Above All Remember These Things

Matthew 2:3, “When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.”

Dear Friend,

Today is Christmas day, so remember this:  Yes, we live in a world of explosive insecurity.  Yes, we live in a time where disaster comes without warning and destroys lives instantly.

America has finally become the generation with nothing to look forward to.  This is a time where people are melting down because of a crushing sense of helplessness and despair.  Some react with mindless panic and rage. They shoot and kill their loved ones and then turn the gun on themselves rather than face their losses.  Others are too frozen by fear and uncertainty to do anything.  Still others frantically try to numb their despair by plunging into addictions and perversions that prior generations never imagined.

How deep and widespread is this panic?  It is so pervasive that it has seeped into the hearts of God’s people.  Many in the church, including leaders, admit that they have developed destructive addictions trying to cope with anxiety.

This Christmas threatens to be a time of very little comfort and joy.  Many who love the Lord passionately will not even celebrate it this year!  If you are under attack, if you feel the devastating sense of helplessness, then it is time for you to remember one thing about this Christmas.

Christmas is not just the story of the most important birth in history; it is the proof that an invisible force guards the children of God with unstoppable, irresistible, compassionate protection. Christmas unfolds the masterstroke of God our Father against evil.  Let me explain!

He was the most anticipated person in history and yet His arrival fooled everyone. It requires skill from beyond our planet to sneak the Desire of all nations into our world unobserved with only a handful taking notice. God can fool anyone and He cannot be fooled by anyone.

This Christmas threatens to be a time of very little comfort and joy.  Many who love the Lord passionately will not even celebrate it this year!  If you are under attack, if you feel this devastating sense of helplessness, then it is time for you to remember one thing about this Christmas.

The Jews believed that the arrival of the long awaited Messiah, the Son of God, would be with all the pomp and ceremony possible.  They expected to immediately lay crowns and scepters at his feet, and that the high and mighty princes of the world should have been his humble servants.  He came into the world, and the world knew Him not.  Hcame to his own, and His own received him not.

It was not as if his arrival was without fireworks. The first burst of wonder came to the shepherds in Luke chapter 2.  They saw and heard glorious things concerning Him, and made them known abroad, to the amazement of everyone (v. 17-18).  After this, in Luke 2:38, Simeon and Anna by the Holy Spirit spoke of Him to all who were willing to listen.

You would think that this would have shaken the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem, so that they would have finally risen up as one and embrace the long-looked-for Messiah; but no.  He continued to live for nearly two more years at Bethlehem, and no further notice was taken of him until the arrival of the Magi, the Wise Men from the East.

Trouble!  Matthew 2:3, “When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.”  These were no singing angels. They were mere men; notable men to be sure, but still mere men. The Magi were the Persian’s philosophers and their priests.  No one could become a Persian king who had not first been enrolled among the Magi. It was their royalty that caused the ruckus.  When kings arrive and ask the local king, “Where is the real KING?” Something has to give!

What are we to have in this time of great darkness?  Look again at the command from Hebrews: Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.”

“Where is He who is born King of the Jews?”  Their question made it clear that a new power was now freely working in the earth.  Moreover, this power operated as no other power had previously operated.  This power came and went as it pleased.  It raised the humble to be a force against the proud.  Love had taken on muscle and showed that a gentle but irresistible change was coming.  A new kingdom had come and it would expand through means that nullified human force.

Daniel told King Nebuchadnezzar 600 years before this day that this kingdom would come.  Daniel 2: 44, “And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.”

Break and consume: Here is the big picture!  The Kingdom of God is expanding. It grows by tactics and weapons that have no peer. It is breaking and consuming everything that opposes Christ.  The mustard seed that sprouted in the Bethlehem stable would grow until it absorbed every foe and fulfilled these words: “Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” -Revelation 11:15

Satan took the bait from Daniel’s prophecy!  Every other kingdom that Daniel referred to in his prophecy was set up by physical force. When he heard the words break and consume, the devil assumed that the Messiah would be a Jewish liberator like King David.  The devil never thought that a baby’s cry in a lowly manger was the real threat to his throne.

The regions of hell convulsed when it finally hit them that Messiah was now on earth. Evil now had an expiration date.  Intuitively, Herod felt this same dread.  As a puppet for Satan and Rome, what else could he feel?  Reason left him.  He knew he had no power over this, he knew that the Anointed One could not be stopped, yet he decided to commit a great atrocity by destroying the children of Bethlehem.

There it is! Great evil at work while at the same time the kingdom of God expands!  The Magi are led away from danger.  Joseph and Mary are warned to leave and use the treasure brought by the Magi to pay for their escape to Egypt.

You are receiving a Kingdom.  Never forget it!  Hebrews 12:28, “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.”

This is the one thing for you to remember.  God surgically injected the kingdom of God on earth; a kingdom which cannot be shaken by global warming or moral cooling!  You are inextricably connected to the story of Christmas.  It lives in you, it breathes in you, and it energizes, protects, and guides you.  It is the power of Christmas that exempts you from all of the tragic outcomes that you see around you.

Psalm 37:18-19, “The LORD knows the days of the upright, and their inheritance shall be forever. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time, and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.”

The best thing I ever heard about Christmas

What is the best thing I ever heard about Christmas, you ask?  How can anyone adequately answer that question?  The best music ever written was written for Christmas.  The finest art ever created pays homage to that holy night.

It has moved writers…or rather, it has seized them.  Billions of words have been dedicated to it.  When reason screams, “Don’t write anymore!” Christmas moves the foolhardy to try again and find some fresh meaning contained in the most often told story in history.

The power of Christmas turns children into righteous grownups.  Then it turns righteous grownups back into children.

A testament to its glory is the cosmic grudge Satan bears against Christmas.  He never leaves it alone.  He must commercialize it.  And, in one instance he grew so desperate to harm it that he used some misguided ministers to ban it in England, because they thought Christmas was carnal!  The London Times didn’t mention Christmas for 10 years!

Then in 1843, Charles Dickens wrote the story of Scrooge, and Christmas was back.  Here, is a passage from A Christmas Carol. It is one of the best descriptions of Christmas ever penned:

“But I am sure I have always thought of Christmas time, when it has come round — apart from the veneration due to its sacred name and origin, if anything belonging to it can be apart from thatas a good time: a kind, forgiving, charitable, pleasant time: the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely, and to think of people below them as if they really were fellow-passengers to the grave, and not another race of creatures bound on other journeys.”

However, no musician, no orator, and no artist, no writer (including Dickens), can touch the best thing I ever heard about Christmas.

The reason is that the words were forged in heaven by God Himself.  It was a note sent on ahead to explain what He meant by sending His Son to earth.

He tenderly crafted what should be said.  Then God did what every good writer must do—He made it concise.  He compressed an eternity of meaning into short, simple phrases.

Then he chose messengers whom He solemnly charged to speak these matchless words.  Relive with me that night when the best words ever spoken about Christmas were given to man.

Luke 2:8, “Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. 10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the sign to you: you will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:  14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!””

Christmas says, “Do not be afraid of the supernatural!”   The angels knew humans are terrified when they appear.  Note that they often preface their message with, “Fear not!” God wants us to know that it is a normal part of the life of the righteous to see signs and wonders.  Don’t be afraid of needing miracles.  Don’t be startled by the way God answers your prayers.

Don’t let the package fool you.  Don’t let the fierceness of evil discourage you.  The mission will not be thwarted.

Not only is the supernatural normal—it is good news!  When the Holy Spirit begins to move in a sedate church, the pastor should recognize that it is not an emotional thing, or a heretical thing, but a glorious thing!  It is a heavenly takeover that will impel the work of God forward.  Miracles are not a menace.  They are the perfect solution.

“This will be to all people.”  Christmas will not stop until it has achieved its goal. Nothing can stop the conquering march of the Son of God.  Don’t let the package fool you.  Don’t let the fierceness of evil discourage you.  The mission will not be thwarted.  The kingdom of this world will become the Kingdom of our God and of His Christ.  And He shall reign forever and ever!

“Christmas has never been convenient.  It never asks for an appointment.  It barges in and pulls you into the dance.  It grabs you by the soul and sets it to singing.”

This Holy Child is the perfect gift from God to you.  God has given you His best.  He has come because of your need.   Here is the absolute answer to mankind’s curse.  And this cure has no side effects!  This solution does not miss the mark.  It is for you, and it is from Someone Who knows everything about you.

Break out in Joy! Use joy as a weapon. Use joy for renewed strength.  Let joy do its job.  Don’t restrain joy because of the evil around you.  Release joy because of the evil around you!

Christmas has never been convenient.  It never asks for an appointment.  It barges in and pulls you into the dance.  It grabs you by the soul and sets it to singing.  It is not that you can’t fight Christmas…it’s that you shouldn’t!  And that is the best thing I ever heard about Christmas.   Merry Christmas!

THIS WILL KILL YOUR FEAR

Today you find yourself facing threats that were unimaginable just 10 years ago.  Changes are dizzying. Political and moral evil is on the march. The child of God navigates a world that is explosive.

Do you have children and grandchildren who depend on you?  That makes it all the more difficult. You wonder what will happen to them.  You pray, “Lord, how can I protect them in such a violent time?”

Our souls are vexed by the parading of evil, perversion, and bloodshed. What was once in the back alleys is now front and center for all to see.

For this and many other reasons, we need something fresh and unshakable.  We need whatever it was Daniel had in the lion’s den.  We need authority to open prison doors.  We need courage that conquers the future even before we get there.  We must walk a walk that conquers sickness, dwindling resources, and any sudden attack on our soul.

We also need to see the tactics of Satan. He knows his time is short, he is racing to take as many down with him as he can.

Powerful preaching will only take us so far.  Worship music may quell dismaying emotions temporarily, but we need something more—something unshakable in the core of our being.  We need an anchor that holds us, no matter what.

What do we need? What fear-killing insight should burn in our soul?

It’s this: Imagine if you could hear Jesus praying for you. Imagine what that would mean to you. Imagine how that can kill your fear of any shocking attacks that come?  Imagine being transported in a vision, and beholding Jesus mentioning your name. Imagine hearing Him taking your needs, your burdens, and your cares directly to the Father.

Stop right now.  Open your heart wide. Let me give you the fear-killing facts about  Jesus praying for you:

Jesus started praying for you the instant you got saved.  The world can’t enjoy the benefit of His prayers, but we as believers can.  John17:9, “I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours.”

Jesus will never stop praying for you. Hebrews 7:25, “Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.”

Can you see Him? Right now He is lifting your situation before the Father in unending prayer.

Jesus is asking the Father to protect you from Satan.  John 17:15, “I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.”

Jesus has prayed in advance of your greatest hour of testing, just as He did for Peter.  Luke 22:32, “But I have prayed for you (Peter), that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”

Here is the most important fact about Jesus’ praying for you: He says you are His child.  Let’s take a closer look at what that means.

His love for you is not just tender—it’s fierce.

Consider the momma grizzly as she snuggles her cub.  She is the essence of tender love.  Now, try to come between her and her cub. The loving mom instantly becomes the most terrifying creature on earth.  She will stop at nothing to protect her cub. Both are expressions of the same love…a love God but in her.

The same Jesus who comforts you with unmatched tenderness turns His wrath on the evil one when you are threatened.  It would be breathtaking to see the contrast in His intercession before the Father when you need comfort, and when you need to be rescued from the attack of the evil one.

Jesus will not let anything come between you and Him.  Paul said it this way: Romans 8:38, “For I am fully convinced that neither death nor life, nor angels nor demons, nor the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

If you could hear how Jesus is praying for you right now, you would not fear a million enemies.

PETER THE DAY AFTER

Peter failed in spectacular fashion.  He bragged he would stand with Jesus even if everyone else fled.  He fell asleep in the Garden.  He assaulted the servant of the High Priest.  Though he was warned about it in advance, he went ahead and denied Christ three times.
Here’s a question to everyone who has ever failed: Why did Jesus put the man’s severed ear back on?  (Luke 22:51). We know Peter had taken a sword and had cut it off.  We know why.  We can also guess that Jesus healed Malchus’ ear out of compassion.  But there is something way deeper going on here. What does that have to do with anyone who ever failed?  Everything.
The day after Jesus died wouldn’t have hurt Peter so much if Peter didn’t love Jesus so much.  That he had abandoned Christ began to torment him.  It could have devastated him for the rest of his life.   But right at this point, he doesn’t believe there is a rest of his life.
The day after Jesus died is Peter’s day to hide like a hunted animal.  A day to let it sink in that there is nothing left to live for.  He was a hair’s breadth away from the fate of Judas Iscariot.  Worst of all, he lost his destiny.
Destiny is a mysterious thing.  The same force that can inspire a man to greatness can—in his failure—torture him.  The pain level depends on the size of the destiny.  In the case of Peter, it was massive.
Peter was minding his own business when Jesus interrupted his whole life.  Fishing all night, Peter had caught nothing.   His hands are red and sore from handling the heavy nets.  Every muscle aches. He has nothing to show for a brutal night at sea.
The strange Teacher says, “Let your nets down again for a catch.”  Peter halfheartedly does as he is asked.  The enormous catch terrifies him.  He begs Jesus to keep his distance, “I am a sinful man.”

That’s when he heard the words about his destiny.  “Follow Me and I will make you a fisher of men.”  Then, once more, the day after Jesus has died, Peter is just a fisherman again.  It sticks in his throat to say it.
They say that regret is the cancer of life—if so, on this terrible day, Peter is terminal.  He could have prayed Psalm 69: 1 “Save me, O God! For the waters have come up to my neck. 2 I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing; I have come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. 3 I am weary with my crying; my throat is dry; my eyes fail while I wait for my God. Those who hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head; they are mighty who would destroy me…”
“I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing” simply means that in the quicksand of despair, nothing that used to help you snap out of it works now.  All of your comfort is gone. There is nothing to grab to save you. You will sink until you vanish.
Now it’s dawn on Sunday.  Peter can’t know that at that moment, an angel is talking about him.  Mark 16:  7 “But go, tell His disciples—and Peter—that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.”  The angel added the words “and Peter.”  Why?  Because God knew Peter would have disqualified himself if the invitation was “for disciples only.” Wouldn’t you love to have seen Peter’s face when they told him the angel’s message?
So why did Jesus put the ear back on?  He knew Peter’s destiny, and Peter couldn’t be in prison on the day of Pentecost.  Jesus knew his destiny. He knows yours.

How we will win souls in 2019

We have regrouped and reloaded, and we are ready to win the lost, heal the sick, and set the captive free. The tent, chairs, lights generators, stage and sound are all packed up and ready to go. It will only be days now before we announce the places and dates where we will be invading the darkness in 2019.
Satan demonstrated how much he fears our soul winning. He attacked us every way he could in 2018. He tried to stop us dead in our tracks. But all he did was set himself up for a holy backlash! This only deepened our resolve to win souls in record numbers!
Many people who hate God are cheering on the anger dividing our nation. They also want to manipulate every word of the Gospel of Christ to make it sound bigoted, so then they can ban it. Jesus said this would happen.
Luke 21:12 “But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake. 13 But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony.14 Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer; 15 for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist.”
When we pray together as a couple, we have found that our agreement has great power. (See Matthew 18:19-20) Through prayer, we made the choice not to be frightened by the end times and the screaming threats of radicals.  We see that the very same verses that warn of persecution also contain powerful promises.

The first promise is, “But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony.” Everything Satan is trying to do to America will be forced into an opportunity to testify—it will open doors for people to hear the life-giving message of Jesus.
Did you know this promise happened to Paul? When he was imprisoned, he found a big surprise. His arrest actually advanced the Gospel. He said, “But I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel.” -Philippians 1:12
The Message translation says it this way: “I want to report to you, friends, that my imprisonment here has had the opposite of its intended effect. Instead of being squelched, the Message has actually prospered.
That is what we believe about 2019! The devil’s attacks on America will have the opposite effect that God haters expect.
But the second promise excites us even more. You see, the youth culture is complicated and toxic. They’ve been told so many lies that they are triggered by the church’s efforts to reach them. But God is greater!
He has promised us powerful rhema words that will pierce hearts; and He has promised many miracles in the tent. This explosive combination will do what Jesus promised: it will leave a skeptical audience unable to resist and vulnerable to surrendering to Christ.
The ultimate source of our excitement is that God has promised us it is not too late for America. That promise drives us like no other. It is why we are working tirelessly to get ready for a supernatural harvest.
It is true that much evil is spreading but God fiercely loves America and He will fight for her!  More than ever we ask for your prayers! We need to be bold, wise and full of the love of Jesus. Stay tuned for more detailed and exciting news in the coming days! We love you!

HAS GOD CHOSEN YOU?

Maybe you can see that something radical needs to happen. May you see how Satan has sold so many believers fool’s gold.  Instead of taking up weapons mighty to the tearing down of strongholds, they pursue money, cheap grace, and safe spaces.

Maybe you can see how shallow, flattering, teaching is the perfect greenhouse gas.  It’s fumes dull reality. It kills natural urgency.  Taking a stand has become a distant fantasy to many…but what about you?

You see how faith has grown flabby.  You can bear to see how many don’t know our weapons.  They don’t know our authority.  They have no marching orders.  They don’t know what to say to this generation.  Most of all, you feel a deep urgency and you are shocked at how ignorant so many are about what is right around the corner.

Peter recognized when government crossed the line.  Acts 4: 19 But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges! 20 As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

He also understood what to do when government tries to ban the Gospel: “Acts 5: 28 saying, “Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man’s blood on us!” 29 But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men.”

They are coming after our freedom.  They will force feed our children the Antichrist agenda. That is…unless we wake up to our purpose and destiny.   I am calling you out for special power in this hour. However, we are to be alert not alarmed. Let the dire consequences light a fire in your soul! Is God selecting you to give a weapons grade faith and boldness?

If you are finally ready, then do these things:

1. You must be filled or refilled with the Holy Spirit.  You must have fire, or you must have fresh fire.   The courage to face the onslaught of hatred that will be thrown at you can never be met by human power.  To say what you need to say, to obey when you need to obey can’t come from human motivation.  You must have the same Spirit that fueled world-changing saints in all times. God never meant for anyone to preach or lead without a clear baptism of the Holy Spirit.

2. You must flow in signs and wonders.  Our culture is beyond words.  They must see proof of the power of God.  God means for you to provide that proof.  The authority you need won’t come cheaply or instantly.  (Read my blog on the price of God’s miracle working power https://wp.me/p1vrzp-53e

3. Get ready to do something for God that will boggle your mind.  God is selecting people and working in them for unmatched power to attack evil.  Habakkuk 1: 5 “Look among the nations and watch—Be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days Which you would not believe, though it were told you.”

He is creating people who can turn the tide of wickedness.  He doesn’t care about your age or your education.  He searches for someone who is travailing over the evil and will die without power and purpose.  They want to be in the fight—they want to be in the thick of it.  Isaiah 6: 8 says, “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”

4. Prepare to pray in a way you never imagined.  God is pulling you out of the damaged religious crowd into special intimacy with him.  You are not going to pray like before.  E.M Bounds said, “To say prayers in a decent, delicate way is not heavy work. But to pray really, to pray till hell feels the ponderous stroke, to pray till the iron gates of difficulty are opened, till the mountains of obstacles are removed, till the mists are exhaled and the clouds are lifted, and the sunshine of a cloudless day brightens-this is hard work, but it is God’s work, and man’s best labor.”

What do all of these things I am asking you to do have in common?  Every one of them involves a leap out of dead religion.  They are a courageous declaration of war on the godless ideologies that are destroying our nation.  They are an irrevocable decision to be in the middle of God’s greatest acts in history.

WE DON’T START TILL SUNDAY AT 6 PM!

God has already started.  Never have I seen a meeting with this level of anticipation.  The wisdom of the location was utterly confirmed today. “What is this?”  Again, and again we got that question from passersby.  After Joshua Olmos answered one man, he said, I run a recovery home just blocks from here.  I am going to bring everyone in the home to this tent.”

Meanwhile our ringing phones tell another part of the story.  People are braving great distances to be at this meeting—flying in from thousands of miles away—believing for a miracle.

Univision and Spanish radio carry the message of this tent meeting to the Hispanic community.   Pastor Cesar Minera has thrown his considerable influence in the city behind Living Proof Reno.

THE CREW FROM INNER CITY ACTION STOCKTON LAYS OUT THE FLOOR.

This Sunday Morning, the powerful congregation at Spirit Filled Church with Pastor Roger Canary will let me deliver the final marching orders to the army of God.

Is this my last chance to invite you?  Our Living Proof tent crusade starts this Sunday September 23rd at 6PM and then 7PM Monday through Friday September 28th.   Are we expecting many to be saved and healed?  You better believe it!

But here’s the most urgent part of my message to you: Three things will decide the magnitude of this meeting:

1.Prayer: God has chosen to work when we ask. This is the foundation for everything.

2. The personal invitation: Technology has changed but one thing remains constant…people come because you bring them.

3. Overcoming the myth of distance. I want to spend a extra time on this one. People carried their sick loved ones for days to get to Jesus.  They still do in underdeveloped countries.  Do you live near Reno? I mean within 150 miles.  What is 150 miles in a car when there is the possibility of a miracle?

Mark 6: 55 says, “they ran through that whole surrounding region and began to carry about on beds those who were sick to wherever they heard He was.” That last phrase says it all!

Under the tent, there will be wonderful music, powerful messages and surprises.  But, the greatest reason to bring people is because we know Jesus will be there.

P.S. All seats are free.  Remember, we’ll start at 6 PM on Sunday and at 7 PM Monday-Friday.  Let’s us pray for those you are bringing for healing or deliverance.  Call us at 775 238 3473   MM
