ENTITLEMENT AND ESCAPISM

Something is coming and the church is not ready. In recent days God has been trying to warn the American church about what is coming, but, what have we done with these warnings?

I heard one preacher exclaim, “Teaching that anything bad is coming, is defeatism.” He refused to give his children a defeatist world view. What he thinks is love is the ultimate abuse. His children will not be ready.

It’s not as if God hasn’t warned the American church that perilous times are coming. One choice instrument was David Wilkerson. Many listened to his predictions, but many others wrote him off as an angry prophet.

I dare you to reread his words, go back and watch his videos, they are still on YouTube. David will come across completely different to you now. Now that libraries are bringing in drag queens to read to children. Now that abortion is no longer just a ‘right,’ but a cause for celebration. Now that our halls of power are sewers of falsehood, betrayal, ambition, greed, and lust, and now that the very fabric of civilized society is unraveling.

I dare you to call him legalistic, now that you can see that exactly what he predicted is happening.  Now that you see churches have abandoned the Bible.  Now that every day you hear of one more minister condoning materialism and promoting a ‘cheap grace’ that covers lust. Disdaining holiness and denying the existence of Hell. Just as he predicted, there is an epidemic of preachers who are addicted to drugs, alcohol, and pornography.

Our young daughters have unwelcome transgender visitors in the girl’s restroom at school.  We are a nation of drug addicts. Tens of thousands die every year from opioids.

The bane of Modern Christianity can be summed up in just 2 words: Entitlement and Escapism.

Go back with me to a time before all this madness, and see when a sense of entitlement began to infect the church.

No one got saved in the early church because they were promised a lavish life. Each convert knew from the jump they would pay a price for following Jesus. They embraced Christ because something real happened to them. They knew—beyond knowing—that He was the Truth and the Life.  Knowing Him was infinitely worth the cost. All they wanted was Jesus.

It is ironic that we tend to feel sorry for them, when in fact they would pity us! Yes, they were persecuted, but God was real in them. Their clarity unlocked something most of us do not have: inexpressible peace and joy.

Entitlement rolled into church like a Trojan horse. Certain preachers, like all good marketers, considered true discipleship a hard sell, so they replaced it with perks, inducements and flattery. Church became one giant participation trophy. The unspoken boast was, “What have we to do with self-denial? What have we to prepare for?” We as American Christians became too good for suffering. That was for other people, in other nations.

What edge did believers in the first century have over us? A massive one. They could survive anything that they encountered, whereas many today will be taken out the moment something happens that their pastor said God would never let happen.

Since ancient Christians expected to suffer, suffering never threw them for a loop. It never dawned on them that they would escape trials and tribulations. Because of that, they had a singular power that we don’t: the power to glory and thrive in evil times.  Compare that with today’s Christian whose idea of spiritual warfare is claiming a parking space.

This is the person Jesus warned us about in Matthew 13:20, “But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.”

The shocking thing will not just be how many entitled believers will stumble, but how little it will take to make them stumble.

Now let’s talk about escapism. The world that vessels like Billy Graham, Oral Roberts, Kenneth Hagin, Steve Hill, and yes, David Wilkerson warned us about is here. The world that your favorite pulpit babysitter promised would never come—came anyway.

We didn’t escape. We have already witnessed this mass tragedy. Life has taken a turn in these United States that many churchgoers never believed could or would happen. There has been a falling away: because so many were ignorant, so many were offended.

Even many of the Christians who remained faithful, express their escapist denial in many ways. Instead of searching the scriptures for truth, they delve even deeper into teachings that now look silly. They want more materialism; they want more entitlement; they plunge into more false teachings and false ways. They go heavier into emotionalism. Their escapism is expressed in a sanctimonious tone, and then they lie about their reasons for believing they will escape all suffering.  They say we must stay out of politics and not choose sides, even as it has become undeniable that we must take a stand. Instead, they bury their head in the sand and are oblivious as evil takes away our freedom and our children’s future.

Escapism is what gives them a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof. Denial is why they imitate New Age teachings and make prophecy into a kind of game. But David Wilkerson also saw something else: A fresh and mighty move of the Spirit. He saw Jesus pulling people aside to enter into a close relationship with Him, and to instill in them the power needed to save this nation.  He said, “God is revealing to all praying people that a glorious new work of the Spirit is about to break forth. God is going to shake everything that can be shaken. He will tear down the old political, backslidden, ecclesiastical system. He will disown the formal, super-church structure. He will chase out of His presence all those who are engaging in self-promoting ministries.”

Many will fall, but many will rise to levels of power and usefulness that are astounding. God not only knew the insanity of today was coming—He took steps to prepare a special relationship that would produce special powers in His Children.  You already know who you are.

God is taking you aside to give you nation-saving power and skills. All glory to His Name!

Christian Leaders are saying lies about you

The one thing you want to do in 2020 is to defeat evil.  And evil is about to take a nasty turn—a turn you need to beware of. The hate is going to turn away from Trump to you—specifically Christians who support Trump.

The God haters have failed to bring down Trump. He has survived, yea, even grown more popular; thriving after all their attacks. The economy continues to amaze. Minorities have more jobs than ever. The Left is pulling its hair out as it tries to find a way to defeat our President. So, they went to the dark regions of hell to find out how to do it: shame the Christians.

Take Chuck Todd, host of Meet the Press for an example. He portrays Trump supporters as people who have been trained from childhood to believe in what he calls ‘fairy tales’—people ‘who want to be lied to’—and he read this from a letter to the editor, “show me a person who believes in Noah’s Ark and I will show you a Trump voter.”

And because Jesus clearly mentioned Noah and the ark in Matthew 24, this is an attack on our Lord.  This is a direct shot at Christians. He is calling Bible believers buffoons, and by association, he is calling Jesus Christ a buffoon.

Now I get to the darker side of all this: Christian leaders who are telling lies about you. Remember FBI Agent Peter Strzok who said, “Just went to a Southern Virginia Wal-Mart. I could SMELL the Trump support.”

Well, Mark Galli Editor of Christianity Today  magazine just gave us his version of that: “I know hardly anyone, let alone any evangelical Christian who voted for Trump. I describe evangelicals like me as ‘elite’ evangelicals … and this class of evangelicals has discovered that we have family members so different they seem like aliens in our midst. These other evangelicals often haven’t finished college, and if they have jobs (and apparently a lot of them don’t), they are blue-collar jobs or entry-level work. They don’t write books or give speeches; they don’t attend conferences of evangelicals for social justice or evangelicals for immigration reform. They are deeply suspicious of mainstream media. A lot of them voted for Donald Trump.”

What you have here is so smug, and misguided that I can’t find a place to begin responding to it. Mark Galli is, by his own words, an elitist. He is better than you—you sad, redneck, illiterate Christian Trump supporter. He is smarter, he finished college and he has a job. You on the other hand are entry level, remedial and, God forbid, suspicious of the mainstream media.

Worst of all, you don’t attend SJW conferences on immigration. Conferences that we now know were funded in part by George Soros—who doesn’t care about immigrants as much as he cares about dividing the church and creating a one-world government.

Mark Galli is telling lies about you. He doesn’t understand that the evil one has riled him up and given him a wispy need for recognition from the intellectual community. For ten years I have watched a number of smart Christians seduced in Berkeley by the need to water down their faith in order to be accepted among the “intelligentsia.”

Remember when Peter played the hypocrite and ate with Gentiles until the Jewish believers from Jerusalem arrived? Then he withdrew from the Gentile believers. Paul rebuked Peter publically, and wrote about it in the book of Galatians chapter 2! It’s the same thing. Guys like Mark Galli seem to need the approval of the media. Small wonder he appeared on CNN right after this.

Lest you think it is wrong to name names, take a look at the long list of heretics mentioned by name in the New Testament. From Paul calling out Alexander and Hymenaeus, to John naming Diotrophes. It is biblical to warn the sheep about wolves.

Mark Galli’s now infamous editorial where he called for Trump to be removed from office is his second lie. There is no evidence that Trump committed any impeachable offense. Nancy Pelosi found nothing. That’s why she hasn’t gone forward with the process and presented the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate, holding up the trial she knows is going nowhere.

Mark Galli took their false accusation, and stated it as fact.

But he is not the only Christian Leader lying about you. Beth Moore tweeted Galli saying “My hat’s off to you, @markgalli. Respect.” She is commending someone for making a false accusation. She also lies by signaling that no true Christian man can support Trump.

Her biggest lie is that she said the evangelical movement died in 2016.

It is also possible to lie by omission. Neither of these leaders ever criticized Obama or the Christians who violated their conscience by voting for Obama.

So let’s talk about Christian Trump supporters.

1.Many of them are positive thinkers and entrepreneurs. President Trump has a winners approach to life, and his followers resonate with that. These are the church members most likely to give big to a vision or help pay off the building.  They are not the critics and legalistic people that hinder you, pastor.

2.Most Christian Trump supporters are patriotic. They love America.  They believe that we live in the greatest country on earth.  They are angry that our laws and our Constitution are being disregarded by secular progressives. They are angry with professional athletes who disgrace our flag and national anthem.  They stand with cops, the military, and first responders.

3. The majority of Christian Trump supporters are all about common sense. They believe:

  • Our trade deals with other nations made no sense.

  • Political correctness is a silly idea that has morphed into a tedious tyranny.

  • It makes no sense to judge Trump’s past bankruptcies while ignoring the insane legacy of socialism.

  • It makes no sense to leave our borders unsecured and allow an influx of criminals who have committed millions of crimes and have killed our children.

  • It makes no sense to vote for a party that would oppress the church with regulations that force Christians, Churches, and Christian employers out of business.

  • It is a national disgrace that public schools in America are forcing children to participate in demonic practices such as Buddhist meditation and sexually perverted role playing.

  • It makes no sense to support the party that would turn Christian witnessing into a hate crime.

  • It makes no more sense to reject Trump for statements he made 11 years ago than holding Paul responsible for putting Christians to death 11 years before his Damascus road conversion.

  • It makes no sense to compare Donald Trump’s tax forms to 33,000 emails that Hillary criminally erased—emails that posed a national security threat.

Shaming Christians who support Trump will be the weapon of choice for 2020. But don’t you dare be ashamed!  These Christian leaders who are lying about you, they are the ones who bear the real shame.

Still can’t support Trump?

You’re a Christian who still can’t support Trump? Let me share this fact with you: The people who hate Trump also hate you. They hate your faith. They hate your Bible. They hate your values. They hate Israel. They hate the Constitution and truth be told, they hate America. They hate you even if you don’t support Trump. They will hate you after Trump is gone.

They hated these things all along, only you weren’t supposed to know. You were supposed to be introduced to their radical agenda on the installment plan. But now they are in a frenzy and are throwing their gradual timetable to the wind and rushing everything. They are rushing: drag queens into story hours, gender bending subject matter into grammar schools, radical abortion policies, gun control and censorship. So, what’s their hurry? They are in a rage—such a rage, that they will openly refuse to stand up for the National Anthem and even chant their hatred against the highest office in the land at baseball games.

Two things happened that blew their cover.  Obama failed and Trump succeeded. None of that was supposed to happen. This is because the true socialist believes the only reason socialism has always failed is because “real socialism” has never been tried correctly. Every time it fails, they regroup and try again. They refuse to see that Socialism has imploded because it is a terrible system responsible for killing 100 million people in the last 100 years.

When Obama’s socialism failed, they put Hillary forward, hoping she would do the job. Trump was not supposed to win. His victory destroyed their plans. His presidency enraged them so deeply, they flew into a rage and started saying everything out loud that they had tried to keep a secret. They were forced into springing their trap early.

Again, they didn’t just start hating you when Trump won. They have hated you all along. You just weren’t supposed to find out so soon. It wasn’t their first choice to start censoring blogs, books, and speakers, but after Trump blew their cover, he drove them into a frenzy. Now they are out of control, spewing venom like a spitting cobra on drugs. The demented members of the ‘party of death’ are breaking every rule of free speech and tolerance. And they must be stopped.

I am amazed at how many Christians still do not stand with Trump. I hear the strangest excuses every day. I am curious to know how Trump can ‘hurt their feelings,’ while at the same time the hatred for God, tyranny, lies, and outrageous lawlessness of the Left doesn’t seem to bother them.

We must never spiritualize cowardice. We must never be confused about our duty. Our duty is to stop evil. “For this purpose was the Son of God manifest, to destroy the works of the evil one.”  And if there ever was a party of evil, it is the Socialist Party, formerly known as the Democratic Party.  God has placed Donald Trump in the Oval Office to be a wrecking ball, but he is not the one who is trying to wreck the church, Israel, freedom, marriage, or morality.

Believers who tell me they can’t support him whine, complain, and get holier-than-thou but never offer an alternative. Why? Because there is no alternative. When you tell me, “I am not going to vote for the lesser of two evils”, you are deflecting. Your non-vote is helping to assure that evil will prevail.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer said, “Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.” Not to vote for Trump empowers the people who hate you and your children. If they ever succeed in all their plans to change our precious land of the free into a socialist state, it is game-over for the last truly free country on earth. Stand up for liberty, pray for those in Washington, and vote for those who love America. We as believers can and must turn this nation back to God!

Christian Leaders are saying lies about you

Robb Ryerse is a pastor at Vintage Fellowship in Fayetteville, AR and the political director of Vote Common Good just said this: “Trump is an anathema to everything I was taught to love about Jesus, everything I was taught about how to live out my faith. His disdain for decency, disrespect toward basic tenets of right and wrong and complete disregard for the most vulnerable among us could not be more fundamentally un-Christian. To vote for him because he sees the political expediency of supporting restrictions on abortion is a Faustian deal with the devil.”

You and I as believers in Christ are in a war against evil. The one thing you want to do is to defeat evil.  And evil is about to take a nasty turn—a turn you need to beware of. The hate is going to turn away from Trump to you—specifically Christians who support Trump.” Robb Ryerse just said that you are making a deal with Satan by voting for Trump.  According to American Association of Evangelicals, Vote Common Good took money from George Soros.

A video from the American Association of Evangelicals reveals how George Soros, through his many funding ventures, has been busily infiltrating the Christian base in America to divide, and ultimately conquer, the religious minded within the Republican Party.

Truly, with the left, political wars know no bounds. Nothing’s sacred; not when it comes to the leftists’ drive to succeed.

Here’s what AAE put out in a press release: “Democrat ministers Rev. Jim Wallis and allies are now touring many states on ‘Vote Common Good’ buses to … split the evangelical vote before the mid-term elections. The AAE video features the newly released voice recording of [JimWallis of Sojourners as he publicly denied that he was a recipient of Soros funding.”

Now they are at it again with messages like that of Robb Ryerse.

The God haters have failed to bring down Trump. He has survived, yea, even grown more popular; thriving after all their attacks. The economy continues to amaze. Minorities have more jobs than ever. The Left is pulling its hair out as it tries to find a way to defeat our President. So, they went to the dark regions of hell to find out how to do it: shame the Christians and pay Pastors to do their dirty work.

WHY SUPPORTING TRUMP WILL NOT RUIN MY WITNESS

One of the arguments made by the editor of Christianity Today Magazine was that supporting Trump ruined our witness to America. No one yearns to win souls more than I do, therefore, I will tackle this argument, beginning with a story that seems to be analogous.

After the United States Army liberated the German concentration camps, General Eisenhower viewed the incomprehensible horror. His reaction was to make every soldier in the area come and see it for themselves.

When he was asked why he had subjected these men to such savagery and why he forced them to view images which they could never wash from their minds, he said this, “We are told that the American soldier does not know what he was fighting for. Now, at least he will know what he is fighting against.”

Millions of Christians look at Trump and see a man who is not perfect. He is not their model of a true believer. They reject him because they know what they are striving for: gentleness, civility and increased church attendance. What they do not know is what they are fighting against.

I know this, because whenever they attack Trump they offer no alternative for the office of President. They can’t tell you who else they would rather vote for. Or they assume it doesn’t matter if Democrats win. They only know they are offended by Trump’s behavior. But how does his behavior appear when compared to the horror of what the Left will do to this nation?

No doubt American soldiers had heard of the atrocities committed by Hitler and the Nazis, but they had not witnessed it first-hand. That is, not until they saw with their own eyes the ovens, the mountains of bones, and hundreds of rotting corpses.

Likewise, it is one thing to see leftists selling candles that say “Abortions are magical” and quite another to witness a baby being dismembered in an abortion clinic.  Or to see a baby survive an abortion and then overhear an impossibly inhuman conversation, such as, “We’ll keep it comfortable until the doctor and the mother can decide what to do next.”  How worried are you now, about how ‘rude’ Trump appears?

Does it ruin my altar calls in the tent when I support President Trump? Please, don’t reveal your ignorance if you don’t realize what an inner city is actually like. It is a cruel, disgraceful, soul-crushing place. And it’s the total property and legacy of the Left. They have crushed all decency in every city they control.  Hopes and dreams die daily on an unprecedented scale.

California’s inner cities scream of injustice and abhorrent abuse. Not only is the machinery of government not stopping homelessness—they are actually causing it!

When I stand in the tent and proclaim the miracle of new life in Jesus, I declare the hope, the power, and the love that awaits them. I challenge them to break free. Of course, they need to be freed from sin. They need to be freed from addictions. But they also must be set free from something else.

It’s a funny thing that no one in the church attacked me when I preached against heroin. No one criticized my messages against violent gangs. But when, by the Holy Spirit, I identified a drug worse than meth, which is socialism, and a gang worse than MS-13, the baby slaughtering, corrupt, Left, suddenly I was surrounded by timid souls who tried to hide behind empty platitudes.

Will supporting Trump ruin my witness? Not for the masses who crowd our altars for Jesus. They couldn’t care less about political correctness.

Wake up Christian! Don’t be like those reluctant recruits who served under Patton and hated him because they thought him a crude and nasty leader but they  forgot the monster he was trying to kill. Be honest! Do you not see the blatant abuse of power? Do you not see how power is being centralized under tyrants who hate God, who hate freedom, hate your faith, and want to dominate your children’s future?  Can you not see how vicious they are, how deviant they are and how determined they are to manipulate every aspect of American life?

I never neglect to preach a scripture-laden message to lost souls. They understand what I mean when I tell them to get off drugs. But, I also tell them they need to get out of the mental-slave-plantation of the Left. It’s lukewarm Christians who don’t get it.  Is it because they don’t want to?

You may know what you are fighting for, but I am for Trump because he knows, like I know, what we are all fighting against, and what the stakes are if we lose America.

THE FLAWED LOGIC

Here is how Never-Trump Christians think: Fight Those Who Are Fighting For You and Aid Those Who Are Fighting Against You.

Want to see a blank stare?  Simply ask a Never-Trump Christian, “Who would you rather have as an alternative to President Trump? Give me a name. In the war that is being waged against every one of our freedoms: freedom of speech, freedom of religion and everything we hold dear as a free nation—in the battle to protect the unborn, the family, and morality—who’s your candidate for President? No, I mean one who can actually win.”

Their struggle to come up with an answer begins with a blank stare. Then the wheels in their heads start spinning in vain as they search for the right response.  Finally, in their frustration, you will hear them spout a string of platitudes.  Like: “God’s answer to our mess can’t possibly be Trump, because he is a flawed human being.” And, what? Do you think the God-hating candidates on the left are saints? God has used several flawed leaders to bring about His will: Nebuchadnezzar and Cyrus, for example.

Trump is a bizarre answer to our national calamity—I’ll give you that. But he is the answer. That’s why he turned the economy around. That’s why he has added conservatives to benches all across America: two Supreme Court Justices and 187 judges—and there are 18 more awaiting Senate approval.

Because he is the answer, he removed the gag order on preachers, moved to restore prayer in schools, and became the first President in history to address the March for Life Rally. Would Warren or Sanders do any of those things? If Hillary had won, do you think you would even recognize America right now?

As far back as I can remember, there have been a cluster of Christians who yearned for respectability among the secular academics. Instead of believing God’s word that says “He has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise,” they foolishly seek the approval of those the Bible truly calls fools. And what do they have to show for it?

Something has happened that should horrify you. 3 out 8 venues in England just banned Franklin Graham’s crusades. His crime? A Biblical view of marriage. The magistrates who banned him said: “we can no longer reconcile the balance between freedom of speech and the divisive impact this event is having in our city. We have informed the organisers of the event that the booking will no longer be fulfilled.”

We are praying for this situation. We are imploring everyone involved with these crusades to keep moving forward and not to let up!  We believe God for a miracle.

These three venues have, in essence, said that their values matter more than free speech.

Hear this! These venues did not ban Franklin Graham because of Donald Trump, but because of the Bible. How many of those believers in the U. K. do you think ever thought it would come to this?

Well, it is coming to this, in America, and not just through demon-driven leftists, but through ambivalent believers who refuse to find either the courage or the humility to accept the President God has given us.

President Trump has been raised up to stand as a firewall against the powers of darkness so that the church can rise up and be the church. And, what is at stake, my friends, is the future of America.
