What is going on. What to do about it.

Masses of Americans believe there is a cover up in Las Vegas.  They do not accept the media’s version of events.  They believe someone is hiding the truth.  Something this evil and horrifying must have more to it than just one man with no motive.

They believe that this is a false flag orchestrated to take away our freedoms and help usher in government contol.  I hate conspiracy theories.  But who can say without a doubt that they are wrong?  We may never know what is behind the massacre in Las Vegas, but there are things we can know—important things.

We can know what is really going on.  We can know what to do about it.

That is the promise of 1Chronicles 12:32, “of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do…”

So, what is going on?  The prophetic voices I trust, tell me a blanket of supernatural evil has settled on America.  They say it settled on us in stages.   Let me summarize their perspective:

The first stage is the fury against the president.  I do not agree with everything he does or tweets; but who can deny the onslaught against him is bizarre?  Even respected people have gone inexplicably wacko.   No Trump insult is out of bounds, or vile enough.  The subject never changes.  Entire networks preach Trump hate 24 hours a day.

Next, demonic power is creating human monsters.  Read this part carefully:  The word fierce appears in two notable instances in the New Testament:  One is in Matthew 8 calling the demoniac “exceedingly fierce.”  The other is 2 Timothy 3:1 “But know this, that in the last days perilous (fierce) times will come…”

The implication is clear: Demons drive acts of depravity—acts so depraved we won’t mention them here.  They are flooding mainstream America to kill natural emotions.

Now read the rest of these verses in the light of this insight: “For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God” -2 Timothy 3: 2-4.

Revelation 13:17 says, “and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”  I knew that verse would be fulfilled but, I wondered…how in the world could it ever happen in a free society like America?  Well, here’s the answer:

A society dulled by supernaturally controlled addictions, and revolting appetites can be easily manipulated.  They can consider anybody who disagrees with their politics human garbage.  Suddenly, it’s okay to take away their guns, their rights, their jobs, and put them on an economic hit list.  Bottom line: it has all gone supernatural.

So, if that’s what happening, what do we do?  God wants to do an important miracle in the American church so she can spare America from disaster.   THE AMERICAN CHURCH MUST GO SUPERNATURAL.

I have never felt this urgent about a truth.  The world is surrendering to demons.  We must surrender to the Holy Spirit.   There is a great hope but we must act now.

Heaven saw all this coming.  God’s Spirit already forged weapons and prepared a plan.  There is a supernatural assignment for every church, every leader, and every believer.  Here is what we must do:

Stop grieving the Holy Spirit.  Stop doing these things that hinder miracle power when we so desperately need it.

-Stop teaching that gifts of power are not for today.  Stop asking the church to fight with one hand tied behind her back.  Stop denying the weapons the Jesus paid for with His own blood.

-Stop running the church on human power, marketing and wisdom.  This makes you AWOL.  We are in a war not a business.  You have been sidelined and neutralized.  You have big events that do nothing to save America.  Worst of all, you distract the army of God from even becoming an army.

-Stop banning instruction on spiritual warfare.  Restore truth about the gifts of discerning of Spirits and deliverance.

-Stop preaching false revival.  Away with strange fire!  Stop binging on emotional extremes that reduce the gifts of the Spirit to parlor tricks.  Stop having “out of Bible experiences.”  Quit the New Age approach to miracles that make it about formulas and techniques instead a relationship with a Holy God.  Ask for real power and boldness to speak the truth.

Start asking for boldness and power.   Acts 4:29 “Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, 30 by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your Holy Servant Jesus.”  Peter knew exactly what to ask for in a situation like ours.

God is calling.  He is recruiting people to become powerful conduits who display miracle healing power and cast out devils.  They will do things we have not seen in decades.  They will walk in power most have never seen.   They will hold rallies in the worst dens of wickedness and pull treasures out of darkness.  The ground is moving.  The stirring is getting stronger every moment.

Intercessors are honing their gifts and will soon pray with unequalled power.  Prophets are emerging with the true counsel of God and not “prophetic” money schemes.

The real is about to swallow the unreal.  A remnant that will not break ranks—settle for human accolades, take bribes, or speak buzz words—is on the horizon.

This is what is happening and what we should do about it.

THE LAS VEGAS MASSACRE

Today we are processing a nameless horror.  The streets of Las Vegas are drenched in innocent blood.  Everything else should pale in significance.

The man who killed at least 58 people and injuring 515 when he opened fire on concertgoers Sunday night has been identified as Stephen Paddock

His dead body was discovered by police in a room at the Mandalay Bay Resort after he took his own life, with ‘over 10 rifles’ discovered on the scene.

It is time to have a long, loud cry.  It is—as the book of Ecclesiastes says—a time to mourn.

Even so, the usual suspects will disgrace themselves.   They will rub salt of the wounds of those who have lost children, parents, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, close relatives and dear friends.  Please…somebody shut these people up!

Grief counsellors will dispense trite psycho-babble.  Their advice will harp on environmental factors to help explain this mad man’s behavior.

Vacuous theologians who will tell us God has a plan in all of this.

Doomsday prophets will spew venom saying, “see, I told you so, this is God judging America.”

Some will politicize this massacre.  Oh wait, they already have:

-CNN’s Jeff Zeleny, inexplicably pointed out Monday after the Las Vegas shooting that many country music fans are likely Trump supporters.

-Hillary Clinton said, “Imagine if he had a silencer.”  Displaying a remarkable ignorance of how rifles work at a time when no one should be talking about how guns work.

– Congressional Democrats chose not to wait for all the facts to come in before immediately pushing for increased gun control measures.   Instead of waiting, out of respect for their loss, these hacks turned them into a political football for their agenda.

-CBS fired one of the company’s top lawyers– Hayley Geftman-Gold—after she said she is “not even sympathetic” to victims of the Las Vegas shooting because “country music fans often are Republican,” (There are no words for how low this is.)

The short supply of comfort, decency, and sanity are a testament to how degraded America has become.   But that too is for another time.

The families and friends of those murdered should not be in the middle of religious, psychological or political debates.  They should not be click bait for internet trolls.  This behavior is beyond disgusting.

What then, do they need to hear?

They need to hear us say that we know this is an unspeakable loss and tragedy.  It is a loss that cannot be calculated.  Not a day will go by for the rest of their life where they will not feel the loss.  It is an insult not to realize this.  We must, as the Word of God says, “weep with them that weep.”  Jesus wept at the grave of Lazarus—feeling the sorrow of Martha and Mary—even though He would raise Lazarus from the dead.

We must tell them that we do not know how they feel.  How can we?  Even those of us who have suffered great loss cannot possibly say we know how this horror is crashing into their souls.  We must tell them how sorry we are for a loss we can’t imagine.

God didn’t do this.  Telling them this is the hardest part.  Jesus settled the question when He instructed us on how to pray: “Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.”  These words presuppose that, in many ways, and in many situations, God’s will is not being done on Earth.

We must let them express their anger toward God but we must not discredit God.  They will soon be reaching out to Him.  We cannot cut off that lifeline.

Lastly, we must admit the existence of evil.  This man chose evil.  He willingly surrendered to the dark undertow of evil.  Don’t blame his upbringing.  Plenty of us have had horrendous childhoods and didn’t resort to mass murder.  This was pure evil.

For me to appropriate this massacre as a sermon on America’s decadence would also be wrong.  That comes later.  The right thing to do is for the nation to wrap its collective arms around these innocent people in the grip of unrelenting sadness and grief.

As the Desert News said, “Even if citizens and politicians cannot find common ground on political issues, they can search out common ground in the manner they engage with each other. For now, the nation can unite in prayer and care for victims and their families. They can support those who mourn the loss of loved ones and they can try to bring about greater peace even amidst the chaos caused by such unconscionable evil.”  Amen
