Legacy? What Legacy?

By Mario Murillo

At this moment, Obama is drafting his legacy for a farewell speech in Chicago on January 10th.  No president has written a farewell speech that focused entirely on their legacy. Nothing says colossal failure more than this.

The greatest travesty is to say he has a legacy.  For our own sanity as a nation we dare not confuse lunacy and legacy.  You cannot find—with an electron microscope—anything Obama improved after 8 years of holding all the cards.

We must have an autopsy on his presidency or we are doomed to repeat this towering mistake again.

His impending— “I don’t care what anybody says, I did a good job”—tirade in Chicago will be a cringe-worthy act of self- delusion. Far from exalting him, it will cement his status as worst President ever.

How badly did he govern?  Consider what he had going for him: He was swaddled in the thickest layers of spin ever accorded an American President.  Look who protected him!  He had the media in his corner—mainstream journalists outdid each other to lie for him.

He had Hollywood in his pocket—movie stars sacrificed at his altar. Social media giants Facebook, Twitter, Google unambiguously propagandized and censored.  Universities taught Obamanetics.

We have had eight years of the most meticulously choreographed suspension of reality that America has ever seen.

Alas, as a testament to his ginormous ineptitude, even this flotilla of revisionism and spin could not keep the bodies from floating to the surface.

At this hour, a pathetic string of panic moves confirms the impending horror.   His remaining toadies work to discredit Donald Trump.  No outgoing president has ever tried to discredit the incoming president even before they took office. Obama blurts out how he would have beaten Trump.  He has become Norma Desmond descending the staircase in the final scene of Sunset Boulevard.

hillary-and-obama-pic-575x380

Let’s take one final look at what he did to us.

  1. He paralyzed the economy: The expansion that began in June 2009 has been the weakest since World War II, with real gross domestic product growth averaging 2.1%. At 7 1/2 years and counting, it is also among the longest on record. 98 million Americans are out of the workforce. Millions more live below the poverty level.

He strangled small business with regulations.  He fought harder to put men in women’s restrooms than he did to put money in your pocket.

The greatest testament to his failure in the economy was the immediate reaction of the Stock Market and business when Donald Trump won.  Economic pundit Caroline Baum said, “New signs of optimism emerged immediately following Trump’s Nov. 8 election. The stock market has been positively buoyant while consumer, business and home-builder confidence have all soared. Surveys suggest businesses are planning to increase capital spending.  That sense of optimism will need to be ratified by results, but the message to Obama is unmistakable: Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.”

  1. He nearly destroyed the Democratic Party. “In the eight years since he was first elected, Democrats have lost more than 1,000 seats at the state and national level. Republicans now control 4,170 state legislative seats compared with 3,129 for the Democrats, an all-time low.

Republicans now hold 33 governorships and will have full control — governorship and both houses of the state legislature — in 25 states compared with five for the Democrats.

Democrats lost 12 governorships, 13 Senate seats and 69 seats in the House of Representatives during Obama’s two terms, highlighting “a devastation up and down the party across the nation,” -The Hill.

  1. He looked like a clown to our enemies. Obama claims he told Russian President Vladimir Putin in China in September, to “cut it out” in terms of the hacking. Putin’s reaction embodies the world’s view of Obama.  Putin thought it was a joke.

Mr. President, at first, the world saw you as a promise.  Then they were amused.  Now they are dazed and confused by you.   Your eight years of leading from behind and issuing empty threats stripped America of moral authority and turned our foreign policy into sputtering wreckage.

Again, Caroline Baum said, “The wars Obama inherited are still going on. The Taliban has made a comeback in Afghanistan. Syria is in shambles. And Secretary of State John Kerry has been so ineffective that no one even bothered to invite him to the Syrian cease-fire negotiations among Russia, Turkey and Iran.

  1. He stabbed Israel in the back. Obama overruled 36 years of U.S. policy by abandoning its ally Israel and allowing the passage of U.N. Security Council Resolution 2234, declaring Israeli settlements, including the Western Wall and Temple Mount in East Jerusalem, illegal. He did it out of hatred for Israel.
  2. He made race relations worse. He stood in front of the Greek columns in Denver and promised to make race relations better. 56% say he made them worse.

Before he had the facts, Obama accused Cambridge, Mass., police officers of acting “stupidly” when they arrested Henry Louis Gates Jr. in his own home in 2009. The police were responding to a report of a potential burglary, which turned out to be Gates trying to pry open his front door.

Blacks and Whites took sides and the racial divide began.  On his watch cops were killed out of racial hatred.  Rioting, looting and burning down businesses were justified to protest.  Obama offered only mild rebukes.  He led the Democratic Party down the destructive path of race baiting.

Obama has promoted the idea of a police force biased against blacks. He vehemently denied FBI Director James Comey’s explanation for the surge in violent crime and homicide rates last year as a result of the “Ferguson effect,” with law-enforcement officers pulling back from proactive policing following the 2014 fatal shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo.

Obama says police are out to target blacks but totally ignores black on black violence.   Chicago, Obama’s hometown, witnessed 762 homicides last year, the most in two decades, and 1,100 more shootings than in 2015.   Obama refuses to accept the fact that police are three times less likely to shoot unarmed black suspects than white ones.

  1. Obama will not say Radical Islamic Terrorism no matter what. Once more let me quote Caroline Baum: “Obama has spent eight years deftly avoiding using those three words to call an act what it is. He has intellectualized his position by claiming the phrase “equates Islam with terrorism,” which is counterproductive to U.S. counterterrorism efforts.

Instead, Obama prefers terms such as “workplace violence,” even if the terrorists in question pay homage to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, leader of the Islamic State. A terrorist act provides an opportunity for the president to lecture the nation on the need for stricter gun-control laws.

Calling something what it is may not solve the problem, but avoiding it makes Obama look silly.”

Some of you may wonder why I have skipped other scandals like Benghazi, Solyndra, Fast and Furious and illegals who killed American.  Frankly, there is no room here for all his failings.

Legacy? What legacy?  Pilate wondered about Jesus’ mission and legacy.  He asked Jesus about it.  Jesus said, “ask those who saw my works and heard my teaching.”

Hardly anyone is left who can—with a straight face and a strong stomach—say something about Obama’s words, acts and legacy.  Obama is left to do it himself.

He is at war with us.

The proof America is divine is she survived Obama.  The testament to his abomination is that she nearly didn’t.  He is on his way out so why should I bother to speak out about him anymore?  Here is the reason:

He hates America.  He hates Israel.  He hates Christians.  Those three statements are not my reasons for speaking out about him—in fact, they are bait to illustrate my first point.

People will savage those remarks.  They will tell me that I am lying.  They will boast that there is not a shred of evidence to support what I have said.  Aha!  There you have it…it’s the extreme delusion of Obama, the media and his followers that provoked me to write this.

Listen to him!  In the last days of his debacle.  Per him, he did nothing wrong.  He is the best president since Lincoln.  He did more to protect Israel than any other president.  He created millions of jobs.  He never lied.  He stabilized the Arab world.  He improved race relations in America.  He would have beaten Donald Trump.

The delusion that Obama did a good job—when he was far and away the worst president ever—is a threat to our future.   You see, Obama is not going to go away.  He will continue to make mischief because he is at war with us.   Now read what I said back in November of 2015.

He is at war with us.

By Mario Murillo  November 17th, 2015

The American pastor Saeed Abedini–held hostage by Iran was set to fly to freedom but they had to wait for another plane to arrive from America first.  That plane was most certainly carrying $400 million in cash sent from Obama to Iran.  There is also great reason to believe that money will end up in the hands of those who would destroy Israel and America.

In an interview about his release Saeed Abedini was asked, “Were they effectively waiting for the money to come in before they then let you take off?” He answered, “Yeah. They didn’t talk about money. They just told us about the — they told me about the plane. … So, the reason that they said you’re here in the airport is — was just because we are waiting for another plane.”

The Wall Street Journal says “But U.S. officials also acknowledge that Iranian negotiators on the prisoner exchange said they wanted the cash to show they had gained something tangible.

How can this be happening without criminal charges?  Because the White House has rigged the system. Obama is at war with us.  Hillary will continue his war on us.

However, this article is not about Obama. He is mentioned in it.  He is accused in it—he is the villain of it—but it is not about him.  This article is about you and me.  It is about facing the most horrible fact—we have had to face—since the Civil War.

The man who occupies the White House is at war with us.  He is not at war against ISIS.  He is not at war against black poverty.  He is not at war against unemployment.  He is not at war against anything that threatens you.  He is at war with you.

The man who has the most power over Americans is actively working to destroy Americans.  That is a bitter pill to swallow—but swallow it we must.

But how do I convince you that he is at war against us?  I struggled with this for a long time. Then I found an analogy that explains Obama’s destructive style.  He acts like a man that has murdered his wife and is trying to cover it up.

The husband is always the first suspect—no matter what.  Detectives use a different set of eyes than you and I.  The adoring faithful husband is defended by family, friends and neighbors.  He has the perfect alibi.  He has no history of violence.

However, the police will not rule him out if he begins to act strangely.  Say, he shows little sense of loss.  He talks more about himself than he does his dead wife.  If she is missing, he seems to be going through the motions of trying to find her.

Obama’s reaction to the mass murder in Paris is a perfect example.  It is the same, tired, brain-numbing non response to terror.  He is sorry, but not really.  He keeps up the appearance of a caring husband who—having done away with his wife—feigns sorrow.   He has done this after every terror attack.

Obama-Paris-Shooting-1-620x400

Sherlock Holmes said, “How often have I said to you that when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth?”   When you eliminate the impossible about Obama here is what is left: He is motivated by hate.  He hates America.  He hates Christianity.  He hates Israel.

All of his policies carry this one universal criterion: How much it will damage the people I hate.  Use that formula and all of the lights will suddenly go on.  He blocks energy independence, a secure border, a jobs program or anything else that would better our lives.

His foreign, environmental, economic, immigration, and educational, policies fail by design—not incompetence.  He ruined our healthcare; enflames racial division; foments student unrest, and endangers the lives of police officers by design.

He bullies Israel but gives billions to her mortal enemies.

Here is what is really chilling: Even after it was proven that the killers in Paris were Syrian refugees, he will still force us to take in 100,000 Syrian refugees. Is he actually working toward terrorism here at home?

His zeal to end America Israel and Christianity is so great—I seriously believe he would wreak havoc—declare martial law, stay in office beyond his current term—to finish the job.

If you are a true Christian and you want to stop Obama…then stop doing these things:

1.Stop denying that he is at war against you and your children’s future. Face it! How can you do what Christ wants you to do against this evil if you will not admit the evil?

We cannot stop Obama unless we face the fact that he is at war with us. All God-fearing, freedom-loving people must unify against him.  The unity and resolve required to stop him can come only after we face the ugly truth.

2. Quit saying all we need to do is pray.   No one ever prayed like Jesus.  No one ever understood prayer Like Jesus.  No one valued prayer like Jesus.  And yet, He did not just pray.  He went forth in the power of the Spirit.  He rebuked the king—He turned over the tables of the money changers and He verbally blistered the Pharisees.  He did not just pray—He acted on His prayers.

Well,of course we need to pray. I intercede daily.  But to say that all we should do is pray is a cop out.  If you believe that the sole response to Obama should be prayer then you are doing a disservice—not only to America—but to prayer.   Prayer always ends in acts of obedience.

In Acts 4:29 Peter prayed “Lord look on their threats and grant to your servants that with all boldness we may speak Your Word.”  Try this the next time you pray—Ask for boldness and guidance.  Ask to know your place in stopping the war on Israel, Christianity and everything that made America great.  After you pray…you have to take a stand.

slander3. Stop supporting Christian compromise. Why your pastor refuses to preach against the crimes of Obama is not the question—why you still attend that church is the question.

(Special note: I do not believe that the Sunday pulpit should be a constant flow of tirades against Obama.  It should be well-placed and relevant to the instruction of the people.  It should be done to inform believers about why we believe what we believe so they can answer the persecution of the culture.   What I am saying is that it is odd if you do not know where your pastor stands on these issues.)

Your time, talent and money should not be going to the compromised church.  Shift your support. Begin to strengthen the arm of those who are risking all to oppose this tyrant.

4. Stop abusing love. It is not hateful to oppose Obama—it is love. To be silent in face of hatred is hatred itself.  When we remain silent we do not practice love; we hate God’s Word; we hate holiness; we hate truth; we hate sacrifice and courage.

Stop worrying about what millennials think.  Stop worrying about our public persona.  When the truth comes out a grateful generation will thank us for intervening against destruction.

5. Quit saying “I am not going to do anything because it won’t make any difference.” Revivals can be traced to a single person. Do not say that great movements cannot begin with small groups in unpromising circumstances.  Indeed, that is exactly how all great movements have been born.

You have come to the kingdom for such a time as this.  You cannot waste one more moment in fear or self-pity.  God can take your simple prayer and willingness and add His amazing power and wisdom to your endeavors.

What if God has been waiting a hundred years for you to come along—discard fear and doubt—take up the sword of the Lord—and plunge it into the heart of darkness?

Should Christians Vote for Trump?

By Eric Metaxas

Over this past year many of Donald Trump’s comments have made me almost literally hopping mad. The hot-mic comments from 2005 are especially horrifying. Can there be any question we should denounce them with flailing arms and screeching volume?

Trump’s behavior is odious, but Clinton has a deplorable basketful of deal breakers.

This question should hardly require an essay, but let’s face it: We’re living in strange times. America is in trouble.

Over this past year many of Donald Trump’s comments have made me almost literally hopping mad. The hot-mic comments from 2005 are especially horrifying. Can there be any question we should denounce them with flailing arms and screeching volume? I must not hang out in the right locker rooms, because if anyone I know said such things I might assault him physically (and repent later). So yes, many see these comments as a deal breaker.

But we have a very knotty and larger problem. What if the other candidate also has deal breakers? Even a whole deplorable basketful? Suddenly things become horribly awkward. Would God want me simply not to vote? Is that a serious option?

-What if not pulling the lever for Mr. Trump effectively means electing someone who has actively enabled sexual predation in her husband before—and while—he was president?

-Won’t God hold me responsible for that? What if she defended a man who raped a 12-year-old and in recalling the case laughed about getting away with it? Will I be excused from letting this person become president?

-What if she used her position as secretary of state to funnel hundreds of millions into her own foundation, much of it from nations that treat women and gay people worse than dogs? Since these things are true, can I escape responsibility for them by simply not voting?

Many say they won’t vote because choosing the lesser of two evils is still choosing evil. But this is sophistry. Neither candidate is pure evil. They are human beings. We cannot escape the uncomfortable obligation to soberly choose between them.

if

Not voting—or voting for a third candidate who cannot win—is a rationalization designed more than anything to assuage our consciences. Yet people in America and abroad depend on voters to make this very difficult choice.

Children in the Middle East are forced to watch their fathers drowned in cages by ISIS. Kids in inner-city America are condemned to lives of poverty, hopelessness and increasing violence. Shall we sit on our hands and simply trust “the least of these” to God, as though that were our only option? Don’t we have an obligation to them?

Two heroes about whom I’ve written faced similar difficulties. William Wilberforce, who ended the slave trade in the British Empire, often worked with other parliamentarians he knew to be vile and immoral in their personal lives.

Why did he? First, because as a sincere Christian he knew he must extend grace and forgiveness to others, since he desperately needed them himself. Second, because he knew the main issue was not his moral purity, nor the moral impurity of his colleagues, but rather the injustices and horrors suffered by the African slaves whose cause he championed. He knew that before God his first obligation was to them, and he must do what he could to help them.

The anti-Nazi martyr Dietrich Bonhoeffer also did things most Christians of his day were disgusted by. He most infamously joined a plot to kill the head of his government. He was horrified by it, but he did it nonetheless because he knew that to stay “morally pure” would allow the murder of millions to continue. Doing nothing or merely “praying” was not an option. He understood that God was merciful, and that even if his actions were wrong, God saw his heart and could forgive him. But he knew he must act.

Wilberforce and Bonhoeffer knew it was an audience of One to whom they would ultimately answer. And He asks, “What did you do to the least of these?”

It’s a fact that if Hillary Clinton is elected, the country’s chance to have a Supreme Court that values the Constitution—and the genuine liberty and self-government for which millions have died—is gone. Not for four years, or eight, but forever.

Many say Mr. Trump can’t be trusted to deliver on this score, but Mrs. Clinton certainly can be trusted in the opposite direction. For our kids and grandkids, are we not obliged to take our best shot at this? Shall we sit on our hands and refuse to choose?

If imperiously flouting the rules by having a private server endangered American lives and secrets and may lead to more deaths, if she cynically deleted thousands of emails, and if her foreign-policy judgment led to the rise of Islamic State, won’t refusing to vote make me responsible for those suffering as a result of these things?

vote

How do I squirm out of this horrific conundrum? It’s unavoidable: We who can vote must answer to God for these people, whom He loves. We are indeed our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers.

We would be responsible for passively electing someone who champions the abomination of partial-birth abortion, someone who is celebrated by an organization that sells baby parts. We already live in a country where judges force bakers, florists and photographers to violate their consciences and faith—and Mrs. Clinton has zealously ratified this. If we believe this ends with bakers and photographers, we are horribly mistaken. No matter your faith or lack of faith, this statist view of America will dramatically affect you and your children.

For many of us, this is very painful, pulling the lever for someone many think odious. But please consider this: A vote for Donald Trump is not necessarily a vote for Donald Trump himself. It is a vote for those who will be affected by the results of this election. Not to vote is to vote. God will not hold us guiltless.

WHY?

WHY?

By Mario Murillo

Today we woke up to horror.  We hold our children closer.  Our minds and hearts race. So many things that seemed important yesterday are far from our mind now.  We want to know why.  We want to know why people do these things…things that escape our ability to describe.

Why?  Because the order for these massacres was given for the last two years ago.

ISIS militants have been urging supporters to run westerners over with vehicles since 2014, when Abu Mohammed al Adnani, a spokesman for the Islamic State, urged the group’s supporters to kill “disbelieving American or European – especially the spiteful and filthy French – or an Australian, or a Canadian, or any other disbeliever from the disbelievers waging war, including the citizens of the countries that entered into a coalition against the Islamic State, then rely upon Allah, and kill him in any manner or way, however it may be,” he said in 2014. “Smash his head with a rock, or slaughter him with a knife, or run him over with your car, or throw him down from a high place, or choke him, or poison him.”

Why? Because Western leaders behave like children pulling the covers over their head for fear of the monster in the closet.  They do not want to be seen as “Islamophobic or racist.”  They don’t want to admit that global radical Islam has put a Trojan horse in every nation that has accepted unvetted refugees.

Why? Because an American President’s empathy toward Islam trumps the welfare of the American people.

Why?  Because the civilized world has yet to admit that World War Three is at the door if we do not unify.

One of the most moving scenes in the film MRS. MINIVER is its finale– the speech made by the vicar (Henry Wilcoxon) to the local community assembled in their war -ravaged church, the walls held up by braces and the summer sky clearly visible through the rafters overhead. This scene had such an impact on American president Franklin D. Roosevelt, that at his request the text was broadcast over the Voice of America in Europe and was printed on millions of leaflets dropped over German-occupied territory. The Wilcoxon speech is frequently cited in books about Hollywood’s World War II films as exemplary of the kind of filmmaking that helped mobilize the United States to war in defense of its English allies.

Here is the text of that speech:

“We, in this quiet corner of England, have suffered the loss of friends very dear to us– some close to this church: George West, choir boy; James Bellard, station master and bell ringer and a proud winner, only one hour before his death, of the Belding Cup for his beautiful Miniver rose; and our hearts go out in sympathy to the two families who share the cruel loss of a young girl who was married at this altar only two weeks ago.

The homes of many of us have been destroyed, and the lives of young and old have been taken. There is scarcely a household that hasn’t been struck to the heart.

And why? Surely you must have asked yourself this question. Why in all conscience should these be the ones to suffer? Children, old people, a young girl at the height of her loveliness. Why these? Are these our soldiers? Are these our fighters? Why should they be sacrificed?

I shall tell you why.

Because this is not only a war of soldiers in uniform. It is a war of the people, of all the people, and it must be fought not only on the battlefield, but in the cities and in the villages, in the factories and on the farms, in the home, and in the heart of every man, woman, and child who loves freedom!

Well, we have buried our dead, but we shall not forget them. Instead they will inspire us with an unbreakable determination to free ourselves and those who come after us from the tyranny and terror that threaten to strike us down.  This is the people’s war! It is our war! We are the fighters! Fight it then! Fight it with all that is in us, and may God defend the right.”   AMEN.

Trump tears into Clinton over Orlando as he says attacks prove HE’S the man to protect Americans – including gays and Muslims – and claims she would let more Islamic terrorists into the country

  • Donald Trump delivered a stinging speech about terrorism on Monday in New Hampshire, hammering Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama
  • Said he wants to protect all Americans from jihadis and faulted the Obama administration for being asleep at the switch on immigration
  • Expressed strong solidarity with gays and lesbians after an armed jihadi killed more than four dozen people at a gay nightclub in Florida
  • ‘Ignorance is not bliss,’ he said of Clinton’s national security proposals; ‘It’s deadly. Totally deadly’

Donald Trump leveled a national-security flamethrower at Hillary Clinton on Tuesday, blaming her for embracing an immigration policy that would drive more Islamic radicals to stage terror attacks like the one from which Orlando, Florida is only beginning to recover.

Clinton, he said, would negligently implement a ‘catastrophic immigration plan’ that would ‘bring vastly more radical Islamic immigrants into this country, threatening not only our society but our entire way of life.’

‘Ignorance is not bliss,’ he said in a half-hour speech at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire.

‘It’s deadly. Totally deadly.’

CLOBBERING CLINTON: Donald Trump delivered a biting speech Tuesday on terrorism and national security, aimed largely at Hillary Clinton, following a deadly Islamist terror attack on a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida

DUELING SPEECHES: Clinton and Trump split on gun control but agreed on the notion that radical Islamists are a threat to the LGBT community

Trump castigated the former secretary of state for comments she made in November 2015 during a speech to the Council on Foreign Relations.

‘Let’s be clear: Islam is not our adversary,’ Clinton said then. ‘Muslims are peaceful and tolerant people and have nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism.’

‘That is Hillary Clinton,’ Trump said, hammering her for her response to the weekend’s bloodbath at a gay nightclub where more than four dozen people list their lives to a man who pledged allegiance to the ISIS terror army.

‘The days of deadly ignorance will end, and they will end soon’ if he is elected president, Trump pledged.

Clinton’s response on Monday was equal parts gun control and a motherly embrace of America’s gays and lesbians.

‘She says the solution is to ban guns. They tried that in France,’ Trump poked, referring to last year’s terror attacks in Paris. ‘One hundred thirty people were brutally murdered by Islamic terrorists in cold blood,’ he said.

‘Her plan is to disarm law-abiding Americans, abolish the Second Amendment and leave only terrorists … with guns.’

‘She wants to take away Americans’ guns and then admit the very people who want to slaughter us,’ Trump boomed, reading from a teleprompter. He pledged to meet with the National Rifle Association, the powerful lobby that has endorsed him, to ‘discuss how to make sure Americans have the means to protect themselves in this age of terror.’

‘CAN’T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS: ‘Hillary Clinton can never pretend to be a friend of the gay community,’ Trump said in New Hampshire, while she supports immigration policies that admit anti-gay jihadi immigrants

IN YOUR FACE: Trump read a Clinton quote from a November 2015 speech before attempting to dismantle her views on immigration, national security and border protection

Trump effectively blunted Clinton’s approach on anti-gay discrimination by joining her, however, saying that ‘our nation stands together in solidarity with the members of Orlando’s LGBT community’ against a terrorist who plotted ‘to execute gay and lesbian Americans.’

He called the carnage ‘an assault on the ability of free people to live their lives, love who they want, and express their identity.’

That rhetoric would have sounded at home during the Democratic primary season, or on the stage of Sunday night’s Tony Awards.

Trump, in fact, claimed that he would be a better and more effective advocate than Clinton for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans.

‘Hillary Clinton can never pretend to be a friend of the gay community,’ he said, while supporting immigration policies that bring along with them the threat of more jihadi immigrants.

‘She can’t have it both ways,’ he said. ‘She can’t claim to be supportive of these communities while [increasing] the number of people who want to oppress these communities.’

He emphasized that as president he would prioritize the protection of law-abiding ‘people who are potential victims of crimes based on backgrounds or sexual orientation.’

Trump has been the Republican Party’s most consistent immigration hawk during the primary season, advocating for tighter border control and catching flak along the way.

‘We want to remain a free and open society … [but] we have to control our borders. And we have to control them now. Not later. Right now,’ he said Monday.

With dozens dead in Orlando, he said, ‘we cannot afford to talk around issues anymore. We have to address these issues head-on.’

In a tweak to his previous proposal for a ban on non-citizen Muslims coming into the United States, he said he would use existing presidential powers to ‘suspend immigration from areas of the world where there is a proven history of terrorism against the United States, Europe, or our allies.’

And doubling down on identity groups that cleave to Clinton’s side, he emphasized that ‘radical Islam is anti-woman, anti-gay and anti-American.’

‘I refuse to allow America to become a place where gay people, Christian people, Jewish people are targets of persecution and intimidation by radical Islamic preachers of hate and violence.’

‘This is not just a national security issue. It’s a quality of life issue.’

Record 499 Syrian Refugees Admitted to US So Far in May Includes No Christians

By Patrick Goodenough | May 23, 2016 | 4:25 AM EDT

(CNSNews.com) – The Obama administration has admitted 499 Syrian refugees so far this month, with no Christians among them.

Of the 499 admitted in May, 495 are Sunni Muslims and the remaining four are described simply as “Moslem” in State Department Refugee Processing Center data.

Since FY2016 began on October 1, a total of 2,235 Syrian refugees have been resettled in the United States. Of them, 10 (0.44 percent) are Christians: three Catholics, two Orthodox, one Greek Orthodox and four refugees identified simply as “Christian.”

Christians make up the biggest non-Muslim minority in Syria – about 10 percent before the civil war erupted.

Sunnis

Meanwhile the State Department figures show that 2,170 (97 percent) of the 2,235 Syrian refugee newcomers in FY2016 are Sunni Muslims. The rest are made up of 17 Shi’a Muslims, 27 other Muslims, 10 Yazidis, and one refugee identified as “other religion.”

This marks the first time the fraction of Christians admitted during any given month in FY2016 has fallen below half a percentage point. Last October, it was 2.1 percent. By year’s end it had dropped to 0.9 percent, and over the ensuing months it has edged down to 0.8, 0.7, 0.5 and now 0.4 percent.

With another week still to run, May already accounts for the highest monthly tally of Syrian refugees admitted since the civil war began in the spring of 2011. The 499 admitted so far in May also exceeds the total number admitted during the first three years of the conflict.

After this month the next highest monthly admission numbers were recorded in April 2016 (451), September 2015 (389) and March 2016 (330).

The pace has picked up noticeably since last February, when the State Department opened a special refugee “resettlement surge center” in Amman, Jordan to speed up processing. Until then, President Obama’s goal of admitting 10,000 Syrian refugees in FY2016 looked set to fall woefully short, with only 841 in total admitted between Oct. 2015 and Jan. 2016.

A total of 499 Syrian refugees have been admitted to the U.S. so far this month – the largest single month figure since the civil war began in 2011. (Data: State Department, Graph: CNSNews.com)

Even with the “surge” and significantly accelerated processing times – from around 18-24 months down to just three months – achieving the president’s fiscal year goal still looks like a tall order: With four months and one week to go, the total number admitted is still 7,765 shy of the target.

The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS/ISIL) attacks in Paris last November fueled concerns that the terrorist group would use refugee admission programs to infiltrate fighters into Western nations. According to French prosecutors two of the Paris attackers had evidently entered Europe through Greece, posing as refugees fleeing from the fighting in Syria.

Director of National Intelligence James Clapper told a Senate committee in February that ISIS was “taking advantage of the torrent of migrants [entering Europe] to insert operatives into that flow.”

In the U.S., dozens of Republican governors pushed back against allowing Syrian refugees to settle in their states, citing security concerns.

Since the Paris attacks, the State Department program has admitted a total of 1,944 Syrian refugees, of whom five (0.25 percent) are Christians, 1,884 (96.9 percent) are Sunnis, 44 are Shi’a and other Muslims, 10 are Yazidis and one is “other religion.”

Last March, Secretary of State John Kerry formally determined that atrocities being carried out by ISIS against Christians, Yazidis and other minorities in the areas it controls constitutes genocide.

only Christians

Before the conflict began in March 2011, the estimated Syrian population breakdown by religion was 10 percent Christian, 74 percent Sunni, and another 16 percent comprising various other Muslim traditions, including Shi’a, Allawite and Druze.

The U.N. refugee agency UNHCR acknowledges that Syrian minorities “fear that registration might bring retribution from other refugees” in the camps that it runs in countries surrounding Syria.

Many Christians therefore tend to avoid registering with the agency, and since the UNHCR plays a key role in the early stages of applications for refugee status in the U.S., Christians are unintentionally disadvantaged in the process.

“Without doubt, Syrians of all confessions are being victimized by this savage war and are facing unimaginable suffering,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) said on the Senate floor last March as he introduced legislation that would set aside 10,000 refugee resettlement places annually, for five years, for Syrian religious minorities.

“But only Christians and other religious minorities are the deliberate targets of systematic persecution and genocide,” he said. “It’s well-established that many religious minorities in Syria are very reluctant to register as refugees with the United Nations because they fear facing even more persecution.”

WHY DOESN’T GOD DO SOMETHING?

By Mario Murillo

The world is falling apart—why doesn’t God do something?  We hear that a lot.  But what if—in this dark and evil time—God is doing a lot more than we could imagine?  What if He has planted miracles all over the world?  What if solutions, strategies, inventions and talent are trapped inside of people because they are waiting?

Zacharias, John the Baptist’s dad yearned for the Messiah to come.  Yet, when the miracle arrived—he choked.   The Bible says, “And Zacharias said to the angel, ‘How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years.’ And the angel answered and said to him, ‘I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and was sent to speak to you and bring you these glad tidings. But behold, you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their own time.”-Luke 1:18-20.

He was waiting for the consolation of Israel but when it came—he wanted to keep waiting!  Gabriel took away Zacharias’ voice to jolt him into action.  I want to jolt you into action! Almost every hero in the Old Testament began by believing they were the wrong person, in the wrong place at the wrong time.

So now, I am asking you “WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?”  Let’s kill the excuses that trap miracles inside of us.  Let your soul be overtaken by these three convictions:

YOU copy

1. You—not someone else! 1 Samuel 14: 6 says, “Then Jonathan said to the young man who bore his armor, “Come, let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised; it may be that the Lord will work for us. For nothing restrains the Lord from saving by many or by few.”

Jonathan had every right to cave into self-pity.  His father—King Saul, was a runaway train that had driven Israel into unavoidable disaster.  One million Philistines are marching toward them with murder in their eyes.  Jonathan’s world was at an end.

Something supernatural grew in his heart: a confidence that betrayed his circumstances…a boldness that could not be explained.  He knew that he was the man to do the job from the simple fact that there was no one else available.

It’s you—not someone else!  Do you believe you can’t do it?  Good!  Henry T. Blackaby said, “Will God ever ask you to do something you are not able to do? The answer is yes–all the time! It must be that way, for God’s glory and kingdom. If we function according to our ability alone, we get the glory; if we function according to the power of the Spirit within us, God gets the glory. He wants to reveal Himself to a watching world.”

Take inventory of yourself.  When you do, the news may not be encouraging.  Maybe you are sickly, old, poor, uneducated and alone.  Maybe you have failed and bear a stain on your reputation.  Are you done with your list?  Good, now burn it!  Offer up all of these limitations as a flaming sacrifice to the one who does not call the qualified but qualifies the called.

God puts His spirit on broken people who dwell in the obscurity of despised circumstances.  He raises vessels out of the dust of despair.   1 Samuel 10: 6, 7 says, “Then the Spirit of the Lord will come upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man. And let it be, when these signs come to you, that you do as the occasion demands; for God is with you.”  It’s you—not someone else.HERE copy

2.Here—not somewhere else! Now, more than ever, Americans feel trapped in dead jobs, bad neighborhoods, and abusive relationships. Millions live wishing they were someplace else.

Breathes there a young person who has not lamented—if only they could get away from their parents—they could do something great?   Hasn’t every pastor fantasized how in another church their unsung greatness would blossom?

Elijah was a mighty prophet.  King Ahab was a hen-pecked scoundrel.  At no time were their opposite natures clearer than in their reaction to drought.  Elijah was on his way to pray for rain.  Ahab was looking for grass.  One saw hope in God.  The other put their trust in a place.   1 Kings 18: 5 “And Ahab had said to Obadiah, ‘Go into the land to all the springs of water and to all the brooks; perhaps we may find grass to keep the horses and mules alive, so that we will not have to kill any livestock.”

You are either looking for grass or you are praying for rain.  You are looking for grass when you race to a city that is having great meetings because you cannot believe for revival right where you are.  You are looking for grass when you scout out the land for a hook up or a connection or the better deal.  You have given up on God’s power to do something right where you are.

What is in your house?  Who could write a more compelling story than the one about the widow whose godly husband died—she is cheated out of her inheritance and now her sons are being sold into slavery?  She falls before the prophet begging for a miracle.  He says that last thing she expected to hear: “what is in your house?”

What is in my house?  Despair, futility and humiliation are in my house. How could there be anything in there?  There is absolutely nothing in there.  That is why I am here begging you for help!

Then she remembered that she had one jar of oil.  Now she could receive the word of the Lord: “2 Kings 4: 3 Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few. 4 And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.” 5 So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out. 6 Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.” And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased.7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.”

What are you waiting for?  All of the seeds of greatness are in your present circumstances.

3. Now—not someday! Here is a conversation that has never happened: God says, here’s what I want you to do.  Let me know a good time to start.”  Jesus said, “But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62.

Psalm 39 is a gut-wrenching psalm.  It seems to focus on the danger of wasting a life.  After some agonizing experiences the writer comes to a magnificent realization in verse 7: “What do I wait for?  My hope is in God.”  What would happen if you became utterly convinced that the inner miracle that God has stored in you needs to come out no matter what?  What if you completely believed that it is you, not someone else—it is here not somewhere else—it is now and not someday?

The question is not “why doesn’t God do something.”  The question is “WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?”

I think that Henry T. Blackaby answered that best: “If Christians around the world were to suddenly renounce their personal agendas, their life goals and their aspirations, and begin responding in radical obedience to everything God showed them. The world would be turned upside down. How do we know? Because that’s what first century Christians did, and the world is still talking about it.”
