ENTITLEMENT AND ESCAPISM

Something is coming and the church is not ready. In recent days God has been trying to warn the American church about what is coming, but, what have we done with these warnings?

I heard one preacher exclaim, “Teaching that anything bad is coming, is defeatism.” He refused to give his children a defeatist world view. What he thinks is love is the ultimate abuse. His children will not be ready.

It’s not as if God hasn’t warned the American church that perilous times are coming. One choice instrument was David Wilkerson. Many listened to his predictions, but many others wrote him off as an angry prophet.

I dare you to reread his words, go back and watch his videos, they are still on YouTube. David will come across completely different to you now. Now that libraries are bringing in drag queens to read to children. Now that abortion is no longer just a ‘right,’ but a cause for celebration. Now that our halls of power are sewers of falsehood, betrayal, ambition, greed, and lust, and now that the very fabric of civilized society is unraveling.

I dare you to call him legalistic, now that you can see that exactly what he predicted is happening.  Now that you see churches have abandoned the Bible.  Now that every day you hear of one more minister condoning materialism and promoting a ‘cheap grace’ that covers lust. Disdaining holiness and denying the existence of Hell. Just as he predicted, there is an epidemic of preachers who are addicted to drugs, alcohol, and pornography.

Our young daughters have unwelcome transgender visitors in the girl’s restroom at school.  We are a nation of drug addicts. Tens of thousands die every year from opioids.

The bane of Modern Christianity can be summed up in just 2 words: Entitlement and Escapism.

Go back with me to a time before all this madness, and see when a sense of entitlement began to infect the church.

No one got saved in the early church because they were promised a lavish life. Each convert knew from the jump they would pay a price for following Jesus. They embraced Christ because something real happened to them. They knew—beyond knowing—that He was the Truth and the Life.  Knowing Him was infinitely worth the cost. All they wanted was Jesus.

It is ironic that we tend to feel sorry for them, when in fact they would pity us! Yes, they were persecuted, but God was real in them. Their clarity unlocked something most of us do not have: inexpressible peace and joy.

Entitlement rolled into church like a Trojan horse. Certain preachers, like all good marketers, considered true discipleship a hard sell, so they replaced it with perks, inducements and flattery. Church became one giant participation trophy. The unspoken boast was, “What have we to do with self-denial? What have we to prepare for?” We as American Christians became too good for suffering. That was for other people, in other nations.

What edge did believers in the first century have over us? A massive one. They could survive anything that they encountered, whereas many today will be taken out the moment something happens that their pastor said God would never let happen.

Since ancient Christians expected to suffer, suffering never threw them for a loop. It never dawned on them that they would escape trials and tribulations. Because of that, they had a singular power that we don’t: the power to glory and thrive in evil times.  Compare that with today’s Christian whose idea of spiritual warfare is claiming a parking space.

This is the person Jesus warned us about in Matthew 13:20, “But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.”

The shocking thing will not just be how many entitled believers will stumble, but how little it will take to make them stumble.

Now let’s talk about escapism. The world that vessels like Billy Graham, Oral Roberts, Kenneth Hagin, Steve Hill, and yes, David Wilkerson warned us about is here. The world that your favorite pulpit babysitter promised would never come—came anyway.

We didn’t escape. We have already witnessed this mass tragedy. Life has taken a turn in these United States that many churchgoers never believed could or would happen. There has been a falling away: because so many were ignorant, so many were offended.

Even many of the Christians who remained faithful, express their escapist denial in many ways. Instead of searching the scriptures for truth, they delve even deeper into teachings that now look silly. They want more materialism; they want more entitlement; they plunge into more false teachings and false ways. They go heavier into emotionalism. Their escapism is expressed in a sanctimonious tone, and then they lie about their reasons for believing they will escape all suffering.  They say we must stay out of politics and not choose sides, even as it has become undeniable that we must take a stand. Instead, they bury their head in the sand and are oblivious as evil takes away our freedom and our children’s future.

Escapism is what gives them a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof. Denial is why they imitate New Age teachings and make prophecy into a kind of game. But David Wilkerson also saw something else: A fresh and mighty move of the Spirit. He saw Jesus pulling people aside to enter into a close relationship with Him, and to instill in them the power needed to save this nation.  He said, “God is revealing to all praying people that a glorious new work of the Spirit is about to break forth. God is going to shake everything that can be shaken. He will tear down the old political, backslidden, ecclesiastical system. He will disown the formal, super-church structure. He will chase out of His presence all those who are engaging in self-promoting ministries.”

Many will fall, but many will rise to levels of power and usefulness that are astounding. God not only knew the insanity of today was coming—He took steps to prepare a special relationship that would produce special powers in His Children.  You already know who you are.

God is taking you aside to give you nation-saving power and skills. All glory to His Name!

GROUND ZERO CHURCHES

Right before our eyes, the church is changing. The great focus of the soul-searching taking place in our lifetime is happening right now, and it is happening in mega-churches. Many of these super-congregations are realizing that they have reached the limits of their relevance to Americans.

Many leaders are coming to this shocking conclusion: Satan has done a number on us. Many now say the devil used a counterfeit church-growth model to deceive the gullible and discourage the faithful.   When righteous pastors looked at the staggering growth of Seeker Churches, they felt overwhelmed and even wounded.  They wondered, “What am I doing wrong?  Am I a fool to hold on to my integrity?”

Growth seminars have proliferated all over America and they have preyed on weak Pastors. David Wilkerson said, “Ministers from small churches are being told, in so many words, ‘Attend this mega-church pastor’s seminar, and you will find the keys to success. You‘ll eventually have a church as big as his.’”

Yet these ‘keys to success’ are only causing pastors to become more discouraged. They end up being convinced that they are failures if they do not see spectacular growth.  They tell me, “I am not doing anything significant for God. He just isn’t using me.”

Many mega church experts now admit that ‘making nice’ with secular America did not have any impact on the spread of violence, perversion, and atheism.  To their dismay, they now confess that these things have greatly accelerated on their watch.  After our complete makeover and compromise of the Gospel message, society ended up hating us even more.

We have been trashed, bashed, and left for dead.  Now it is time for the Body of Christ to push back on all of the lies, threats, and ominous predictions about our demise.  America is ripe for the church to make a massive comeback.  You heard me, a massive comeback!

I know that all the experts are saying that the Church has lost America and will never get it back.  These kinds of lies have made the rounds for centuries.  Usually, they pronounce that the church is dead—right before a major revival takes place.  The last time I saw it was when the “God is dead” movement swept America in the 1960’s—only to be swallowed up by the Jesus Movement.

To see this take place we will need a new Church model, one that looks nothing like what we see today.   We need ‘Ground Zero Churches.’

Christian leader: take heed. I am pleading with you to consider a dynamic option for your church.  I want you to consider becoming a Ground Zero Church. That consists of a strong and healthy church which grows without stress, compromise, endless striving, or vicious competition.

Let’s define a Ground Zero Church.  They are the epicenter for God’s dealing with a specific region. They are a body of believers that have made the supreme covenant with God.  Here are the features of a Ground Zero Church:

1. They believe that God can do it here.  I wonder what would happen if, let’s say, we got a jumbo jet packed full of fired up Bible College students on their way to the mission field. We take off out of New York’s Kennedy Airport, headed for a country somewhere overseas.  Instead, we order the pilot to make very wide circles over the Atlantic for hours, finally landing somewhere in New Jersey.  As soon as we get off, we are hustled into vans and dropped in New York City.

I am convinced that they will raise the dead, save thousands, and deliver many from demonic oppression, and signs and wonders will abound— just because they think they are overseas.

Many Christians have deluded themselves into thinking that the reason miracles are not happening in America today is because the poor in foreign nations have a more simple faith. They think Americans are just ‘too sophisticated’ to respond.  The Bible paints a much different picture.  In Acts, God knocked Saul of Tarsus, the zealot-intellectual-Pharisee, flat on the ground.  He became the Apostle Paul, the chief architect of the New Testament Church.  And when the Holy Spirit first fell upon the Gentiles, it was in the house of Cornelius, a Roman Centurion, a powerful man of wealth and influence.

 2. Ground Zero Churches allow the Holy Spirit to transform their congregation into a core zone of irresistible glory:  Paul described the overpowering effect a church gathering could have on the outside world: 24 “But if all of you prophesy, and an unbeliever or an uninformed person comes in, he is convinced by all, he is convicted by all. 25 And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed; and so, falling down on his face, he will worship God and report that God is truly among you.” (1 Corinthians 14:24-25)

Matthew Henry commented on these verses, “God can, when he pleases, strike awe upon the worst of men, by the tokens of his presence in the assemblies of the faithful, and force them to acknowledge that God is with them of a truth.”

There are many examples of places where the overwhelming presence of God dropped hardened sinners to their knees.

-A reporter from London came to Wales to investigate the Welsh revival.  The presence he felt when he entered Wales shocked him. He exclaimed, “This is a nation haunted by God!”

-During the Great Awakening, hardened sailors on clipper ships reported being seized with conviction of sin when they entered certain zones off the American coast.

-When Jonathan “Praying” Hyde walked past the door to the bar at a hotel, sinners dropped off of their bar stools onto their knees and began weeping under the powerful conviction of the Holy Spirit.

-There are many true stories about revivals that took place in churches where the presence of God was so powerful that people who were just driving past the church would find their cars turning into the parking lot on their own. When the drivers got out, they were so overpowered by the Holy Spirit that they practically had to crawl to the door of the church. They would come, weeping, down to the altar to get saved.

3. Ground Zero Churches pull the trigger that God has hidden in their culture.

Throughout history, obedient missionaries who listened to God and observed the way God had prepared a culture through history, detonated revivals.  This gave them a supernatural relevance:

-700 B.C. a plague kills one third of the population of Athens.  Epimenides, a teacher who believed in the one true God, orders the city leaders to sacrifice prize rams and the plague stops.  They build an altar to the unknown God.  Paul pulls the trigger 744 years later, in Acts 17:23, “I even noticed that you have an altar to the unknown God.  He Whom you ignorantly worship, I openly proclaim!”

-Koreans had a name for God that did not come from any pagan religion.  White missionaries refused to call God by that Korean name, thinking it would be a compromise.  Finally, while in prayer, one of the missionaries realized that this name was the result of the dealing of God long ago in Korean history. The moment that He called God by that Korean name, revival exploded.

-The Lihue Indians wore knots of rope around their wrists.  A missionary from England, realizing that this was a symbol for their slavery to sin, preached that Christ cut these rope bands when He died on the cross.  Pandemonium struck, as tens of thousands of the Lihue started sobbing and begging to have their bands cut off.

We cannot fear what our culture looks like right now.  The Holy Spirit already has a message and a plan that is uniquely designed for this present darkness.  Seek the Lord and believe that He not only wants to, but that He will change your church into a Ground Zero Church, and save this lost nation of ours.

In our Tent: the story of the miracle God will bring to California

Over one million Californians are about to get this message: In our Tent, the chains of sickness, addiction, and despair are broken. In our Tent, the rules of the street die. In our Tent, you will find the life you were born to live.

Five cities: Chico, Roseville, Modesto, Fresno, and Bakersfield will be the focus of God’s love and power in 2020. An army of prayer warriors is about to launch targeted intercession to break the power of Satan. Soldiers are in training to put boots on the ground. These prayer-covered workers will soon touch California’s most forsaken: from homeless camps, to crack houses—everyone, from the down-and-out to the up-and-in will receive our witness.  Our workers will not bring just food and clothing, but will bring the anointing, to heal and to set captives free.

Now, I must tell you about the battlefield.  What the Elitist Left Regime has done to the people of California will stand as a disgrace for the ages to come. California is the poster-child for why America must defeat Leftist ideology.

My hometown is a prime example. God made San Francisco beautiful, but the Left has made her ugly.

I have fond memories of San Francisco—the one I knew as a child.  Today, you can’t walk on the streets anywhere without the risk of stepping on human waste, a dirty needle, or being physically attacked.

As a child I would go to Market Street to watch the Easter Parade, and on New Year’s Eve, families enjoyed the fireworks. Today, Market Street is a living nightmare.

For a mile in front of what once were elegant stores, now lawn chairs sit, filled with people who look half dead. The smoke from legalized marijuana is mixed with city-provided needles for drug addicts who line the streets. Alcohol is rampant and is mingled with physical degradation, creating a cloud with the stench of death.  And you know what? The current District Attorney believes that San Francisco is still not liberal enough.

The streets of Los Angeles are an apocalypse of around 45,000 gang members. There are nearly 60,000 homeless people. For the first time in history they found leprosy on the streets of Los Angeles. They have spent a billion dollars on this crisis, but to no avail. It is believed that over 1,000 homeless people have died on the streets of Los Angeles.

And still, local Democrats want more illegals to come. They want to provide free services to them, but are utterly failing to take care of their own citizens.  L.A. and S.F. are ‘sanctuary cities’?  Sanctuaries from what?

This dystopian landscape of California is the legacy of the Democrat Party. Decades of abuse and depraved thinking have unleashed this misery. The party has incorporated atheism into their platform, and the result is a disaster for the cities they control.

While I was in the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, N.C. the exhibit of Billy preaching in the Eastern Bloc countries brought me to tears. Communism fell in these nations, not long after Billy preached there. Not only that, but it fell in the exact same order of Billy’s visits. I thought what a miracle

Then I thought why not such a miracle for California? Los Angeles has a great store of the buried treasure of past revivals. From here emerged the greatest outpouring since the Book of Acts: Azusa Street. The greatest evangelists of the 20th Century have held meetings here: from Aimee McPherson to Billy Graham. From here, the greatest youth revival in American history was born—the Jesus People Movement.

Tectonic plates push against each other with unimaginable force, causing earthquakes in California. In the same way, spiritual tectonic plates of good and evil are colliding, with even greater force. Something has got to give. The miracle lies in the great Central Valley.

Highway 99 is our assignment, for a reason. Millions who live along this corridor have been uniquely punished by the government. The quality of life has dropped drastically. But the big difference is that Central Valley families haven’t bought into the agenda of the radical Left Coast. Something is stirring here!

I hear the rumble in this valley of millions who are sick to death of the whole mess. They don’t want what their kids are being taught in these schools. They don’t want drag queens reading to their children. They don’t want any part of the medicated, mentally dulled elites who compose the government of California. They don’t want this disaster to continue. They yearn for hope.

It is like the earthquake of Holy Spirit power that struck Israel when John the Baptist and Jesus Christ arrived. Their message of the kingdom of God revolutionized Israel. When the leaders sought an answer for the sudden stampede toward righteousness, Jesus explained, “From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force” (Matthew 11:12).

You are the heart of this mass invasion along Highway 99 in California. Your prayers, support and love have taken on muscle. Demons are going to feel the impact of your faith. The diseases that are oppressing many are going to be healed because of your partnership. Every soul saved under this Tent is part of your harvest.

I have never been more proud of my fellow warriors in the Central Valley of California. I thank God for Frank Saldana and the core of our elite warriors at Inner City Action. I thank God for Pastor Jim and Kristine Carpenter from The Bridge in Marysville. I give God the glory for Pastor A. J. and Claudia Nunez from Covenant Worship Center in Fresno. I am honored to have the help of Bishop Steve and Kelly Perea from Christian Worship Center in Manteca.  There are so many more I could name, but please forgive me if I failed to mention anyone.

Look at the graphic that shows every tent crusade for Living Proof California. Let it fill you with expectation and a spirit of prayer! Can you feel the urgency of this tour?  Does your spirit witness to the rightness of what we are about to do?

I want you to notice the Night of Miracles that we have planned. These are nights we go into the cities where the Tent will soon come. On these nights people get a taste of the fire and supernatural power that will be in the Tent a few weeks later.

How can I help but put out a call for soldiers to rally to this divine cause? Let God speak to your heart! There is a place here for you. There is a miracle waiting here for you. You will see God use you in a way you have never imagined. No matter what the level of power of your gift, let me tell you, it will go to a new level.  Do you fear witnessing? I assure you that an inner fire will make you as bold as a lion. Not only that, you will return rejoicing over the lives God has used you to save. Come along beside me and become the Christian warrior you never imagined you could be.

I can’t overstate the urgency of prayer. Please, begin praying for us right now. Ancient devils control these communities and they will not easily let go. It will take fasting and prayer. It will take gut wrenching intercession. No one knows better than Satan what a Central Valley Awakening will do to the rest of America. But God is infinitely greater than Satan.

God will give us the breakthrough. He will give us the victory!

Join us for the very first event in Chico. Here’s a  one minute video invitation from Mario

Will Supporting Trump Ruin my Witness?

One of the arguments made by the editor of Christianity Today Magazine was that supporting Trump ruined our witness to America. No one yearns to win souls more than I do, therefore, I will tackle this argument, beginning with a story that seems to be analogous.

After the United States Army liberated the German concentration camps, General Eisenhower viewed the incomprehensible horror. His reaction was to make every soldier in the area come and see it for themselves.

When he was asked why he had subjected these men to such savagery and why he forced them to view images which they could never wash from their minds, he said this, “We are told that the American soldier does not know what he was fighting for. Now, at least he will know what he is fighting against.”

Millions of Christians look at Trump and see a man who is not perfect. He is not their model of a true believer. They reject him because they know what they are striving for: gentleness, civility and increased church attendance. What they do not know is what they are fighting against.

I know this, because whenever they attack Trump they offer no alternative for the office of President. They can’t tell you who else they would rather vote for. Or they assume it doesn’t matter if Democrats win. They only know they are offended by Trump’s behavior. But how does his behavior appear when compared to the horror of what the Left will do to this nation?

No doubt American soldiers had heard of the atrocities committed by Hitler and the Nazis, but they had not witnessed it first-hand. That is, not until they saw with their own eyes the ovens, the mountains of bones, and hundreds of rotting corpses.

Likewise, it is one thing to see leftists selling candles that say “Abortions are magical” and quite another to witness a baby being dismembered in an abortion clinic.  Or to see a baby survive an abortion and then overhear an impossibly inhuman conversation, such as, “We’ll keep it comfortable until the doctor and the mother can decide what to do next.”  How worried are you now, about how ‘rude’ Trump appears?

Does it ruin my altar calls in the tent when I support President Trump? Please, don’t reveal your ignorance if you don’t realize what an inner city is actually like. It is a cruel, disgraceful, soul-crushing place. And it’s the total property and legacy of the Left. They have crushed all decency in every city they control.  Hopes and dreams die daily on an unprecedented scale.

California’s inner cities scream of injustice and abhorrent abuse. Not only is the machinery of government not stopping homelessness—they are actually causing it!

When I stand in the tent and proclaim the miracle of new life in Jesus, I declare the hope, the power, and the love that awaits them. I challenge them to break free. Of course, they need to be freed from sin. They need to be freed from addictions. But they also must be set free from something else.

It’s a funny thing that no one in the church attacked me when I preached against heroin. No one criticized my messages against violent gangs. But when, by the Holy Spirit, I identified a drug worse than meth, which is socialism, and a gang worse than MS-13, the baby slaughtering, corrupt, Left, suddenly I was surrounded by timid souls who tried to hide behind empty platitudes.

Will supporting Trump ruin my witness? Not for the masses who crowd our altars for Jesus. They couldn’t care less about political correctness.

Wake up Christian! Don’t be like those reluctant recruits who served under Patton and hated him because they thought him a crude and nasty leader but they  forgot the monster he was trying to kill. Be honest! Do you not see the blatant abuse of power? Do you not see how power is being centralized under tyrants who hate God, who hate freedom, hate your faith, and want to dominate your children’s future?  Can you not see how vicious they are, how deviant they are and how determined they are to manipulate every aspect of American life?

I never neglect to preach a scripture-laden message to lost souls. They understand what I mean when I tell them to get off drugs. But, I also tell them they need to get out of the mental-slave-plantation of the Left. It’s lukewarm Christians who don’t get it.  Is it because they don’t want to?

You may know what you are fighting for, but I am for Trump because he knows, like I know, what we are all fighting against, and what the stakes are if we lose America.

HELL IS REAL

After Ricky Gervais delivered a truth bomb to the Hollywood elites at the Golden Globe Awards, the Left told him how offended they were. His response was classic. He said, “Just because you are offended doesn’t mean you are right.”

Many Christians do not believe in Hell simply because the idea offends them. However, once again, that doesn’t mean you are right. No matter how much the subject terrifies you—no matter how intensely you reject the thought of Hell, or struggle with the concept, it is not a valid argument to say, “I don’t believe in Hell because the idea stings.”

It is also not a winning argument to say that a God of love would never create a Hell. All you are doing by saying that is making God in your own image. Jesus is the most loving Person Who ever lived, and He spoke of Hell as being real, as recorded in the New Testament, in 15 places. The word “hell” appears 23 times in the KJV.

Neither is it valid to reject eternal punishment by saying it is a myth made up by parents to scare their children into becoming Christians. If a truth is abused by men, that does not make it untrue.

The worst traitor is the preacher who denies the fact of Hell simply to gain wider acceptance. Paul felt that the reality of Hell should intensify our message to the world. He wrote, “Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men…” (2 Corinthians 5:11).

We know that the Holy Spirit is aware of Hell, because Jesus said in John 16:8: “And when He (the Spirit of Truth) has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment…”

The Holy Spirit has prompted me to write to you about Hell because of Rob Bell, a former mega-church pastor who has gained traction because of Oprah Winfrey and CNN. He claims to be a Christian who doesn’t believe in Hell. And, of course, his church is in California.

In my opinion, Rob Bell is not teaching this out of a pure conscience, but to be accepted by the Oprah crowd and those who welcome a watered down Gospel. Furthermore, Rob Bell is not content to disbelieve in Hell, he also wants you and every other born again believer to stop believing in Hell.

He uses a crafty term to get us to reinterpret the Bible. He wrote in his bestselling book, deceptively titled “Love Wins,” that we should not take the Bible literally but “literately.” In other words, he is of a higher intelligence than you and me and can therefore educate us on the proper way to interpret the Bible.

This tendency by the Left and certain evangelical ministers to claim a higher I.Q. than you and me is becoming both common and tedious. You’ll remember Mark Galli, the radical editor of Christianity Today Magazine, spoke about Christians who support Trump. He said Trump supporters didn’t finish college and don’t have jobs. This gave him instant acceptance by CNN and all the other Leftist news outlets.

Look at the verses where Jesus talks clearly and undeniably about Hell:

  • Mat 5:22: “whoever says, ‘You fool!’ Shall be liable to the hell of fire”
  • Mat 8:11-12: He said that the Jews (sons of the kingdom) “will be thrown into outer darkness; there men will weep and gnash their teeth”
  • Mat 13:40: regarding the wheat and the tares: “the angels will gather out of His kingdom all causes of sin and all evildoers, and throw them into the furnace of fire; there men will weep and gnash their teeth”
  • Mat 18:8-9 speaks of being thrown into the eternal fire
  • Mark 9:44 and 48 calls Hell “unquenchable fire”
  • Mat 22:13: in the parable of the wedding feast, the man who lacks the proper garment is “cast into the outer darkness, there men will weep and gnash their teeth”
  • Mat 25:30: the man who buried the talent in the ground is also cast there
  • Mat 25:41: “Depart from Me you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels”
  • Luke 16:22-24: in the parable of the rich man and Lazarus, Jesus describes Hell: 22 “So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 And being in torments in Hell, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame’”

Now that Hell is out of the bag we have to face it. Every preacher must decide where they stand. You either believe Jesus or you believe Rob Bell. Let me explain. C. S. Lewis heard famous philosophers say that Jesus was a great moral teacher, but that He was not the Son of God. Lewis blew that argument to smithereens by explaining that Jesus said He is the Son of God, and if He isn’t the Son of God He was lying. And if He is a liar, He is not a great moral teacher.  Likewise if there is no hell then Jesus is a liar and not the savior of the world.

But if you were to ask me the most terrifying proof verse of Hell I would say it is John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” How can we calculate what it cost God the Father to save us? It was the highest price ever paid for anything. Sometimes the only way to understand the true horror of something is by seeing the extreme measures to which someone is willing to go in order to redeem people from it.

The question when you stand before God will not be, “How can You do this to me?” It will be, “How could you reject so great a salvation again and again, knowing what it cost the Father to give His only Son to die on the cross to save you?”

Hell is real and, thank God, Heaven is too. The way to be saved from Hell is not mysterious. It begins with believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth, as plainly stated in Romans 10:9, “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

The old time preachers are right after all! There is a Heaven to gain and a Hell to shun.  If you have never said a salvation prayer, please, pray:

Lord Jesus, I see You on the cross dying for me. By dying on the cross, You proved Your love for me. By rising from the dead three days later, You proved You have the power to set me free. Thank you for saving me from spending all eternity in Hell. I surrender my will to You. I repent of all my sins. Forgive me and cleanse me. Come and live in my heart. From this day forward, I will make You Lord of my life, and I will follow You for the rest of my life, until the day You call me to Heaven.  Amen

Trump didn’t make the world more dangerous. Obama did.

It started again after Trump ordered terrorist Qasem Soleimani killed.  Critics are falsely accusing Trump of making the world more dangerous.  The truth is, it was Obama—with his foreign policy of weakness and capitulation—that intensified international tensions.

Obama continually gave things away, getting nothing in return but contempt for America.

Trump on the other hand—by refusing to accept anything but victory—defused the danger level of the world.

Obama’s weak approach is the bane of liberal thinking.  Underneath, is the belief that victory is not possible. The best they can hope for is a tenuous treaty that they hope will avoid a confrontation.  Nothing is settled.  The undercurrent of defeatism ran through all of Obama’s policies, and he found a half-cure for everything.

Tragically, the church learned Obama’s way of making things more dangerous.  The trend in church is to get people to like us better.   Ironically, it has only made them hate us more.

Arthur Matthews was an amazing man.  Decades before American Pastors began imitating Obama apology tours, Matthew saw it coming:

“Old Testament examples of prayer at work portray most dramatically for us the believer’s authority over all the power of God’s enemies.  There is a finality that will not be gainsaid in the way the superior strength of alien armies is disposed of as God’s servants. This finality is not seen in the political bargaining that characterizes our day.  Compromises are made, peace treaties are signed, and the peacemakers move to other danger spots; but the fighting still goes on.  Are we allowing our disillusionment with the world’s acclaimed peacemakers to influence our thinking on spiritual warfare?  Are we really convinced our call is to spiritual welfare and peace through victory?”

It’s almost as if he is asking, “Are you acting like Obama in regard to the things of God?”

Christian leaders need to examine themselves for this hypocrisy.   Ask yourself, “Have I condemned Obama’s defeatist approach while practicing my own version of it?”

Another area that requires examination should be centered around outcomes.  If the intended goal of the “user friendly church” was to reduce hostility, then why—under their watch—has hostility towards Christians and laws banning religious freedoms increased dramatically?

They didn’t hate us like this when we preached boldly.  It is possible they now instinctively feel contempt for our compromise?  They respectfully disagreed with us back then, but are repulsed by us now.

Nowhere is this defeatism more glaring than in the attitude of the church at large towards prayer and revival.

They don’t really believe prayer and revival can change our world.  They don’t pray as if prayer had power to change society.  They don’t preach revival because they can’t imagine it happening to their people. They see their congregations as coddled masses who are not willing to pay the price for revival.

Trump shows us that peace through victory means calling someone’s bluff.  Trump did that to Iran when they threatened us with the end of the world if we walked away from that hideous agreement Obama made.  But it turned out to be all talk.

Christian leaders must learn to do that with Satan.  Call his bluff.  Tell him he’s the defeated one!  Behave like Jesus won a total victory on the Cross.  Christian leaders must do that with culture.  Call the bluff of all those ‘experts’ who insist we must alter our message in order to change society.

Listen again to Arthur Matthews: “In any situation where Satan dominates and threatens, God looks for a man through whom He may declare war on the enemy.  He purposes that through this man Satan be served notice to back up, pack up, and clear out.”

Peace through victory calls the devil’s bluff on the highest level.  It declares that the Earth can still be enveloped by a massive act of God, as God said it will:

“For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of Jehovah, as the waters cover the sea” Habakkuk 2:14.

By holding to a policy of peace through victory, Trump has already seen results no one could have imagined.  It is time for Christian leaders to repent of their defeatism and embrace the power of prayer to make tangible changes in the hearts of men and women and to impact world events.

Arthur Matthew said, “It is the man who prays who exercises supremacy even over international situations.  Men are going to have to acknowledge the peace will not be brought through politicians, but through the intercessor who has learned to wage spiritual warfare and wins peace over the principalities and powers in high places.”

Declaring miracle healing to a skeptical public is our solemn duty.

There’s a good reason, my mind raced back to the night someone tried to kill me on the U. C. Berkeley campus. In a few days, we will take the biggest risk in the history of Mario Murillo Ministries. We are about to invest more money, train more soldiers, and cast the deepest, and widest net for souls in California.

Believe me, praying over 5 Miracle rallies in Churches, followed by 5 meetings with leaders, culminating in 5 Living Proof Tent crusades is overwhelming tonight. It is a crushing weight.

God answered in a strange way. Instantly, I was taken back to Berkeley—back to that fateful day on campus. Why was God taking me back to this day? What did it have to do with Living Proof California?

I recall that day in Berkeley as if it just happened. I am so terrified of witnessing that I am pacing and praying all day on a hillside above the campus of 44,000 students.  I ask God: “How do I reach a generation of students who are bent on Marxist revolution?”

One voice within me argued, “You must study the great modern apologists of the faith and give an intellectual defense of the faith.  Immerse yourself in the writings of Francis Schaeffer, C. S. Lewis, and G. K. Chesterton.”   The other voice said simply, “It is not by might nor by power, but by My spirit.”

The answer came emphatically that night.  I am sharing my intellect based “apologetic faith” with a flower child in front of the Student Union Building of Cal. Berkeley at about 11 p.m.   What I could not see was the massive, angry radical, stealing up behind me.

This atheist Goliath grabs me by the neck and begins choking the life out of me, I realize the words of great Christian intellectuals are useless now.  I am sure that young campus radical did not understand why he felt this sudden rage against me.

The powers of darkness understand what was at stake here: Miracle based soul winning is a grave threat to Satan, and demons will stop at nothing to kill miracle ministry before it is born.

God orders me to take my stand in the power of the Spirit, and in my own faltering way I did.  My assailant suddenly stopped and stood stunned by something he saw behind me in the shadows.  To this day I do not know what startled him, I only know that he released his grip on my throat and I ran. As I ran, I affirmed my commitment to the Supernatural Gospel of Christ.

That did it! We began telling people they could come and be healed. Having settled the question in Berkeley, we announced our first healing rally.  I was such a raw recruit that I stood in front of the audience, frozen in fear.

In the crowd that night a young man lay unconscious on a couch at the back of the chapel.  A mixture of LSD and heroin had put him into a coma.   Supernaturally, by the power of the Holy Spirit, he woke up and his symptoms vanished.   He came to the front and knelt in utter adoration of God.

This single healing launched ten years of harvest on the Berkeley University campus.

I returned to the present and heard this phrase: Declaring miracle healing to a skeptical public is not theatrics. It’s a solemn duty.”

We now know that our problem is not just the budget or the magnitude of the task.  Our issue was with miracles. There is so much skepticism, and there has been so much abuse, that we felt a soberness about miracles. We don’t want to be confused with any of the charlatans who operate freely today.

Is it even right to publicly offer hope to those medical science can’t help?  Is it right to raise the expectations of those who have given up on everything else? Then it hit me: Jesus, at the dawn of His ministry made this very public announcement:

Luke 4:18: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19 to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

He did this, so that the miracles can be released.  And that is precisely what we, the church of Jesus should do.  We must go public.

If what say we say about Christ’s power to save and heal is false, then we are, as Paul said, the worst liars in history.  But if it is true, we must offer it freely and publicly, or we are the worst traitors in history!

So what if some have abused the gifts of the Spirit. Does that mean we do not do it right—by the power and leading of the Holy Spirit? So what if some say miracles are not for today? Do we go by man’s word or by God’s word?

I have my answer. Not only is it right to offer hope and declare openly the available miracles of Jesus—it is our duty.

In our tent, the rules of the street will die. In our tent, the chains of sickness and despair will fall off. In our tent an entire generation of Californians will find the life they were born to live. Do what you can to get involved in this most holy mission to California.

P.S. Our very first event for Living Proof California is in Chico. Join us for monumental miracle meetings. Here’s a video message from Mario.
