WHAT I AM GOING TO DO NOW

No one who knows me well, has asked that question. They know better than that. They know what I am going to do. I’ve even had friends call from great distances and say, “I know what you’re going to do!” More on that in a moment. I want to get to something else.

What happened in Chico was Satan. Paul wrote, “Therefore we wanted to come to you—even I, Paul, time and again—but Satan hindered us.” (1 Thessalonians 2:18)

When people make up rules on the spot, you know that is Satan. When you are told you can’t have a gathering, but there is a car race going on in the background, that is Satan. When not a single case of Coronavirus is recorded within 200 miles, and you are accused of being irresponsible, that is Satan. When lukewarm churches oppose soul winning and miracles, then you know it is Satan.

The good people of Chico were robbed—not by a virus but by hate and fear. They were robbed by leftists prematurely spreading a panic. In my opinion, they were targeting Christians. Even now, Casinos are still open, while at the same time, churches are ordered to close.  As if Casinos have some magical protection that churches don’t.

Satan wants to stop all of our crusades. Satan knew the momentum that would be generated by this crusade. Here is what really bites: Not one person would have gotten sick from the virus, but a lot of people would have been healed of serious diseases. I believe that cancers would have been healed, along with many other truly life threatening sicknesses.

But more importantly, the worst sickness of all would have been healed—sin sick souls! I just got off the phone with one of our board members. He was telling me how a friend he has been inviting to church for many years, but who would never go, had agreed to come to the Tent in Chico. Only God knows how many other souls would have come.

I had to calm down a fire-breathing army of soul winners who were all set to return to Chico today and hit the streets. At this point, they would have been unduly endangered, trying to pray for people. They would also be in direct defiance of the government’s orders. No, the devil may have won this battle.  BUT NEVER AGAIN!

Do you still want to ask what I am going to do now?   We were born in the fire of student riots. We waded through tear gas and protesters.  During the A.I.D.S. epidemic we never backed down. Ten more epidemics have come and gone since then. What are we going to do?

We will not relent. We will reload. As soon as the ban lifts we will win more souls than ever. We are going to expand our outreach to the Highway 99 Corridor. Every aspect of our outreach will intensify.

I know the Coronavirus is a real crisis. I agree that getting America to lay low will help blunt the epidemic. I am not in disagreement with the call to limit this virus. I do not oppose the safeguards that are recommended now by health professionals.

Here’s what I do oppose. I oppose the Left which is creating a parallel crisis of fear and panic. They seek to divide and blame and inflame mindless passions. But, what else is new?

My other issue is this: closing down churches while leaving other places where people gather wide open does not look like an effort to stop a virus. It looks like an effort to stop the church. And what will California do after this virus passes? Will they let up on the church or have they created a pretext to stop the church any time and for any reason they want?

I remember how, during a major drought, they raised the price of water with a solemn promise that when the drought ended prices would return to normal. Instead, right when the drought subsided they invented one of the most insidious surcharges I’ve ever heard of. It’s called an elevation charge. They charge people for how high the water had to flow to get to them—even when there was zero evidence that it cost them anything extra to deliver the water.

This is an hour when discernment is crucial. The church must abide by rules that protect the public and help stop the pandemic. But the church must also be aware when being shut down is not happening because of a virus, rather, it is happening because the Left wants to shut down churches and stop the Gospel.

But they will fail.

“So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun; when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him. The Redeemer will come to Zion, and to those who turn from transgression in Jacob,” says the Lord. (Is. 59:19-20)

The CaliforniaVirus

A caravan of trucks is making its way toward Chico, California. They are carrying everything needed for a full blown Tent crusade. Vessels of God from many parts of America and other nations are on a pilgrimage to Chico. This holy core of workers say Jesus told them to join Him on the frontlines of a hurting city. They took the flights others told them not to take. They told their bosses that winning the lost and healing the sick takes priority.

A friend is someone who walks in, when everyone else walks out. This holy core of workers is the best friend this or any city could ever have. We would never tell the police to skip their duty because of a virus. We would never tell a nurse or doctor to hide at home. We would never tell any first responder to take the day off because they might encounter risk. How can we say any less to a soldier of the Cross? How can we overrule them? If they say they have a mandate from God, who are you, or who am I, to tell them differently? All I ever say is, “Make sure it’s God, then act on it!”

That doesn’t mean we do not take the Coronavirus seriously, we do! We will not act recklessly, or break any law.  We are in compliance with state guidelines, and we will obey any civil authority when it comes to this crusade. However, we see another virus that is just as deadly.

The virus we are fighting in Chico and all along the Highway 99 corridor, is the CaliforniaVirus. It is deadly. Morally bankrupt intellectualism is why millions writhe in meaningless lives in this State. Meanwhile, their leaders in Sacramento heap more misery on them and then force them to pay for it. The grand experiment of California values has created America’s greatest human tragedy.

In Silicon Valley, workers who gave their lives for a company are being replaced by cheaper labor, and to add insult to injury, they are forced to train the people who are stealing their jobs. In Hollywood, vacuous and ignorant celebrities preach to us about the sacrifices we must make, while they live in obscene luxury.

Giddiness is a symptom of the CaliforniaVirus. It’s how a parent can grin and feel enlightened as a transgender man in a sexy sequined dress reads a story to their 5 year old. It’s how teachers can scold a first grader for calling a friend Johnny who has changed their name to Sally. This Virus redefines child abuse.

This infection of the mind and soul has caused them to come up with ideas like free needles for addicts, and AWOL methods of handling the homeless. (https://sites.google.com/a/coyotes.usd.edu/awolatusd/social-issues/homelessness)

It’s how San Francisco, the most beautiful city in America, has been transformed into a slum, covered in human and medical waste. The fever of CaliforniaVirus is how educators have ignored their children’s need to learn how to read and write, and instead, have indoctrinated them with leftist ideology and books about sexual positions. It is why more and more of our children are turning to suicide.

The Virus says that if a fetus makes it to full-term and is born alive, the mother can still have it killed. The Virus says we should leave our border open so the other virus can get in.”

Its final symptoms are denial and smugness. So what if crime is off the charts? So what if addiction is pandemic? So what if our kids won’t know how to make a living? Who cares if innocent citizens are murdered by those who have illegally invaded our nation? The Virus says, ‘Lift the restrictions on criminals, create a revolving door in our prisons and at the same time, remove the right of law-abiding citizens to protect themselves.’

The CaliforniaVirus will destroy more lives than any other virus. It drains joy, decency, and sanity from its victims. Let’s admit what this virus is…it is pure despair-inducing evil.

So: Why are we here in Chico?

Because the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the cure for the CaliforniaVirus!

It restores dignity. It breaks the chains of addiction. It infuses a lost heart with unstoppable hope. It cleanses the past, empowers the present, and guarantees the future!

Jesus will be in the Tent curing the CaliforniaVirus. Our message is clear, and yes, we will be hated for its clarity.

Nothing can say it better than Acts 2:40, “(Peter) went on in this vein for a long time, urging them over and over, “Get out while you can; get out of this sick and stupid culture!” (The Message)

We are saying to the masses that are lying crushed beneath the weight of California’s moral turpitude—

COME TO JESUS AND BE SAVED AND HEALED!

FIVE PROVEN WAYS TO WIN SOULS IN CALIFORNIA

Jesus called His Father, the ‘Lord of the harvest.’ “…when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”” (Matthew 9:36-38)

Those words tell us a lot. It tells us that God the Father is leading the charge to win souls.  We then join Him in the harvest. It is a good reminder to us never to be intimidated by California culture. Yes, there is hostility, perversion, and hardness of heart. But none of that is a match for God.

Satan does not want you to believe there is a harvest in California—a vast harvest. If we only knew how many people God has right now on the verge of being converted to Christ, it would truly shock us all!

Here are five proven ways to win souls in California.

1. Be baptized in the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:8, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” The Baptism of the Holy Spirit was given, first and foremost, as a gift to empower soul winning. Every other benefit, while glorious, is secondary. The primary reason for this gift is: power to be a witness.

The Baptism will put wise words within you and boldness to speak those words. You may think you are too shy to witness. You may find it impossible to picture yourself sharing your faith. But the Holy Spirit will rise within you and make you a powerful and effective soul winner. Consider the difference the Baptism of the Holy Spirit made in Peter. He went from a man who was so afraid, to the point that he denied Christ three times, to a man who was as bold as a lion and who converted thousands on the day of Pentecost.

2. Write a short summary of your testimony. Revelation 12:11, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives unto death.” The most effective weapon you will ever use to win souls is your own account of how Jesus saved you. Memorize it. Make it a habit to refer to it often.

E. Stanley Jones was the Billy Graham of his day. He developed a debate forum where atheists and intellectuals were challenged to face off with Christians. Often he would not divulge who was going to defend the Faith before these prominent atheists. Then he would introduce his team: new converts. Time and time again the intellectuals would be stymied by the simple power of a changed life. No matter what they threw at these new believers, they would get the same answer back, “All I know is, once I was lost, but now I am found.” That is your edge!

We have all been told we need ‘ice breakers’ and deep theological statements in order to witness. Not true! What we need, and what the hurting soul needs is the simple story of your transformation.

3. Identify your harvest field. A better name for this is your circle of influence. These are people you deal with in your everyday life. They are hairstylists, waiters in your favorite restaurant, classmates, friends, and even family.

They know you. They have seen you on your good days and on your bad days. They already know what you believe, and they respect you. While it’s true that the whole world is our mission field, this is your primary harvest field.

It won’t be strange if the subject of your walk with Jesus comes up. This will happen because they have been watching your life. They can tell a difference between how you respond to problems, and what problems do to them. This is why we must live what we preach. They see the power of Christ in how we handle a crisis.

It is inevitable that an opportunity to share your miracle will present itself.

4. Reap the ripe harvest. Don’t argue with fools or angry people. It is a total waste of time and worse. Mark Twain said, “Never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell the difference.”

The Bible says it this way: “Don’t answer the foolish arguments of fools, or you will become as foolish as they are.” (Proverbs 26:4)

Why waste your time trying to convince someone who only wants to fight? Especially when you are surrounded by people overwhelmed by their life and who have great anxiety about the future. They are asking deep questions. That is a harvest ready to be picked.

But there is another gigantic reason to discern the harvest, and it’s in the following two verses.

Joel 28, “And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh…”

John 16:8, “And when (the Holy Spirit) has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment…”

The first verse tells us something wonderful came upon all of humanity on the Day of Pentecost. The second verse describes what the Spirit Who fell on them is doing in them. Every human being is under the influence of the Holy Spirit. That influence is convicting them of sin, and warning them of the disaster of living their life without God.

How wonderful to realize that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit makes you the perfect voice to someone who is already under His influence.

5. Don’t just invite them to a meeting—bring them.

Here is exactly how we instruct people to bring souls to our Tent: Don’t just invite people—ask them to come with you. Pick them up and drive them to the tent. Buy them a meal either before or after the crusade. If it is before, it is a wonderful chance to brief them on what they are about to experience. Tell them they will hear a message that will encourage them and give them inner peace. Tell them that they will see a demonstration of the power of God that will confirm that what they are hearing is real and that it is the truth.  Or if you choose to go out afterwards, it is an outstanding opportunity to reflect on what happened during the meeting.

I work hard to enforce the atmosphere God wants in the Tent. Our theme verse is this: “Nevertheless, they stayed there a long time, preaching boldly, and the Lord proved their message was from Him by giving them power to do great miracles.” (Acts 14:3)

We don’t do fire tunnels, inner healing, personal prophecy, or marathon worship. Is it because we want a harmless user-friendly service? Not at all! You will see prophecy in the Tent that causes the hearers to be convicted of their sins. They will fall to their knees and “worship God, declaring that God is truly among you” (see 1 Cor. 14:25). There will be messages in tongues and interpretation. We do cast out demons. There will be instantaneous healings and addictions will vanish.

Can you guess the difference? Everything we do in the Tent is to show the lost soul that they are loved and that the power of God is real.

The bottom line is that we must win the lost in California. We have no excuse for not doing so, because the harvest is indeed ripe. Along with our regular worship we need services that are unselfish. You aren’t serious about winning the lost if there is no deliberate plan to get them there. You aren’t serious about winning souls if you make outsiders sit through 90 minutes of a single phrase like, “Open the floodgates of heaven.” You aren’t serious about winning souls if your meeting is strictly for saints to get a deeper buzz than ever before.

I challenge you to try the things I have written about in this blog. Just under the surface, California contains the largest harvest in America!

THE LEFTISTS OF CALIFORNIA ARE TODAY’S PHARISEES

The Beast described in the 13th chapter of the book of Revelation isn’t after justice, equality, or the wellbeing of people. He is also called the false prophet who will absorb the power of the world and bestow it on the antichrist. California government is behaving the same way—absorbing a way of life to offer it to the God of “Wokeness.”

They have unleashed misery on the people. They have turned God fearing, hardworking, law abiding citizens into hostages in their own homes.

Gavin Newsom and his cohorts have proven they don’t want a better life for law-abiding Californians. Quite the opposite—they are hell-bent on ending something they don’t understand, in favor of something they can’t even define. They are acting as if they are part of some kind of doomsday cult.

Nothing else explains their tyrannical intrusion into every aspect of the lives of Californians. Nothing else explains their blatant suspension of the Bill of Rights in California—specifically: the freedom of religion, the freedom of speech, and the right to bear arms.

The leftists of California are today’s Pharisees. There are three ways in which they behave like the Pharisees in the New Testament.

1. They have laid aside the Word of God in favor of their traditions. Jesus told the Pharisees they were guilty of “laying aside the commandment of God,” telling them, “you hold the tradition of men.” (Mark 7:8).

The leftists in Sacramento have done this not only to the Bible, but to the Constitution of the United States. Their treatise of tyranny is called “California values.” These values, which they want to be the blueprint for the other 49 states, overrule freedom of religion, freedom of speech, and the right to dissent.

Here are the very words of the Constitution: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

California has denied those who defy their politics or religious views the right to assemble. They dare to call it a ‘safety precaution.’ California social media instantly bans voices they deem contrary to “California values.”

One California Congressman named Evan Low even said to the Christian churches of California, “The church must evolve.” And if you dare to disagree with their agenda, they feel they have the right to disband your organization.

2. They won’t lift a finger.

How perfectly Ricky Gervais exposed Hollywood Pharisees when he said, “People who live in obscene luxury and entitlement have no business scolding everyday hard working people.”

Jesus said, “(The Pharisees) bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. But all their works they do to be seen by men.” (Matthew 23:4-5)

3. They are hypocrites: They decry global warming, but fly everywhere in private jets, leaving a huge carbon footprint. They want to take away your guns, but their private security is armed to the teeth. They want you to sacrifice, but they will live as they please.

Silicon Valley is a bastion of income inequality. Their hypocrisy knows no limit. They say all the right things—with that familiar smug, distant look on their faces—and yet, they condemn Wall Street for all the things they themselves do.

Google, Apple, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter are all hypocrites. Apple bills itself as a champion of human rights but uses sweatshops in China. Google says, “Don’t be evil,” but censors anyone who has opposing views.  Facebook and Twitter shadow-ban Christians and Conservatives, even as they are touting ‘freedom of expression’ and the beauty of ‘sharing ideas.’

Here is the new sacrament of Sacramento:

Thou shalt have drag queens read to your children in public libraries. Thou shalt let boys into your little girl’s restroom at school. Thou shalt be taught about sexual positions and self-gratification in the classroom. Thou wilt not farm the land because we must use the water to save a 4 inch fish. Thou shalt not cut the underbrush even if it causes massive wildfires. Thou shalt welcome the thousands of felons and sexual predators we release into your neighborhood and let them double your crime rate. Thou shalt not have healthcare, yet thou shalt be taxed to pay for the healthcare of those who came here illegally. Thou shalt help pay for free needles for drug addicts, and free contraceptives and abortions through your taxes. Thou shalt be homeless while non-citizens are housed and veterans sleep under bridges. Thou shalt call MS-13 gangsters ‘children of God,’ as Mother Nancy hast said. Thou shalt not turn over to the police illegals who have murdered Americans—even if they murder thine own child.

Finally, there is the vast human tragedy unfolding in the Central Valley of California. A PBS report said, “In the suburbs of East Contra Costa County, the poverty rate has grown by more than 70 percent in the past decade.”  That doesn’t begin to tell the story of every way in which California has failed millions living in the cities on Highway 99.

Stress and despair drives an alcohol and drug epidemic. Highway 99 is the most dangerous highway in America for DUI.  The gangs are expanding and oppress the people. Farmers watch land turn into dust bowls while trillions of gallons of fresh water are pouring into the Bay. Despair is everywhere.

I rebuke this devil—this heresy of “California values.” We are taking our tent and a message of signs, wonders and miracles into the mouth of this dragon. There is a special vengeance resting upon me because I know that the good people who live along Highway 99 deserve better. Yes, I will take it out on the devil for the lies he has told California. I nurse a fond wish, not only for massive revival, but for an awakening that rises to action and votes these criminals out of office!

WHY I WILL NEVER COMPROMISE

Mario Murillo Ministries was born different.  From the jump, we faced persecution.   While still in high school, I preached in the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco, which was ground zero for the ‘love and peace’ movement.  Moving across the bay to Berkeley meant going from the frying pan into the fire.

The instant we hit Berkeley, we had to decide.  What would we preach?  How would we preach it?

If our message was of human origin, the crucible of Berkeley would have blown it to smithereens.

Instead, unexplained power appeared at each point where the ministry was threatened.  Something supernatural from God would always step in…providing words, resources, ideas and miracles, exactly when we needed them.

Not once in that cauldron of revolution, did we feel the need to rebrand Christ or present a new and improved gospel.

For years, modern pastors, including the Pope, have told us to keep our faith to ourselves and to “tone it down.” This advice cost us a generation of Americans.

We retreated into a cultural bubble. We entertained, amused, inspired, and distracted. We did everything but preach the Gospel.  We did everything but convert Americans.

Worse still, the preaching dumbed-down the average Christian. They were unable to defend their faith. They could not explain God’s view of a ‘one man, one woman’ marriage. They didn’t see the Bible as the inspired Word of God and therefore were scripturally illiterate.

The reason the Church adopted this “indirect approach” was to try to get society to like us. Boy! Did that backfire!  It fueled even greater contempt for the Church.

The media maligns Christians every day.  Atheists call us a threat to human progress.  Secular progressives condemn us as hating the poor, homosexuals, and women.

We’ve seen this before. The same Holy Spirit Who empowered us with wisdom and miracles to face Berkeley will mount a fresh invasion, because God has given us a fresh plan for invading America. But we must do it before it is too late.

The verses below reveal a three-point plan that was given by an angel to the disciples when the church was gravely threatened.

Acts 5:19,   But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and, leading them out, said, “Go, take your stand in the temple courts and declare to the people the whole teaching concerning this Life” (the eternal life which Christ revealed.)

Using those simple words, the Holy Spirit has commanded me to do three things.

1. Take a stand. We cannot judge other ministries. We can only answer for what God has asked us to do. He has ordered us to take a stand.  There is no confusion about what the angel was asking the men of God to do.  He was telling them to stake-out their ground in their nation.  This is not just a physical act; it is also moral and spiritual. We must take a stand against Satan’s agenda for America and we must take a stand for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We, all of us who believe, belong in the national conversation.  America has a drug, divorce, suicide, anger, and atheism problem. We carry the cure for everything that is hurting America.  The angel reinforced to the disciples that their message was both valid and urgent.

2.Take your stand in the temple courts. The temple courts were the heart of Jerusalem. The angel is unambiguously instructing them to raise their voices in the very center of their culture. Our message should not be hidden in religious safe zones.

In that same way, we must go where the biggest lies are being told.  The angel gave them an exact location where they were to take their stand—and that location told the Apostles: God is serious about making a difference in the culture.

3.Tell all of the words of this Life. What a scathing rebuke to popular Christianity! While Christian celebrities scurry to and fro to find buzzwords to replace the core doctrines of the Bible, here is an angel telling the disciples that they must tell all the words of Life.  They cannot leave out one single benefit or command from the message of Jesus Christ.

How right that angel was.  There is Life in those words.  There is Life in the blood of Christ, the cross, and the resurrection.  There is Life in them so amazing that no mountain of eloquence or cunningly devised sermon can begin to match.

We disavow the notion that we should tone down the Gospel. We must tell all the words of eternal Life! Not a message condemning men to hell, but a clear and loving warning to escape not only eternal hell, but the hell they are in right now.

Millions are innocent bystanders. They have not rejected Christ.  They are just caught in the middle. They only hear the haters who make up the secular media who tell lies skillfully, while the church tells the truth badly.

Let us take supernatural miracles to these millions!

Let us bear the offense of the Cross of Christ!

Let us proclaim the glory of His Resurrection!

Supernatural power will overtake what we preach.  Our results will greatly surpass the results of popular preaching.  Society will not balk at Jesus’ requirement of total commitment, because they will see mighty breakthroughs in their souls, minds, and bodies.

There will be neither compromise nor lack of power in our Tent. Our God will grant a flood tide of miracles that will overflow the Tent and become the river through the heart of California, and then, America.

In Chico, Roseville, Modesto, Fresno, McFarland and Bakersfield, we will take a stand in the heart of each city, and tell all the words of this life! I hope you will come and join us!

Declaring miracle healing to a skeptical public is our solemn duty.

There’s a good reason, my mind raced back to the night someone tried to kill me on the U. C. Berkeley campus. In a few days, we will take the biggest risk in the history of Mario Murillo Ministries. We are about to invest more money, train more soldiers, and cast the deepest, and widest net for souls in California.

Believe me, praying over 5 Miracle rallies in Churches, followed by 5 meetings with leaders, culminating in 5 Living Proof Tent crusades is overwhelming tonight. It is a crushing weight.

God answered in a strange way. Instantly, I was taken back to Berkeley—back to that fateful day on campus. Why was God taking me back to this day? What did it have to do with Living Proof California?

I recall that day in Berkeley as if it just happened. I am so terrified of witnessing that I am pacing and praying all day on a hillside above the campus of 44,000 students.  I ask God: “How do I reach a generation of students who are bent on Marxist revolution?”

One voice within me argued, “You must study the great modern apologists of the faith and give an intellectual defense of the faith.  Immerse yourself in the writings of Francis Schaeffer, C. S. Lewis, and G. K. Chesterton.”   The other voice said simply, “It is not by might nor by power, but by My spirit.”

The answer came emphatically that night.  I am sharing my intellect based “apologetic faith” with a flower child in front of the Student Union Building of Cal. Berkeley at about 11 p.m.   What I could not see was the massive, angry radical, stealing up behind me.

This atheist Goliath grabs me by the neck and begins choking the life out of me, I realize the words of great Christian intellectuals are useless now.  I am sure that young campus radical did not understand why he felt this sudden rage against me.

The powers of darkness understand what was at stake here: Miracle based soul winning is a grave threat to Satan, and demons will stop at nothing to kill miracle ministry before it is born.

God orders me to take my stand in the power of the Spirit, and in my own faltering way I did.  My assailant suddenly stopped and stood stunned by something he saw behind me in the shadows.  To this day I do not know what startled him, I only know that he released his grip on my throat and I ran. As I ran, I affirmed my commitment to the Supernatural Gospel of Christ.

That did it! We began telling people they could come and be healed. Having settled the question in Berkeley, we announced our first healing rally.  I was such a raw recruit that I stood in front of the audience, frozen in fear.

In the crowd that night a young man lay unconscious on a couch at the back of the chapel.  A mixture of LSD and heroin had put him into a coma.   Supernaturally, by the power of the Holy Spirit, he woke up and his symptoms vanished.   He came to the front and knelt in utter adoration of God.

This single healing launched ten years of harvest on the Berkeley University campus.

I returned to the present and heard this phrase: Declaring miracle healing to a skeptical public is not theatrics. It’s a solemn duty.”

We now know that our problem is not just the budget or the magnitude of the task.  Our issue was with miracles. There is so much skepticism, and there has been so much abuse, that we felt a soberness about miracles. We don’t want to be confused with any of the charlatans who operate freely today.

Is it even right to publicly offer hope to those medical science can’t help?  Is it right to raise the expectations of those who have given up on everything else? Then it hit me: Jesus, at the dawn of His ministry made this very public announcement:

Luke 4:18: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19 to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

He did this, so that the miracles can be released.  And that is precisely what we, the church of Jesus should do.  We must go public.

If what say we say about Christ’s power to save and heal is false, then we are, as Paul said, the worst liars in history.  But if it is true, we must offer it freely and publicly, or we are the worst traitors in history!

So what if some have abused the gifts of the Spirit. Does that mean we do not do it right—by the power and leading of the Holy Spirit? So what if some say miracles are not for today? Do we go by man’s word or by God’s word?

I have my answer. Not only is it right to offer hope and declare openly the available miracles of Jesus—it is our duty.

In our tent, the rules of the street will die. In our tent, the chains of sickness and despair will fall off. In our tent an entire generation of Californians will find the life they were born to live. Do what you can to get involved in this most holy mission to California.

P.S. Our very first event for Living Proof California is in Chico. Join us for monumental miracle meetings. Here’s a video message from Mario.

CALIFORNIA: WE DID NOT DISOBEY THE HEAVENLY VISION

I spoke one Sunday morning in Stockton, and that afternoon I took a nap before the evening rally. God gave me a dream. He told me that California Highway 99, from Red Bluff to Arvin, would be a raging river of healing and salvation. When I woke up I had no idea I was to have any involvement in fulfilling this prophetic dream. I assumed it was for the audience in Stockton, where I was going to preach that night.

Five years later, Rick Wiles gave us a beautiful new 8,000 square foot tent and 1,000 chairs. We suddenly knew that the dream I had in Stockton was a mandate for us. God had called us to take His miracle power down the full length of Highway 99.

At the same time we were given that tent, without our knowing about it, Frank Saldana and Inner City Action felt led to study how tents are erected, and were learning how to use them in ministry.  God was putting a team together.

At the same time, God was forming a close friendship between our ministry and that of Jim and Kristine Carpenter from The Bridge in Marysville. We knew Marysville would be our first stop on the Highway 99 corridor of Glory.

God made it very clear: no matter how little support you have—no matter how much resistance you face—no matter how impossible it looks, keep moving forward to set up the tent where the Spirit directs you, and don’t stop.

There was a reason God exhorted us in this way. Our journey always looked impossible. There was an amazing amount of resistance. We had to rely on support that came from shockingly unexpected sources. We had to repeatedly pick ourselves up, after many setbacks.

We learned the hard way that a great portion of the Body of Christ is not interested in winning souls—especially not in dangerous locations.

Marysville proved that our calling was truly supernatural. We had to fit our tent onto a parking lot that barely fit our tent. The weather turned cold and wet, and still, crowds came from everywhere. We saw the dream become reality when the river of healing and salvation broke out in Marysville. Thank God we were able to move the tent to a professional baseball stadium.  We closed out that first crusade in constant rain, and then the temperature dropped down to 40 degrees. But, in spite of this, it was packed!

We had no idea where the tent was supposed to go next. All of this was so sudden that we never had the luxury of advanced planning.

Then the Lord told us our next stop was to be Paradise, California. I protested, ‘Paradise is burned to the ground. There is no electricity or water there. Most of all, there are no people there.’  So I placed it back in God’s hands and said that, if we get a call to come to Paradise in the next week, we will go.

Seven days later we received that phone call, and during our time in Paradise we witnessed the power of God to save, to heal, and to bind up the many broken-hearted who had lost loved ones in the fire.

Our next tent crusade was in Stockton and was our most dangerous yet. We were shouted down. The fire department would not let us put on the sides to our tent, leaving us wide open to a park filled with addicts, the homeless, and gangsters. We were literally sitting ducks.  Yet again, we saw God overrule the powers of darkness as the openness worked to our advantage, and He gave us souls and miracles.

When we arrived in Dinuba, we proved the power of God in a way we had not seen in any other crusade. The entire town was aware of the tent sitting on the bare ground where the new Dinuba High School would soon be built. And, it was in Dinuba that we first encountered crowds that overflowed the tent.

The report of healing miracles spread across town, and the stories about how wounded souls were being transformed got out into the community, and it soon became clear that the entire city knew God was at work.

And finally, toward the end of November, the last tent crusade of 2019 took place in Hanford. It was the most powerful on every level. The unity among the pastors there was the best we had seen. The excitement level was greater than anywhere else. The altars were crowded every night with souls seeking Jesus. God did wonderful and undeniable healing miracles.

Thousands upon thousands were reached by Christ in this tour on Highway 99. Local churches have been fired up and equipped to expand and continue the revival.

Paul wrote in Acts 26:19 that he “was not disobedient to the heavenly vision.” And:

WE WERE NOT DISOBEDIENT TO AN IMPOSSIBLE CALLING!

To all who gave so sacrificially to make this tour possible—to all who prayed, worked and battled alongside us—to all who stood with us in the face of unimaginable resistance, both from inside and outside the church—to all of you I give my deepest thanks, and I am praying that God will richly bless all of you!

Now we come to the most astonishing news. Our momentum is carrying us forward into 2020. We are able to announce that we are going to continue down Highway 99 once again in the coming New Year. The Lord has directed us to reach 5 cities in 2020, and these dates are locked in:

Everything in me is telling me these meetings will be bigger, more powerful and more effective than any tent crusades we have held so far. God is taking us from reaching thousands to reaching tens of thousands. We very strongly desire your prayers. We need your church to back these outreaches. We are praying the Lord of the Harvest to send the needed workers.

And so, dear friends, by the grace and power of the Holy Spirit, and with your continued support, the river rages on!  Join us for our first event in Chico.

Special nights of miracles in Chico to kick off the California tent tour!

2020

We kept our promise. We were obedient to the Godly Dream

Just when Satan thought he was safe

A highly visible worship leader defects from the faith. A million-seller Christian-influencer denies Christ. Social media blocks churches. A national frenzy for immorality. Millions raging in anger against believers.

Satan believes he is safe against the prospect of revival. He could not be more wrong—and the pessimists in the church could not be more wrong.

Revival struck London through John Wesley when everyone thought it was impossible.   One out of every seven houses in London was a house of prostitution.  More people were attending séances than church.  Nearly 100,000 children lived in slums like animals.  The London Times had not mentioned Christmas for decades…not even once.

After the revival, England became the missionary leader to the world.

Revival struck Kentucky when it was unthinkable.  This was the most lawless state in the union.  There was no police force.  Every criminal on the run headed for Kentucky.  Murder, rape, and alcoholism were pandemic.  Revival flipped Kentucky so violently that it became the most zealously Christian State in America.

The early twentieth century was a far more skeptical era than today.  The blush of Darwinism and Marxism was so feverish that it was a foregone conclusion that Christianity would go away altogether. Scientists declared the Age of Reason and solemnly assured us that religion would be a thing of the past by the 1920s.

Imagine in that atmosphere, if you were to have said in 1906, “A one eyed black man is going to rent an old and dingy horse livery on Azusa Street in downtown Los Angeles, and start a movement that will engulf nearly 600 million people worldwide.”  The men in white would have been sent to collect you.

The point is that revivals are impossibleuntil they happen.

You should also know what the church was preaching in those darkest moments before the awakenings began.  Pulpits were filled with pessimists who, instead of rebuking the despair, joined in the chorus.  They declared the day of revival to be over!  But, even that did not stop God.

How is it that revival can strike without warning in the most unpromising times and grow in the hardest soil?  The answer is that when darkness is intense, we tend look at the wrong indicators.  It’s not that there are no warning signs that revival is coming, it is simply that we do not know them when we see them because the fear is so loud.

Look at today.  Do you see any signs of revival?  Most would say, “Absolutely not!”  They would say all of the same things that people have said prior to every outpouring of God: Revival cannot come because the times are too evil.

That is the argument today.  We have legalized gay marriage. We have legalized drugs. And we are even toying with Islam.  Many of our leaders are delusional snowflakes that are bent on finding the best ways to drive us to extinction.  Churches are closing and thousands of ministers are leaving the ministry every year.  You know the rest, because you have heard it a hundred times.

Atheists are boasting that the whole world in general is becoming secular and anti-supernatural.  The facts are just the opposite.  It is a very religious world, far more religious than it was 50 years ago.

Consider these statistics from sociologist Rodney Stark:

Gallup World Poll Surveys of more than a million people living in 163 nations show that:

  • 81 percent claim to belong to an organized religious faith, and most of the rest report engaging in religious activities such as prayer or making offerings to the gods in various “folk religion” temples.
  • 74 percent say religion is an important part of their daily lives.
  • 50 percent report they have attended a place of worship or religious service in the past seven days.
  • In very few nations do as many as five percent claim to be atheists, and only in China, Vietnam, and South Korea do they exceed 20 percent.
  • Furthermore, in every nook and cranny left by organized faiths, all manner of unconventional spiritual and mystical practices are booming.
  • There are more occult healers than medical doctors in Russia.
  • 38 percent of the French believe in astrology.
  • 35 percent of the Swiss agree that “some fortune tellers really can foresee the future.”
  • Nearly everyone in Japan is careful to have their new car blessed by a Shinto priest.

To be sure, little of this is Christian, but it is undeniable that the waters of supernatural hunger are being stirred worldwide.

Another sign is the evil within people themselves.   For example, Saul of Tarsus was at the peak of his terror-attacks on the church when he was violently converted. What no one but God knew was that there was a growing desperation inside of this Pharisee, who would soon become Paul the Apostle.   In a similar way, societies are often at their worst right before revival.

What we do not want to do is miss revival when it hits!

Dark times can absorb our faith in the power of God.  Many believers find themselves in a condition that is truly worse than they ever imagined.  Pangs of fear grip men of God who were once lions in the pulpit.  We invent doctrines that fit our disappointment.  We build ministries based on our lowered expectations.

You need a healthy respect for how the power of dark times can rob us of faith.  It has happened to the best of us.

500 people saw Jesus Christ ascend into the clouds.  Think about that.  In the face of such absolute proof that Jesus was the Son of God, how could they ever doubt?

As He ascended He told them to wait in Jerusalem for the promise of the Holy Spirit.  Surely they would wait…right?  Astonishingly, only 120 were still waiting in the upper room on the Day of Pentecost.  How is it possible in the face of so great an assurance that those eyewitnesses would falter and abandon their posts?

Their world was filled with sudden terror from a wicked king, oppression from religious leaders, and tyranny from Roman occupiers.  Their daily grind absorbed their zeal for the promises of God.

Do not be like those 380 people who missed one of the greatest moments in history.  Here are two things that you need to confess and say to your spirit, so that you will not leave the upper room.

Either it was always true or it was never true. Times do not alter truth. A lack of money does not change God’s word about prosperity.  Sickness does not nullify the fact of God’s healing power.  The evil of men does not overrule the supremacy of Christ.  If God has made you promises, these dark times cannot stop their fulfillment.

Here is an example of that: 1 Samuel 17:34, “But David said to Saul, ‘Your servant used to keep his father’s sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock, 35 I went out after it and struck it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard, and struck and killed it. 36 Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.”

It is easy to say that evil today is more intense and sophisticated than ever before.  But, neither Saul nor Israel had ever faced anything like Goliath before.  David said that it did not matter; this new threat would have the same outcome as all of the previous threats God had given him victory over!

Jesus is telling us to wait for the power that is about to break out, no matter what.  Does revival look totally impossible to you?  Don’t worry, revivals all look that way until they happen.

THE STORY

Before I get to the story of this photo with former New York Mayor Guiliani, I must tell you why Mechelle and I are in Washington D.C. We are doing a conference with Lance Wallnau. We know this is God because we are phasing out participating in conferences.

I had a revelation and personal revolution in the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, N.C. The entire library was deeply moving and convicting to me, but one thing was emblazoned in my Spirit. It was the short video of Billy Graham at 92 years of age talking with Greta Van Susteren.  She asked him what he would have done differently.

He answered that he wouldn’t have traveled as much. Greta said, “Why? Look at all the people you have helped by travelling.” He responded by saying that he would have done just as many crusades, but fewer conferences. He felt that the travel was unnecessary and often distracting from family and soul winning. He added that he would have prayed and studied more, and spent time getting to know Jesus better.

There are no words to describe the revolution in my soul. I knew immediately that I had to make changes. Events had to either be about winning souls or directly relate to soul winning. The ones that I had to take a pass on are worthy events that deserve support, but I simply must follow my heart. That was why the Extreme Dream Conference in Washington D. C. stayed on my schedule. This event is explosive in its potential to see not only souls saved on a mass scale, but it can also lead to moral reformation.

The instruction that Lance dispensed to us was urgent. What little contribution I made to them was not nearly as powerful as what we received.

I am returning to Reno, transformed, and I know our efforts will be impacted by our time with Sid Roth on It’s Supernatural, with Lance Wallnau, as well as Larry Sparks of Destiny Image.

As to the picture with Rudi Guiliani—the former Mayor is a big hero of mine. Mechelle and I were sitting having lunch in the Trump Hotel when we noticed Mayor Guiliani seated a few tables away. I couldn’t help it, I wanted to meet him. So we got up and went over to his table, but were gently rebuffed by his bodyguard. I was so disappointed.

As we returned to our seats, this thought hit me, “You can’t force things. Let God bring them to you.” This had little to do with Rudi. It had to do with some very big things coming to this ministry. I never gave this another thought all day.

We had a powerful day and late that night we decided to get a bite in the lobby. Out of nowhere Rudi Guiliani charges up to me and gives me a big hug! I know, right!

No one who saw this could explain it. My wife frantically took these pictures.

There is a message in here for all of us. God is going to bring favor and many breakthroughs. We must walk in faith and obedience, even when we see no results. God will make it happen for all who refuse to give up or back down.

Again, this encounter with Rudi was not about him—and not about me. It was a wink from God. It was a confirmation that His favor, and a way of letting us know that there are going to be many miracles in the upcoming meetings in California!
