Poll: Voters Trust Donald Trump to Keep America Safe; Favor Muslim Ban

Americans trust Donald Trump to keep America safe more than former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, despite repeated assertions from Democrats that she is one of the most qualified candidates for president in history.

A new poll from Morning Consult shows that 41 percent of Americans believed that Trump would do a better job of keeping the country safe while only 37 percent favored Hillary Clinton. (Twenty-two percent said they didn’t know or had no opinion).

Trump’s boost comes from Independent voters, as 38 percent say they trust Trump while only 26 percent favored Clinton.

The poll also shows that Americans support Trump’s proposal for a temporary ban on Muslims traveling to the United States. Forty-eight percent of those polled supported the idea while only 40 percent opposed it. (Eleven percent said they didn’t know or had no opinion)

The Morning Consult survey polled 2,001 voters from June 15-18 for a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.

TRUMP: DAYS OF DEADLY IGNORANCE WILL END

Trump tears into Clinton over Orlando as he says attacks prove HE’S the man to protect Americans – including gays and Muslims – and claims she would let more Islamic terrorists into the country

  • Donald Trump delivered a stinging speech about terrorism on Monday in New Hampshire, hammering Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama
  • Said he wants to protect all Americans from jihadis and faulted the Obama administration for being asleep at the switch on immigration
  • Expressed strong solidarity with gays and lesbians after an armed jihadi killed more than four dozen people at a gay nightclub in Florida
  • ‘Ignorance is not bliss,’ he said of Clinton’s national security proposals; ‘It’s deadly. Totally deadly’

Donald Trump leveled a national-security flamethrower at Hillary Clinton on Tuesday, blaming her for embracing an immigration policy that would drive more Islamic radicals to stage terror attacks like the one from which Orlando, Florida is only beginning to recover.

Clinton, he said, would negligently implement a ‘catastrophic immigration plan’ that would ‘bring vastly more radical Islamic immigrants into this country, threatening not only our society but our entire way of life.’

‘Ignorance is not bliss,’ he said in a half-hour speech at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire.

‘It’s deadly. Totally deadly.’

CLOBBERING CLINTON: Donald Trump delivered a biting speech Tuesday on terrorism and national security, aimed largely at Hillary Clinton, following a deadly Islamist terror attack on a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida

DUELING SPEECHES: Clinton and Trump split on gun control but agreed on the notion that radical Islamists are a threat to the LGBT community

Trump castigated the former secretary of state for comments she made in November 2015 during a speech to the Council on Foreign Relations.

‘Let’s be clear: Islam is not our adversary,’ Clinton said then. ‘Muslims are peaceful and tolerant people and have nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism.’

‘That is Hillary Clinton,’ Trump said, hammering her for her response to the weekend’s bloodbath at a gay nightclub where more than four dozen people list their lives to a man who pledged allegiance to the ISIS terror army.

‘The days of deadly ignorance will end, and they will end soon’ if he is elected president, Trump pledged.

Clinton’s response on Monday was equal parts gun control and a motherly embrace of America’s gays and lesbians.

‘She says the solution is to ban guns. They tried that in France,’ Trump poked, referring to last year’s terror attacks in Paris. ‘One hundred thirty people were brutally murdered by Islamic terrorists in cold blood,’ he said.

‘Her plan is to disarm law-abiding Americans, abolish the Second Amendment and leave only terrorists … with guns.’

‘She wants to take away Americans’ guns and then admit the very people who want to slaughter us,’ Trump boomed, reading from a teleprompter. He pledged to meet with the National Rifle Association, the powerful lobby that has endorsed him, to ‘discuss how to make sure Americans have the means to protect themselves in this age of terror.’

‘CAN’T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS: ‘Hillary Clinton can never pretend to be a friend of the gay community,’ Trump said in New Hampshire, while she supports immigration policies that admit anti-gay jihadi immigrants

IN YOUR FACE: Trump read a Clinton quote from a November 2015 speech before attempting to dismantle her views on immigration, national security and border protection

Trump effectively blunted Clinton’s approach on anti-gay discrimination by joining her, however, saying that ‘our nation stands together in solidarity with the members of Orlando’s LGBT community’ against a terrorist who plotted ‘to execute gay and lesbian Americans.’

He called the carnage ‘an assault on the ability of free people to live their lives, love who they want, and express their identity.’

That rhetoric would have sounded at home during the Democratic primary season, or on the stage of Sunday night’s Tony Awards.

Trump, in fact, claimed that he would be a better and more effective advocate than Clinton for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans.

‘Hillary Clinton can never pretend to be a friend of the gay community,’ he said, while supporting immigration policies that bring along with them the threat of more jihadi immigrants.

‘She can’t have it both ways,’ he said. ‘She can’t claim to be supportive of these communities while [increasing] the number of people who want to oppress these communities.’

He emphasized that as president he would prioritize the protection of law-abiding ‘people who are potential victims of crimes based on backgrounds or sexual orientation.’

Trump has been the Republican Party’s most consistent immigration hawk during the primary season, advocating for tighter border control and catching flak along the way.

‘We want to remain a free and open society … [but] we have to control our borders. And we have to control them now. Not later. Right now,’ he said Monday.

With dozens dead in Orlando, he said, ‘we cannot afford to talk around issues anymore. We have to address these issues head-on.’

In a tweak to his previous proposal for a ban on non-citizen Muslims coming into the United States, he said he would use existing presidential powers to ‘suspend immigration from areas of the world where there is a proven history of terrorism against the United States, Europe, or our allies.’

And doubling down on identity groups that cleave to Clinton’s side, he emphasized that ‘radical Islam is anti-woman, anti-gay and anti-American.’

‘I refuse to allow America to become a place where gay people, Christian people, Jewish people are targets of persecution and intimidation by radical Islamic preachers of hate and violence.’

‘This is not just a national security issue. It’s a quality of life issue.’

Benghazi: Our litmus test to see if we deserve to remain a free nation.

infamy copy

A few weeks ago Obama gave a graduation speech in which he told students that the idea that their government would be guilty of tyranny was absurd and that they had no reason to fear their government.   Now, he has given all us of the proof that we need that he acted with tyranny in sacrificing 4 Americans in Benghazi in order to protect his reelection.  The first question you must ask yourself is this…”what else is he willing to do to protect his power?”

He has vilified gun rights as we know them and has now become a poster child for why we need the Second Amendment.  He has shown us that in all prudence we must use our remaining rights to protect ourselves from him.

Jay Carney said that “Benghazi was a long time ago.”  Imagine how that sounded to the four families who lost loved ones in that embassy inferno?   He said that an independent council had reviewed the events in Benghazi and given them a clean bill of health.  The problem is they never spoke to the ranking diplomat in Benghazi who was most aware of all of the events.

Where was Obama during those eight hours of attack?  Why were rescuers told to stand down?  How could they blame the attack on an anti-Muslim video for two weeks after they had proof it had nothing to do with the terrorist attack?  How could they threaten and excoriate those brave leaders who tried to talk to congress?

Hillary Clinton is equally guilty of lying and covering up the truth.  She is not fit to lead this nation and has given us fair warning that her presidency would be more of the same cronyism, duplicity, arrogance and incompetence of the current administration.

AIR FORCE GENERAL CRITICIZES LACK OF MILITARY RESPONSE TO BENGHAZI ATTACK

Retired Air Force Brigadier General Robert Lovell testified today that the military should have done more to try to help the Americans who were under attack in Benghazi on September 11, 2012. At the time of the attack, Lovell was the deputy director for intelligence at Africa Command.

Lovell told the House Oversight Committee:

Many with firsthand knowledge have recounted the heroism displayed by the brave Americans in Benghazi that night. They fought the way they trained. That is in the record.

Outside of Libya there were discussions that churned on about what we should do. These elements also fought the way they were trained. Specifically, the predisposition to interagency influence had the military structure—in the spirit of expeditionary government support—waiting for a request for assistance from the State Department.

There are accounts of time, space and capability discussions of the question, could we have gotten there in time to make a difference. Well, the discussion is not in the “could or could not” in relation to time, space and capability—the point is we should have tried. As another saying goes: “Always move to the sound of the guns.”

It is with a sense of duty as a retired General officer that I respectfully submit these thoughts and perspectives.

There seems, then, to be no getting around the fact that Hillary Clinton and/or President Obama failed to respond properly to a deadly attack in which four Americans were killed. Either they were grossly incompetent or criminally cynical. In the interest of accountability, we should find out which was the case.

Your blood should be boiling over Benghazi.  If it is not, then you are probably the victim of the other heinous villain of Benghazi: The American Media.  Their breathtaking betrayal will also live in infamy.  How can the Washington Press Corps live with their cowardice and compromise?

How is it possible for them to lay claim to the noble profession that tediously and relentlessly tracked down the crimes of Watergate when they are acting like belching lap dogs for Obama.  They refuse to face facts; they refuse to ask the hard questions.  They will do whatever they have to do to insulate a man that has shown nothing but contempt for them!

What makes you want to pull your hair out is that we do not know why.  Why Obama is allowed a pass for these crimes?  Now is the time for a groundswell of outrage from the general public!

You and I can no longer say that we did not know what this president did with our rights.  We cannot say Obama kept it from us. Benghazi is our national litmus test to see if we deserve to remain a free nation.  If we fail to find the rage, the love of liberty and the clear sense of how wrong Benghazi is, then we declaring ourselves unworthy of freedom.

HS Students Say Pledge In Arabic: ‘One Nation Under Allah’

HS Students Say Pledge In Arabic: ‘One Nation Under Allah’

588 rocky mountain high 610

The principal at Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins, Colorado, is facing a hailstorm of criticism from some very angry parents and residents.

The school recites the Pledge of Allegiance weekly, on Mondays. Last Monday, a member of their “Cultural Arms Club” led the student body in an Arabic version of the pledge, replacing the words “under God” with “under Allah.”

Principal Tom Lopez denies any attempt to push an Islamic agenda, saying, “These students love this country. They were not being un-American in trying to do this. They believed they were accentuating the meaning of the words as spoken regularly in English.”

Principal Lopez doesn’t make any sense. Speaking unintelligible words in Arabic in some way accentuates their meaning? That is an extremely weak argument in defense of an ill-advised decision.

He said the cultural clubs seeks to “destroy the barriers, embrace the cultures” that exist within the high school.

That would translate into “destroy the barriers to Islam and embrace it,” correct, Mr. Lopez?

The Poudre School District communications director, Danielle Clark, said they understand why parents are upset. She told Fox News, “We understand not everybody would agree with the students’ choice. We’ve heard there are some who are upset.”

Let’s put his into perspective for the feeble-minded Clark and Lopez. It is not the student’s choice. They do not control the public address system. It was a school choice.

Her simplistic defense included a reference to “one” supportive email and a reference to a similar mistake last year which drew controversy when the pledge was recited in Spanish. Somehow not learning from and expanding upon your previous mistakes is perceived as a viable defense for these educators.

An abdication of responsibility is also part of their defense. Clark attempted to pass the buck of responsibility to the students, saying, “This is a student-initiated and student-led club. There is no school sponsor or advisor. It doesn’t come under the umbrella of the district.”

Actually, the activity of reciting the pledge does come under the district. Choosing to put it into the hands of a group not regulated by their administrators does not provide absolution.

“We deferred to the students because it’s their deal,” she said.

One cultural club member, professing to not understand the controversy is Skyler Bowden. Bowden simplistically told The Coloradoan, “No matter what language it’s said in, pledging your allegiance to the United States is the same in every language.”

Given their youth, the high school students might understandably not recognize the problems with proclaiming America as “one nation under Allah.” The grownups should and they ought to be controlling the activity.

The Muslim Brotherhood front group CAIR chimed in saying, “Obviously in Arabic, you would use the word Allah, but Christian Arabs would use the word Allah.” Their spokesperson, Ibrahim Hooper, claimed use of the word Allah is “not necessarily specific to Islam and Muslims.” From an American point of view, it is, whether he is technically correct or not, to Americans, in America, it’s a specific Muslim and Islamic reference.

As if to reinforce the idiocy of reciting the pledge in another language, Clark said she did not hear the pledge and does not speak Arabic so she could not confirm exactly what words were used.

Lopez said he has been getting a variety of accusations leveled at him, including being called a traitor. He said, “They claim they are outraged, that this is blaspheming a real major tenet of our patriotism – which in their mind the Pledge of Allegiance is only in English.”

He said he’s also been accused of “pushing a Muslim Brotherhood agenda – to push Islam into the school.” He denies that was behind the decision.

CAIR representative Hooper told Fox News he was dumbfounded by complaints about the Arabic version of the pledge.

“How on earth is it un-American to recite the Pledge of Allegiance in another language,” Hooper asked. “It doesn’t make sense unless the people complaining are anti-Muslim or anti-middle eastern bigots.”

It just might be that Americans recognize the Islamic agenda, Mr. Hooper, and are tired of having it forced upon them. Maybe we know what you are up to and people are pushing back.

Principal Lopez said all of the criticism and complaints had him “worn down.”

Playing the tolerance card, Lopez labeled himself as the victim, stating, “I’ve been shocked with prejudicial statements that have been made. I’ve been shocked with the lack of seeking understanding. There’s definitely suspicion and fear expressed in these people’s minds. There’s some hate.”

One resident, Chris Wells put it in terms even educator Lopez could understand. Writing in The Daily Coloradoan, he said, “As a veteran and a friend of a man killed defending these children in their little games they like to play with our pledge, I’m offended. There are things that we don’t mess with – among them are the pledge and our anthem.”

Why can’t Obama run the government as smoothly as his campaign?

Why can’t Obama run the government as smoothly as his campaign?

The president increasingly seems to be battling top-level management failures as much as policy or political problems, observers say.

WASHINGTON — A year after his reelection triumph, President Obama is facing an awkward question from friends and foes alike: Why can’t he run the government as well as he ran his campaign?

What with the IRS targeting of tea party groups; the poor security at the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya; the eavesdropping on close allies; and the botched rollout of the landmark healthcare law, Obama increasingly seems to be battling top-level management failures as much as policy or political problems.

On each of these controversies, Obama has claimed ignorance before the fact and outrage afterward, leaving even some Democrats to see him as asleep at the wheel.

“There’s a sort of distance in his style,” said Elaine C. Kamarck, who led the Clinton administration’s government reform effort and now is at the nonpartisan Brookings Institution. “On the one hand, he’s not getting into terrible details like [President] Carter did. But on the other hand, it comes back to bite him because he seems to not know a lot of stuff that’s going on.”

That perception is growing. In public opinion surveys, Obama’s job performance numbers have dropped sharply this year. One poll last week showed his approval down to 42%, a rate comparable to that of President George W. Bushafter the horrors of Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

PHOTOS: The battle over Obamacare

Although unpredictable crises often upend presidents’ second terms, some of Obama’s worst problems seem self-inflicted.

The iPad-toting president who promised high-tech efficiency in government — even appointing the first chief performance officer, chief technology officer and team of innovation fellows at the White House — has launched his only major domestic policy program with a website that almost feels like a clunky relic from the dial-up age.

“They had a tech-savvy campaign, but that has very little to do with running a tech-savvy government because the presidency really doesn’t run in a management way,” saidWilliam Daley, Obama’s chief of staff from January 2011 to January 2012.

“The one kind of surprising thing, since this was the signature” domestic program, Daley said, “and for four years everybody knew this was a complicated, difficult thing to do, that there wasn’t a heavier kind of skepticism around the process…. Can the federal government bite off such an enormous thing?”

The underlying premise of the Obama presidency was an affirmative answer to that question. As a candidate, he vowed to restore government competence to earn back trust, and to make a case for expanding the government’s role in people’s lives.

“We simply cannot afford to perpetuate a system in Washington where politicians and bureaucrats make decisions behind closed doors, with little accountability for the consequences … and where outdated technology and information systems undermine efficiency, threaten our security and fail to serve an engaged citizenry,” Obama said in 2009 as he named Jeffrey Zients, a former corporate chief executive, as chief performance officer, a new title that borrowed from corporate culture.

PHOTOS: 2013’s memorable political moments

If the name is familiar, that’s because Obama tapped Zients again last month, calling him in to consult on the effort to fix the healthcare.gov website.

But Obama did not sustain the zeal for good management, Kamarck said. Initiatives that leaned heavily on updating technology, consumer-friendly interaction and trimming inefficiencies rarely got top billing at the White House.

He hardly discussed his attempt to scale back outside contracting, for example, disappointing those who called for reform. His effort to reorganize Commerce Department agencies that deal with small business stalled when it met resistance in Congress.

In 2012, Zients was named acting chief of the Office of Management and Budget. His previous duties, ensuring the government was setting and achieving performance goals, were shifted to another official. When a new chief performance officer was nominated in September, the post was announced via a news release with a list of nominees.

Inconsistency at the top is part of the problem, said Bob Stone, project director of the Clinton-era government reform effort, which was led by then-Vice President Al Gore. Gore devoted time every day to the project and stayed in close contact with agency heads.

In one of those meetings, during the federal government shutdowns in the mid-1990s, Gore learned that the Justice Department had furloughed its procurement staff, leaving no one to order food at federal prisons. The problem was fixed on the spot, Stone said.

“It seems to be that this White House has no chain to the top, even just the conventional ‘protect the boss’ standard that ought to be in place everywhere,” Stone said. “When something is about to burst, you warn the boss. That’s both a management issue and a political issue.”

THE ONE PHRASE THAT WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE NOW.

THE ONE PHRASE THAT WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE NOW.

By Mario Murillo

Experts say it is all going to get worse.  They say that crises—unlike anything we have faced before are on their way.   Here is a list of things they say are coming soon:

The persecution of American believers will accelerate: The enemies of the faith have redefined classic moral values to make them look like hatred.  Political Correctness has morphed into Enforced Correctness.  The church is no longer allowed to disagree and Christians are told by a government and the media that they must comply or face criminal charges.

Extended age and pension pressure means the collapse of welfare:  Most will not be able to stop working and spend their old age eking out an existence.  This one is a double whammy to many who are retiring right now.  Their savings, 401Ks, IRAs and pensions have shrunk while the number of years that they will need to finance has increased.  Suddenly, long life feels like a curse!

Health care is going to get much, much worse.  The quality is going to get miserable, doctors will refuse to work with insurance companies and costs for medicine and care will skyrocket.  This could not be happening at a worse time!   New diseases, viruses and emotional traumas will soon overtake society.

Political division guarantees that real solutions to America’s problems will not be found. Don’t look for common sense to come to Washington from either party.  They are too divided to act in the best interest of the people.

there is

We will see the worst decline of the church in our nation’s history.  Treasure was given away by a generation that did not know its Bible or what God has done in our history.

However there is one phrase and one attitude that will not only save your life but give you power that you never imagined.  There is one phrase that will make all of the difference in the world to your health physically and mentally.  There is one declaration that will pave the way for you to conquer anything that the future holds.

So what is the phrase—if it came roaring out of our spirit—would give us the upper hand over all of the insanity of this time?  The first clue comes from ancient times.

Archimedes, genius of antiquity discovered the laws of the lever.  He once wrote to King Hiero of Syracuse, whose kinsman and friend he was, that this force could be used to move any weight. He said, “Give me a place to stand and I will move the earth!”

King Hiero, who was absolutely astonished by the statement, asked him to prove it. In the harbor was a ship that had proved impossible to launch even by the combined efforts of all the men of Syracuse. Archimedes, who had been examining the properties of levers and pulleys, built a machine that allowed him to single-handedly move the ship from a distance away.

Thousands of years later man still conquers immovable objects with the science of levers and pulleys.

Now apply that principle to the work of the Holy Spirit.  WE HAVE DIVINE LEVERAGE TO MOVE WHATEVER STANDS IN OUR WAY.  He whom Jesus sent has come along side us to apply simple but irresistible force on all of our trials and tribulations.  It begins with this phrase that hit me like a lightning bolt:

THE END TIMES ARE NOT HAPPENING TO ME.  I AM HAPPENING TO THE END TIMES.

Is this an arrogant boast or worse a delusional boast?   Absolutely not.  Archimedes could never have imagined the pulleys and levers of divine destiny!  He took a stand and you must take a stand.  You must take your position in heaven.

HAPPENING

You are declaring that you are happening to the end times when you do these things:

1. Become catalytic.  A catalyst is any substance that causes or speeds up a chemical reaction without itself being changed or consumed. The hellish events of today cannot change you or consume you.

Now take a look at God.  He gives special grace for these last days.  Grace is not just favor.  It is not just forgiveness.  It is the combined power of the resurrection and the righteousness of Jesus Himself.   Paul talks about how the power of the Grace of God works through us to overtake our problems:

1 Corinthians 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

Colossians 1:29 To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.

We hear Daniel 11:32 “Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.”  We hear that verse quoted quite often but we may be failing to see the real good news in that promise and its direct bearing on what you are going through right now.  God will make His own  STRONG!

Because you know God you are protected from the corruption of this time.  Because you know God you will be stronger than these times.   Because you know God you will not merely survive these times, you will exploit them.

2.  Declare God’s power over your physical health.  He will restore your energy, He will oversee your immune system.  He will guard your heart so that your resistance to disease will be awesome.  Obamacare cannot begin to match the benefits of what Christ offers you now.

Psalm 103:1 Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! 2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: 3 Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, 4 Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies, 5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Isaiah 40: 31 But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

James 5:14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

You do not have to dread long lines at an emergency room when you claim Christ as your doctor and the guardian of your health!

3. Supernatural emotions will remove your fear of bad news, headlines and threats.

It is time for the people who quote, “Greater is He who is in me than he that is in the world, to also confess “greater is He who is in me than what is happening in the world.”

Psalm 112:7-8 “He will not be afraid of evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.”

God wants to give us supernatural emotions.  Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.”

John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

map and compass blog

God wants you to walk in the knowledge of His supernatural protection.  John 17:15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.

Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

The Lord God Almighty wants to be your supernatural provider and protector.

The NSA has been spying on Americans.  This has many believers up in arms.   Consider this: Satan already knew everything about you: Social Security Number, cell phone, driver’s license, and bank account numbers and your home address and because of Jesus’ prayer the devil is helpless to use it against you.  You are protected!

You are here for a big reason.  You are not the victim you are the victor. Here is a before and after snapshot for you in these two final verses:

Judges 6:13 “Gideon said to Him, “O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us?  This a man before his transformation and life is happening to him.

Romans 8: 31 “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” This is Paul asking the church a question about reacting to life when you know that God is for you.

I once sat next to a 19-year-old girl on a plane.  I said, “hi my name is Mario.”  She growled, “I know who you are! We did rituals to put a curse on you.”  Then she told me that she had married Satan!  She told me she could never be saved.  I just wanted to get through the flight but God had other plans.  I had settled for the role of the victim.

God spoke, “Tell her she can be saved and that you have proof.”  When I said this to her she softened but added “ok prove it to me!”  So I prayed and asked “what is the proof?”  The Lord replied, “Who is she sitting next to?  I didn’t put you next to her so you could become a Satanist.”  This changed everything!  She was delivered there and then.   An neither has God put you here to become a victim of the last days!

So now I am asking you the question: What shall we say to these terrible, evil, stressful things?  We shall say: THE END TIMES ARE NOT HAPPENING TO ME. I AM HAPPENING TO THE END TIMES!

Poll: Americans find little to like in Washington.

RAGE 2014

Poll: Americans find little to like in Washington.

By NEDRA PICKLER and JENNIFER AGIESTA

Oct 11, 3:32 AM (ET)

WASHINGTON (AP) – Americans are finding little they like about President Barack Obama or either political party, according to a new poll that suggests the possibility of a “throw the bums out” mentality in next year’s midterm elections

The AP-GfK poll finds few people approve of the way the president is handling most major issues and most people say he’s not decisive, strong, honest, reasonable or inspiring.

In the midst of the government shutdown and Washington gridlock, the president is faring much better than his party, with large majorities of those surveyed finding little positive to say about Democrats. The negatives are even higher for the Republicans across the board, with 4 out of 5 people describing the GOP as unlikeable and dishonest and not compassionate, refreshing, inspiring or innovative.

Negativity historically hurts the party in power – particularly when it occurs in the second term of a presidency – but this round seems to be hitting everyone. More people now say they see bigger differences between the two parties than before Obama was elected, yet few like what either side is offering. A big unknown: possible fallout from the unresolved budget battle in Washington.

b1-clancy-obamacare-card
“There needs to be a major change,” said Pam Morrison, 56, of Lincoln, Neb., among those who were surveyed. “I’m anxious for the next election to see what kind of new blood we can get.”The numbers offer warning signs for every incumbent lawmaker, and if these angry sentiments stretch into next year, the 2014 elections could feel much like the 2006 and 2010 midterms when being affiliated with Washington was considered toxic by many voters. In 2006, voters booted Republicans from power in the House and Senate, and in 2010, they fired Democrats who had been controlling the House.

Morrison describes herself as a conservative Republican and said she is very concerned about how her adult children are going to afford insurance under Obama’s health care law. She places most of the blame for the shutdown on the president, but she also disapproves of the job Congress is doing. “I don’t think they’re working together,” Morrison said.

“Congress needs to take a look at their salaries, they need to take a cut to their salaries and they need to feel some of the pain the American people are feeling,” said Morrison, who is married to a government worker who she said has been deemed essential and is still on the job.

People across the political spectrum voiced disappointment.

Suzanne Orme, a 74-year-old retiree and self-described liberal who lives in California’s Silicon Valley, says the shutdown is more the Republican Party’s fault. “The Republicans seem to be a bunch of morons who aren’t going to give in for anything. I just don’t get it with them. They are just crazy,” she said.

But she also said she strongly disapproves of the way Obama is handling his job, and doesn’t find him likable, decisive, strong, honest, compassionate, refreshing, ethical, inspiring or reasonable. The only positive attribute she gave him was innovative.

“It sounds like he’s kind of weak. He says one thing and does another,” Orme said after taking the survey. For example, she said Obama hasn’t made good on his promise to close the U.S. detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and changed his position on whether people should be penalized for failing to get health insurance.

“I voted for him, and he’s turned out to be a big disappointment,” she said. “I mean, what’s the alternative?” Orme said it just seems to her that Washington is run by lobbyists and consumed by financial greed.

A bad sign for Democrats is that Obama has bled support among independents – 60 percent disapprove of the way Obama is handling his job, while only 16 percent approve. As he began his second term in January, independents tilted positive, 48 percent approved and 39 percent disapproved.

Neither party can win without the support of independents, with only about a third of the poll’s respondents identifying themselves as Democrats and about a quarter as Republicans.

Obama has held onto support from Carol Cox, a 59-year-old independent from Hartville, Ohio, who says she feels the president helps people in need. She is happy to see his health care law that offers coverage to the uninsured and to people with pre-existing conditions, although she thinks the rollout could have been better. “I think he’s doing an OK job,” she said of the president.

But she is not happy with either party in Congress. She said the shutdown is affecting her family’s investments and she’s concerned about the future of Social Security. “I’m really angry and frustrated. I can’t believe how mad I am about this.”

As for next year’s congressional election, she said, “I would love to see just a total turnover.”

The AP-GfK Poll was conducted Oct. 3-7, 2013, using KnowledgePanel, GfK’s probability-based online panel. It involved online interviews with 1,227 adults and has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.4 percentage points for all respondents.

The survey was designed to be representative of the U.S. population. Respondents to the survey were first selected randomly using phone or mail survey methods and later interviewed online. Those who didn’t otherwise have access to the Internet were provided with the ability to get online at no cost.
