major threat of revival in America, am I right?  But the evil one does not relax.  Does he know something we don’t know?   Like maybe revival has never been actually caused by the church?  Does he remember how many times revivals have hit him by surprise?  Does Satan respect one aspect of revival more than we do—that revival can strike at any moment, in any place, through any believer?

Okay, let’s face it, it is truly beyond us to know how to start a revival, and Satan doesn’t know how to stop one.  That, dear pilgrim, is called an impasse.  Only God can break the tie.  So what can we do?  Brace yourself:  WE NEED TO LOOK AT GOD!

Satan is watching God more than he is watching us because we, my friend, are not the threat.  Here is a love/hate triangle:  God is looking at us, we are looking at the devil, and the devil is looking at God.

WE NEED TO LOOK AT GOD.  Get this, and you have taken a giant step forward.  We need to be watching God.  But that is so simple and obvious.  So, if it is that simple and obvious, then why aren’t we doing it?  Why in fact are we doing everything else but that?  Again, is it because Satan knows how to busy us with stuff that seems holy, but is irrelevant to revival?

Even our prayers are often not directed at God.  They are merely a set of statements we have been told to make, and statements we have been told will supposedly cause God to work.  Face it! God refuses to operate within our formulas.  He operates from a secret:  “The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, and He will show them His covenant.” (Psalm 25:14)

God is looking for a relationship with those who want revival.  Exodus 31:18 is a strange verse.  It says, “And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon Mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.”  Israel has been waiting for centuries to gain legitimacy, because with the Law comes an identity and a legacy.  So why does God instead delay it for weeks so He can commune with Moses?  Here’s the rub: You want revival, but God wants you.

Is it possible that in all of our arduous efforts we have overlooked the most amazing simplicity in the entire universe:  “If you abide in Me and My Words abide in you, you shall ask what you will and it shall be done.” (John 15:7)  Can it be that simple?

Revival is the natural result of getting so close to God that His secret takes hold and that ignites a chain reaction with others who suddenly cannot live without intimacy with God, and so and so on.

When can we know that revival has started?  In my studies, I have noticed a common denominator among the great revivalists who have led the great revivals.  They had an unshakable conviction that a revival had already started.  No matter what anyone said or did, they would not back down from the confession “revival is here!”   Much of their preaching was devoted to this conviction.

Jesus said, “Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!”  (John 4:35)

Revival-starters kept an infectious declaration going, no matter what.  Though the people around them felt that revival was months or years away, the revivalist says, “NO! IT IS ALREADY HERE!”

Again I ask, when can we know that a revival has started?  I got my answer one day at the beach when the tide was out.  Gentle white foam tickled my toes.  And the still small voice of the Lord spoke to me, “No matter how small that wave is, it is an ocean wave.  It is a relative of the tsunami.”

Yes, a tidal wave can travel at 500 miles per hour, yet it is still nothing but an ocean wave, just larger.

“A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.” (Matthew 12:20).   This verse is saturated with much meaning, but I will limit myself to the part about the smoking flax.  Jesus is not going to put out any fire, no matter how insignificant it looks, until justice is victorious.

The first time you cried out for America to be saved, God took you at your word and started a revival fire in you. The first syllable that was spoken in prayer for revival at any gathering where women prayed, began the revival.  The first time a pastor told his people how much we need revival, the spark was ignited.

The job now is to cooperate with God for bigger and bigger and bigger waves.  The tide rises as the revival core pays the price of obedience.   If they keep to the intention of the revival, it will intensify.  If they refuse the hand of man, and the ways of Baal, the waves will continue to come, in faithful and ever increasing power.

How else can I say it?  You are a revival-starter, simply by wanting more of Jesus!

Now a special video message from Mario Murillo about what starts this Sunday

TAKE BACK THE YEARS THE DEVIL HAS STOLEN FROM YOU

I was once with a great man of God who was looking back on his life and surveying the wreckage he has seen in America.  This general in the army of God sighed deeply and said, “If only I were a younger man…”  I interrupted him and said, “YOU ARE A YOUNGER MAN!”  At that moment I had nothing to back up my statement, but I felt that I had just blurted out something very important.

Not long after that, I was with an older woman who had received a great miracle of healing.  While she was grateful for her restored health, she was also regretting the years that Satan had stolen from her.

Soon after, I was listening to another saint explain how unfair it seemed that huge chunks of her life had been taken from her.  She added with regret, “I just want them back!”

Right now, a lot of people are looking back on their lives and feeling that many years have been stolen from them.  They recount scenes of besetting sin, betrayal, calamity, sickness, and just plain mistakes that have had a huge impact on their lives.

There are lots of people who are feeling a special turmoil right now.  They are torn by conflicting emotions—they are feeling like they are too tired or that it is too late to start over—while at the same time they are burning with passion to take on a new mission.

Hollywood senses this and makes films like RED: Retired and Extremely Dangerous that touches this need for revenge on the past.  There is a right way to do this. This is not for personal gain bur by the vengeance of our God.

However this turmoil is far from just a crisis that is felt by those who are older in years.  Many young believers struggle with the sense that something has swept in like a swarm of locusts and robbed not just their past, but their future.  Dreams are held in limbo, and they live feeling like they are trapped in a holding pattern and that they are losing valuable time.

Joel 2:25 says, “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust.”

So what does that mean?  Can we be renewed like the eagle? Can we get back the years that the enemy has stolen?

The answer is: WE NOT ONLY CAN, BUT WE MUST!

In that moment when I exclaimed to that man of God, “YOU ARE A YOUNGER MAN!” it was not clear to me what I was actually saying.  Now I realize that the Holy Spirit does want to give us back the years that Satan has stolen!

Here is how:

1. Wait on God for specific fire to burn out spiritual fatigue and regret. Isaiah 40:31, “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

It is time for you to get up and get going! But to do so, you will need to make some bold moves and big decisions.  Realize that it is not so much that your body is tired, as your spirit.  Go to war in prayer! And specifically, claim, seize hold of, and seek God’s promise that He will fuel and direct those who wait on Him.

2. Do not merely settle for restored energy—what you are after is a total revolution in your mind and body.  Some of what you have suffered in your past has been because you have not been bold, but timid.   You went along with things and you did not make the demands on life that were just, right, and Biblical.  Now you must boldly press into the promises found in God’s Word. And you must also apply God’s grace.  You will now say, ‘No’ to things that you once said, ‘Yes’ to.

Repeat after me: “No, I am not too old.  No, I am not going to sit still.  No, it is not too late!”

Conversely, you will now say, ‘Yes’ to things that you once said, ‘No’ to!

“Yes, I can do it!  Yes, I can finish my race! Yes, I can do all the things that Christ gives me strength for!”

Here is what your new attitude must look like:

Joshua 14:10, “And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since the Lord spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old. 11 As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out (to war) and for coming (back) in.”

3. You get back the years that you have lost by now receiving an abundance of years!  Locusts destroyed Israel’s crops because of judgment.  The damage ate up years of crops.  What God promised in Joel was: “I will restore the years.”  God promised that you shall be comforted according to the time that you have been afflicted, and shall have years of plenty that will more than make up for the years of famine.

There is a similar passage in one of the few Psalms written by Moses, Psalm 90.  In it, Moses is asking for equal time. 15 “Make us glad in proportion to the days in which You have afflicted us, and to the years in which we have suffered evil.”

This is not just added time, but it is added results that will put your life back in the plus column:  Haggai 2:9, “The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former,” says the Lord of Hosts; “And in this place will I grant you peace…”

Not just added time, but long life that satisfies: Psalm 91:15, “He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation.”

4. Live to leave something for the next generation. Psalm 71:18, “Now also, when I am old and gray headed, O God, do not forsake me, until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to everyone who is to come.”

I believe that great men and women have been kept alive by their passion to impart a legacy to the next generation.  So long as they stubbornly mentored, imparted, and wrote great works of wisdom, it kept them alive.

The bottom line is, you are not done—not by a long shot.  Pray, plan, and pursue God, expecting to receive unique gifts that will help us all to overcome the evil of our time!
