God’s wake up call to California

Of course, people are going to hate this blog. Of course, even some believers will be offended and think we are setting ourselves up as some sort of ‘saviors’ of the state. But nothing could be further from the truth. We are not heroes. And neither are we delusional about our small role in what will be a gigantic miracle.

What I am saying is that God is sending the Golden State a wake-up call. He is shaking, purifying and rebuilding. God-haters beware. Look out you who have your hearts set on a fully secular, socialist state with no place for the Christian church.  God is rolling up His sleeves to do a work—a work of extremes.

This impending act of God will consist of both extreme joy and extreme terror. Watch for those who shake their fists at God. They will find themselves fighting against God—and losing that fight!  He will take away your sleep. He will remove your arrogance. He will defeat your most trusted weapons. He will take down your secret tactics. He will turn the tide of public opinion against you.

These are the days of Elijah! This is California’s reckoning with truth and righteousness. God has surveyed the cities. He has heard and heeded the cries of His intercessors.  He has had enough of what we are doing to the children.

The roar of the words of the Psalmist is heard on high: “It is time for You to act, O God, for they have regarded your word as void.” (Psalm 119: 126)

It is only one tent, but it matters very much what has happened under this tent in Dinuba California. Yes, the sick have been healed. Yes, the lost have charged into the Kingdom. But, above all that, an army has formed. I saw their eyes last night. I felt their fire last night.

They are a new breed of believer—the kind that multiplies faster than anyone can know, and who will reach out with power like no Christians before them. They are ready. They are coming.  And, they will multiply in numbers unseen since Azusa Street and the Jesus Movement.

God’s wake up call to the God-haters is simple: You have held sway over California for too long and your days are numbered, and your agenda is coming to an end.

But God’s wake-up call to the church in California is even greater.

  1. God is saying to every pastor here to stand your ground. Stay on message. Hold on, for fire is about to fall on the smaller churches, the hungry churches, regardless of size. The watchword is: “STAY!” Don’t give the cities away. Don’t sell out and move to a “safer” state.

Acts 14:3 says, “Therefore they stayed there a long time, boldly in the Lord, Who was bearing witness to the word of His grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands.”

You are not just to stay, but to make signs and wonders your weapon to stem the tide of evil. Let miracles flow. Preach a pure message—a message that God can crown with miracles.

  1. Pray the Lord of the Harvest. Matthew 9:37 Then (Jesus) said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

Each night the crowd is amazed to see the river of souls flowing to Christ. It’s no accident! We sent out workers. We went into the nests of evil to extract treasures out of the darkness.

The wake-up call California Christians need is this: God is not fascinated by your programs and slick presentations. He is trying to save and deliver millions here who currently writhe in untold misery. Believers here seem think this is someone else’s job. That is why we lost the state: because we thought someone else was doing that job.

People mean well when they walk up to me and say, “Mario, you are doing a good work.” I reply, “No, I am not doing a good work…I am doing the work.” This work is OUR work. It is the real work of the church. Everything else is just distraction—something we made up and called it the work.

  1. The state can be destroyed. That reality must set in. As glorious as these tent meetings are, I can’t dwell on them. As beautiful as the healings are, I can’t linger there. Compassion clings to me. Urgency overwhelms me.

‘Revival’ or ‘Rot’ is California’s next destination.

Right now, the Lord of the harvest is sending out laborers into His harvest.  It is time for every believer to find their place in the work, and join us.

The evil that is being worshipped here cannot continue indefinitely. At some point justice will be handed down by the God of Justice.

God has two words for everyone who reads this: WAKE UP!

Dinuba is a sign and a warning

It was exactly five years ago today that I stood before a group of leaders in California and made this prediction: “The church in California has five years. Churches here will either become soul winning centers, or they will end up asylums filled with disgruntled believers who will drain the life out of their leaders.”

I went on to tell them that Hollywood, the state government, tech companies and education would become militantly Left Wing and assault the freedom of religion. Five years is up, and that is exactly where we are.

Many say I should just be rejoicing over the dramatic healings that took place last night in Dinuba. I should be dancing in the spirit over all the souls that are being saved. Indeed, the tent is a sacred center for mighty acts of God. And yes, it is true that many amazing things are happening.

This visitation is so very full of hope, love and joy, that as I exited the tent they brought the mayor of Dinuba to me and he grabbed my hand and shook it, and said, “Thank you so much for coming to Dinuba.”

It is Tuesday afternoon October 8th and, while I am rejoicing, I am sober with a soberness that feels like an impending disaster.

We have had to add chairs every night. The worship has been pure and forceful. Souls have been sobbing at the altar as they received Jesus as Lord. Yet over all this glory hangs an ominous cloud of uncertainty.

It has reminded me of when Jesus rode toward Jerusalem. “As He approached the road leading down from the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of His disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen: “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” (Luke 19:37-38)

From every angle you would conclude that Jesus is finally being given the glory and adulation that is due Him. Was this finally His great breakthrough? He knew better. Even as Jesus saw the crowds adoring Him, He knew it was too late. The city had been warned, and a deadline had been crossed: God had passed sentence on Jerusalem.

Luke 19 goes on: 41: “Now when Jesus approached and saw the city, He wept over it, 42 saying, “If you had only known on this day, even you, the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. 43 For the days will come upon you when your enemies will build a siege mound against you and surround you and close in on you from every side. 44 They will demolish you—you and your children within your walls—and they will not leave within you one stone on top of another, because you did not recognize the time of your visitation from God.”

Every night under our tent has seen ever increasing blessings and power. Whereas hundreds used to come, now thousands come. We began with a flow of miracles and souls—now it’s a flood. But will it be enough to avert the judgment of God on California? That question is burning a hole in my heart.

Just because our meetings are awesome doesn’t guarantee statewide revival, anymore than Jesus’ ride through the cheering crowds meant Jerusalem would be saved.

What was the crime that sent Jerusalem to its death? My friend, it’s the same crime that will surely bury our hopes and dreams for California. Jesus declared the reason in verse 44: “because you did not recognize the time of your visitation from God.”

The emotional mood swings are enough to cripple me. I go to the heights of faith when I see the people who are standing with us. Their fervor is astonishing. They run all over the city and bring in the lost and the sick.  Inner City Action led by Frank Saldana is an army that causes me to have total faith that revival is coming.

And then there is the attack of discouragement that tries to hit Mechelle and me.  It’s not the insanity of Sacramento that does it. It is not the foolishness of Hollywood actors who don’t know what they are talking about. It isn’t the media.  It’s not even the horrible headlines of homelessness, addiction and violence

My heartache comes from leaders—leaders who labor under the delusion that there is plenty of time.  And, who believe there is no need for repentance or urgency.  These leaders do not recognize the time of God’s visitation.

Forget about me. I am not the catalyst to revival. I am not the chief source of anything for California. But for heaven’s sake, you pastors need to at least preach revival—at least call your people to prayer—at least speak out! For one thing is certain, there is not an infinite amount of time left.

Recently, a large church chose not to support us. The leader claimed that he thought we were not financially accountable—which is an absurd claim when you consider that the Charitable Navigators once gave us a 4 star rating—the same as Billy Graham!  It turns out that it was about money—but not our money—his money! He was “reaching out” to the LGBTQ community. That part is great, but here’s the sad truth: That community tithes to his church and he feared that my stance on marriage would cut off their giving.

Whether I am told to avoid preaching holiness or “politics” (another absurdity), it is grievous because they are not aware of the time of God’s visitation. Again, it is not about me. Go ahead and reject me, but when I see you doing nothing to embrace the moving of the Holy Spirit in any form, it grieves my spirit.

No matter what, I will press on. I will stand in the tent in our little corner of our calling and declare it:

THIS IS THE HOUR OF GOD’S VISITATION ON CALIFORNIA.

GROUND ZERO CHURCHES

Right before our eyes, the church is changing. The great focus of the soul-searching taking place in our lifetime is happening right now, and it is happening in mega-churches. Many of these super-congregations are realizing that they have reached the limits of their relevance to Americans.

Many leaders are coming to this shocking conclusion: Satan has done a number on us. Many now say the devil used a counterfeit church-growth model to deceive the gullible and discourage the faithful.   When righteous pastors looked at the staggering growth of Seeker Churches, they felt overwhelmed and even wounded.  They wondered, “What am I doing wrong?  Am I a fool to hold on to my integrity?”

Growth seminars have proliferated all over America and they have preyed on weak Pastors. David Wilkerson said, “Ministers from small churches are being told, in so many words, ‘Attend this mega-church pastor’s seminar, and you will find the keys to success. You‘ll eventually have a church as big as his.’”

Yet these ‘keys to success’ are only causing pastors to become more discouraged. They end up being convinced that they are failures if they do not see spectacular growth.  They tell me, “I am not doing anything significant for God. He just isn’t using me.”

Many mega church experts now admit that ‘making nice’ with secular America did not have any impact on the spread of violence, perversion, and atheism.  To their dismay, they now confess that these things have greatly accelerated on their watch.  After our complete makeover and compromise of the Gospel message, society ended up hating us even more.

We have been trashed, bashed, and left for dead.  Now it is time for the Body of Christ to push back on all of the lies, threats, and ominous predictions about our demise.  America is ripe for the church to make a massive comeback.  You heard me, a massive comeback!

I know that all the experts are saying that the Church has lost America and will never get it back.  These kinds of lies have made the rounds for centuries.  Usually, they pronounce that the church is dead—right before a major revival takes place.  The last time I saw it was when the “God is dead” movement swept America in the 1960’s—only to be swallowed up by the Jesus Movement.

To see this take place we will need a new Church model, one that looks nothing like what we see today.   We need ‘Ground Zero Churches.’

Christian leader: take heed. I am pleading with you to consider a dynamic option for your church.  I want you to consider becoming a Ground Zero Church. That consists of a strong and healthy church which grows without stress, compromise, endless striving, or vicious competition.

Let’s define a Ground Zero Church.  They are the epicenter for God’s dealing with a specific region. They are a body of believers that have made the supreme covenant with God.  Here are the features of a Ground Zero Church:

1. They believe that God can do it here.  I wonder what would happen if, let’s say, we got a jumbo jet packed full of fired up Bible College students on their way to the mission field. We take off out of New York’s Kennedy Airport, headed for a country somewhere overseas.  Instead, we order the pilot to make very wide circles over the Atlantic for hours, finally landing somewhere in New Jersey.  As soon as we get off, we are hustled into vans and dropped in New York City.

I am convinced that they will raise the dead, save thousands, and deliver many from demonic oppression, and signs and wonders will abound— just because they think they are overseas.

Many Christians have deluded themselves into thinking that the reason miracles are not happening in America today is because the poor in foreign nations have a more simple faith. They think Americans are just ‘too sophisticated’ to respond.  The Bible paints a much different picture.  In Acts, God knocked Saul of Tarsus, the zealot-intellectual-Pharisee, flat on the ground.  He became the Apostle Paul, the chief architect of the New Testament Church.  And when the Holy Spirit first fell upon the Gentiles, it was in the house of Cornelius, a Roman Centurion, a powerful man of wealth and influence.

 2. Ground Zero Churches allow the Holy Spirit to transform their congregation into a core zone of irresistible glory:  Paul described the overpowering effect a church gathering could have on the outside world: 24 “But if all of you prophesy, and an unbeliever or an uninformed person comes in, he is convinced by all, he is convicted by all. 25 And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed; and so, falling down on his face, he will worship God and report that God is truly among you.” (1 Corinthians 14:24-25)

Matthew Henry commented on these verses, “God can, when he pleases, strike awe upon the worst of men, by the tokens of his presence in the assemblies of the faithful, and force them to acknowledge that God is with them of a truth.”

There are many examples of places where the overwhelming presence of God dropped hardened sinners to their knees.

-A reporter from London came to Wales to investigate the Welsh revival.  The presence he felt when he entered Wales shocked him. He exclaimed, “This is a nation haunted by God!”

-During the Great Awakening, hardened sailors on clipper ships reported being seized with conviction of sin when they entered certain zones off the American coast.

-When Jonathan “Praying” Hyde walked past the door to the bar at a hotel, sinners dropped off of their bar stools onto their knees and began weeping under the powerful conviction of the Holy Spirit.

-There are many true stories about revivals that took place in churches where the presence of God was so powerful that people who were just driving past the church would find their cars turning into the parking lot on their own. When the drivers got out, they were so overpowered by the Holy Spirit that they practically had to crawl to the door of the church. They would come, weeping, down to the altar to get saved.

3. Ground Zero Churches pull the trigger that God has hidden in their culture.

Throughout history, obedient missionaries who listened to God and observed the way God had prepared a culture through history, detonated revivals.  This gave them a supernatural relevance:

-700 B.C. a plague kills one third of the population of Athens.  Epimenides, a teacher who believed in the one true God, orders the city leaders to sacrifice prize rams and the plague stops.  They build an altar to the unknown God.  Paul pulls the trigger 744 years later, in Acts 17:23, “I even noticed that you have an altar to the unknown God.  He Whom you ignorantly worship, I openly proclaim!”

-Koreans had a name for God that did not come from any pagan religion.  White missionaries refused to call God by that Korean name, thinking it would be a compromise.  Finally, while in prayer, one of the missionaries realized that this name was the result of the dealing of God long ago in Korean history. The moment that He called God by that Korean name, revival exploded.

-The Lihue Indians wore knots of rope around their wrists.  A missionary from England, realizing that this was a symbol for their slavery to sin, preached that Christ cut these rope bands when He died on the cross.  Pandemonium struck, as tens of thousands of the Lihue started sobbing and begging to have their bands cut off.

We cannot fear what our culture looks like right now.  The Holy Spirit already has a message and a plan that is uniquely designed for this present darkness.  Seek the Lord and believe that He not only wants to, but that He will change your church into a Ground Zero Church, and save this lost nation of ours.

THEY ARE SAYING

Satan has seduced many believers into separating the Holy Spirit and the Bible—by pitting them against each other.  The Bible not only predicted this deception, it exposed the motive behind it.

2 Timothy 4:3 says “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers…”

What they can’t endure is the Bible.  They play the ‘God card’ in order to fulfill their lusts, and then blame the Holy Spirit.

Many parents have had the following experience: They tell one of their children, “Go tell your sister, ‘Daddy says it’s time for bed.’”  Before very long, your children will begin using those magic words, “Daddy says”—even when Daddy didn’t say. That is one of the dangers of not judging prophecy. It is easy to use the words, “God told me that!” when anyone wants to shut down any word of correction, or to justify questionable behavior.

The current practices among Christians of drinking, carousing, and blatant New Age preaching, did not creep into the church overnight.  It insinuated itself slowly, quietly, and under the cover of good intentions. It began in small doses.  One preacher said, “Why do we trust a Book they (the early church) didn’t have, more than the Spirit that they did have?”  Another preacher said, “We’re not supposed to worship a Book.”

They will tell you they trust in the voice of the Spirit more than a Book.  What they are really hearing is their own voice…or worse.  They don’t deny the inerrancy of Scripture; they simply claim that they are receiving direct revelation from God that is equal to the Bible.

Bible study has become passé.  Many seek constant prophetic words.  They trust these words without comparing them against Scripture.

The Holy Spirit has become on-demand.  You’ve all seen the Facebook ads where “prophets” will give you a daily ‘word from the Lord.’  Some even charge money to give you a prophetic word.

A young revivalist claimed to get more from “an angel” than from the Bible.  He even wrote on his website, “I have had experiences in the Spirit that cannot be explained by the Bible.”  Not long after this, he left his wife and children for his secretary.  He is still in ministry, and still defending his experience.

People blame all kinds of things on “leadings of the Holy Spirit.”

“The Spirit told me I can leave my husband and children because He wants me to be happy.”

“You may not like the way I dress, but the Holy Spirit does.”

One preacher even compared the Spirit to marijuana, and said, “I am toking the Ghost.”

The following conversation actually took place:

Him: “I am not just forgiven for the sins I have committed, I am also forgiven in advance for the ones I will commit.  Therefore, I never need to repent or confess my sin.”

Me: “That’s crazy, 1 John 1:8 says, ‘If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.’”

Him: “Oh, well, that wasn’t written to Christians.”

Me: “No Bible scholar believes that.  In any case, that means the Apostle John wasn’t a Christian, because he said ‘if we.’ Where did you get this idea?”

Him: “It was revealed to me by the Spirit.”

Addiction to alcohol, drugs, pornography, and a host of other vices, will overtake believers when the natural protection of the Bible is removed.  Psalm 119:11 says, “Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.”

Why am I condemning all of this?  Because the Bible commands me to do so: “But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth, commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.” (2 Corinthians 4:2)

This heresy of tuning out the Bible, in order to hear the Spirit, has flooded the church with the most carnal and self-centered believers ever.  To reject the Bible, while seeking a word from God, is to toy with witchcraft.

The Holy Spirit and the Bible exist in unbreakable agreement.  The Spirit will take you to the Bible, and the Bible will take you to the Holy Spirit.

One of the prime purposes for Jesus sending the Holy Spirit was to help us understand and remember the Bible. “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” (John 14:26)

You can be sure that if you are not regularly reading the Bible, God will avoid speaking to you through prophecy.  To neglect reading the Words of Life creates a dangerous habit.  Without a biblical foundation, you will have no way to judge prophetic words.

The superiority of the Bible over the prophetic is clearly shown by the fact that, although we are told to judge prophecy, we are never told to judge Scripture. Remember: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness…”

(2 Timothy 3:16)

Daily Bible study is a hallmark of those who seek the Truth.  In Acts 17: 11 we find the story of a group of believers who were praised for their diligent Bible study: “Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.”

True revival is always Bible based.  True preaching will always quote Scripture liberally.

We are at a crucial point in America.  If the Body of Christ doesn’t repent of this foolishness, our nation is sunk.  That is no longer the mindless wrangling of doomsday prophets—it is a clear reality.

However, there is great hope.  The combination of the Word of God confirmed and revealed by the Holy Spirit, will more than match today’s wickedness.

God knew that the insanity of today was coming. He took steps to prepare the hearts of a group of believers who would enter into a special relationship with Himself. He did so, in order to produce special powers for His children.

But, if even only a small remnant repents, gets back in the Word, and obeys the Holy Spirit, God will build an army that will prevail.  1 Samuel 14:6 gives us an example: “Then Jonathan said to the young man who bore his armor, ‘Come, let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised (Philistines); it may be that the Lord will work for us. For nothing restrains the Lord from saving by many or by few.’”

Be a Berean! Study the Word of God, and listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit. Become one of those ‘many or few’ who will bring this nation back to God!

I SEE

A miracle is coming to the Central Valley of California.

That is an astonishing thing for anyone to say, for several reasons. Not long ago, five cities in the Central Valley made the list of the Top Ten Worst Cities in America.

Why I believe a miracle is coming:

The good people of this region have been hit by everything you can imagine, including drought, foreclosures, drug addiction, gang violence, massive homelessness, and breathtaking political abuse by Sacramento.

When California received $410 million in 2012 as part of a nationwide settlement with major banks accused of abusive foreclosures, Gov. Jerry Brown used $331 million of that money to pay state agencies in housing and other programs in order to cover their deficits.  Kamala Harris knew about this but kept silent. Now California has lost a lawsuit, and this money must be paid out to the victims.

The Central Valley was not even on my radar. Five years ago my bags were packed to move out of California. I was moving away and thinking, “Maybe it is time to pass the mantle on to someone else, and retire.” Then my nation went crazy.

That is when the dream was given to me—a life changing dream.

The dream happened during an afternoon nap between services in Stockton. I believe that this dream was meant to encourage the people of that city. Especially because of what was in the dream.

It was the kind of dream that I tell people they need to handle with caution. In the dream I was suspended high above California, and I could clearly see Highway 99, all the way from Red Bluff to the end of 99 at Laval Road in Arvin, California.

Suddenly, as I watched, Highway 99 was transformed and became a river! Trees started popping up on the banks of the river. The voice of the Lord said, “This highway shall be a corridor of my Glory.”

Five years pass, and I am invited on the TruNews Network with Rick Wiles. Next thing I know, he has donated an 8,000 square foot, brand spanking new tent, as well as 1,000 chairs from the luxury boxes of an NFL stadium. What a miracle!

God then revealed to me that this tent was to move south and follow Highway 99, and that the river I had seen would flow in the tent, healing innumerable sicknesses and would bring in a massive harvest of souls.

Now, here we are—watching the fulfillment of that dream. Indeed, the river has flowed south from Marysville, CA, then through Paradise, CA and the current intensified in Stockton. Now we are watching the unimaginable as the river is about to reach to Dinuba, Hanford and Fresno.

As I write this to you, thousands of people are experiencing an amazing dealing of God in these cities. There is something in the air—it is vibrating with hope and faith.

People like to use the expression: ‘something has shifted,’ but that feels woefully inadequate to explain the unity that is emerging among leaders—the expectancy in the people—and the acceleration that seems to be coming.

With all my heart, I know we are about to hit the mean streets in these cities and pull treasures out of darkness. We are about to feed the masses of poor and unsheltered.

Nothing will be able to stop the explosion of praise that will erupt when the miracles, that I know are coming, arrive.

Why am I telling you this? In order to fulfill this dream, we need workers. Why not join in something so wonderful that if Jesus tarries, people will be talking about it 30 years from now?

Many people have asked me, “What kind of workers do you need?” My question back to you is, “What do you want to do? Do you want to hit the streets and watch gangsters delivered? Do you want to help organize a statewide night of prayer in Chukchansi stadium? Do you want to be an usher in any of the services? Do you want to pray with those who come to Jesus?

“Do you want distribute food and clothing in homeless camps? What about helping with our massive children’s outreach in Fresno in November? Are you willing to give up your Thanksgiving Day?”  On that day, we will conduct a complete miracle service, followed by a sit-down dinner for a thousand people.

If you come to the Night of Miracles in Hanford, you will see the true fire and miracles of Jesus. If you come to six nights under the tent in Dinuba, you will see God rock an entire city. If you join the thousands at Chukchansi Stadium, you will feel the power of prayer like you have never felt it in your life.

Start by praying. Even if you are reading this from Wellington, New Zealand, the Gold Coast of Australia, or even Cape Town, South Africa, you can pray! Start now.

I promise you, a river of life will end up flowing out to you!

Breaking News about Reno

THE SECRET ABOUT RENO NEVADA IS OUT! Those who attended our World Convention with Perry Stone remember. They remember how an army no one really knew about formed with a deep  burning for revival, signs and wonders, and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.   We knew this army couldn’t stop or be contained in a convention. This had to continue.  So, on Sunday September 8th at 6 PM, at Faith Alive, it will continue!
In fact, I believe it will increase. I believe we will see an even deeper level of God’s Glory and power.
You can join me and on-fire believers from Reno, Sparks, and Carson City for a mighty night of miracles. That’s not all!  The worship team that led worship at the World Convention will be back with us for this night. This night might sound like a reunion of the convention, but it is actually a continuation!

This is the perfect setting to bring those who need Christ because there will be a direct word with confirming signs that will demonstrate the reality of Christ. It is also the right atmosphere for believers, pastors and leaders to be encouraged, strengthened, and receive greater power.
Bring those who need healing in their body. We know Jesus will be present through the power of the Holy Spirit to make you or someone you love completely whole!
I will be returning to Reno after an amazing tour of the East Coast that includes a guest appearance on It’s Supernatural with Sid Roth, and speaking at Lance Wallnau’s Extreme Dream Convention at the Trump Conference center in Washington D.C.  I know I will have exciting news for you!
But here’s the most urgent part of my message to you: Two things will decide the size of our impact: prayer and personally bringing people.
Christians have evangelized for thousands of years.  In that time, knowledge and technology has exploded.  Yet, these two forces remain omnipotent.

Mark 6: 55 says, “they ran through that whole surrounding region and began to carry about on beds those who were sick to wherever they heard He was.” That last phrase says it all!
On this night, here will be wonderful music, powerful messages and surprises.  But, the greatest reason to bring people is because we know Jesus will be there.
The moment you step inside Faith Alive, the music, the message, the presence of God will release your faith to receive something amazing. Come and bring someone you love.
Remember.  All seats are free.  We start at 6 PM on Sunday.  Let’s us pray for those you are bringing for healing or deliverance.  Call us at 775 238 3473
This all adds up to one inescapable conclusion: you don’t want to miss this night! Circle the date. Make your plans not only to come but to bring someone who needs a miracle. See you there!

P.S. I am also preaching at 10 AM at Faith Alive. I welcome you if this is your church home or if you are looking for a church home. Thank you for being faithful to your church. MM

COUNTERFEIT REQUIREMENTS

In this message I want to share with you the difference between true revival and the counterfeit that targets true revival. This counterfeit is a threat that reappears at the very moment of explosive breakthrough.

Again and again over the past centuries, revival has been delayed, distracted, and discouraged by teachings that add man-made conditions to revival that are not from God.

Trying to bring about revival by carnal means is as old as the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel, in First Kings. They called out from morning until noon, leaping about the altar, calling with a loud voice and cutting themselves as they “prophesied madly”—and yet there never was any “sound, or answer, and no one who paid any attention.” Elijah prayed, 37 “Hear me, O LORD, answer me, that this people may know that You O LORD are God, and have turned their hearts back to You.” 38 Then the fire of Jehovah fell…”

God’s conditions for revival have never changed, but human beings keep adding on carnal conditions.  Time and again, revival has appeared when the church has simply repented and surrendered.  The many false teaching we have amassed over the years have produced a list of false preconditions to revival that actually block revival.  Sadly, that list just keeps growing and growing.

Here are some of the counterfeit requirements for revival:

  • We must spiritually map our area—in order to gain revival, we need G.P.S. You cannot expect revival until the map is finished.  So-called ‘spiritual mapping’ replaces the Bible and the leading of the Holy Spirit as a guide for knowing what to do to reach a city.
  • We must identify the name of the ruling demon of our area. In Acts 8, Philip did not mention the name of a ‘boss devil’…he mentioned the Name of Jesus, the Name that makes devils flee…and they did!
  • Spirit travel. People leave their bodies to go and do advance work in different parts of the world for revival. Please don’t defend this by mentioning the story of Phillip in Acts 8—he never left his body.
  • The Fivefold Ministry must be set in place first. While the five office gifts do relate to building up the Body of Christ, they are never mentioned as a precondition of revival. Imagine how Satan laughs because you believe revival is impossible because only four out of the five gifts are in place.
  • Lay on the graves of past heroes. You are to seek out the gravesite of a famous ministry, lay on top of it, and absorb the anointing. No, I am not kidding! Here’s the thing…Jesus is the Anointed One, and any anointing you or I have comes from Him alone.   Knowing this saves us from having a grotesque experience in a graveyard…
  • Revival must come through the ‘gate keepers.’ Self-appointed leaders believe that revival will only come through them. They “protect” their city from revival.  They analyze and oppose outbreaks that do not earn their seal of approval. This is nothing more than a power grab. It is hilarious when ministers attack territorial spirits that bind a region not realizing they are that spirit.
  • Researching history to see who did what to whom. This includes studying Indian tribes, past wars and virtually any kind of injustice and grievance between people groups.   You must get representatives of the ancestors who were ‘done wrong,’ apologize, and get the descendants of the two sides reconciled.  In other words, we are never going to see revival because past injustice is a bottomless pit. Is cultural reconciliation a bad thing? No.  Is it a condition of revival?  Never. I am going to say more about this last one because I consider it the most distracting and damaging counterfeit.

In one large event, a golden opportunity degenerated into race baiting. A minister directed his message to the white people in the audience.  He said that while they did not participate in the injustices of the past—they are guilty by association because they are white.   He told them he believes that in order for this young audience (who had zero to do with slavery, lynching, Jim Crow laws, or any form of segregation) to see revival, they must sit there and endure the ensuing rant:  “I forgive you! I forgive you! I forgive you!”  He finished his outburst by shouting, “Black Lives Matter!” What was this?  Wasn’t this itself racial malice cloaked in sanctimonious hypocrisy—fleshly condemnation masquerading as a precondition of revival?  He thought his remarks honored Azusa Street but they were the opposite spirit of Azusa Street.

On February 22, 1906, William Seymour, a one-eyed man who was the son of a former slave, arrived in Los Angeles, California.  He had not yet spoken in tongues, but was determined to declare the truth of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.  He held a small gathering in the home of Richard and Ruth Asberry at 216 North Bonnie Brae Street in L.A.  On April 14, 1907 they moved the meetings to a small rented storefront at 312 Azusa Street in downtown Los Angeles.

What happened in that humble building exploded into a global force that remains the fastest growing arm of Christianity today, and is now nearly 600 million strong. But back in 1907, The Los Angeles Times newspaper rejected the revival because of what they considered an “inappropriate mixing of the races” and because women were in leadership.  But Seymour was following the direction of the Holy Spirit. He had not set out to fix institutional racism or sexism, and yet the true revival that ensued, broke down those barriers.

The revival was ‘politically incorrect’ in matters of race and gender, but totally correct biblically. How ironic that back when institutional racism did exist, Seymour did not even address it, yet today, when it is does not exist, the minister mentioned above, made it an artificial precondition for revival. For nearly two years, the church in America ignored Azusa Street, and was, instead, fixated on Evan Roberts and the revival in Wales.  In 1907, many prestigious pastors on the East Coast raised a fabulous sum of money to stage a national revival.  It was a spectacular failure.

I fear we are making the same hideous mistakes.  The conditions that bring revival have never changed.  All of the man-made counterfeit add-ons must go! Let’s not study prayer or honor prayer—let’s pray!   Let’s not reflect on the value of seeking revival—let’s seek it!  Let’s not dig up the past—let’s enter into the Glory!
