Eric Holder, IRS officials coached tax-exempt black ministers on how to engage in political activity

Attorney General Eric Holder and IRS officials advised black ministers on how to engage in political activity during the 2012 election without violating their tax-exempt status.

Holder, then-IRS commissioner Douglas Shulman, and Peter Lorenzetti, a senior official in the scandal-plagued agency’s exempt organizations division, participated in a May 2012 training session for black ministers from the Conference of National Black Churches at the U.S. Capitol hosted by the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC). Holder spoke at the event.

“We’re going to, first of all, equip them with the information they need to know about what they can say and what they cannot say in the church that would violate their 501(c)(3) status with the IRS,” said then-CBC chairman Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, a Democrat from Missouri. “In fact, we’re going to have the IRS administrator there. We’re going to have Attorney General Eric Holder there…the ACLU.”

Cleaver’s session advised black ministers on “draconian laws” including voter ID laws. Cleaver was a sharp critic during the 2012 campaign of Republican Mitt Romney’s policies.

As The Daily Caller has extensively reported, the IRS harassed conservative and tea party groups during the 2012 election cycle with improper reviews of their 501(c)(3) tax-exempt applications.

“[The CBC] had the IRS members there specifically to advise them on how far to go campaigning without violating their tax-exempt status,” George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley told The Daily Caller.

“I viewed the meeting as highly problematic. Eric Holder heads the agency that prosecutes organizations who give false information to the government. The Justice Department coordinates with the IRS on actions taken against not-for-profits. These ministries are given not-for-profit status on the basis that they are not engaging in any political activities. Here, the Obama administration was clearly encouraging them to maximize their efforts by showing them where the lines were drawn in federal case law,” Turley said.

“It is a fundamental precept that cabinet members should not engage in political activities. The most important of those cabinet members would be the attorney general of the United States. To have the attorney general actively advising political allies of the president showed remarkably poor judgment on his part,” Turley told TheDC.

“I believe this session undermined the integrity of the justice department, signaled to other Justice Department officials that the attorney general wants to support these black ministries as much as possible,” Turley said.

Obama won 93 percent of the black vote in 2012, according to exit polling.

“This event was open to all faiths, denominations, colors, creeds, and political affiliations,” Rep. Cleaver told TheDC in a statement. “We were pleased to have leaders from our government provide information on compliance with the law and participation in our electoral system.”

The IRS and DOJ did not return requests for comment.

A Cold Blooded Convention

As time has gone on even the most ardent fan of Obama has come to realize he has no plan, no convictions, no loyalty except one: to stay in power at all cost.   He knows that he has accomplished none of what he promised.  He knows that he must lie and cheat and use whatever currency that he has left to patch together a coalition that will, in one breathtaking moment of denial, vote him back into power.

Take for example his coalition of Islam and gay rights activists.  How is this possible?  Gays are executed in Islamic countries.  Obama has done the impossible!  He has magically convinced two groups that are in violent opposition to each other to vote for him.   He has done this by keeping them separated and by keeping them from thinking.

Obama wants is for everyone to stop thinking.  His new slogan is, “are you going to believe what you see or are you going to believe what I say?”

The best way to prove what I am saying is to ask one of his supporters a simple question: why are you voting for Barrack Obama?  Many are actually now refusing to answer that question but those that do answer will offer material that makes for amazing theater.  They will say that 4 years later, it is still George Bush’s fault.  They will say that we do not need someone with executive and business experience to fix our economy, we need someone who hates the rich.  The best one is, “I like him.”

The Democratic National Convention will be a cold blooded, calculated rant against the other guy.  Look for solutions, vision, faith, inspiration, truth and you might as well look for lips on a chicken.  It will coincide with an Islamic rally nearby, that was permitted to bill itself as part of the DNC in its poster, and the conventions will end with a worship service where the devotees must bow before the anointed one for no other reason than HE IS BARRACK OBAMA.

When one goes into the voting booth to vote for Obama there are many things that cannot go in with them: reason, honesty, Christian conviction and a love for America.  Black pastors must vote for him from under the bus where he tossed them.  Gays must vote for him knowing their man is in bed with a religion that wants their total obliteration.  Catholics must vote for him knowing he will abuse power to take over their schools and hospitals.  Americans must vote for him knowing he has every intention of continuing his mission to dismantle our greatness.

The most hilarious segment of Obama’s base is the media.  Neither blood nor oxygen has made it to their brains!  They somehow have convinced themselves that a man who has trampled the constitution by abuse of executive order, a man that has gone after religious freedom, and every other freedom will somehow, miraculously, leave freedom of the press alone.

I know above all else, that there is power in prayer.  This chilling moment where the sun is setting on our beloved freedoms can be reversed.  My prayer is that the 17 million Christians who did not vote in the last election will wake up from their coma.  Voting is now very spiritual.  Voting your conscience is no longer just a duty, now it is an extension of your Christianity.  God bless America.

Black Coalition of Pastors call on Obama to change his stance on same sex marriage.

A few days ago, I asked why black pastors had not spoken out against Obama and the NAACP intimidating black pastors to support same sex marriage.  Now comes news that some very credible pastors are calling on Obama to change his position on Gay Marriage.  Here is the report.

Here is a report  By Meagan Clark – The Daily Caller | The Daily Caller – 3 hrs ago

The Coalition of African American Pastors announced Tuesday that it does not agree with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People’s decision to endorse the legalization of same-sex marriage.

CAAP launched a petition last week to oppose broadening the legal definition of marriage.

The coalition includes leaders of black churches and veteran civil rights leaders who marched with Martin Luther King Jr.

The NAACP voted to endorse same-sex marriage Saturday, and NAACP President Benjamin Jealous publicly endorsed gay marriage Monday.

“The NAACP has abandoned its historic responsibility to speak for and safeguard the civil rights movement,” CAAP founder and President William Owens said Tuesday. “We who marched with Rev. King did not march one inch or one mile to promote same-sex marriage.”

Jealous called gay marriage a civil right, and said he believes “it is the responsibility, the history of the NAACP to speak up on the civil rights issues of our times.”

CAAP says it believes gay Americans should have equal civil rights, but that it does not believe there should be a right to legally marry someone of the same sex.

On behalf of the coalition, Owens said, “We call on all Americans to respect the legitimate civil rights of gay people to be free from violence, harassment, to vote, to hold jobs.”

Owens drew from King’s “Letter From Birmingham Jail” to explain what he believes is the difference between a just and unjust law.

According to Owens, a just law is a man-made code that squares with the law of God, and an unjust law is a code that is out of harmony with moral law.

Owens also drew from St. Thomas Aquinas and said, “An unjust law is a human law that is not rooted in eternal law and natural law.”

“Same-sex marriage is an attempt to do the opposite of what Rev. King did,” Owens said.  “It’s an attempt by men to use political power to declare that an act contrary to God’s law and to the natural law is a civil right.”

CAAP held a press conference last week in Memphis, where King died, to call on President Barack Obama to reconsider his support for gay marriage.

“Our only weapons in this fight are the weapons of Rev. King: truth and love and courage,” Owens said.”  – Meagan Clark.

These men have reaffirmed who their true messiah is.  They have also done something incredibly urgent by invoking the name of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  They have demonstrated that forces who wanted to blur the line between same sex marriage and the Civil Rights Movment  had, as one eloquent voice put it, “hijacked the freedom train from Birmingham.”
