Why Liberals want to ban anyone who disagrees with them

If you’re a conservative, you don’t need to silence the opposition. In fact, we conservatives want liberals to talk, to make buffoons of themselves, to prove their folly. We want liberals to expound upon their ridiculous ideas, to show the world exactly what they’re about. Nancy Pelosi? Give that tiresome woman a microphone. Chatty liberals are the best advertisement for conservatism.

Failing Liberals Turn To Oppression To Hold On To Power

Kurt Schlichter

But liberals just can’t have conservatives speaking. We’ll tell the truth, and that’s why liberals need to shut us up.

Their traditional intimidation tactics are wearing out. Calling someone a “racist” used to be a devastating moral indictment. Liberals’ promiscuous employment of the word first turned it into a cliché and then into an ironic punchline.

I know, saying that out loud is racist. And sexist. And cisgender heteronormative, whatever the h— that means.

So now liberals have stepped up to formal governmental repression. Take the IRS scandal – or ex-scandal, in the eyes of the mainstream media. The Obama administration, at the urging of red state Democrat senators who are about to lose their seats because of their track records of failure, are doing everything they can to turn the taxman loose on the organizations that are pointing out their track records of failure.

Sure, the liberals come up with excuses, with justifications, with rationales for this prima facie oppression. But understand that the left was never against political repression. The left is only against being repressed itself.

It’s open season on everyone else. Don’t dare bow down to god whose name isn’t spelled “G – O – V – E – R – N – M – E – N – T.” Today’s heretic hunters work for Kathleen Sebelius, ready to burn you at the stake for expecting grown men and women to come up with the dough for their own contraceptives. No one expects the HHS Inquisition!

The Federal Communications Commission just floated a trial balloon about going out to radio and television stations to evaluate reporters on how they cover the news. There was a time when journalists’ response to a government inquiry into how they did their job would be “Go to h—, you goose-stepping bureaucratic flunky.”

Not anymore. Now, their response is slavish submission to their progressive governmental dominatrix. When supposedly independent, iconoclastic liberal journalists let themselves to be dominated by the feds, their safeword is “Hillary.”

Liberalism has to muzzle the truth because it operates on lies. It is built on lies, fueled by lies, and creates an empire of lies.

Look at the Obamacare scam. Liberals don’t even blink at the fact that its foundational premise that if you liked your health care, you could keep it was a lie. They’re not even offended by the lie. They’re offended that we point out that it was a lie.

Now the same people who got us into this mess are telling us we should go along and trust them to fix the same d— problem that they created in the first place. Liberals are the Lucys of American politics, holding the football and promising that this time it’ll be different. We need to stop being the Charlie Browns.

In the Senate, liberals toss traditions like the filibuster out the window for political expediency. The president creates his own laws or changes ones that are already in place on a whim. There are no norms, there are no standards. Everything is a short-term political gambit, and little things like the Constitution are just obstacles to progress.

How does all this end well? It doesn’t. It can’t. That is, unless the American people come to their senses and demand that the Constitution, as it is written, be respected. That change come through the political process, through persuasion rather than diktat.

But if that doesn’t happen, what then? What becomes of our system? How do we act when we take power again? Should we also ignore those same principles that we seek to reaffirm in order to reaffirm them?

Does the next Republican president simply announce that he’s repealing Obamacare by executive order? Does he simply refuse to implement other laws we dislike? Does he refuse to collect foolish taxes? Does he use his prosecutorial discretion to decide to refuse to prosecute his allies? Is that what we want?

No, it is not what we want, but it may be what we get. We are not ones for unilateral disarmament. Our constitutional system is not a suicide pact, as many have observed. The liberals aren’t going to like it when we apply the same ruthlessness to them.

If the rules of the game are now that there are no rules, then the only political currency is raw power. But we know what happens when there are no rules, where pure power is the sole measure of right and wrong. I served in countries like that. They are full of mass graves

The American system’s strength is not that everyone always wins. It is that the system cultivates our ability to lose gracefully, to understand that you were heard, that you had your say, that there was a process, and that you lost fair and square. It sustains itself by reinforcing its own legitimacy.

But if your losses aren’t fair, if you haven’t been heard, if the rules have been bent or broken or ignored, that crucial legitimacy is gone.  And then there are no rules to respect.

What keeps this grand experiment in freedom going is that we honored, at least until now, our Constitution’s boundaries. Sure, we pushed at the edges, nudged the envelope, sometimes fudged the line, but what is happening now is different. What’s happening now is that the line is being erased.

RUDY…RUDY…RUDY!

By Mario Murillo

Part one:  Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

Rudy Giuliani said that Obama does not love America.  Then the firestorm began.   Press secretary Josh Earnest said “I can tell you that it’s sad to see when somebody who has attained a certain stature and even admiration tarnishes that legacy so thoroughly.”

Who is tarnishing their legacy Josh?  You are Obama’s press secretary which right now is the American equivalent of Baghdad Bob.

No one can escape that fact that Obama does not love America.   No one put it better than Pastor Robert Jeffress.  He quoted Obama:  “I want to fundamentally change America.”   Jeffress said “can you imagine a man saying to his fiancée “I want to fundamentally change you”?

Josh and his ilk are yanking that moment out of the Wizard of OZ saying to all of America “Do not arouse the wrath of the great and powerful OZ and then says “pay no that man behind the curtain.”

We are not supposed to look at the man behind the Hope and Change curtain?   Do not arouse the wrath of the man of smoke, mirrors, hollow promises and deception on a scale never seen before?

We are supposed to believe he loves America.  We are supposed to be vilified if we say he doesn’t?   No one has said louder and clearer than Obama himself.  His contempt for Christians, Jews, Conservatives, and anyone else who opposes him is well documented.

Part two: Nobody said it better than Dorothy…”if you were really great and powerful, you would keep your promises.”

He never got you the job he promised.  He never brought the Arab spring he promised.  He never defended and protected the Constitution like he promised.  He never made our allies loves us as he promised.  He never did anything he promised except to “fundamentally change America” into a weaker and more divided nation than when he took office.

Obama loves us?  He spies on those he loves?  He uses the IRS as an attack dog on those he loves?   He goes to bed instead of saving those in Benghazi he loves?   He relentlessly refuses to protect us from our enemies because he loves us?   He refuses to admit that there is a war against us because he loves us?

Part three:  I was spontaneously chanting Rudy, Rudy, Rudy!   I have zero concern for Rudy Giuliani’s legacy.  His true love for the City of New York cannot be questioned.  The heroic way he held that city together after 911 will resound in history.

He applied the same matter of fact courage in stating the obvious about this president.   Not only did he state the obvious, he was kinder and gentler than he could have been.  Rudy was well within the mark.  He tapped the nail on the head.  He understated the single most glaring fact about this president.   The question is not “does Obama love America”, the real question is “how much does actually he hate it?”

Now watch this amazing video of Rudy Giuliani

THE WIMPINESS OF MODERN MINISTERS

By Mario Murillo

Dear Ministers of America,

Two forces have collided within me to cause this blog.  The first is the true lions of God that I have studied in the last two weeks: David Wilkerson, Kenneth Hagin, Steve Hill, Oral Roberts, Kathryn Kuhlman, and Billy Graham.   The second is the unbearable line that Obama has now crossed

I want to make it clear that this is not directed at the many faithful men and women who preach a true Gospel and work hard to hold congregations together in the face of government and cultural persecution.  You are my heroes and I stand with you in the battle!

We have watched Obama run guns to Mexican drug cartels, expose Seal Team 6, refuse to save Americans in Benghazi and then cover it up, block the military from getting their votes counted, use the NSA to monitor our phone calls, emails and everything else, release drones into our own country without the benefit of the law, give 123 Technologies $300 Million and right after it declared bankruptcy and was sold to the Chinese, arm the Muslim Brotherhood, use the IRS to target conservatives and Christians, allow the Department Of Justice to spy on the press, authorize Sebelius to shake down health insurance executives, give SOLYNDRA $500 MILLION DOLLARS and 3 months later they declared bankruptcy and then the Chinese bought it, release10,000 illegal immigrants from jails and prisons, and falsely blaming the sequester,  threatened to impose gun control by Executive Order in order to bypass Congress, repeatedly violate the law requiring him to submit a budget no later than the first Monday in February,  had a 2012 vote where 115% of all registered voters in some counties voted 100% for Obama.

firsrt amendment copyAnd finally at the prayer breakfast he said these words, “And lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ.”

Jim Gilmore former governor of Virginia said “The president’s comments this morning at the prayer breakfast are the most offensive I’ve ever heard a president make in my lifetime; He has offended every believing Christian in the United States.”

Then 21 Coptic Christians were beheaded and he cannot bring himself to call them Christians but He immediately calls the 3 students who were murdered in North Carolina Muslims.

As America and the world faces the greatest threat since Nazism, Obama refuses to name it the threat for what it is… Islamic Terror, and he has no plan to protect us from it.   More to the point, Obama will not act to save Christians who are being murdered every day. He sanitizes Islam and attacks Christians is a way that is now pathologically delusional.

There is no longer any doubt what American preachers must do about Obama. Many will refuse to do what needs to be done and I am going to suggest, very strongly that they are wimps.

However, if it is any consolation, I am not going to use the names that Jesus did in the Bible for preachers who abandon their duties:  Blind guides (Matt. 23:16) Fools (Matt. 23:17). Whited sepulchers…full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness (Matt. 23:27) Serpents (Matt. 23:33). Vipers (Matt. 23:33). Hypocrites! (Luke 11:44).  and  Hidden graves (Luke 11:44)…

I am just going to call you a wimp.

Christian witness protection copy

What we must do is get in our pulpits and rebuke Obama for his insulting remarks and acts toward Christians.  He must be repudiated by consensus for his Christophobic, and Anti-Semitic actions.  We must tell our people to openly oppose the Godless America he is building.

The church must rise up as one voice and declare that enough is enough and that we will not tolerate Obama’s persecution of the church in America or anywhere in the world.

According to statistics there are 500,000 preachers in America.  Imagine if half a million voices stand together to rebuke and oppose this wannabe tyrant and his anti-Church and anti-American agenda?

There is no doubt we should do it.  There is no version of what is happening today that justifies silence.   But will we do it or continue to endanger our sheep by being wimps?  What do you say?

In direct response to a threatening letter let me tell you who to vote for on Tuesday November 4th

direct threat copy

In direct response to a threatening letter let me tell you who to vote for on Tuesday November 4th

The midterm elections are a matter of life and death and the Church must not be cowed out of her power to vote by illegal covenants.

It was a dark day for the Church when the 501C3 clause was created.  It is anti-God, anti-American and anti-free speech.  In the 1950s, then Senator Lyndon Johnson did not like the way churches were talking about him, so he finagled a way to silence them by attaching this censorship of the church to a preexisting bill.  Henceforth any church that wanted Government recognition as a nonprofit Corporation had to agree not to say anything political from the pulpit.

The fact is that the Constitution already recognized the church.  No further recognition was necessary.  The church made a stupid deal with the devil.

I am prepared to confront it head on!   So let me tell you who to vote for.

I have only tepid feelings toward the Republican Party.  The established leadership abandoned its Reagan conservative roots for a wishy washy vision.  They do not have enough ideas on how to fix our nation.  That said, right now they are in my opinion our only choice.

The Democratic Party has declared open war on Christianity, American exceptionalism, marriage, the unborn and Israel.  Whatever doubt you may have about this should have been erased at the Democratic National Convention when the convention booed the idea of even inserting the word “God” into their platform.dictatorship blog inert

Obama has abused power again and again.  They abused the parliamentary tactic known as reconciliation to force Obamacare down our throats.  They did not even know what was in the bill or what it would do to the people.  As Nancy Pelosi said so well “We are going to pass it and then we are going to read it”   Never in history has a bill that was so sweeping (controlling one eighth of the entire economy) ever passed with all votes from one party.

Today we live in terror of Islamic extremists  because Democratic Senators lived in terror of Obama.   They will not openly oppose even the most insane behavior ever to come out of the White (Benghazi).  They presided over the dismantling of our economy, marriage and freedom of religion.  They never stood up to him and his rogue government.  As a matter of fact, they offered up the most exasperating excuses and explanations for what is undoubtedly the worse train wreck of presidency we have ever known.

Now they want your vote anyway.  Now they are implying they are not like him.   Yet, they will still enforce Obama’s policies long after he is gone.   For this reason alone they need to go or we will have no chance at all to undo the damage of Obama.

The 2014 midterms have all of the earmarks of a last chance for our nation.  The democrats have help make our world dangerous, atheistic, immoral and miserable.   This is true whether you are black, white Latino or Asian.

How ironic that at this moment Obama may be the only Democrat who is telling the truth about November 4th.  Every democrat running for office says this is not about Obama and now twice Obama has said that this election is indeed about him!

Right now, you Democratic candidates are running from Obama more than you are running for office.   But you can’t run.  You own your voting record and you own the wreckage of Obama.

Who should you vote for?  Go to the polls armed with only one fact in mind…did the candidate vote for Obama?  If they did then they need to go!

What about the lukewarm Republicans?  Yeah, well I want to give them a chance to lead…not by acclamation but by default.

Benghazi Massacre Blog copy

That is one more reason we need to display outrage in these midterms:  Let the Republicans feel the power of national outrage and keep your outrage handy so that the republicans will know we can fire them just as easily as Democrats.

Thomas Jefferson said it best “When the people fear the government you have tyranny but when the government fears the people you have liberty.”

Mario aren’t you afraid that your ministry will be attacked?  If it is attacked it will be because I am standing on the Word of God and the Constitution of the United States.  I cannot think of a better place to stand.

Media Cover Shutdown Victims over Obamacare Victims 100 to 1

Media Cover Shutdown Victims over Obamacare Victims 100 to 1

“Real consequences for real people.”

10.17.2013

Since October 1, when the government shutdown began, the media have run dozens upon dozens of stories about victims of the shutdown. Over the same period of time, the media have run virtually no stories about businesses suffering thanks to Obamacare, low-income people victimized by the new Obamacare tax, and economic chaos thanks to the impact of Obamacare. That’s particularly ridiculous given that with the furloughed federal workers soon to be back at their desks and paid for their furloughed time, the number of people seriously hurt by the government shutdown is minute, as opposed to the widespread damage from Obamacare.

The Washington Post was a key offender in its bias. Between October 1 and October 16, the Washington Post website published over 220 stories both from its own writers and the wires focusing on the supposedly horrible effects of the government shutdown. Most obviously, the Post ran a story declaring, simply, “Government shutdown generates stories of misery around the country.” But when it came to the implementation of Obamacare, though the Post ran more than 80 stories, many of them on failures of the Obamacare website, it apparently ran a grand total of 3 that focused mainly on the individuals and small businesses victimized by Obamacare itself.

The three articles openly criticizing Obamacare by focusing on victims included one about aveterinarian paying more for equipment thanks to the medical device tax, one about a local utility saying that coverage would be dropped, and one quoting a “Rush Limbaugh fan.” That was it.

There were a few occasional pieces pointing out structural flaws in Obamacare (generally the call from the Post was to rectify those flaws by extending more federal dollars), but those were few and far between. There were several op-eds against Obamacare, but thePost ran more pieces about the potential glories of Obamacare: “The myth about job-killing Obamacare,” “Obamacare saved my family from financial ruin,” a piece about a person happy to sit for hours at the failed Obamacare website to purchase insurance, young people looking forward to the exchanges, and op-eds proclaiming that the American people aredying for Obamacare.

The forty or so articles about the Obamacare rollout were generally negative – that is, except for the fact that the rollout was largely faulty, according to multiple articles in thePostthanks to overdemand, and once fixed, buying Obamacare would be “pretty easy!” And, hey, in the end, “Google will make you immortal (and Obamacare will pay for it),” thePost reported. As for small business concerns, those were based on myths.

The Post was not nearly as sanguine about the shutdown. The Post made sure to cover that alleged misery in gory detail. There were dozens of stories lamenting the fate offurloughed federal workersThey came in all shapes and sizes, including stories about

The most amusing piece was certainly one from spouses of federal workers asking for the government to take them back to get them out of the house (“Take them back – please!”).

There were myriad generalized stories about how the shutdown would inevitably doom the American economy. The economy of Washington D.C. came in for heavy coveragesmall business, too, was said to be on the rocks thanks to the shutdown (including auto sales, crab fishermenpawn shopsSilicon Valley start-upscraft brewers, and food trucks). Ford’s Theater took it on the chin. National parks closedContractors were suddenly victims, as opposed to the more usual representatives of the military industrial complex. Education fell victim to the shutdown. So, of course, did veterans and tourists. Even lottery winners had to wait for their winnings, the Post reported. The White House’s magical organic garden, too, became a victim of the shutdown (“Weeds have sprouted. Sweet potatoes are unpicked,” the Post lamented). Museums closed. Children couldn’t go to the Zoo. The weather was even affected. But, the Post reported, the stink bug remained at the mercy of the neutered federal government.

There were several pictorial depictions of the utter misery of the American population over the government shutdown. There were old people being screwed out of their Social Security; investigations into plane accidents and the deaths of civil rights leaders being abandoned;court cases going unprocessed; operas going unsungYouth lacrosse faced the chopping block, as did some charitiesCancer patients faced death thanks to the shutdown, reported the PostWeddings faced location changes.

Just in case readers didn’t get the point, the Post ran explanatory articles illustrating “8 immoral ways the government shutdown is hurting the needy,” “15 ways the Federal shutdown is hampering the National Weather Service,” “Nine ways the shutdown is only going to get worse,” “10 ways the shutdown is dangerous,” “Nine painful effects of a shutdown,” “10 ways the shutdown will affect your daily life,” and “The government shutdown – in 9 images.” There were how-to articles on what to do with free time during the shutdownfeeding your family during a furloughhooking up on Craigslist during a shutdown, and, of course, shutdown shopping.

There were personal accounts of losing Head Start and being furloughed and moving from the White House to bartending; the government shutdown was “told in food”; somehow, even a frozen eagle became the subject of a shutdown story.

So, how did The New York Times stack up in its coverage of victims of the government shutdown versus victims of Obamacare? It ran well over 80 stories about victims of the government shutdown, ranging from general takes on the economic situation to lamentations about a new FEMA employee losing her job; from automakers taking a hit to Native Americans suffering; from foreign policy to restaurants; from a Tyrannosaurus Rex not entering a museum to furloughed employees having shutdown parties.

The Times ran zero stories about those negatively affected by Obamacare itself. It ran a story on old people being confused by the Obamacare exchanges; it ran several stories on its technological drawbacks; it ran a few stories on drafting errors (to be expected, and generally correctible, said the Times). But the Times ran a slew of Paul Krugman odes to Obamacare, several pieces talking about how small business benefitted from Obamacare, or at least had little impact on jobs.

The story was the same on television. From October 1 to October 15, ABC World Newswith Diane Sawyer spent approximately 21 minutes over the course of eight broadcasts covering stories of the shutdown and its effects on victims. Over the course of the same period, ABC News covered Obamacare twice, and then only to point out website difficulties quickly but praise Obamacare overall. On October 1, for example, a reporter stated, “When Vanessa previously shopped around for her family of four, she was quoted $2,000 a month. Today she found a plan for just $427!” That same night, ABC News quoted different Americans complaining about the shutdown: “I live from paycheck to paycheck unfortunately.” “These are real people’s lives being affected and ruined.” “I’m getting tired of feeling like a ping-pong ball.”

There were no stories of victims of Obamacare in that entire period.

Brian Williams’ NBC Nightly News was no better. From October 1 to October 16, the program spent over 30 minutes discussing victims of the government shutdown. Victims included a former Navy diver (“if it wasn’t for the check, we’d lose everything”), furloughed federal workers (“yeah, that will put us behind, it will put us very behind as far as trying to catch up with bills”), and local restaurant workers near federal centers (“it was rough, last week was rough, I had a day where I made like $9 total”). All Obamacare coverage was relegated to discussion of website glitches, but no actual victims of Obamacare were shown (all victims were people in need of healthcare whom Obamacare would help once the glitches were ironed out).

How about CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley? Aside from segments about the Obamacare glitches (which, again, underscored the idea that people need Obamacare but were having trouble obtaining it, and took about nine minutes of total airtime), there were no stories about victims of Obamacare. There was a two minute segment about evil Republican governors who hadn’t expanded Medicaid under Obamacare, however.

CBS rolled out approximately 27 minutes worth of stories on government shutdown victims, including frustrated federal workers complaining about not being paid, lack of military death benefits (“New casualties of this battle, the families of Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice”), and even the owner of a Joshua Tree store suffering from the parks shutdown (“closing the parks now would be like closing the malls at Christmas”).

“Real consequences for real people,” intoned anchor Pelley on October 7.

Overall, the Washington Post and New York Times covered victims of the government shutdown over victims of Obamacare by a margin of 100 to 1; ABC, NBC, and CBS News all covered victims of the government shutdown over victims of Obamacare by a margin of over 78 minutes to zero.

Jeremy Boreing, Paul Bois, and Yehuda Remer contributed to this piece.

Shhh. The president is sleeping

Shhh. The president is sleeping

By Keith Koffler
JANUARY 31, 2014

President Barack Obama is out of gas. Pooped out. Gone fishing. Or rather, golfing. He’s just not that into it anymore. The republic is safe from any further vast left-wing legislative prescriptions for our ills.

But Obama’s increasing job fatigue is, paradoxically, cause for serious concern. While he sits back, aides in the White House and in the agencies are busy enacting a stealth agenda of rules and regulations. And on the world stage, Washington’s withdrawal threatens national security.

The president on display at Tuesday’s State of the Union is one who has shrunk from the pretension of becoming a president on the order of Ronald Reagan or Franklin Roosevelt into the purveyor of a list of puny policies that tinker at the margins.

Instead of offering “fundamental change” and inspirational hope, Obama made increasing the minimum wage for federal contractors the centerpiece of this year’s address. The increasingly disinterested president even had trouble pronouncing the name of his other “big idea,” a limited savings vehicle the White House is calling a “MyRA.”

Major issues like debt, deficit and entitlements? Fuhgetaboutit, way too much bother.

Obama had entirely unremarkable tenures in both the Illinois and the U.S. Senate, angling almost immediately after entering each to move up. But now he has the same problem as lots of working stiffs. After five years in the same job, the thrill is gone — and the grunt work is to be avoided.

It’s not the State of the Union, but Obama’s recent golf excursion to Hawaii, that may serve as the template for the president’s proclaimed 2014 “year of action.”

Obama played nine times during his 15-day vacation. What’s more, in a not insignificant indication of where his mind is at, he golfed 46 times in 2013 — easily an annual record for him as president and more than twice the 19 times he went out in 2012, when there was the serious work of getting reelected to be done.

You will likely search in vain for a world leader who accomplished significant things in the same year he or she went golfing nearly four dozen times.

For some perspective, President George W. Bush, who was known as a golfer, played only 24 times in more than two and a half years as president before stopping in October 2003, because he felt it wasn’t appropriate to play during wartime, according to White House chronicler Mark Knoller of CBS News.

Obama and his advisers grieve to a sympathetic press that Republicans are to blame for the impasse in Congress. This even as “moderate Democrat” has become an oxymoron and the president touts his crowning left-wing achievement, Obamacare, which he jammed through Congress without convincing a single Republican — they can’t all be right-wing “extremists” — to vote for it.

A republic is intended to be a fractious form of government. Successful legislators, like Reagan and Bill Clinton, knew how to hold their own party’s ranks while picking off enough of the opposition to pass laws.

Obama was never particularly interested in building the relationships needed to curry favor, call in chits and twist arms. But now, he’s finished even pretending.

He’s not going through any halfhearted motions — like he did last year, when he took some Republicans to dinner in a widely celebrated “reaching out” offensive that ended almost immediately after it started. It’s not clear who Obama’s close friends are on Capitol Hill now, or if he even has any — on either side of the aisle.

As if to highlight the point, Obama recently brought back to the White House his former liaison to Congress, Phil Schiliro. But Schiliro won’t be trying to pass new legislation. He’ll be working onimplementing the Affordable Care Act and beating back Republican attempts to undermine it.

Republicans are interpreting Obama’s vow to step up his use of executive orders as a play by a leftist president to undemocratically expand his power and unilaterally make policies he sees as inarguably enlightened. And they’re right.

But it’s also the default position of a tired president who would rather have his aides come up with a policy than grind out something more important and far-reaching on Capitol Hill.

So the hired help will do the work. An ever-vigorous John Podesta was brought in for at least a year, to see exactly how much legislation can be passed by the executive branch alone.

Podesta is the perfect person for this job. As a former White House chief of staff for Clinton, heknows how to move both the White House and the agencies. He also created the Center for American Progress, a politically astute left-wing think tank that can serve up endless helpings of ideas for regulatory action.

But Obama’s effeteness is even less reassuring when it comes to foreign policy — where benign neglect can look like a dangerous abdication of duty.

After failing to negotiate a U.S. military presence in Iraq, where al Qaeda is now snatching up real estate, Obama may be on course to do the same — or nearly the same — in Afghanistan.

Having avoided seriously taking a side in Syria, Obama has now ceded diplomatic ground there to the Russians and allowed the festering battleground to become a new magnet and training ground for jihadists of several stripes.

Most frightening is the possibility that Obama’s self-disengagement will lead to an Iranian nuclear weapon.

Few have faith that Obama has the stomach for a war with Iran. He’s already dropped a longstanding U.S. demand, and acquiesced to a “peaceful” Iranian nuclear program. How can he be trusted not to embrace a flimsy final agreement that allows Iran to cheat its way into a nuclear weapon?

Republicans should not be reassured by the passive new Obama. Because while he’s sleeping, his aides at home and U.S. enemies abroad will be filling in for him.

The Fiscal Times

November 13, 2013

Nearly a month and a half into the dismal Obamacare rollout, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services communications director Julie Bataille told reporters on Tuesday that CMS has begun emailing at least 275,000 people who had gotten “stuck” attempting to create accounts on the glitch-ridden HealthCare.gov, asking them to come back to the site and “try again.”

Bataille refused to say whether all 275,000 people would be able to use the exchange at the same time without crashing the system. Instead, she dodged specifics about the progress programmers have been making on the website’s repair efforts and how CMS would be able to meet its Nov. 30 deadline — the day the Obama administration has promised to have the site up and running “smoothly for the vast majority of users.”

“The system is getting better each week,” Bataille said. She didn’t specify whether the website would be completely fixed and glitch-free, though. Instead, she pointed to other ways consumers could sign up for insurance through the exchanges “whether that is via direct enrollment with insurance companies to meet the pent up consumer demand or … calling the call centers or enrolling in person.”

obama_clooney blog

The Obama administration’s repeated refusal to provide specifics on when the site would actually be functioning after the end-of-November deadline is not surprising given the wide-ranging technological and operational problems with the site.

It’s even more discouraging since less than 50,000 people have signed up for health insurance through the federal exchange, according to unofficial estimates reported by the Wall Street Journal.

And it doesn’t appear to be getting better.

According to tech experts, the sorry state of the current website does little to inspire confidence that it can be fixed and functional in less than three weeks.

“When I visited HealthCare.gov on October 1, that was the worst piece of software I’ve ever experienced in my life,” said Luke Chung, founder and CEO of the software company FMS. “It had nothing to do with too many users. It couldn’t serve one user.”

obama epic incompetence

According to Sumit Nijhawan, CEO of Infogix, a data security firm working with private insurers, even if the White House can fix the problems associated with the site, they’re going to find new ones immediately. Nijhawan also warned that the systems that allow CMS and health insurance companies to exchange information are nowhere close to being ready, meaning tech problems could last years.

“What we’ve seen so far is the first set of problems that come up,” he said. “Then you have the next set of problems. It’s one set of issues leading into another.”

Nijhawan, whose firm is working to verify information submitted by users, said that they’re receiving volumes of bad information, to which he attributed one of three factors:

  • Human error, meaning the user entered incorrect information or made a mistake using the web interface. However, Nijhawan didn’t blame the user for these mistakes. “It’s not that someone mistakenly puts in wrong information. These guys haven’t bought insurance before and they don’t understand what the terminology is,” he said. “It’s quite possible they enter wrong info because they don’t understand.”
  • Data access errors related to the federal hub. In these cases, the hub provides incorrect information from one of the host of federal agencies it’s pulling from. “There’s a lot of data for the first time flying around across different firewalls. The potential for doing something wrong is really high,” he said.
  • Technical issues related to the construction of the website.

Chung, who is testifying in front of the House Oversight committee today, said these technical issues are the most frustrating.

“I have contended all along that this is not that difficult of a project,” he said. “It doesn’t provide health care, it doesn’t even provide insurance. It’s just a form to apply for a subsidy to get health insurance. It’s automating a paper form. It shouldn’t be that hard.”

“Technically, this is not that difficult,” Chung added. “It shouldn’t cost more than $10 million. And it should be something that can be done in a couple of months.”

According to both Chung and Nijhawan, even if the White House can build a functional website by the end of the month, new problems would appear almost immediately.

“The idea that it would be perfect is never. All systems are never perfect. It’s never perfectly secure or functioning,” Chung said. “If you discovered hundreds of bugs on the initial launch, there are hundreds more or multiples of that that haven’t been discovered yet.”

Nijhawan also touched on a problem that has yet to be widely addressed. He said the exchanges that are expected to allow insurance companies to share information with the federal government are not close to being ready. Without this information, CMS would not know who enrolled in the plans.

“As soon as these enrollment issues get ironed out either by December or March, you have other issues relating to the back end, where there’s a lot of reconciliation that needs to be done between health care and CMS,” Nijhawan said.

When asked why these exchanges weren’t completed before the rollout, he said, “They were trying to desperately get ready for the rollout.”

Every one of us knows America needs revival.  But what would that look like?  America has changed so much that it is no longer possible to give the usual answers to that question.  Here is a conference that combines 4 voices that will give a face, a definition and substance to revival in our nation.

The Conference is called R.I.O.T. an acronym for REVIVAL IN OUR TIME.  It begins this Thursday night November 14th at 7 PM appropriately at the American Revival Center in Martinez,  California.

Who is this conference for?  It is for every any pastor, evangelist, leader or concerned believer who is contending for a moral awakening in the United States.

Why should I attend? You should attend because you will not find a more deliberate attempt to understand and release revival anywhere.  You should attend because the very atmosphere of the RIOT itself will burn out doubt fear and confusion about revival.  You should attend because of the voices that are coming together to speak at the RIOT.

JUST LOOK AT THE SPEAKERS:

Evangelist Mario Murillo: will host the conference and minister in every session.  Mario has seen true revivals in the most unlikely places in America.  His book Reaching Critical Mass  has been required reading in over 50 schools, colleges and universities including the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry.

Richard Summerlin Thursday night November 14th at 7PM and Friday November 15th at Noon.

Not far from the scene where Trayvon Martin was killed God is growing a multiracial miracle in an airplane hangar. Richard Summerlin is building the next generation of revival congregations in America.  Thousands have been swept up into the Kingdom of Christ

Richard was a bounty hunter who went after dangerous felons and then became an expert alligator wrestler until he decided to blend his skills and become a pastor.  God has graced Richard with a wisdom and leadership mantle way beyond his young age.  There is no doubt that his preaching and miracle ministry will be an explosive encounter for leaders and all believers.

Sean Smith Friday Night November 15th 7PM

Sean Smith was just a boy when his father was murdered in inner city Oakland California.  Out of the ashes of unimaginable despair and pain God raised up a unique voice to this generation. It began when heaven deposited fire in his soul while he was a student at the University of the Pacific.  This fire turned his pain into the fuel for excellence. Just two years after his total transformation through Christ at the University of the Pacific he led a student movement.

Then the Holy Spirit promoted Sean Smith to full time crusade ministry. He became a global voice and a supernatural gift that devastates the powers of darkness.  He has written several books including the groundbreaking volume I Am Your Sign.

On Friday night at R.I.O.T Sean Smith will bring a word from the Lord that is best described by his mission statement: CARE: Captivate for Christ the hearts of a generation; Activate the army of God to fulfill its destiny; Reach out to and reap lost souls; and Equip the body of Christ to meet the challenge of the Great Commission.

Winkie Pratney Saturday November 16th at Noon and again at 6PM.

After more than three million miles of global travel and sometimes speaking to more than half-a-million annually, Winkie has wide experience in motivating leaders, ministers, educators and young people. Winkie is a mavin, a researcher and public communicator with ability to take existing ideas, break them down to simpler forms and make them practical and freely available to others.

Winkie is considered the greatest living authority on revival. A featured speaker at major conferences, conventions, festivals and other gatherings, his “scholarship on fire” approach has impacted multitudes around the globe, and resulted in the creation or formation of new works to effectively reach, encourage and train young people.

There is no charge for the conference.  Childcare is provided in each session.  There is no doubt that this conference will take revival from the theoretical and the mystical and make it more real than you ever imagined.  See you at the RIOT!
