PUSHING BACK THE MADNESS

Jemele Hill, who is being paid millions by ESPN, wrote on July 19th, “If you vote for Donald Trump, you are a racist. You have no wiggle room.” Jemele Hill is free to speak her mind. And I am free to speak my mind. Her remark is racist and she knows it. It confirms what I have said all along about the leaders of Black Lives Matter, Jemele Hill, and Kaepernick. They do not speak for black people or anyone else. They speak for themselves and a cadre of haters who would shake down anyone who is afraid of looking racist.

Her generalization about Trump voters is hatred—racial hatred. But in the small minds of those who make up this movement, it is a racism that is justified. In their minds, if racism is a cancer—then, though they are racist, they consider themselves to be a benign tumor. But like all racists—they are, in reality, malignant.

They actually believe they have a right to racism as a reparation for past injustice. They need to be honest, and just come out and admit, “Hey, we hate you, we want to bring down America, the Constitution, and Donald Trump. Our goal is to seize your property and take away your rights.”

A Black Lives Matter leader was asked about all of the other black lives who have been killed by various causes, such as black on black crime, and not just by the police. His pathetic answer was, “We are focused on police brutality.” So, you see, to BLM, only a very few black lives matter…

And, by the way, here is an interesting point to note: by Jemele’s logic, her own mother is a racist. On March 19, 2017 Jemele tweeted, “yes my mother voted for trump. she’s been voting republican since post bill clinton (sic).” Like all those with Trump Derangement Syndrome, she has abandoned all logic.

But the silence of ESPN is the real heart of the madness. Why are they silent? ESPN is paying Jemele Hill millions of dollars to produce a Colin Kaepernick documentary to air on ESPN. Yet they’ve been silent since she called all Donald Trump voters racist. There’s only one conclusion to draw. ESPN must agree with her.

In my last blog, I told you that America had already been taken over. That the revolution has defeated corporate America, and has forced them to act against their own better judgment. This is why ESPN is willing to blatantly offend all Trump supporters—raw fear.

Leftist bullies have free rein to say and do whatever they want in cities all across America. They are behaving like doped-up teenagers with a stolen credit card. Utter madness has descended on the nation. We must push back against it. But how?

1. Don’t be afraid to be accused of being a racist: This current form of racism draws its life from your fear of being called racist. Jemele and her ilk believe that if they can shame you as a racist for supporting Trump, you will change your vote. They don’t know you very well, do they?

But Mike Lindell, CEO of My Pillow, and Chief Executive Robert Unanue of Goya Foods have shown all of us what we must do. They were threatened with boycotts for supporting Trump, but they have refused to back down. The result was just a momentary backlash that called the haters’ bluff. And the haters lost.

Pushing back when someone lies about you is more than decency. In this toxic moment it is heroism. You are a freedom fighter when you face down a lie and expose it. The biggest thing you’ve got going for you is the simple fact that you are not a racist, and you know it.

The worst thing you can do is sit back and allow millions of Americans to be falsely labelled as racists. It is a clear and immediate threat to freedom. Worst of all, it is coming from racists. We must all speak up!

2. Understand the loneliness of the warrior: The sick fact is that many Christians are terrified of being called racist and are doing everything they can—including abandoning the Bible—in order to appear woke. You must understand that being attacked by an angry foe and by traitors is a classic part of spiritual warfare.

When you take a stand for morality, you become a target. Isaiah 59:15 says, “Thus truth fails, and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey.” You will be a target for true enemies and false Christians.

Paul the Apostle was constantly on the run from God-haters and false brethren. The sooner you understand that it is not new or strange for you to feel you are in a lonely battle, the better you will fight.

This battle we are in is not just anti-American, it is anti-Christian. Those who are AWOL in the church, cling to the falsehood that the virulent assault against Trump is not our fight. How wrong they are! Trump is being used of God as a firewall against impending destruction. Why have protestors broken into churches to attack worshipers? Because they are Marxists. Marxists have always hated the church and worked to destroy her.

In the past, a simple vote was just a vote. But today, it is vastly more. Today, your vote is an attack on evil. It is an evil that your children and grandchildren will have to deal with, if you do not.

Because this false charge of racism is from hell, it must be neutralized by Heaven. The weapons we fight with are not human, but are charged with the very might of God Himself.

Do not be weary in well doing. And remember why you are taking a stand. Nehemiah said it best, “Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses” (Nehemiah 4:14).

P.S. A Special message to all of our friends from Mario Murillo Ministries

Why do we offer you books? It is certainly not to blunt the impact of the message you just read. In fact, these books reinforce the message we are trying to spread. More on that in a moment.  So, why do we offer them to you?
When the pandemic closed our tent crusades, church meetings and rallies, the Holy Spirit commanded Mario to keep our staff on at full salary, and trust Him. He obeyed and God has provided. But another thing the Holy Spirit grants are wise ideas. And we needed one. That is when the War Chest Collection was born.
If you look at the page you will see no advertising. And there never will be. And if you get our newsletter you will see that we have stopped raising money for projects we can’t do right now. But even that was not good enough for us.
In this pandemic we needed something that was truly a win-win situation. We prayed for something that would help the people, and us, that was not a garish fund raiser.
Then, we remembered how John Wesley taught his young preachers to always bring books with them that would help the people. Why not then, at a time when people have time to read, offer them something that will empower them and at the same time keep us strong and ready to go as soon as the door reopens?
We are amazed at the impact of Vessels of Fire and Glory. That book is not just blessing people—it has started a movement! Critical Mass remains required reading in many Christian schools and has never stopped influencing people who pray for revival. Edgewise offers wisdom for living in the last days. Together they provide you with solid, hard-hitting and encouraging truth. Not a bad thing just now.
The War Chest Collection has handed the enemy a double defeat by empowering God’s people and keeping us strong and ready.
Thank you for listening and get your War Chest Collection today. Turn your summer read into equipping, encouragement, and fire! We are all going to come out of this mightier than ever!   -Mario Murillo Ministries

A Lying Spirit

Mr. President stand your ground. Child of God hold on just a little longer. God is about to judge a lying spirit that is blanketing America.

The Left has moved from lies to outright lies. The left has moved from backing down when they are caught lying, to not caring if they are caught.

Mario, why are so many being fooled right now? Why is light called dark and dark light? Why is evil and hate called good while truth and love are called evil? Is it possible for a lying demon to blind the masses? Is there a time when minds can be manipulated en masse? Yes!  The Bible calls it a lying spirit.

In fact, that spirit can come by the direction of God in order to judge people for their wickedness. 2 Thessalonians 2:11 says, “And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

That lying spirit is seen in Acts 8: 9 “But there was a certain man called Simon, who previously practiced sorcery in the city and astonished the people of Samaria, claiming that he was someone great, 10 to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is the great power of God.”

But God stirred me deeply and said that the lying spirit that possesses the left to lie and persecute their enemies—including the president, will be judged.  What will that judgement look like?

God will allow lies to grow to such an extreme that it will soon nauseate Americans. The glorification of perversion, the bullying of children, the parade of insane ideas will fill the vat and sicken America. God will see to this. Not only this, but He will bring high profile liars to an end. He will do this right on time.  Again, child of God hold on! Mr. President stand your ground!

The condition of America at this moment mirrors 1 Kings 22.  Ahab king of Israel wants to talk Jehoshaphat king of Judah into joining him in battle to win back Ramoth Gilead from Syria. Though willing, Jehoshaphat wants to be sure God is in this venture.

Ahab summons 400 prophets. They all say that victory is assured. Jehoshaphat is bothered by the mass agreement and asks if there is one more prophet. Ahab’s response says it all: “There is still one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may inquire of the Lord; but I hate him, because he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil.”-1 Kings 22:8

They send a man to go get Micaiah.  What this messenger says to the prophet is like holding up a mirror up to current America: “Then the messenger who had gone to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, “Now listen, the words of the prophets with one accord encourage the king. Please, let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak encouragement.”-1 Kings 22: 13

Right now there is only one message allowed, only one viewpoint can be spoken. Deviate from that and you will labeled a racist, homophobe and an Islamophobe.  They will make things up to discredit those who oppose.

Now witness the man of God giving the proper response to this indecent request: “And Micaiah said, ‘As the Lord lives, whatever the Lord says to me, that I will speak.’” That must be our conviction right now!

Now we come to one of the greatest moments of courage in history. Micaiah walks into a scene of crushing intimidation.  Two kings wearing royal robes sit on thrones staring down at him. One has murder in his eyes. Around him are 400 false prophets who have all given the exact same “word from the Lord.” A vast crowd overflows the royal hall.  A dead silence falls when Ahab orders the prophet to prophesy.

Think about it. Micaiah tells Ahab he will be killed in the battle for Ramoth Gilead. It goes even deeper. He reveals to Ahab that a lying spirit who has put lies in the mouth of all the prophets. This is the judgement of God—to fool Ahab to go to his death.

This deception is so deep that even telling Ahab about it will not stop him. Micaiah says in verse 23, “Therefore look! The Lord has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these prophets of yours, and the Lord has declared disaster against you.” Ahab is seduced by his audience of prophets.  He goes to war.  A random arrow finds a kink in his armor. He dies right on schedule.

Beloved, don’t think for one moment that this web of lies will decide the nation’s fate. The enemies of God looked invincible in 1 Kings 22. The lies looked unstoppable.  Yet, the mighty God acted.  Believe me the lying spirit on our nation will be judged.

Do you think God isn’t feeling the prayers of millions of His own in America?  Pray and you will get confirmation that what I say is true.  Hold on Mr. President. The polls are lying. The threats are lies. The hand of God is about to destroy the lies!

THE AMERICAN CHURCH STILL THINKS THIS IS A GAME

Soul-sucking disaster upon disaster, and yet America does not pray. But, I get why. The word of God says, “the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God…”1 Corinthians 2: 14.   What I don’t get is how the American church can still think this is a game.

The world is on fire.   Because of man, and nature—Earth is ready to explode.   Meanwhile the church—like a party on the deck of the Titanic—pats herself on the back for her “big events.”

Nothing has stopped—or even slowed down—America’s depravity.   We have spent more money, time, and talent than ever—yet the church never asks, why we keep doing things that don’t work?

When the church

-Feeds a sick nation, a sick gospel, that does not deliver from evil, and worse, makes the already converted weaker, we must think it is a game.

-When the enemy is no longer the works of Satan, but the unsuccessful life—we are playing a game.   We must return to the Bible.  The Bible needs to set fire to our sermons.

Many of my Spirit-filled acquaintances are also playing games.  Facebook is like a Petri dish for Pentecostals.  In one compressed medium, you witness the banal bacteria that excites Charismatics today. Witness the games:

-Titles like Prophet and Apostle are flung around indiscriminately.  Every garish emotional experience is hawked as being from God.  One “prophet” says he went back in time and visited Moses.  Who of us has not scratched our heads at preachers, in ill-fitting jeans, live-streaming from a near-empty church, that they are the vessel of the hour?

– “conferences promise that you will get “a word from God” for a fee… as if the Holy Spirit was On Demand.  Or they offer formulas to “activate” blessings.  This is New Age philosophy.  God is not a force to manipulate—He is an awesome person to be adored and obeyed.  Gift arrive, as the Spirit wills, to hearts broken—emptied of self—for the lost, the poor, and the forsaken.

-Everything seems based on angelic visitations, dreams, visions and trips to heaven.  Most of our time is spent on these “experiences” and not on rock-solid instruction from the Word of God.

I believe in dreams, prophecy, healing, angels and visions.   But if they are from God they will drive us to the front line of the culture and not into emotional safe zones.   “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty to the tearing down of strongholds.” -2 Corinthians 10:4    We are nowhere near strongholds because we think it’s a game.

Beloved, this is not a game.  Christians toying with materialism, celebrity, alcohol, compromise and carnality spell doom for America.   Google, Facebook, Apple, YouTube and the rest of Silicon Valley threaten to pull the plug on churches.  Every day they inch closer to censorship.  Will your zany videos matter if no one can see them?

Our preaching ricochets off a culture careening into indescribable debauchery.  Soon it will illegal to preach the doctrines you are now ignoring.  What a horror!  Pastor you wake up one day with remorse over the truths you ignored—but now they’re banned.

Mario is there any hope?  My hope in God’s fierce love for America.  He will not let this nation go without a fierce fight.  My hope is in some of the last people you’d expect.

My hope is in the discouraged preacher.  Honest-to-God preachers who feel like fools when they see the runaway success of compromise.  Psalm 73:12 says, “Behold, these are the ungodly, who are always at ease; They increase in riches. 13 Surely, I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocence. 14 For all day long I have been plagued, and chastened every morning.”

My hope is in those who chose to fail honestly rather than succeed artificially.

Are you struggling with decreasing numbers and falling finances, even as you present a Christ-centered, Bible based pulpit?   God sees you! Hold on just a little longer.  Fire is coming that will cause a stampede and you won’t know where to put the crowds.

My hope is in the Christian nobodies.  Have you failed?  Did man take away your pulpit?  Get ready…your brokenness is a key to the fire of God in this hour.  A nationwide hunger for reality is about to make shallowness obsolete.

Are you a teacher, business person, police officer or stay at home mom?  Do you burn with a passion for your community?  Get ready for vision and anointing right where you live!

The hour is so dangerous that God must bring down religious empires and promote others to great power and influence.  Satan is also playing games.  I believe that God—through the last people we expect—is about to teach Satan what war really looks like.

When Abraham Lincoln Told America to Pray and Repent

“Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us!  It behooves us then, to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.”

By the President of the United States of America.

A Proclamation.

Whereas, the Senate of the United States, devoutly recognizing the Supreme Authority and just Government of Almighty God, in all the affairs of men and of nations, has, by a resolution, requested the President to designate and set apart a day for National prayer and humiliation.

And whereas it is the duty of nations as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions, in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord.

And, insomuch as we know that, by His divine law, nations like individuals are subjected to punishments and chastisements in this world, may we not justly fear that the awful calamity of civil war, which now desolates the land, may be but a punishment, inflicted upon us, for our presumptuous sins, to the needful end of our national reformation as a whole People? We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven. We have been preserved, these many years, in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth and power, as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us; and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us!

It’s a testament to how far we have fallen.  Lincoln’s letter would be deemed a hate crime today.  His wise plea would be met with rage and howling disdain.  Every talk show host would eviscerate it.  Hollywood would have more anger over this letter than they do over Harvey Weinstein.  Professors would call it a tool for the white man to keep people of color on the plantation.

Psychiatrists, citing the 25th Amendment, would scream for the mentally unfit Lincoln to be removed from office.  He would be accused of being a climate change denier for omitting references to the environment.  He would be slurred as Islamophobic for praying to the Christian God.  In short, this document would be banned today.

Even in the face of unequaled natural disasters, violence, division and danger, the elite of our nation not only refuse to pray, they ridicule those who wish to repent.  This is how far from sanity we have drifted.  May God have mercy on our wicked minds.

-Mario Murillo

It behooves us then, to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.

Now, therefore, in compliance with the request, and fully concurring in the views of the Senate, I do, by this my proclamation, designate and set apart Thursday, the 30th. day of April, 1863, as a day of national humiliation, fasting and prayer. And I do hereby request all the People to abstain, on that day, from their ordinary secular pursuits, and to unite, at their several places of public worship and their respective homes, in keeping the day holy to the Lord, and devoted to the humble discharge of the religious duties proper to that solemn occasion.

All this being done, in sincerity and truth, let us then rest humbly in the hope authorized by the Divine teachings, that the united cry of the Nation will be heard on high, and answered with blessings, no less than the pardon of our national sins, and the restoration of our now divided and suffering Country, to its former happy condition of unity and peace.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the United States to be affixed.

Done at the City of Washington, this thirtieth day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three, and of the Independence of the United States the eighty seventh.

By the President: Abraham Lincoln
William H. Seward, Secretary of State.

Vice President Mike Pence leaves Colts-49ers game after players reportedly kneel

Vice President Mike Pence spoke out on Sunday about why he left a football game between the Indianapolis Colts-San Francisco 49ers game,

Vice President Mike Pence spoke out on Sunday about why he left a football game between the Indianapolis Colts-San Francisco 49ers game.

“I left today’s Colts game because @POTUS and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem,” Pence tweeted.

This was his actual tweet.

Several 49ers players reportedly knelt for the anthem on Sunday in Indianapolis.

Last year, while a quarterback for the 49ers, Kaepernick sat or kneeled during the national anthem at football games, protesting the police treatment of minorities.

According to a report by Jason La Canfora on Sunday, Kaepernick has been living in New York and working out privately in New Jersey with the hope of signing with a team this season.

Kaepernick kneeled during the national anthem last season to bring more attention to the killings of black men by police officers.

The NFL is now the least popular professional sport.

Over just one month of playercoach, and owner protests of the flag and National Anthem, the National Football League has gone from America’s sport to the least liked of top professional and college sports, according to a new poll.

From the end of August to the end of September, the favorable ratings for the NFL have dropped from 57 percent to 44 percent, and it has the highest unfavorable rating – 40 percent – of any big sport, according to the Winston Group survey provided exclusively to Secrets.

Final note: Former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, said today,  he’d stand for the national anthem if he can play in the NFL once more.  In others words, the guy who started the protests will stop, ” if you pay me.”

SINGER KNEELS, WEARS BLACK LIVES MATTER SHIRT WHILE SINGING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM

  • Denasia Lawrence sang the national anthem before NBA game in Miami
  • As she sang she knelt, following lead of NFL player Colin Kaepernick
  • Lawrence sang before the Miami Heat played the Philadelphia 76ers
  • Miami Heat linked arms in a sign of unity before start of the game
  • Kneeling for anthem has become a protest against racial discrimination

A woman performing the national anthem before an NBA preseason game in Miami on Friday night did so while kneeling at midcourt, and opening her jacket to show a shirt with the phrase ‘Black Lives Matter’.

The singer was identified by the Heat as Denasia Lawrence. It was unclear if she remained in the arena after the performance, and messages left for her were not immediately returned.

Heat players and coaches stood side-by-side for the anthem, all with their arms linked as has been their custom during the preseason.

Many had their heads down as Lawrence sang, and the team released a statement saying it had no advance knowledge that she planned to kneel.

We felt as a basketball team that we would do something united, so that was our focus,’ Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said.

‘Throughout all of this, I think the most important thing that has come out is the very poignant, thoughtful dialogue.

‘We’ve had great dialogue within our walls here and hopefully this will lead to action.’

The anthem issue has been a major topic in the sports world in recent months, starting with the decision by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick to not stand for its playing.

Kaepernick cited racial injustice and police brutality among the reasons for his protest, and athletes from many sports — and many levels, from youth all the way to professional — have followed his lead in various ways.

 OUR REACTION:
Darrell Bernard Harrison isn’t a famous writer. He doesn’t go on television to create juicy viral soundbites while arguing with Marc Lamont Hill about racism. Darrell is a black man who loves God and loves his community.  I am posting his comments because it nails it

I read an article a moment ago about a black female who took to one knee while performing the national anthem last night during an NBA game. So, in the spirit of fairness and balance, I thought I’d post a list of issues about which black people will never take a knee:

– the legal murder of more than 17 million unborn black babies since Roe v. Wade in 1973
– the refusal of the federal government to allow parental choice in determining at what school their children should be educated
– the 73 percent rate at which black children are reared in single-parent homes
– the 72 percent out-of-wedlock birth rate of black children
– an increasingly burdensome tax code that forces black parents to work longer hours resulting in less time spent with their children
– a punitive healthcare law that is forcing many black households into bankruptcy because the premiums and penalties are unaffordable
– a double-digit black unemployment rate which is influenced by a liberal immigration policy that encourages and accommodates violating the law under the guise of “fulfilling a dream”
– an increasingly high rate of HIV- infected black men and women in black urban and suburban neighborhoods
– the decades-long impact of liberal policies that have only served to exacerbate poverty and government dependency in urban communities, despite the fact that 95 percent of black voters support the political party that endorses those policies
– the rate at which black people commit violent crimes against other black people

Not trying to start an argument. I’m just sick of the hypocrisy.

John Voight’s plea to save America

Hollywood conservative and staunch Donald Trump supporter Jon Voight released a video “Plea to Save America” on Thursday, urging Americans to vote for the Republican candidate in next month’s election, which the actor called the “most important in American history.”
The actor, who recently sparred with Democratic contributor and Hillary Clinton supporter Robert De Niro over the latter’s disdain for Trump, appealed to Americans to vote for the only candidate who can “save our America.”

The full transcript of Voight’s remarks are below:

My dear fellow Americans.

We are all feeling tremendous anxiety with only a few weeks left to the election. This will be the most important election in American history.

We were once a country of freedom, and now we’re becoming a country of tyranny.

We are witness to our own people burning down and looting our cities. Ferguson, Missouri, Milwaukee, Orlando, Florida, Baltimore. We are all witness to our own people killing our policemen. Islamic terrorists have killed thousands of people all over our country, and Hillary and Obama want to be politically correct and pretend all the killings are not happening.

How many Americans are aware of George Soros? An evil man, who turned hundreds of Jewish people over the Nazis to be exterminated during World War II. He was interviewed on 60 Minutes, and was asked does he feel guilty for what he has done. And arrogantly, he said ‘Absolutely not. If I didn’t do it, someone else would have.’

Soros is a billionaire, who made most of his money manipulating currencies and almost bankrupting many countries. He supports hate groups, who are responsible for taking down our cities. And he is a close friend of Hillary Clinton, and a major supporter of her campaign.

Robert De Niro is a millionaire, as are so many of our Hollywood stars who are voting for Hillary, and who have absolutely no tolerance for anyone with a different opinion, forgetting that that is what our country is founded on: freedom of choice. But they will not be affected by Hillary’s open borders. Only our poor and middle class will suffer.

Thousands of refugees will flood our nation, and no one will know the good guys from the bad guys. It will kill our economy, which is at an all-time low now under the years of Obama’s presidency. And Hillary boasts of how proud she will be to continue Obama’s legacy.

No one can afford health insurance now. Prices for healthcare have gone through the roof thanks to Obamacare. Our once reasonable healthcare is gone.

With Hillary as President, we will lose our Second Amendment right to bear arms. Freedom of religion will be attacked, and Hillary will try to stop all conservative voices on TV and radio. Our highest court will become Socialist, and she will restrict what America was founded on, our freedom to become a small business owner and pursue our own personal dreams.

She has blood on her hands from the Benghazi terrorist raid. Four of our American patriots died, and when the parents stood over their loved ones’ coffins, she lied to them about the cause of their sons’ deaths.

The pendulum of freedom is not balanced. Hillary and her followers are on a crude campaign to stop and degrade all of Trump’s followers. Her words were echoed loud and clear for all Americans to hear. Hillary said Trump’s followers are a basket of deplorables. They are un-redeemable.

May God protect the real truth, and may Donald Trump win this presidency. He will save our America, and he will certainly make it great again.

NFL Ratings Continue to Plunge in Third Week of National Anthem Protests

By WARNER TODD HUSTON

For the third consecutive week, ratings for the National Football League (NFL) have plummeted, as players continue anti-American protests during the playing of the national anthem. This week’s drop-off also coincided with the Monday broadcast of the first presidential debate between Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton.

Ratings for Sunday Night Football featuring the Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys scored a 12.9 Nielsen rating, down from the game’s 13.7 rating last week. Week two, in turn, was down from week one’s 13.9 rating, according to Sports Business Daily. Ratings also dropped more than they did during week three a year ago for the slate of midday regional games, falling by 18 percent.

NFL viewership continues its rocky start to ’16; “MNF” hit hard by the presidential debate.

Monday Night Football performed even worse. Monday’s game between the Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints received a low 5.7 rating, a 38 percent plunge from week three of last year.

Notably, the game was competing against the first presidential debate between Trump and Clinton, an event that earned the biggest debate audience in U.S. political history.According to CNN Money, the September 26 debate brought in more than 80 million viewers.

But the NFL has also been suffering under the anti-American protests during the playing of the national anthem, which San Francisco 49ers second string quarterback Colin Kaepernick started three weeks ago.

Since Kaepernick decided to sit out the anthem instead of standing at attention as everyone else was doing, a host of other players across the NFL have joined him in his attack on the United States.

Some have decided to emulate Kaepernick’s action of staying seated during the anthem. Others took up his secondary protest of kneeling in the field during the song. Still others have taken to raising the militant black power fist in the air during the anthem.

Not content with his on-field protests, Kaepernick has continued his anti-American rants off the field. Recently, as a rejoinder to GOP nominee Donald Trump, he said the United States was never great.

“He always says, ‘Make America great again,’” Kaepernick said of Trump. “Well, America has never been great for people of color and that’s something that needs to be addressed. Let’s make America great for the first time.”

Since his first attempt to criticize the country, Kaepernick’s anti-American protest has spread to other sports, including high school and college athletics.

WHY THE WOUND OF 911 NEVER HEALS

WHY THE WOUND OF 911 NEVER HEALS

By Mario Murillo

Why is my pain perpetual and my wound incurable, Which refuses to be healed? -Jeremiah 15:18

America has healed from the Civil War and two world wars…why can’t we heal from 911?

September 11, 2001, 8:46 am – Mohammed Atta and the other hijackers aboard American Airlines Flight 11 crash the plane into floors 93-99 of the North Tower of the World Trade Center, killing everyone on board and hundreds inside the building.

9:03 am – Hijackers crash United Airlines Flight 175 into floors 75-85 of the WTC’s South Tower, killing everyone on board and hundreds inside the building.

Twin Towering infernos incinerate 3,000 innocent people.   The flames flash light into the abyss revealing the blackest evil of our time—Islamic Terrorism.

The next 60 minutes are living hell.   That hour brings several firsts: The first time the whole nation felt terror—the first time that the Stock Market was closed for 4 days—the first time since the Second World War tanks and personnel patrol American streets—the first time we saw $30 billion dollars’ damage in one hour and an eventual financial loss we could not calculate—for the first time in recent history, America was not invincible.

Not since Pearl Harbor has any event had this much impact on every aspect of our way of life.

Today is 15 years later.  The wound has not healed.  Our pain continues.  Jeremiah asked, “Why is my pain perpetual and my wound incurable, Which refuses to be healed? -Jeremiah 15:18

Why have we not healed?  The disaster of 911 should have driven us to God.  Instead, we ran from Him.  We banned the prayer we so desperately needed.  We censored the only message that could save us.  Instead of staying alert for the war on our freedoms we delved further into drugs.  Losing our morals made us miserable—so what did we do?  We abandoned the few morals we had left.

Our leaders caved into a self-loathing.  We contracted syndromes!   We got battered wife’s syndrome: blaming America for the terror and trying to see all of the good we can in Islam.

We contracted Stockholm Syndrome: sympathizing with all of the people who would do us harm.  We opened our borders and welcomed rapists and killers as if we had some great evil to atone for.

College students—who should rise up to the hard work of facing the future—instead give into their self-pity and even turn it into a noble crusade…going forth to prove they could be offended by anything and afraid of everything.

Villains are now victims and victims are now villains.  The only thing as ugly as 911 is our ugly, ongoing reaction to 911.

The whole world knows we are slouching toward Gomorrah.  North Korea knows it and flaunts its nuclear crimes.  Russia knows it and intimidates our pilots.  Iran knows it—demanding and receiving billions in ransoms from our president—then laughing in our face.  China knows it and openly displays contempt whenever possible.

Yes, it is the 15th anniversary of the one day that should galvanize our resolve to once again be the home of the brave.  We should weep over our loss of loved ones and especially the loss of God’s blessing.  We should be repenting and returning to the roots of our greatness.

What will we see today?  We will likely see overpaid, overrated, coddled NFL players show total disdain to our anthem, our flag and this sacred day.  In a way that is perfectly fitting for a nation that is comatose and utterly unaware that they are only setting themselves up for the next unspeakable horror.  May God have mercy on us!

Is our doom sealed?  Not yet, but we must be overtaken with urgency.  Our time is almost up.  It rests with the people of God to seize this moment.  Just as Abraham pleaded with God over Sodom.   He found that Jehovah would spare the city for just 12 righteous men.  So will our Lord spare America with the fervent repentance of a few…if His people wake up.

Let us wake up to our duty even if others will not.  Only don’t offend truth by saying we are entitled to be spared.  On the other hand let us be like the Prophet Joel who faced certain doom with a hope of mercy.   On this day of all days, cry aloud and spare not…forgiveness is still within our grasp.

“Now, therefore,” says the Lord,
“Turn to Me with all your heart,
With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.”
So rend your heart, and not your garments;
Return to the Lord your God,
For He is gracious and merciful,
Slow to anger, and of great kindness;
And He relents from doing harm.
Who knows if He will turn and relent,
And leave a blessing behind Him— Joel 2:12-14

Will Seahawks and Dolphins disrespect National anthem and American flag on 911?

Will Seahawks and Dolphins disrespect National anthem and American flag on 911?

By Mario Murillo

SEATTLE — The Dolphins season opener will be full of drama before it even kicks off. The team held a players-only meeting Friday in which Arian Foster addressed a potential demonstration during the national anthem, and the Seahawks have already said they are planning something.

Protests began with San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick sitting on the bench during the anthem before a preseason game as his way of objecting to the oppression of black people and controversial handling of police violence. Kaepernick and teammate Eric Reid knelt for the anthem last week, and Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall did the same in the league’s kickoff Thursday.

Now these two teams are involved, which becomes additionally provocative given that they will play on 9/11. Seattle players publicly discussed a team-wide stance, though they declined to specify what it will be, and the Dolphins planned to figure out their position by Saturday night.

Foster held the team after practice at the University of Washington to stress the importance of the Dolphins being unified in whatever they choose to do.

“There’s a lot going on right now in the NFL and everybody has their different feelings and opinions, or different stands,” safety Reshad Jones said. “That’s basically what he told us: Make sure we’re together, and we’re here to win a football game.”

Jones and right guard Jermon Bushrod said the Dolphins are not aware of what the Seahawks will do and the teams are not working in conjunction with each other. “We’ll do our own deal,” Bushrod added. That may be the only certainty heading into Sunday.

Sunday marks 15 years since the 9/11 attacks, and the NFL has always honored that anniversary. Seattle wide receiver Doug Baldwin said his team would demonstrate regardless of the date, but thinks it will add even more substance to their actions.

“Even if it wasn’t September 11th, the point of the protest is to get people to think,”he told reporters. “It’s very ironic to me that 15 years ago, on September 11th, was one of the most devastating times in U.S. history, and after that day we were probably the most unified that we’ve ever been.

“And today you struggle to see the unity. It’s very ironic to me that this date is coming up. It’s going to be a very special day, a very significant day, but at the same time I’m looking forward to the many changes and differences that we can make in this country.”

Several Dolphins — notably FosterNdamukong Suh and Ryan Tannehill — said something along those lines and supported Kaepernick’s freedom to protest when asked about it recently.

“You’ve gotta respect the man’s opinion, as well as his actions,” Suh said two weeks ago. “I definitely understand where he’s coming from in choosing to do what he did.

“I think it’s an individual choice. At the same time, I think it’s a duty of ours as leaders, especially with young kids, to make a good, proper announcement if we feel the need to, and I think that’s what he’s doing. I support him in that.”

It’s a weighty issue for first-time head coach Adam Gase, who has consistently supported the players’ right to express themselves as they see fit and reiterated that he wouldn’t deter them. His comments run parallel to the NFL’s policy that players “are encouraged but not required” to stand for the anthem.

Gase and his staff gave the players space for their discussion Friday, and he probably won’t know what his team intends to do until they take the field.

“I just know everybody has the right to their opinion, and I know we’re here to beat Seattle,” he said. “It’s one of those things where everybody has a right to their opinion.”

Fans threaten boycott after Dolphins discuss anthem protest

A possible protest by the Dolphins and Seahawks during the national anthem at Sunday’s season opener has angered some fans, who lashed out in comments posted on The Post’s initial news report on Friday’s team meeting.

“My family and friends won’t be going to games this year, and some won’t buy products advertised during games,” one commenter posted. Another threatened a similar boycott: “I’m protesting the disrespect for our country and boycotting the NFL until they make everyone stand. I’ll watch college football and baseball and hockey, period.”

Others took offense to the potential protest occuring on 9/11. “Protest the anthem especially on 9/11 and the Dolphins are dead to me,” one reader wrote. Another posted: “Truly disgusting what they are doing. … I’m sure our soldiers abroad will be horrified and disgusted at their unpatriotic behavior.”

Even longtime fans were offended: “If the Dolphins decide not to stand for the national anthem on 9/11 I will never attend another game in my life. And I’ve run bus trips for for 29 years.”

Protests began when San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick sat on the bench during the anthem before a preseason game in a protest against oppression of black people and controversial handling of police violence. It became a mini movement when Kaepernick and teammate Eric Reid knelt for the anthem last week, then Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall did the same in the league’s kickoff Thursday.

The Dolphins and the NFL did not immediately return a message seeking comment.

My view is that no matter how you spin it, the overwhelming majority of Americans will consider these acts of blatant disrespect done out of arrogance and hate.   Moreover, to do it on 911 will make it look especially provocative and cruel.  In their little world, some of these players believe they will deemed heroes.  The shock will be the national national backlash and a colossal heap of shame.   Many will call them overpaid—and in some cases, highly overrated—athletes with an outsized microphone, who want to throw a bone to the oppressed from their mansions and limos.  They will be known as a new specie of classless, spoiled brat, low information posers.

IN A RELATED STORY:

Colin Kaepernick’s gesture to kneel for the national anthem was repeated by high school players in a number of places before games Friday night.

Kaepernick retweeted a number of posts on Twitter with photos or news stories.

Here is a sampling:

  • At Lincoln Southeast in Nebraska, two players — one white, one African-American took a knee as a silent protest. (see the video above).
  • At Waggener High in Louisville, a player took a knee as his teammates stood alongside him. A number of players had taken a knee as the team line up but eventually rose as the music starting playing. Coach Jordan Johnson said the team will take steps before next week’s game to “to ensure our young men can make a stand for social injustice, while at the same time not showing, what is perceived as, disrespect.” (Click here for more of Waggener’s response.)
  • Many players at Maury High in Norfolk, Va., took a knee behind the end zone when the anthem was played. Others stood at attention as did the coaches. “Our school system has said, we’re of the belief, we let our guys do what they believe in,”Coach Chris Fraser told the Virginian Pilot. “And so we didn’t make an issue of it, and if they believe in a cause, that’s fine. I stand behind what they believe in, but I’m going to do what I believe in.”
  • At Auburn High in Rockford, Ill., a number of players took a knee during the anthem while their teammates stood with their hands over their hearts.
  • Players at Watkins Hills High in Montgomery, Md., also took a knee during the anthem, according to a photo provided to USA TODAY High School Sports.
