WHY CAN’T WE HEAL?

“Why is my pain perpetual and my wound incurable, which refuses to be healed?” (Jeremiah 15:18)

America has healed from the Civil War and two World Wars—why can’t we heal from 911?

September 11, 2001, 8:46 a.m. – Mohammed Atta and the other hijackers aboard American Airlines Flight 11 crash the plane into floors 93-99 of the North Tower of the World Trade Center, killing everyone on board and hundreds inside the building.

9:03 a.m. – Hijackers crash United Airlines Flight 175 into floors 75-85 of the WTC’s South Tower, killing everyone on board and hundreds inside the building.

Twin Towering infernos incinerate 3,000 innocent people, both the workers inside and the first responders who rushed in to help.   The flames flash a bright light into the abyss to reveal the blackest evil of our time—Islamic Terrorism.

The next 60 minutes are a living hell.

That hour brings several firsts:

  • The first time the whole nation felt terror
  • The first time that the Stock Market was closed for 4 days
  • The first time since the Second World War that tanks and military personnel patrol American streets.
  • The first time we saw $30 billion dollars’ in damage done in one hour, and an eventual financial loss we have not yet calculated.
  • The first time in recent history that America learned it was vulnerable to an attack from a foreign power.

Not since Pearl Harbor has any event had this much impact on every aspect of our way of life.

It happened 18 years ago today, and the wounds have still never healed.  Our pain continues.  Jeremiah asked, “Why is my pain perpetual and my wound incurable, which refuses to be healed?” (Jeremiah 15:18)

Ask yourself: Why have we not healed?  The disaster of 9/11 should have driven us to God.  Instead, we ran from Him.  We banned school prayer that we so desperately needed.  We censored the only message that could save us—the Gospel of salvation.  Instead of staying vigilant for the war that is being waged on our freedoms, we delved further into drugs, alcohol, and the pursuit of Mammon.  Losing our morals made us miserable—so what did we do?  We abandoned the few morals we had left.

Our leaders caved in to self-loathing.  We contracted syndromes!   We got battered wife’s syndrome: blaming America for the terror. And we contracted Stockholm Syndrome: sympathizing with all of the people who would do us harm.  We opened our borders and welcomed rapists, cartels, and killers, as if we had some great evil to atone for.

College students—who should rise up to the hard work of facing the future—instead give in to their self-pity and even turn it into a noble crusade…going forth to prove they could be offended by anything, and afraid of everything.

Villains are now victims and victims are now villains.  The only thing as ugly as 9/11, is our ugly and ongoing reactions to 9/11.

The whole world knows we are slouching toward Gomorrah.  North Korea knows it and flaunts its nuclear crimes.  Russia knows it and intimidates our pilots.  Iran knows it—demanding and receiving billions in ransoms from our president—then laughing in our face as they continue to expand their nuclear bomb program.  China knows it and openly displays contempt whenever possible.

Yes, it is the 18th anniversary of the one day that should galvanize our resolve to once again be the home of the brave.  We should weep over the loss of our loved ones, but especially over the loss of God’s blessing.  We should be repenting and returning to the roots of our greatness.

What will we see today?  Will we see overpaid, overrated, and coddled NFL players show total disdain to our anthem, our flag and this sacred day? In a way, that is a perfect picture of our nation.  America is asleep in the light.  We are comatose and utterly unaware that we are only setting ourselves up for the next unspeakable horror.  May God have mercy on us!

Is our doom sealed?

Not yet, but we must be overtaken with urgency.  Our time is almost up.  It rests with the people of God to seize this moment.  Just as when Abraham pleaded with God over Sodom, he found that Jehovah would spare the city for just 12 righteous men.  In the same manner, so will our Lord spare America for the fervent repentance of a few…if His people wake up.

Let us be among those who do wake up to our duty, even if others will not.  Only don’t offend truth by saying we are entitled to be spared.  Rather, let us be like the prophet Joel who faced certain doom with a hope of mercy.   On this day of all days, cry aloud and spare not. Forgiveness is still within our grasp.

“Now, therefore,” says the Lord,
“Turn to Me with all your heart,
With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.”
So, rend your heart, and not your garments;
Return to the Lord your God,
For He is gracious and merciful,
Slow to anger, and of great kindness;
And He relents from doing harm.
Who knows if He will turn and relent,
And leave a blessing behind Him…

(Joel 2:12-14a)

THE AMERICAN CHURCH STILL THINKS THIS IS A GAME

Soul-sucking disaster upon disaster, and yet America does not pray. But, I get why. The word of God says, “the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God…”1 Corinthians 2: 14.   What I don’t get is how the American church can still think this is a game.

The world is on fire.   Because of man, and nature—Earth is ready to explode.   Meanwhile the church—like a party on the deck of the Titanic—pats herself on the back for her “big events.”

Nothing has stopped—or even slowed down—America’s depravity.   We have spent more money, time, and talent than ever—yet the church never asks, why we keep doing things that don’t work?

When the church

-Feeds a sick nation, a sick gospel, that does not deliver from evil, and worse, makes the already converted weaker, we must think it is a game.

-When the enemy is no longer the works of Satan, but the unsuccessful life—we are playing a game.   We must return to the Bible.  The Bible needs to set fire to our sermons.

Many of my Spirit-filled acquaintances are also playing games.  Facebook is like a Petri dish for Pentecostals.  In one compressed medium, you witness the banal bacteria that excites Charismatics today. Witness the games:

-Titles like Prophet and Apostle are flung around indiscriminately.  Every garish emotional experience is hawked as being from God.  One “prophet” says he went back in time and visited Moses.  Who of us has not scratched our heads at preachers, in ill-fitting jeans, live-streaming from a near-empty church, that they are the vessel of the hour?

– “conferences promise that you will get “a word from God” for a fee… as if the Holy Spirit was On Demand.  Or they offer formulas to “activate” blessings.  This is New Age philosophy.  God is not a force to manipulate—He is an awesome person to be adored and obeyed.  Gift arrive, as the Spirit wills, to hearts broken—emptied of self—for the lost, the poor, and the forsaken.

-Everything seems based on angelic visitations, dreams, visions and trips to heaven.  Most of our time is spent on these “experiences” and not on rock-solid instruction from the Word of God.

I believe in dreams, prophecy, healing, angels and visions.   But if they are from God they will drive us to the front line of the culture and not into emotional safe zones.   “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty to the tearing down of strongholds.” -2 Corinthians 10:4    We are nowhere near strongholds because we think it’s a game.

Beloved, this is not a game.  Christians toying with materialism, celebrity, alcohol, compromise and carnality spell doom for America.   Google, Facebook, Apple, YouTube and the rest of Silicon Valley threaten to pull the plug on churches.  Every day they inch closer to censorship.  Will your zany videos matter if no one can see them?

Our preaching ricochets off a culture careening into indescribable debauchery.  Soon it will illegal to preach the doctrines you are now ignoring.  What a horror!  Pastor you wake up one day with remorse over the truths you ignored—but now they’re banned.

Mario is there any hope?  My hope in God’s fierce love for America.  He will not let this nation go without a fierce fight.  My hope is in some of the last people you’d expect.

My hope is in the discouraged preacher.  Honest-to-God preachers who feel like fools when they see the runaway success of compromise.  Psalm 73:12 says, “Behold, these are the ungodly, who are always at ease; They increase in riches. 13 Surely, I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocence. 14 For all day long I have been plagued, and chastened every morning.”

My hope is in those who chose to fail honestly rather than succeed artificially.

Are you struggling with decreasing numbers and falling finances, even as you present a Christ-centered, Bible based pulpit?   God sees you! Hold on just a little longer.  Fire is coming that will cause a stampede and you won’t know where to put the crowds.

My hope is in the Christian nobodies.  Have you failed?  Did man take away your pulpit?  Get ready…your brokenness is a key to the fire of God in this hour.  A nationwide hunger for reality is about to make shallowness obsolete.

Are you a teacher, business person, police officer or stay at home mom?  Do you burn with a passion for your community?  Get ready for vision and anointing right where you live!

The hour is so dangerous that God must bring down religious empires and promote others to great power and influence.  Satan is also playing games.  I believe that God—through the last people we expect—is about to teach Satan what war really looks like.

Vice President Mike Pence leaves Colts-49ers game after players reportedly kneel

Vice President Mike Pence spoke out on Sunday about why he left a football game between the Indianapolis Colts-San Francisco 49ers game.

“I left today’s Colts game because @POTUS and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem,” Pence tweeted.

This was his actual tweet.

Several 49ers players reportedly knelt for the anthem on Sunday in Indianapolis.

Last year, while a quarterback for the 49ers, Kaepernick sat or kneeled during the national anthem at football games, protesting the police treatment of minorities.

According to a report by Jason La Canfora on Sunday, Kaepernick has been living in New York and working out privately in New Jersey with the hope of signing with a team this season.

Kaepernick kneeled during the national anthem last season to bring more attention to the killings of black men by police officers.

The NFL is now the least popular professional sport.

Over just one month of playercoach, and owner protests of the flag and National Anthem, the National Football League has gone from America’s sport to the least liked of top professional and college sports, according to a new poll.

From the end of August to the end of September, the favorable ratings for the NFL have dropped from 57 percent to 44 percent, and it has the highest unfavorable rating – 40 percent – of any big sport, according to the Winston Group survey provided exclusively to Secrets.

Final note: Former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, said today,  he’d stand for the national anthem if he can play in the NFL once more.  In others words, the guy who started the protests will stop, ” if you pay me.”

It’s just not right

There is no version of kneeling during the national anthem that is right.  Of course, you have the right to do it, but it is just not right.  I raised my son to know the difference between civil and moral law—to know what you have a right to do—and the right thing to do.

It’s just not right

By Mario Murillo

There is no version of kneeling during the national anthem that is right.  Of course, you have the right to do it, but it is just not right.  I raised my son to know the difference between civil and moral law—to know what you have a right to do—and the right thing to do.

Men, you have the right to leave your wife of 30 years, hook up with a bimbo and ignore your children for the rest of your life.  It’s just not right.  You have the right to look at porn but it’s just not right.  You have the right to drop F bombs in front of women, cut in line, and pass gas in an elevator.  It’s just not right.

You kneelers, in the NFL are clueless about how you look.  You have no idea how deeply you have offended tens of millions of Americans of all races.  You can’t image how impossible it is—for any reasonable, hard-working American—to see you coddled, multi-millionaires, as oppressed victims.

But Mario, I am trying to bring attention to injustice and racism.  For real?  By attacking the very symbol of our fight against those things?  By doing it in front the families whose loved ones  paid with their lives to defend the flag?

You have have not shown how, such a mindless offensive act, advances the cause of racial justice.  The only conversation you have started is about boorish behavior.  Of course, the usual suspects on the left will hail your tantrums.  They want chaos no matter what package it arrives in.

And of course, you are darlings of the entertainment industry who are so delirious with Trump derangement syndrome that any shot at the president is welcomed.

Don’t let the current fever fool you.  When it all settles, and God-fearing, patriotic Americans get their say, and reason prevails, you, the cheese will stand alone.  So let me ask you:

-If it is police brutality you are targeting why not kneel in front a police station?

-If lives are what you care about, how about kneeling in front of a crack house?

-If lives matter then kneel to the reality of devastating black on black violence.

Even the near-sighted can see how many of you “protest” in the bubble of celebrity, and then escape in fine cars to your mansions.

Yes, I give Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys half credit—but his act of kneeling with the players before the anthem is like the parent that says, “I know you are going to smoke, so let’s smoke together on the porch.”

Senator Dan Quayle once compared himself to John F. Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States during a debate with Senator Lloyd Bentsen.  Bentsen replied, “Senator, I served with Jack Kennedy. I knew Jack Kennedy. Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine. Senator, you’re no Jack Kennedy.

I lived in Berkeley in the 70’s I saw true protesters with true courage force the nation to face issues.  They sacrificed.  I knew these protesters and you kneelers…are not those protesters.

SINGER KNEELS, WEARS BLACK LIVES MATTER SHIRT WHILE SINGING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM

  • Denasia Lawrence sang the national anthem before NBA game in Miami
  • As she sang she knelt, following lead of NFL player Colin Kaepernick
  • Lawrence sang before the Miami Heat played the Philadelphia 76ers
  • Miami Heat linked arms in a sign of unity before start of the game
  • Kneeling for anthem has become a protest against racial discrimination

A woman performing the national anthem before an NBA preseason game in Miami on Friday night did so while kneeling at midcourt, and opening her jacket to show a shirt with the phrase ‘Black Lives Matter’.

The singer was identified by the Heat as Denasia Lawrence. It was unclear if she remained in the arena after the performance, and messages left for her were not immediately returned.

Heat players and coaches stood side-by-side for the anthem, all with their arms linked as has been their custom during the preseason.

Many had their heads down as Lawrence sang, and the team released a statement saying it had no advance knowledge that she planned to kneel.

We felt as a basketball team that we would do something united, so that was our focus,’ Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said.

‘Throughout all of this, I think the most important thing that has come out is the very poignant, thoughtful dialogue.

‘We’ve had great dialogue within our walls here and hopefully this will lead to action.’

The anthem issue has been a major topic in the sports world in recent months, starting with the decision by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick to not stand for its playing.

Kaepernick cited racial injustice and police brutality among the reasons for his protest, and athletes from many sports — and many levels, from youth all the way to professional — have followed his lead in various ways.

 OUR REACTION:
Darrell Bernard Harrison isn’t a famous writer. He doesn’t go on television to create juicy viral soundbites while arguing with Marc Lamont Hill about racism. Darrell is a black man who loves God and loves his community.  I am posting his comments because it nails it

I read an article a moment ago about a black female who took to one knee while performing the national anthem last night during an NBA game. So, in the spirit of fairness and balance, I thought I’d post a list of issues about which black people will never take a knee:

– the legal murder of more than 17 million unborn black babies since Roe v. Wade in 1973
– the refusal of the federal government to allow parental choice in determining at what school their children should be educated
– the 73 percent rate at which black children are reared in single-parent homes
– the 72 percent out-of-wedlock birth rate of black children
– an increasingly burdensome tax code that forces black parents to work longer hours resulting in less time spent with their children
– a punitive healthcare law that is forcing many black households into bankruptcy because the premiums and penalties are unaffordable
– a double-digit black unemployment rate which is influenced by a liberal immigration policy that encourages and accommodates violating the law under the guise of “fulfilling a dream”
– an increasingly high rate of HIV- infected black men and women in black urban and suburban neighborhoods
– the decades-long impact of liberal policies that have only served to exacerbate poverty and government dependency in urban communities, despite the fact that 95 percent of black voters support the political party that endorses those policies
– the rate at which black people commit violent crimes against other black people

Not trying to start an argument. I’m just sick of the hypocrisy.

NFL Ratings Continue to Plunge in Third Week of National Anthem Protests

By WARNER TODD HUSTON

For the third consecutive week, ratings for the National Football League (NFL) have plummeted, as players continue anti-American protests during the playing of the national anthem. This week’s drop-off also coincided with the Monday broadcast of the first presidential debate between Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton.

Ratings for Sunday Night Football featuring the Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys scored a 12.9 Nielsen rating, down from the game’s 13.7 rating last week. Week two, in turn, was down from week one’s 13.9 rating, according to Sports Business Daily. Ratings also dropped more than they did during week three a year ago for the slate of midday regional games, falling by 18 percent.

NFL viewership continues its rocky start to ’16; “MNF” hit hard by the presidential debate.

Monday Night Football performed even worse. Monday’s game between the Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints received a low 5.7 rating, a 38 percent plunge from week three of last year.

Notably, the game was competing against the first presidential debate between Trump and Clinton, an event that earned the biggest debate audience in U.S. political history.According to CNN Money, the September 26 debate brought in more than 80 million viewers.

But the NFL has also been suffering under the anti-American protests during the playing of the national anthem, which San Francisco 49ers second string quarterback Colin Kaepernick started three weeks ago.

Since Kaepernick decided to sit out the anthem instead of standing at attention as everyone else was doing, a host of other players across the NFL have joined him in his attack on the United States.

Some have decided to emulate Kaepernick’s action of staying seated during the anthem. Others took up his secondary protest of kneeling in the field during the song. Still others have taken to raising the militant black power fist in the air during the anthem.

Not content with his on-field protests, Kaepernick has continued his anti-American rants off the field. Recently, as a rejoinder to GOP nominee Donald Trump, he said the United States was never great.

“He always says, ‘Make America great again,’” Kaepernick said of Trump. “Well, America has never been great for people of color and that’s something that needs to be addressed. Let’s make America great for the first time.”

Since his first attempt to criticize the country, Kaepernick’s anti-American protest has spread to other sports, including high school and college athletics.

WHY THE WOUND OF 911 NEVER HEALS

WHY THE WOUND OF 911 NEVER HEALS

Why is my pain perpetual and my wound incurable, Which refuses to be healed? -Jeremiah 15:18
