I NEVER SAID THAT

The therapist walked to the blackboard and drew a horizontal straight line.  He asked the patient “what does that make you think of?”  “Sex,” he replied.  Then the therapist drew a vertical straight line and asked again, “what does this make you think of?” Again, the patient answers, “sex.”  Finally, the therapist draws a circle and asks, “okay what about now?”  Once again, the answer was sex.

“I don’t need to go any further” said the therapist, “you’re obsessed with sex.”  Incensed, the patient replies, “Me?”  “You’re the one drawing all the dirty pictures!”

It was interesting how many thought I was drawing dirty pictures—claiming I said any Christian who disagrees with Trump hates him.  I never said that.

It was equally remarkable to see how angry they got—how they took it so personally.

Some of the comments were hilarious.  “I am a believer, I don’t hate him. Even though he is a pathological liar, and a wolf.”  Other Christians cited the audio of Trump from 12 years ago as proof that he is evil.  Not even considering he might have changed.  Again, they add the disclaimer, “but I don’t hate him.”

But my favorite criticisms came from those who said:

-This is why young people won’t listen to us.

-The article is divisive to the Body of Christ.

-Stay out of politics.  No politician or party can be used of God.

Thank God they’re wrong about young people.  I hold nothing back and it just makes more of them show up.  I give them direct appeals and they come to Jesus.  It’s a canard to say youth don’t want to hear this.

What is divisive to one looks like God separating the sheep and the goats to another.  A core of believers is rising that is finished with the lukewarm church.  Lukewarm-ness is a good thing to be divided from.

If you think God can’t work through a political leader think again.  If you think politics has no place in spiritual warfare think again.  When the hard left took possession of the Democratic Party, the first thing they did was throw the church out.

Who changed traditional marriage?  Who champions—not only abortion—late-term abortion?  Who puts Christian bakers out of business?  Who is ignores MS-13 because they are immigrants?  Who espouses bans on prayer, conservative speakers on campus, confiscation of guns, makes “F—Trump! a mantra” a statement, one Democratic columnist said, “was worthy of the Pulitzer Prize.”

We have never faced such a hate-filled mob of media elites, Hollywood hypocrites, and God-hating extremists—hell-bent on crushing the Gospel of Jesus Christ in America.

Stop living in the past.  The day of civil discourse from the left is long gone.  Journalism is dead.

I know saying this will make heads explode: but in all this madness of globalism, and George Soros-funded tyranny, Trump is a momentary reprieve from God—an imperfect vessel notwithstanding.  He is a stop-gap buying time for the church to act.  And it’s disastrous for the church to ignore it.  If nothing else, he defeated Hillary Clinton.

Never mind the dinky stuff.  Look at the policies and the laws he is undoing and the ones he prevents—laws and policies that would muzzle the church and will build a godless nation for your children and grandchildren.  Trump is a firewall.

When you say that God can’t use politicians you are saying only the devil can.

God’s catalysts can come in strange packages…ranging from the bizarre, to the coarse.  Samson, Saul of Tarsus, and even General Patton come to mind.  Often, they offended sensibilities, barged in where others feared to go.

The devil has the American church groggy on the goodness of God without the needed balance of the holiness of God—holiness that leads to authority—authority to rise and tear down cultural strongholds of Satan through moral awakening.

Trumps is buying us time.  Seizing the time?  Well, that’s our job.

THE WAR ON REPENTANCE

Destroying America is one of Satan’s highest priorities.  The thought of a post-American world makes him giddy with delight. He can’t plunge the earth into utter darkness while the United States is a world power.  That’s why he’s labored so tediously, and forcefully to bring down our nation.

His great obstacle is the praying church.  They stop him dead in his tracks.

His only hope is to fool the the church into defeating itself.  Satan has studied the Bible and the church for millennia.  He knows our Achilles heel.  He finally found the right tactic: bury the doctrine of repentance.  He used cheap grace to do it.

The following are two quotes on cheap grace.  One is from Joseph Prince and the other is from Detrick Bonhoeffer. They are direct quotes.  They reveal a startling contrast.

Joseph Prince said, “His grace is cheapened when you think that He has only forgiven you of your sins up to the time you got saved, and after that point, you have to depend on your confession of sins to be forgiven. God’s forgiveness is not given in installments.”

Dietrich Bonhoeffer said, “cheap grace is the grace we bestow on ourselves. Cheap grace is the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance, baptism without church discipline, Communion without confession…Cheap grace is grace without discipleship, grace without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ, living and incarnate.”

The first is saying we cheapen grace by repenting.   The second is saying we cheapen grace by not repenting.

Which one do you believe?  I believe Bonhoeffer who—by the Grace of God—faced down Hitler.  Actually, there’s no choice…Jesus not only taught us to repent, He taught us to do it daily.

In Luke 11, Jesus said, “when you pray.”  How often are we supposed to pray?  Everyday.   What is in that prayer? : “forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.” That is repentance.

The war on repentance—and the cheap grace that started the war—is vividly portrayed in 1 Corinthians 5.  A sin in the church was so outrageous, even the pagans had never heard of it:  A man had taken his mother as his wife.

Even though it brought shame on the church, the leaders did not want to correct this man.  They declared war on repentance.

Was it because he was a popular personality?

Matthew Henry said, “He might be a man of great eloquence, of deep science, and for this reason very greatly esteemed, and followed, and cried up, by many among them. They were proud that they had such a leader. Instead of mourning for his fall, and their own reproach upon his account, and renouncing him and removing him from the society, they continued to applaud him and pride themselves in him.”

Do you really think the American Church is any less guilty of covering sin in order to protect a celebrity?  Who among us has not heard of rampant immorality?  Who among us has not seen popular leaders caught in gross sin, given a slap in the wrist and quickly returned to their pulpit?   The justification is a mantra that has become so tiresome: “grace covers all of this, I don’t need to repent.”

There are many godly men and women in ministry in America.  But there is also a club of leaders who cover for one another’s sins.  They trade pulpits, they live in regal splendor, and they protect their people from the rightful demands of God.

Paul was horrified by the wicked behavior of the leaders in Corinth.  It had trashed their reputation in the city.  Paul was so grieved that he ordered them to turn the man over to Satan for the destruction of his flesh so that his soul might be saved.

Where are the men and women of God today who are horrified by unfettered carnality?   Where is the pastor who is responsible for the young man who currently preaches using liberal portions of obscene language boasting of his deliverance from “Evangelical Christianity?”

Paul brought such swift and supernatural correction that it produced godly sorrow.  And you know what… he was glad, for their sorrow produced life.  In 2 Corinthians 7:9 he said, “Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance.”  How can anyone read that and say  we never need to repent?

Their war on repentance is more evil and dangerous than you know. They have disarmed a truth that is central to saving our nation.  They have done it to control people and hold on to power that all rightfully belongs to Jesus.   It is so dangerous that God’s hand must expose this falsehood.  He must bring down strongholds of counterfeit Christianity, and restore biblical authority.

But something good will come of it.  Look for nobodies to step up in awesome power like Paul.  They will rebuke this insane foolishness and release the soldiers of Christ to true authority and levels of power we have not seen.

Small churches will be chosen to turn the tide.  Vessels too humble to image promotion will indeed be promoted.

Nevertheless, God has stopped winking at the war on repentance.  He will punish those who kept the church from “turning from their wicked ways.”  The sword is even laid at the root.  God will not let America die at the hands of those who are fighting to keep us from repentance.

DEVIL, YOU DID YOUR WORST, NOW WE WILL DO OUR BEST

Stayed tuned!  A truth is about to revolutionize you.  This blog is no light thing.  It does not bear a hollow threat.  It is not fluff, fanfare, or hype.  It is—for the devil—the things that nightmares are made of. Read on.

Now I can tell you, for the first time, how bad the attack was. It was more vicious, cruel, and strategic than any previous attack. It was designed to wipe out our outreach and break my spirit.  Psalm 69: 1-3 was my prayer:

“Save me, O God! For the waters have come up to my neck. 2 I sink in deep mire, Where there is no standing; I have come into deep waters, Where the floods overflow me. 3 I am weary with my crying; My throat is dry; My eyes fail while I wait for my God.”

Matthew Henry commented on these verses: “David complains of the deep impressions that his troubles made upon his spirit.  The waters of affliction, those bitter waters, have come unto my soul, not only threaten my life, but disquiet my mind; they fill my head with perplexing cares and my heart with oppressive grief, so that I cannot enjoy God and myself as I used to do.

The considerations that used to support and encourage him now failed him, or were out of the way, and he was ready to give himself up for gone. He sought for something to comfort himself with, but found himself in deep waters that overflowed him, overwhelmed him; he was like a sinking drowning man, in such confusion and consternation.”  That was me.

At one point, the pain threw me to the floor.  I saw a sorrow in my wife’s eye I never want to see again.  I knew then, I could not tell her what was really happening inside me.

I would never walk again, let alone preach.  The ministry is finished.  I am used to his lies.  This time it felt different.  It felt like he was stabbing me my spine and hip with a knife—while he lied.

Then my miracle came.  It may not sound like much to you but the pain subsided 80% and I could walk.  The devastation to my nervous system was so great, that to this day, I can only walk for about 3 minutes before I must lie down again.  Believe me, compared to before, that is a miracle.

I know I will be totally restored soon.  No one will ever convince me my recovery isn’t supernatural.  The truth is, God has seized this recovery time to transform me. The lessons learned in the Valley of the Shadow of death will fill a lifetime.

I learned never to accuse God.  I learned what people suffer at the hands of some doctors.  I learned to pray for others while I suffered most.  I learned to let God’s Word be more real than any feeling or circumstance.

The despair of ever preaching again has turned to an unquenchable fire to preach.  The idea that I would never walk has become a passion to add cities for our tent crusades.  If there is a Biblical beast mode…I have found it.

Here is the most important lesson I learned:  You must make the devil pay for attacking you.  That is the only language he understands—divine retribution.  Satan must be convinced there is a consequence to attacking you.

The sister lesson is this: Something you were about to do triggered the enemy.  It must be important.  It must be a threat.  Therefore you must determine to do that thing.

Winston Churchill had a standing order: Anytime Hitler bombed London, the Royal Air force was to take off and bomb Germany.  Hitler would bomb civilians.  Churchill targeted military installations.

Churchill also had a lethal command of language. He used it to taunt Hitler.  Hitler’s yawning inferiority complex made him read anything Churchill sent him.  Adolf opened one message that read, “You have done your worst, now we will do our best.”

Historians wonder why Hitler—with victory over Britain all but guaranteed—turned his armies toward Russia.  I know why.  He realized Churchill would never give up.  The devil must know that about you.

We are going to Las Vegas to win the lost and heal the sick on a larger scale than we have ever known.  We are going where gangs operate.  We are going where addicts languish.  We are going where the homeless sit in despair.

We are coming fully charged with the power of God.  We have boots on the ground!  Soldiers are coming to our side.  This Living Proof Tent Crusade will feature the widest range of ministries to touch human need we have ever seen.

We will open the flood gates of heaven in the abyss of human suffering in this city.  Never—and I mean never—has the fire for winning souls burned so hot within me.  Devil, you did your worst, now…in Las Vegas, we will do our best.
