Working for those who hate him

Thoughts that hit me during the state of the union address: Donald Trump is working to improve the lives of those who hate him.  As the endless list of improvements he has made rolled over the audience it struck me…there were people there who hate him so much that nothing he could ever do will satisfy them.  Even his calls for unity are totally rejected and will be no matter what.

The miracle is that he keeps on going, fighting to make life safer and better, even if you hate him. Wow.

He has kept every promise he could keep. He has proven his sincerity to help all Americans and yet they hate him and shamelessly sat there and refused to acknowledge anything he has done.

He is making life better for women even though many on the left refuse to see it.  He risks being hated, embraces the hate and keeps working for those who despise him.  He is working to make life better for every demographic group that is calling for his removal and even his death.

Now humor me as I engage is some sarcasm:

-Even though only 8% of blacks voted for him and many black leaders vilify him, he is working to reduce crime, fix crumbling streets and buildings and bring real jobs and real hope to the inner city…I can see why you hate him.

-He is working to improve the lives of women.  He built a multi-billion-dollar empire on a system of merit that promoted men and women equally.  Because of him, the workplace is becoming family friendly with maternity leaves.  Companies are giving women bonuses because of the strong economy.  I can see why you hate him.

He got government off the back of small business—women are the fastest growing group of small business owners.  I can see why women don stupid hats and cuss him out and call him Hitler.

The President is working for the environmentalists who hate him.  Everyone knows the future is in renewable energy but we need a bridge to that future.  Environmentalists want to shut down all fossil fuels and create calamity for the rest of us—especially poor people.  They remind me of the new-age midwives who want women to give birth cold-turkey just to feel all the pain.

These elitist environmentalists don’t have to drive a semi to feed their family.  They will fly around in private jets polluting the air while they lecture the poor fighting to get to work in the only car they can afford.  Refusing to build this bridge to renewable energy is a great way to kill the mother and the baby.  I can see why you hate him.

He is working for poor Americans by securing our borders.  When a criminal or a terrorist enters our country where do they go?  They immediately set up shop in the inner city.  They take the jobs from those who need them most—they plan their mischief in the ghetto.  I can see why inner-city Americans hate Trump…he is putting them first.

When will you wake up from your liberal media induced coma?  Obama had eight years to make black lives matter in Chicago.  He could have sent in the national guard and stopped the killing.  He was more concerned about Syrian refugees than American refugees from violence—I can see why you loved Obama.

An overwhelming number of millennials lived in your parent’s basement under Obama.  Now you don’t.  He put way more energy into putting a man in the women’s restrooms than to putting you in a real career.

And finally, to all of you celebrity Pastors still afraid of support Trump because he is not “pastor” material, let me say this: Would you stay in a church where half of the people lied about you every day and wanted you out.  Would you—knowing there were greener pastures, a bigger church with a higher salary and more adulation—stay and serve?  Yeah I see why you look down on Trump.

Government work?  Trump didn’t need it.  But tell me, where else could Obama have gone?  Can you see Barack trying to build a business in New York City?  He couldn’t do anything but government…and, in my opinion, he was deplorable in government—buttressed by the fantasies of the liberal left.  Again, I can see why you credit Obama for our current economic boom and you hate Trump.

With all bias against him and the massive unfairness heaped on him…Trump still wants to make America great.  How easily—Mr. celebrity pastor—could Trump say, “the heck with all this, I don’t need this for me and my family.”

There are many areas Donald Trump needs to grow spiritually but in one area he has zoomed ahead of most preachers: Matthew 5: 44 “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you…”

Obama still weakens the church

Critics falsely accuse Trump of making the world more dangerous.  The truth is, it was Obama—with his foreign policy of weakness and capitulation—that intensified international tensions.
Obama continually gave things away, getting nothing in return but contempt for America.
He also made life more dangerous by leaving behind operatives in every aspect of government who are fiercely loyal to him. They carry his hatred toward so many aspects of our way of life.
Trump on the other hand—by refusing to accept anything but victory—defused the danger level of the world.  He also is rooting out weakness in government. It is his direct attack on the deep state, more than anything else that has unleashed the rage being poured on Trump.
Obama’s weak approach to crisis is the bane of leftist thinking.  Underneath, is the belief that victory is not possible. The best they can hope for is a tenuous treaty.  Nothing is settled.  The undercurrent of defeatism ran through all his policies…he found a half-cure for everything.
Our social programs do not imagine full recovery for anyone. That is why they are riddled with drugs and defeatist therapies. That is why they despise Bible solutions to moral and physical problems.
I know you may find this to be fantastic but none the less it is true. You would be shocked how many ministers hold Obama as a hero and worship his defeatist style.
Tragically, the church learned Obama’s way of making things more dangerous.  The trend in church is to get people to like us better.   Ironically, it only made them hate us more.
This explained defeatist preaching that withholds scripture, repentance and the promise of becoming a new creation. Modern ministers too often have become the great disablers. Their programs inflate dependency every bit as much as government programs.
Arthur Matthews was an amazing man.  Decades before American Pastors began imitating Obama apology tours, and detente with evil, Matthews saw it coming:
“Old Testament examples of prayer at work portray most dramatically for us the believer’s authority over all the power of God’s enemies.  There is a finality that will not be gainsaid in the way the superior strength of alien armies is disposed of as God’s servants. This finality is not seen in the political bargaining that characterizes our day.  Compromises are made, peace treaties are signed, and the peacemakers move to other danger spots; but the fighting still goes on.  Are we allowing our disillusionment with the world’s acclaimed peacemakers to influence our thinking on spiritual warfare?  Are we really convinced our call is to spiritual welfare and peace through victory?”
It’s almost as if he is asking, “are you acting like Obama with the things of God?”

Christian leaders need to examine themselves for this hypocrisy.   Ask yourself, “have I condemned Obama’s defeatist approach while practicing my own version of it?”
Another examination should center around outcomes.  If the intended goal of the “user friendly church” was to reduce hostility, then why—under their watch—has hostility towards Christians, and laws banning religious freedoms increased dramatically?
They didn’t hate us like this when we preached boldly.  It is possible they instinctively felt contempt for our compromise?  They respectfully disagreed back then, but are repulsed by us now.
Nowhere is this defeatism more glaring, than in the attitude of the church at large, towards prayer and revival.
They don’t really believe prayer and revival can change our world.  They don’t pray as if prayer had power to change society.  They don’t preach revival because they can’t imagine it happening to their people. They see their congregations as coddled masses not willing to pay the price for revival.
Trump shows us that peace through victory means calling someone’s bluff.  Trump did that to Iran when they threatened us with end of the world if we walked away from that hideous agreement Obama made.  It was all talk.
Christians leaders must learn to do that with Satan.  Call his bluff.  Tell him he’s the defeated one!  Behave like Jesus won on the Cross.  Christian leaders must do that with culture.  Call the bluff of all those experts who insist we must alter our message to change society.
Listen again to Arthur Matthews: “In any situation where Satan dominates and threatens, God looks for a man through whom he may declare war on the enemy.  He purposes that through this man Satan be served notice to back up, pack up, and clear out.”

Peace through victory calls the devil’s bluff on the biggest level.  It declares that the Earth can still be enveloped by a massive act of God.
By holding to a policy of peace through victory, Trump has already seen results no one could have imagined.  It is time for Christian leaders to repent of their defeatism and embrace the power of prayer to make tangible changes in the hearts of men and women and to impact world events.
Arthur Matthew said, “It is the man who prays who exercises supremacy even over international situations.  Men are going to have to acknowledge the peace will not be brought through politicians, but through the intercessor who has learned to wage spiritual warfare and wins peace over the principalities and powers in high places.”
P.S  Pray for our president.

Strong medicine

There is a widespread spirit of heaviness on God’s people.  It is a crushing weight of care.  It is battle-fatigue from the constant shelling of bad news.   The media barks, “We interrupt this bad news to give you more bad news.”

Hearing the angry debates—seeing the rioting in the streets and Islamic terror attacks drains sanity from souls.

Not only this, we have to hold in enormous frustration: stupidity and wickedness get a megaphone—wisdom and righteousness get duct tape over their mouth.

These are the times that rob inner peace—that bring intense restlessness—that rinse the color and enjoyment from our life.

These are the times Jesus warned us of and gave us direction for.

First He said, “And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But not a hair of your head shall be lost. By your patience possess your souls.” – Luke 21: 17-19

Talk about mindless hate! The liberal, and feminist bias toward Islam and hatred for Christ is mind-bending.  It makes zero sense.  Yet that is exactly the kind of irrational hatred our Lord predicted. It is a weariness to believers who openly share their faith.

Then He said: Luke 21: 34 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth.”

The dumbest thing anyone ever said to me: “when you come to Jesus your problems are over.”  I never had problems until I met Jesus!  I kept wondering why am I being attacked?  Why am I being shot at from all directions?  Why do I meet stiff resistance every time I try to do something meaningful for Jesus?

Does this sound familiar? You walk through life, minding your own business and wham!  A coworker rages at you for no reason. Money evaporates.  Your health fails.  Loved ones abandon God.  A confluence of demonic attacks falls on you.  Life has never felt so cruel and unfair.

At the apex of one of these attacks something happened to me.  A terrifying thought became a glorious thought:  SOMEBODY IS MAD AT JESUS AND THEY ARE TAKING IT OUT ON ME!  Suddenly, I felt qualified to fight back. And I felt profoundly honored.

Think about it!  A soldier does not go to war because he has a personal grudge against the enemy.  He didn’t declare war—his nation did.  He is not responsible for the battle plan—the military is.  He is not paying his own way to the war—his government is.

Let’s rehearse the things that are not the soldier’s responsibility.  The training he needs—the weapons he needs—the food and shelter he needs—the assignment he needs…these and a host of other things are not his responsibility.

The soldier does not create the organized army.  He does not carry the weight of how the war will be won.

If he sits in the foxhole feeling alone and unfairly attacked it is because he forgotten who he is and why he is being attacked.  He has taken the battle into his own hands!

But when he remembers that he was recruited—when he recalls that he is not alone but a part of a victorious army and all he is called to do is obey orders—it changes everything!

When we take the attack personally we lose hope.  When we say, “The battle is not mine, it’s God’s,” we cannot be defeated.  Let’s stay out of things that do not concern us.  Let’s keep our conflict in the hands of God.  We must discern when we are operating in our own strength and by our own wits.

Remembering your attacks are not personal is plainly seen in these verses:  Luke 21: 12 “But before all this occurs, there will be a time of special persecution, and you will be dragged into synagogues and prisons and before kings and governors for my name’s sake. 13 But as a result, the Messiah will be widely known and honored.  14 Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer; 15 for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist.

When they were arrested it felt personal. When they were dragged to court it felt personal.  But when they were asked to speak it became God’s battle and Christ is glorified!  He gave them the words and the courage to speak.  He even told them not to prepare words beforehand.  That means that we are not to devise ways of fighting back.  It means we will get what we need when we need it.

Paul experienced the same thing: “Philippians 1:12 But I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel…”

Right now we have a presidential election that embodies everything that is wrong with our nation.  It is a hair-pulling, maddening, terrifying and draining moment for believers. We must put the battle back in God’s hand and let Him replenish our peace and joy.

Never forget! We have the best message humanity has ever heard, and the best book ever written.   We have the best captain in the universe!  We have the all-powerful Holy Spirit sent to aid us.   We have access to power, strategy and wisdom.  All of this and more can direct our fighting.

Someone is mad at Jesus and they are taking it out on you?  What an honor!  What an opportunity!  When Satan comes at you let Jesus come at him!

The first time an angel stares at you in heaven with wonder and admiration for your service to Christ…you’ll know why your trials are worth it all.  The first time you hear “well done” from Jesus you won’t remember the trials.  No wonder Paul said, “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”-Romans 8:18

NOW

20 years ago, my phone rang. “Mario, I want to give you a million dollars.”  I knew the voice.  He had the money.  I was excited.  But my heart sank when he said, “I want you to use it to start a church.”

I told him, “I’m not a pastor” and anyway, I would never have started a church where he asked.  A good friend had a large and powerful church nearby where I preached  regularly.

I pleaded with him to just give it for lost souls.  But no, he wanted a church.

I introduced the millionaire to my pastor friend and encouraged them to plant a new work.  They met and appointed a pastor. We even helped them launch. The new pastor said, “we want to give MMM an acre of land to thank you.”  We’d use for a training center.

Months later, the new pastor called, “Mario, we changed our minds about giving you the acre of land.” The Holy Spirit said, “stay out of strife, walk in love. You have sown a million-dollar seed. If you walk in love, I will double it.” That’s how the $2 million promise was born.  Remember that figure of $ 2 million.

An even greater test was ahead. Preaching in another country in front of 7,000 people,I picked a young man out of the crowd. I said, “Would you please stand.  The Lord says, ‘when you walk to your car later tonight, God will give you an invention that will make you extremely wealthy.’”

Years later that man called me.  He wanted to meet me in San Francisco.  Everything had come to pass. His invention—after brutal legal battles—took off and made him hundreds of millions of dollars. He wanted to thank me.

I went to meet him full of expectancy, knowing he would fulfill the promise of $2 Million. He bought me a hamburger, thanked me and then left. That was it. Once again, God said, “Let it go. Walk in love.”

Earlier this year, our promise was tortured a third time.  One night in our tent, some leaders informed me a man worth over $160 million wanted to address the crowd. He told the crowd he wanted to make a large donation.  You can guess the amount he told me he would give. That’s right $2 million. But I knew, this man could not be trusted. The enemy had sent him to humiliate and discourage us yet again.

But this letter is not about my hurts. Something far more urgent burns in my soul. I am overcome by a bottomless frustration. I see our nation being consumed by natural disasters groping for answers. I see our children being forced to renounce Jesus in order to be educated. I see God-hating mobs preying on innocent people. I see a nation too foggy from drugs to see their freedom and their future slowly being drained out of them. But I see something else…

I see the gift God has given us. Mario Murillo Ministries is being used of God in a uniquely powerful way. Over 5 million people have read my blogs—blogs that call America to repent. Each day our audience grows. Our outreach destroys the works of Satan.

Every single time we have been allowed to express our gift amazing things happen. City after city is begging for our tent. Others are too afraid to ask for fear we would say no…and for the very first time, we did.

Houston and San Antonio were cancelled, at the last minute because of money. Unless you know you can’t grasp how devastating that was.  What a tragedy!

I collapsed in my prayer room. I sobbed to God.  I needed to understand why it happened to us again and again.  People who had the means to help us—who wouldn’t have even missed the money—refused to do it.

Jesus revealed to me that the time for our $2 million-dollar miracle was here.  He told me how it would come in.  He showed me that more people than we have ever seen would give smaller gifts.  Tens of thousands of people would give.

The He made it clear that a handful of people were going to give the largest gifts we have ever seen.  I am convinced people will give gifts above $100,000 and someone will give a million dollars.

Then I had one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I began with a direct promise from the Lord: He said, “People will pour it out to you from all over.  Those who give will see miracles in their lives and in the lives of their loved ones. Special blessings are going to come on all who give.” I was afraid to tell you that part because it sounded too much like what carnal preachers say. But then this happened:

A young prophetess named Hannah—I never use that term lightly! Anyway, she called, and said these words to Mechelle and me: “People who give to your ministry are going to see miracles in their lives, and in the lives of their loved ones.”  She used the exact same words. I almost fell out!

Then, at our 50th anniversary convention, Perry Stone, in the midst of a masterful sermon, suddenly stopped preaching, looked right at me and said these words, “people who give to your ministry are going to see miracles in their lives, and in the lives of their loved ones.” My wife looked at each other astonished.

I have zero doubt that the time is now for our $2 million promise to be fulfilled. Without that concrete assurance, I would never write this letter.

What the enemy has done blocking our blessing for 20 years ends with this appeal to you. You can be the fulfillment of prophecy and by your gift avenge this long ordeal. You can undo the failure of others and release us to a shocking impact on America!

Today is the last day you can give in 2018. I would never want to offend you. This is only directed to those whose hearts are warmed to help me and who are chosen for these special blessings.

God is clearly speaking to a select core—a core He has blessed in order to be a blessing.  He is touching you will great faith to do some bold—I mean, really bold.

No matter what you give, it will take us closer to this glorious goal. It is my honor to have you as a partner to win young lost souls. Remember, today is the last day.  Use the link below to open our easy to use donation page.

God bless you,

The Trump miracle is not for wimps

Satan has stoked the fires. One big reason is to get the church to abandon Trump. However, in doing that, we also abandon our miracle. Trump is only the start of a miracle. Trump is a foot in the door—a stay of execution.  He is an act of God to buy the church time to repent and return to her rightful role in American life.
Trump is not a pastor or a moral reformer. His role is specialized and only for a season. If we don’t seize the time and the door God has opened, disaster will strike.
Consider how Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer will handle the next 2 years: Endless investigations—ignoring the economy and American families—a frenzy to normalize immorality, and giving billions to people who are not Americans.
Trump annoys you? You want a saint in the Oval Office? Grow up! His foibles are nothing in comparison to the overt godlessness spewing from the left. Instead of wimping out on Trump, blame the real villains.
Those of you who worship Trump need a wake-up call too. He is not supposed to usher in revival. We are. He is not the one to pray without ceasing. We are.  He is not the moral leader of America…that is the church!
You claim Trump is a miracle like King Cyrus. But Cyrus didn’t help Israel build for very long. It was up to the people of God to seize the miracle. If not for the astonishing endurance of a handful of priests, prophets, and one notable cup bearer, Israel would have remained in ruins.  (Read Ezra, Nehemiah and Haggai).
It took nearly 80 years after the king’s decree before the Temple and the wall were finished. Let me let you in on a secret: we don’t have 80 years.  If we do not learn from history—America will never be restored.  If we blow this…expect disaster.
FABRICE COFFRINI/AFP/Getty Images)
It is silly to worry about what people will think if we stand with Trump. The spirit on the left will hate you and God with or without Trump. At least with Trump we have a firewall to let us preach the Gospel and hold on for another miracle.
We can’t be passive! We can’t fear supporting the president because things have gotten so heated. We also can’t sit back and abuse the miracle we have received.
The American church must build on the opportunity that Trump gave us. We must wake up to our task!  Our disunity is killing our cause. We must shake off the disastrous apathy and complacency that is dulling us to our duty.
There is great hope because we have gotten a miracle. Miracles have power beyond what we understand. God let this blog get in your hands so that you would pray and obey. Don’t worry about others…just do the right thing. God will take care of the rest.

Why is America miserable?

It’s easy to see what is making America miserable: The Left has a firm grip on a lie while the church has a loose grip on the truth.

The left told America to turn her back on God. How’s that working? Every metric of quality of life in our nation shows the same trend: acute loneliness, emptiness and despair.

Liberals told America there are many ways to truth.  But, instead of enlightenment, it brought deeper darkness, deeper questions, and a growing inability to know truth.

Few Americans can make it through a day without alcohol, a toke, a pill, powder or a needle. Our children are taking their own lives over shoes, pictures on Instagram, and bullies at school.

Is this what happens when you tell God to leave? Did God leave the Democrat party after they booed Him at their convention?

The Left doesn’t want to own up to the misery of the inner cities they have controlled for 50 years. The left chants, “keep taking government money it will give you a future. Keep believing you are a victim, and you’ll stop being a victim.”

The left must keep a tight grip on a the lie of calling America racist.  Even if Obama’s election proved it is a lie.

The Left says they must silence opposing views. Weaponize heckling. Make it a veto on free speech. They’ve created young minds full of self-pity and fear.

The left says America is evil for not opening their borders. Wait what?! America is the most welcoming nation on earth. The overwhelming majority of the people on earth believe in strong borders. Most nations have much stricter border policies. But the lie must live on because democrats need new voters.

We are a nation at each other’s throats.  The left loves it that way.  Mobs not jobs is a totally justified accusation against the left.

They have a firm grip on a lie, but the church has a loose grip on the truth.

Did God also leave those entertainment worship centers that filtered out the Holy Spirit in favor of marketing?  The Left has no answer but shouts as if they did. The church has the answer and is silent as if they didn’t.  Leftist’s go on talk shows and spout madness with conviction. Christian celebrities go on the same show and can’t (or won’t) define sin.

Superstar Christian speakers said there are many ways to win a generation to God. We no longer need repentance, Bible preaching, or reliance on the Holy Spirit.  No matter what they boast the fact remains, they didn’t win lost souls so much as they moved gullible Christians away from Godly pastors into the shallows. Instead of making disciples they provide quarter for those who want a faith without works.

The Holy Spirit is not welcome in this place. They fear holiness the way snowflakes fear Ben Shapiro. They dread the power gifts of the Holy Spirit. They omit the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.  The nation pays the price for their lukewarm faith.

America became miserable in part because some preachers told us not to judge. We ended up not being able to discern! Millions of so-called Christians vote for abortion and same sex marriage. We were powerless in America’s hour of need—too disoriented and morally ambivalent to push back on immoral laws. The Great Commission was plowed under the priority of church growth.

Both the left and lukewarm have this in common: they gave America false promises.

Stuck in the middle between the radical left and the lukewarm church are tens of millions of Americans who just want truth. They are paying taxes, raising kids, obeying laws, and they still love America. They are vulnerable to the raw power of the Gospel.

Also stuck between the radical left and the lukewarm church is the remnant of God. These are pastors, and regular Christians who are praying to go deeper. They are busy saying to each other, “the sideshow is not God, there’s more! No way can Satan win if we take our stand on the authority of the Cross!”  They are ready to deliver that raw power of the Gospel.

Woe onto you God haters and lukewarmers. Two radically wonderful groups are about to meet each other in the midst of this misery. God will see to it that the Americans who want deliverance and a life worth living will collide with the holy core of God who only want to obey the Holy Spirit.

A company of God’s people with a firm grip on the truth will loose many from the power of Satan.

Daniel 11:32  “Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.”

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR

Dear Left…you’re salivating at the thought of throwing Trump out of office.  Be careful what you wish for.  You are truly in a lose-lose situation.
Let me say upfront—I want Donald Trump to remain president.  I believe he will remain president.  And then he’ll be reelected.
I know, I know…some Christians are wringing their hands at all the drama going on right now.  But I am at total peace.  These histrionics are simply proof of two things: President Trump is not a politician.   And who could have foreseen, when he started draining the swamp, how vicious and abundant the monsters.
Trump is impulsive?  In a zombie apocalypse, you must act fast!
So, go ahead and dump him.  You never will, but let’s just say you did.  You’d bring to power the most committed Christian who has ever been president.
Don’t get me wrong I respect Donald Trump, I believe he is a man of faith, but I might not crown him theologian of the year.  Mike Pence, on the other hand, knows the Bible well.  He will take a strong stand for godly principles.
And so, dear left, if you get your wish, …here is who, and what, will be in the White House:
He is even more socially conservative than Donald Trump.   Mike Pence is stronger on abortion, and marriage than Trump.  For social progressives, this is exit frying pan enter fire.
The new MAGA would read Make America Godly Again.
And if you think you can use the tactics you currently use on Donald Trump…consider the Mike Pence temperament.  He is calm, measured, listens before he speaks, uses few words and leads a squeaky clean personal life.  He is the yellow journalist’s worst nightmare.
I can’t wait for Stephen Colbert, Rachel Maddow and Don Lemon to try to tell us what an evil person Mike Pence is.
Remember the vice-presidential debate?  Recall how he reduced Tim Kaine to a caterwauling infant.  The more Mike stayed calm, the shriller Kaine became.  It looked like a school principal talking to a hysterical junior higher.
Instead of the zingers from Trump (which I love) you will get the rational, considered opinion that demolishes stupid questions. (Which I also love).  You really want that?
Mike Pence also has bi-partisan support—even from those that disagree with his convictions.
Left-wing God haters rest between the proverbial rock and a hard place.  For those who want one nation under God, Mike Pence would reinforce it
Trump is an answer to prayer.  He is the wrecking ball to corruption in both Democrats and Republicans that we so desperately needed.  This just in:  Trump will not be thrown out of office.  Donald Trump will fulfill his destiny.
However, the thought of a president Mike Pence should give the left a fresh nightmare.  But it should give the faithful another feeling: the feeling of win-win.
