How, despite everything, you can carve out an amazing life now

By Mario Murillo

Almost everything today screams fear.  Our minds are battlefields…modern life keeps lobbing grenades of panic and dread.  The overwhelming message of today is: true happiness and fulfillment are no longer possible…don’t try to thrive, just survive.

It’s time to make a defiant declaration: Despite everything, you can carve out an amazing life.  What, in this mess?  Yes…in this very mess.

My title says DESPITE EVERYTHING.  That is the central promise of this message. Something amazing can bulldoze the walls of despair and clear a path to an amazing life…even now.

(This message is inspired by a sermon that I preached on Thursday August 27th in the Branson Outbreak.  The visitation of God in Branson continues to boggle our minds.  In fact, it is, itself, proof of what I am trying to tell you about life today.  The Branson Outbreak is defying every law except the law of gravity…and it would not surprise me if people started floating in the air.)

There are many opinions about how much life a Christian can actually have today.  The opinions run the gamut.   One extreme is the teaching that we are in the great tribulation and we must buy food and equipment and hide ourselves.  I disagree with this teaching …(although; it might be wise to have some extra provisions on hand because markets will get hit.)  This puts the church on the defensive at the very moment she should be most visible and engaged in a great Gospel offensive.

The other extreme is denial.  In this teaching, everything is a preachy, protestant-panacea. With all due respect, I disagree with Joel Osteen.  You cannot have your best life now—unless, as John MacArthur observed—you are going to hell.

Heaven is where you have your best life—earth is where you have an amazing life.

There is a galactic difference between seeking an amazing life and a “best’ life.  If your idea of an amazing life is to live without cares or challenges then let’s stop wasting each other’s time—you will get nothing out of this article.

Amazing means: causing great surprise or wonder.  That’s it!  It is a life that blasts through limits.  It is a life that does exactly what everybody said could not be done.

The Bible teems with examples of amazing lives:

-When the last spark of hope died for the slaves in Egypt–Moses saw the burning bush.

-When the world was strangling in global famine–Joseph had already stored up mountains of grain.

-When love and morality were at their lowest ebb–we find the love story of Ruth and Boaz.

-At the moment of total despair–Esther brought deliverance.

-When the Church in Acts was being destroyed–a laser knocks Saul of Tarsus down on the road to Damascus.

They all lived opposite the limits of their era.  They brought surprise and wonder.

Here is how you start their brand of an amazing life

1. Dwell: Your amazing life begins by making God your dwelling place. Psalm 91: 1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” 3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence.  7 A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. 9 Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, 10 No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;11 For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.”

The most powerful phrase is “because you made God…your dwelling place.”  The unbreakable bond created by the decision to dwell in God reduces stress, neutralizes terrifying images and sets you free to do impossible things.

Isaiah 26: 20 Come, my people, enter your chambers, and shut your doors behind you; Hide yourself, as it were, for a little moment, until the indignation is past.  21 For behold, the LORD comes out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity; the earth will also disclose her blood, and will no more cover her slain.”

Again, you see a clear call to enter, shut the door and hide in God during times of distress.

Proverbs 18:10 “The name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe.”

Enter the strong tower!  There awaits you a supernatural sense of safety where great plans are created.  From the repose of this stronghold you plan without panic, you move forward without distraction, and you know you will finish strong.

2 Discern: Satan has practiced telling lies for thousands of years.  We know from scripture that in the last days Satan will sense his doom and break out in a frenzy of deception.

Everywhere you look you see believers who have been fooled, who have been distracted and who have fallen into traps.  False prophets are everywhere.  Paralyzing images from fear mongers have taken many believers out of commission.

Jesus solemnly warned his followers saying: “take heed that no one deceives you.”  You can be fooled off the front line.  You can be fooled out of your destiny.

Isaiah 8:12 “Do not say, ‘A conspiracy,’ Concerning all that this people call a conspiracy, Nor be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled. 13 The Lord of hosts, Him you shall hallow; Let Him be your fear, And let Him be your dread. 14 He will be as a sanctuary,

From your dwelling place in God you see (discern) lies.  You will not chase a rumor.  You see through the tricks and traps.  You will not stop vital activities.  You will keep moving forward.

3Deliver: You see that your real reason for being here is to destroy the works of the Devil. This final point is so urgent that I want to take extra care to make my point.  Everything about the Christian Faith is rooted in unselfish service.  When that focus is lost, the church is overrun by deception, division, and weakness.   You would be unstoppable if you left all of your sense of reward to your future in heaven, and only saw yourself here and now as a deliverer.

Ministers fall into two categories: enablers or equippers.

-Enablers lull believers into emotional dependency and selfishness.  If a pastor gets you to continually look inward it can be disaster.

-Equippers love people into strength, power and action.  Under their influence, you will soon be out ministering.  You will activate your gifts.

The greatest need in the American church is a military grade mindset.  You are a soldier bent on victory. You are not a patient bent on recovery.  The soldier is not seeking comfort and ease.  They relish combat and triumph on the battlefield.

The sooner you realize that you are here to liberate others, the sooner you will stop being afraid and confused.  You will stop seeking the false comfort of a “best” life, and you will embrace the excitement, and yes, the danger of an amazing life.  God is hiring–there is no shortage of wages for the soldiers who renounce all to destroy the works of the devil.

THE WILLIAM BRANHAM MOMENT

The William Branham Moment

The William Branham Moment

By Mario Murillo

William Branham shocked the world by ripping the thin veil between science and the supernatural.  His ministry did not just bless…in many instances, it terrified.

In Los Angeles, a man with cancer stood in the healing line for hours.  While waiting, he witnessed every kind of healing imaginable.  However, when it was his turn for prayer the evangelist refused.  Indignant, the man demanded to know why.   Branham said, “You don’t want me to tell you.”  The man was now furious and refused to leave without an answer.   “You are sleeping with your secretary,” said the evangelist.  With that, the man dropped his head and rushed out of the meeting.

William Branham was an answer to desperate prayer and an act of love by God the Father.   The Pentecostal movement was dying because of infighting and immorality.

Divine healing had fallen into disrepute.  Meetings were often fraught with emotionalism.  Charlatans whipped audiences into frenzies.  Most healing testimonies were sketchy at best.

Things were also bad outside the church.  America was in the grip of fear of nuclear war.  Psychiatry was replacing faith.  A whole generation was racing away from God.   Preachers were at a loss about what to do about it.

Bran 1

Today, the Spirit-filled movement finds itself in the same predicament.  Once again, we are mired by division and emotionalism.   Only this time it is much, much worse…I’ll tell you more about that later.

1946: Enter William Branham.  The atmosphere is low key.  There is no attempt to manipulate the people.  Branham tells the audience when the angel of the Lord is present—a statement that should sound preposterous, except that astounding things start happening.

Oral Roberts once told me, “There were no hard cases for Branham while he was enveloped by the anointing.”  Growths vanished, lifeless limbs awakened, blind eyes opened.

American historian, David Edwin Harrell Jr. described Branham as:

An unlikely leader….his preaching was halting and simple beyond belief. But William Branham became a prophet to a generation. A small, meek, middle-aged man with piercing eyes, he held audiences spellbound with tales of constant communication with God and angels. Night after night, before thousands of awed believers he discerned the diseases of the sick and pronounced them healed.

Like few men have ever been endowed with the raw supernatural power of William Branham.  There, for the entire world to see–for medical science to test, were signs and wonders that were incontrovertible.

Bran 4 copy

Branham’s innocence and simplicity would have been his demise had it not been for Gordon Lindsay.  Harrell said of Gordon Lindsay, “. . . more than any other man, [he] brought system and unity . . . contributing an orderly mind, keen business sense, boundless energy, badly needed literary skills and an ecumenical spirit.”

Together, Branham and Lindsay were used of God to birth an era.   A young Oral Roberts went to Kansas City to hear Branham.  The experience led him to resign his church in Enid, Oklahoma and obey God’s mandate to “take my healing power to your generation.”

In Portland, Oregon, T.L. Osborn sat transfixed by the word of the Lord from Branham.  This simple sentence from the lips of Branham launched Osborn: “God the Father heals the sick to prove that He raised His Son Jesus from the dead.

Just being used by God to launch Roberts and Osborn made him a vessel that touched millions.   But more than that…signs and wonders became a standard part of Spirit-filled soul-winning.

Now we have come to this terrible moment for the Pentecostal/Charismatic movement in America.  Compromise has hit us from the most unlikely sources.   A pandemic moral/political cowardice paralyzes our pulpits.  The wholesale removal of freedom of speech and freedom of religion has met only token resistance from “Spirit-filled” pastors.

Today we have widespread reports of “revivals” that are hugely disappointing.  In our heart of hearts we know they are total hype.  Healings are claimed but not confirmed.

We have witnessed the rise of an entire “revival” industry that hawks imaginary authority. People are reveling in spiritual fantasy worlds, blending astral projection and UFOs with Christianity.

Travelling ministries today sell high-pitch ecstasies that promise towering results over the enemy, but deliver zero impact on the culture.

branham-and-roberts copy

I have my suspicions.  I wonder if the voices that scream revival the loudest are simply trying to drown out their own unbelief, or if the abuse of GRACE –that has pastors drinking hard liquor after church–is merely defeatism that says, “What’s the use in trying?”

The times are dark, so dark in fact, that they carry a strange hope.  Maybe we are finally, finally willing to shed the stubborn sins that have imprisoned us in religious irrelevancy and deception.

Perhaps we are witnessing the creation of a positive vacuum in Pentecostals and in society.  This is our best chance to save America.  This vacuum is making Charismatic/Pentecostals replace things. These replacements are the key to power.

A real hunger for truth is replacing political correctness.   Donald Trump is a symptom of widespread anger with political correctness.   We are a fed up culture now.  People agree with Trump about America and that is why all of the criticism the media is throwing at him does not stick.

Many believers are angry with politically correct preaching.  The cry now is, “Quit feeding us junk food!”  We want experience power, not a feel good message.  Look around you… the hunger for truth is rising.

A true desperation is replacing our attitude of entitlement.  Americans know that they are losing their future to our government.  They no longer harbor the fantasy that tells us we’re going to pull out of this just because we are America.

Bran 3

Many Christians realize that they have never known true desperation until now.  They don’t want church to make them feel good anymore, they want church to put them right and make them strong.  They want something real so badly that they will take it straight—not sugar-coated or diluted.

A true spirit of prayer is replacing artificial prayer.   Believers are waking up to the fact that they prayed wrong.  They had agendas in prayer.  Pastors prayed as if prayer was a booster rocket for their pet program.   Prayer is returning to the raw, unconditional surrender that it was supposed to be all along.

The real message here is not the arrival of a man but of an era of explosive miracles.  That is what I am sensing and expecting.   What we have been waiting for will come in an unexpected package—Branham did!

Maybe we have finally reached total desperation.   Maybe now we will trade the unreliable for the undeniable.   Let it be, Oh, God.

WHEN PASTORS TRADE FLEETING GLORY FOR TRUE RICHES

WHEN PASTORS TRADE FLEETING GLORY FOR TRUE RICHES

By Mario Murillo

“For over a thousand years Roman conquerors returning from the wars enjoyed the honor of triumph, a tumultuous parade. The conqueror rode in a triumphal chariot, the dazed prisoners walking in chains before him. And a slave stood behind the conqueror holding a golden crown and whispering in his ear a warning: that all glory is fleeting.”      -Epilogue from the movie Patton.

If only we could hire that slave to stand in the pulpits beside celebrity pastors and whisper, “The glory of a big, powerless church is fleeting. It is vanity to win first prize for fastest growing church and lose a nation in the process.”

While churches tickle the ears of the crowd, our government grinds away at freedom of speech and freedom of religion.  Talk about fleeting glory…what will you do with your mega ministry when it is banned?

The miracle in Yuba City happened because two churches, realizing the utter urgency of a moral awakening in this hour, joined forces.  That is the simple truth!

Yuba 14

The Bridge of Yuba City led by Jim and Kristine Carpenter and Church of Glad Tidings led by Dave and Cheryl Bryan rejected conventional wisdom and acted according to the Kingdom of God.

Have you ever heard of two churches cancelling their Sunday Morning services in order to make a public stand for Christ?  That kind of unselfish love breaks the power of Satan over a region.  However, today, it is roundly rejected as foolishness.

When Pastors Dave and Cheryl Bryan chose to do this, it was a major sacrifice. It takes every last drop of faith to keep a church strong in the Yuba City/Marysville area. They did not make this decision because it was convenient or even practical.  It was a sacrifice based on a passion for God to heal our land.

When Jim and Kristine Carpenter turned their church into an army of workers for Living Proof, there was not a thought toward gaining new members.  They wanted to take new ground for the Kingdom of God.

Let me open my heart wide on the subject of true pastors.  A true pastor pours blood, sweat and tears into a work for God.   Today an honest work for the Lord is often battered, broken and diminished.

Local government diminishes them. The community leaders tell them that schools are off limits.  They want to know your stand on gay marriage.  They hint that you will be penalized for your stand.  Suddenly use permits are hard to get and neighborhoods want you to stay away.

Then, like adding salt to a wound, it stings a true man and woman of God to see large crowds and big money pour effortlessly into religious businesses that hide the Gospel.

It breaks the heart of a true pastor to watch sheep drawn away into a spiritual country club that dumbs down believers and condones immorality.

A vessel of God can feel punished for keeping their integrity.  King David said, “Surely I have cleansed my heart in vain, And washed my hands in innocence. For all day long I have been plagued, and chastened every morning.” Psalm 73:13, 14.

YUba 8

The crowds and the signs and wonders appearing in Yuba City are Living Proof that you get true riches when you hold on to your integrity.

There is one amazing thing that is about to happen.  Pastors will soon see that by seeking to please God rather than man they will gain a massive army that is low maintenance and high impact.

One day God asked Solomon what he wanted.  Solomon asked for wisdom instead of wealth and power.  1 Kings 1:10, “The speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. 11 Then God said to him: ‘Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice, 12 behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you. 13 And I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches and honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the kings all your days. 14 So if you walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days.’”

Pastors Dave and Cheryl Bryan and Jim and Kristine Carpenter have asked for true riches, not fleeting glory.  And God is going to give them everything else besides.

WHEN A MAYOR AND AN EVANGELIST TEAM UP TO IMPACT A CITY

WHEN A MAYOR AND AN EVANGELIST TEAM UP TO IMPACT A CITY

By Mario Murillo

When a Mayor and an evangelist work together copy

John Dukes, Mayor of Yuba City, and I are bound by different covenants.  It is his job to faithfully execute his oath of office.  It is my job to obey a heavenly vision.  We are both servants of God and where our callings meet is in the genuine desire to help Yuba City.

In this current time of national division, it takes courage for any civic leader to declare that the Gospel holds the greatest hope for a community.  John has stood before the crowd night after night to declare his belief in miracles and the power of the Gospel to make a city better.

At no time does he try to divide or abuse his authority as mayor.  He is building a consensus among various groups for the good of the city.  To him, this is a logical part of that goal.

He recognizes, as I do, the fever in government today to silence the benefit of faith in the fight against addiction and crime.  We believe it is time for government to let God work in our nation.  It is insane to ignore the power of God to handle our deepest crisis as a nation.

He and I are taking a bold step of faith.  We are teaming up to prove what Jesus can do for a city.  It is our prayer that the results will be so undeniable that it will help remove the stigma of religion and silence those who hate God in our government.

But the lesson here is not just for anti-God politicians, it is also for Christians.  For reasons that are too numerous to list, many Christians have been afraid to show the power of God to society.

There is a deliberate attempt in these meetings to eschew emotionalism without losing fervor.  We want Jesus to overshadow the method so that people will see miracles in plain view.  We get out of God’s way so that He could demonstrate His love and power in a way that main street will admit…something real is happening…it is the key to our children’s future and our way of life.

Mayor blog 3

We are not here to colonize Yuba City.  We are here to be a helping hand to the downtrodden and forgotten among us.  We have no agenda, just a Savior.  We are to go about doing good deeds.

Healing is one of those good deeds.  A piercing example of this is Peter before the Sanhedrin, after the paralyzed man was healed at the gate, Beautiful.  Acts 4:8, “Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, ‘Rulers of the people and elders of Israel: 9 If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well, 10 let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole.’”

Teaming up for the good of a city is a wonderful thing.  It has already produced important results.  We believe that the best is yet to come.  Please pray for Living Proof Yuba City!

P.S.  We are gearing up for a fresh outreach to Yuba City.  The tent is gone but the fire still burns brightly.  Get ready for the next phase of this miracle of God.  We will be announcing the next series of Living Proof Yuba City very soon.

How to Read the Bible

How to read the Bible

How to Read the Bible

By Donald Grey Barnhouse

Our certainty rests upon the Word of God and upon some of its statements about how

we are to read its pages. An illustration is, perhaps, the best way to come to the heart of

the method. Some years ago I entered the playroom of our home one evening, and found

my two boys at work on a large picture puzzle which had been given one of the members

of the family at Christmas. It was a finely made puzzle, on three-ply wood, beautifully

cut, and among its hundreds of pieces a score or more were designed in the shape of

common things. The little sister, three years old, too young to match the intricately cut

edges of the pieces, had been allowed to pick out those pieces which resembled articles

she knew and arrange them in rows at the edge of the table. She was eager to show me

what she had done. Here was a piece in the shape of a clover leaf; here was an apple, a

wheelbarrow, the letter S, the figure four, an umbrella, a violin and a bird. To her mind

those and the other shaped pieces were the most important things in the puzzle.

To see them, and to identify something that was in her world, made it all very interesting.

To her older brothers, however, the shape of individual pieces was merely incidental.

They knew that the violin would become part of a cloud, that the umbrella would be lost in

the pattern of a lady’s dress, and that the other figures would melt into flower garden and

trees.

Each Verse Has Its Place

This illustration is almost perfect for the student of the Word of God. The unfortunate

person who takes some text by itself and attempts to build a doctrine on it will be in utter

confusion before he has gone very far. Only with this wrong type of Bible reading can

anyone ever come to the absurd conclusion so often expressed, “You can prove anything

by the Bible.”

When, however, the shape of the individual verse is fitted into the whole divine plan

of the revelation of God, the full-rounded, eternal purpose begins to be seen; and the

whole of the Word of God becomes something so stupendous, so eternal, so mightily

divine, that every rising doubt is checked immediately. There comes, then, a knowledge

of the finality of God’s revelation which becomes as much a part of the believer as his

breathing, or his sense of being alive. Any other possibility cannot be entertained even

for a moment. The believer knows that the Bible is the Word of God, even more surely

than he knows that he is alive.

holding Bible up

If we are going to understand the Word of God, we

must have a spiritual attitude toward it. The Lord said

that “the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of

God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know

them, because they arespiritually discerned” (I Corinthians 2:14).

God refuses to reveal Himself to just any casual passer

-by.  The Lord indicated this when He said in the Sermon

on the Mount:“Give not that which is holy unto the dogs,

neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they

trample them under their feet, and turn again and

rend you” (Matthew 7:6).

This same thought must have been in His mind when He prayed, saying, “I thank thee,

O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, be because thou hast hid these things from the wise and

prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy

sight” (Matthew 11:25, 26). The fact that one must have a spiritual attitude that comes

from spiritual life in order to understand the deep things of the Word of God is also the

true meaning of the great verse which we quote in paraphrase: “For whosoever hath [new

life in Christ], to him shall be given [knowledge of the divine plan and revelation], and he

shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not [the new life in Christ], from him

shall be taken away even that [common sense and deep learning that might make him one

of the world’s leaders of the world’s thinking] he hath” (Matthew 13:12).

puzzle

Putting the Puzzle Together

The proper method of Bible study, then, is analogous to the putting together of the

puzzle. For any given doctrinal subject, read the entire volume, selecting every verse that

bears on the truth under study. Put all of these passages together, and the synthesis of

the result is the true Bible doctrine on the question with which you are concerned. A

verse from Moses, and one from Ezekiel, and one from Paul, put side by side, each

illuminating the others, fit into the perfect pattern of the whole design and give the

whole light which God has been pleased to reveal on that particular theme. Taken one

by one, the verses may be no more than mere shapes, meaningless as far as the

over-all purpose of the inspired revelation is concerned. This is why the Lord says that

one of the first principles of Bible study is that no Scripture is of “private interpretation” (II Peter 1:20).

The exegesis of the Greek shows that this verse should not be interpreted to restrict the

right of the private individual to read and understand the Bible for himself.

The Lord says that the anointing by the Spirit renders us capable of understanding, so

that we do not need to have any one teach us (I John 2:27). The existence of teachers by

divine order and arrangement is like the original institution of divorce, not because it was

God’s first choice, but because of the hardness of the hearts of men (Matthew 19:8).

The responsibility for reading and knowing the Word and will of God is upon

every individual, who must find out for himself, conclude what he believes and be

ready to give an answer for the hope that is within him, knowing that he will be

answerable to the Lord for the content of his faith, and that he will not be permitted

to present the excuse that he believed what some church or group of clergy interpreted

for him.

Editior’s note:  Donald Grey Barnhouse Th.D (March 28, 1895 – November 5, 1960), was an American Christian preacher, pastor, theologian, radio pioneer, and writer. He was pastor of the Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from 1927 to his death in 1960. As a pioneer in radio broadcasting, his program, The Bible Study Hour, continues today and is now known as Dr. Barnhouse & the Bible.

Two features of the ministry of the late Dr. Donald Grey Barnhouse made his witness
unique: his tremendous insight into Scripture, and his remarkable ability to bring the
truths he gleaned from his study to the Christian layman in such a way as to make the
Bible come alive. Those who have heard Dr. Barnhouse teach, and those who have read
his writings, can testify that this is true.

WHY YOU SHOULD COME TO THESE NIGHTS IN YUBA CITY

Living proof Yuba City

Why you  should come to these nights in Yuba City

By Mario Murillo

Here is urgent news!  I want you to join me for 4 unforgettable nights of healing miracles.  Let me explain more.

My experience with the power of Christ to heal began in the most unlikely place and at the most unpromising time.   This was not a backwater encounter among the uneducated.   It was in the light of day on the campus of the University of California at Berkeley during the free speech movement.

Jesus himself said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father”-John 14:12.   Those words haunted me and challenged me to answer one of the greatest questions I would ever ask myself:  How do I reach this campus?

What happened to me next did not just breakthrough on campus, but it ended up taking me around the world declaring the greatest news that mankind has ever heard.  There is not enough room here to give you a detailed account of how the healings began.

What matters right now is that you can receive healing and you can satisfy your soul about the reality of God.

I am not asking you to embrace dead religion or a cult.  Reality does not need hype or manipulation.  I am asking you to trade just one night of your life to open your heart to God and let Him give you a miracle inside and out.

new-year copy

Not only will Living Proof amaze and liberate you but it will be the best thing possible for someone you care about who battling not just sickness but life itself.  Bring someone to this night!  Why not? If someone you love is suffering for any reason, bring them and let us pray for them to receive a miracle.  Think of all that they have endured to try to get well.  Instead of waiting for hours in a cold atmosphere let them experience a loving, joyous, faith-filled atmosphere.

If someone you know is unchurched and is honestly seeking to know that God is real, bring them.  My message each night will not just touch the needs of the body but also of the soul.  This is a perfect opportunity for them to receive a miracle in their soul.

You should come if you are a Christian who yearns for revival in Northern California.  The impact of these nights will not end with just healing miracles.  An army of love and light is forming from many churches in this region who are seeking an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.  It is our deepest wish and expectation that the power of this night will flow out to the entire North Valley area.

IT ALL ADDS UP TO A SIMPLE FACT:  THESE ARE NIGHTS YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS AND YOU WILL BE THANKFUL FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE THAT YOU MADE THE EFFORT TO EXPERIENCE.

50 Shades of Grace

Fifty Shades of Grace

By Mario Murillo

“On April 7, 1933, anti-Semitism officially became German government policy when Jews were banned from civil service. This was known as the “Aryan Clause”. Six days before that, there was a boycott of Jewish merchants. The Aryan Clause directly affected the German church because non-Aryans were not only baptized members of the church, but some also held offices in the church. Thus, the door was wide open for discrimination and rejection even by fellow Christians.”

“Later that month, Bonhoeffer addressed a group of pastors with an essay entitled: “The Church and the Jewish Question.” In this essay, Bonhoeffer argued that the church had the right to question and rebuke the state. Further, the church must stand up for the rights of victims of injustice regardless of their religious background. Even further, Bonhoeffer advocated the possibility of jamming the spokes of the wheel of the state. In other words, the church in Germany must be open to the possibility of taking action on behalf of the Jewish people.”  – bonhoefferblog

hitler1

By 1939 Hitler completed a long incremental takeover of Germany.  He kept asking for and getting power because the nation was enthralled and the church was apathetic.  “How could the Church in Germany sit back and allow this to happen?” that question was posed to Bonhoeffer by American Pastors at the time.  His answer was: “the teaching of cheap grace.”

Observe the following quotes:

Here is what Joseph Prince said about Grace:  “His grace is cheapened when you think that He has only forgiven you of your sins up to the time you got saved, and after that point, you have to depend on your confession of sins to be forgiven. God’s forgiveness is not given in installments.”

Now listen to Dietrich Bonhoeffer:Cheap grace is the grace we bestow on ourselves. Cheap grace is the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance, baptism without church discipline, Communion without confession…Cheap grace is grace without discipleship, grace without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ, living and incarnate.”

There is no confusion in this debate:  Prince says that repenting of sins that you have committed after you are saved “cheapens grace.”  Bonhoeffer says that offering forgiveness without repentance is “cheap grace.”how

Who are you going to believe?   Will you believe Dietrich Bonhoeffer or Joseph Prince?   I am going to take the word of the man whose reality in God empowered him to stand up to Adolf Hitler.

I do not mean to scare you but history is repeating itself in eerie and vivid detail.   Once again a nation hates Jews…specifically it  hates Israel. Once again a government leader is taking power and expanding his control over the life of its citizens.  (Its latest takeover is the internet).

Once again, and this is a gigantic once again… the church is silent and coincidently, its most popular doctrine is grace.  Not everyone buys into Prince’s hyper-grace but there are 50 shades of grace that permeate millions of Christians.  These shades of grace have dulled our natural sense of duty and our capacity to feel outrage in precisely the same way that the German Church was lulled to sleep.

Let me put it another way: You know how you feel when Al Sharpton hustles the notion that we are “institutionally racist?”  You sit there listening to him and you know that no racist nation could have elected and reelected an African American president.   Sharpton has to keep narrative alive, it’s his cash cow.

I feel the same way when I hear our pulpits continually railing against “conditional love” and “performance Christianity” as if our churches overflowed with people repenting too much or overdoing holiness.  I believe that the cheap grace narrative is kept alive on life support for the money.

The American Church is not an overheating engine of dedication and sacrifice.  All too often, it is a listless, flabby, biblically illiterate, club of moody consumers that hold pastors hostage to entitlement sermons.

This is why when the Obama Anti-Christ fire drill arrived we failed miserably.  We are still failing.  I have no doubt that Obama himself shakes his head at what the church has allowed him to do.

Cheap grace will ultimately fail when it is needed most because it causes malnutrition.  David Wilkerson said “…Yet, tragically, many today still eat at the table of demons, serving their own lustful appetites, and then attempt to come to the Lord’s table and feast with the righteous. This leads only to spiritual sickness and death because these deceived ones do not discern the true Bread of God. These sickly sheep have become so spiritually weak and diseased by sin that they cannot eat strong meat. Instead, they prefer to nibble at the husks of ear-tickling teachings. They gravitate toward lightness and entertainment rather than the genuine Word. Their spiritual appetites have become dull as a result of eating too much junk food.”

The fact is that I love Grace, the real Grace of God: The Grace that buckles my knees with gratitude and makes me hate sin more than nuclear waste.   I yearn not for a shade of grace but the blazing sun of it!

How right was the author of Amazing Grace?   “Twas grace that taught my heart to fear.”   First Grace stuns us with what God did for us and yes we should feel a towering awe and fear of the mighty love of God.  Then the song writer says, “And grace my fear relieved.”  Relief comes from repentance, not from avoiding it!

Finally, the writer says, “how precious did that Grace appear, the hour I first believed.”  When you experience true Grace it becomes priceless to you.  You will want to give your all to host it.  You will flee wickedness with unbridled zeal.

Is there hope in all of this mess?  You better believe it!  It is this Amazing Grace that is about to call people to explosive effectiveness against evil.  There is a growing army of believers who are sick to death of the compromise and they are pressing into God.   The Lord of Lords by the Holy Spirit has issued the order to arm and anoint a new generation of preachers and believers against this horde of devils that is choking the life out of America.

Out of every quarter of America a signal is going out!  “Come out from among them and be separate.”  Jehovah is empowering yea, inflaming soldiers who will not break ranks and will see signs and wonders that even transcend what the Book of Acts Church experienced.  Get ready for the preachers who know God and create lethal disciples!  Men and women are emerging who will pay the price for true conversions, true miracles and true revival!
