HOW A MIRACLE IN SAN FRANCISCO THREATENS TO TOUCH THE WHOLE NATION

Only 16 years old, he lived in a refrigerator box in a squalid part of the city.  His miracle is tied to our destiny.   To survive, he sold his body to older businessmen.  He slept by day and worked the nights.

HOW A MIRACLE IN SAN FRANCISCO THREATENS TO TOUCH THE WHOLE NATION

By Mario Murillo

His father was a drill instructor for the military.  They lived 100 miles from San Francisco. When the boy admitted he was gay, his father punched him in the face and threw him out.  His last words to his son were, “don’t ever come back here.”

The boy took a bus to San Francisco.  It was not the paradise he expected.  It was cold, cruel, and humiliating.  A large cardboard box became his home.  Then came a night of miracles.

After a long battle, we got a permit to put up a tent in the China Basin area of the city.  Night after night, lost souls, addicts, prostitutes and gang members streamed into that tent and found Jesus.

On this night, the Holy Spirit gave me a strange but clear command: “Turn up the volume!” I resisted because I did not want to offend the audience.   God won.

I turned it up loud enough to be heard 4 blocks away.  That’s how far away the boy slept in the box.  It woke him up!

The boy wandered into the tent and heard my message on the love of God.  The Holy Spirit came and overpowered him with love and conviction.   He felt hope for the first time in his life. He raised his arms to God and received all that Christ wanted to give him.  He became a new creation.

The next day he took a bus home to his abusive father.  His dad saw him, flew into a rage and beat him again. “I warned you never to come back here again!”  With that the dad slammed door.

The power of God kept the boy from leaving. He sat on the porch until the sun went down.  When the old man fell asleep in front of the television, the mother quickly went out to the porch and snuck her son into his old bedroom.

The next morning, the father got up and demanded his usual breakfast from his wife. Before he could lift a fork, something overwhelmed him.

He put all his food on a tray and headed to his son’s bedroom.  He propped up his son on pillows, brushed his hair back, kissed him on the forehead and gave him breakfast. Then he said to his boy, “Son, I do not know what has changed you, but it is changing this whole family.”

The next day, I got the strangest phone call ever. A gravelly voice was cussing me out.  “I do not know who the %#@!* you are.  Something changed my son, and I have got to have what he has.  So don’t give me any &%#@ Religion.  Just pray with me to have Jesus!”  I did.

This was the first miracle—a miracle that would mark our destiny.

Not a day passed where I didn’t dwell on the power of a tent to be at the right place at the right time.

This miracle marked me so deeply that one day our primary weapon would be a tent.  I knew that it would take another miracle to start our tent ministry. The challenge of a tent ministry is so great that it had to remain a secret passion for decades.

Then, this last April, I was a guest of Rick Wiles on the global news network TRUNEWS.   We had just finished a radio interview.  He looked at me and asked, “Is there anything your ministry needs?”

Before I could answer, he asked, “Can you use a tent?”  With that he donated a beautiful, brand new 8,000 square foot tent and chairs—not just any chairs—1,000 plush folding chairs from the sky boxes of an NFL stadium.

It took two 60 foot semi-trucks to transport the tent, tent poles, and chairs from Vero Beach, Florida to Reno, Nevada.  Now we were forced to start our tent ministry.

However, we needed another miracle—a really big one.  I knew what the Word of God meant where it says, “see if I will not pour out a blessing you will not have room to contain.”  Finding the storage was nearly impossible—figuring out how we would move the tent and chairs and then set it all up was, in fact impossible.  We had no way to use our gift.

Enter Frank Saldana and Inner-city Action.  Get this: God led Frank to begin training his crew about tents before we met.  This powerful ministry that feeds and clothes untold numbers of the poor and homeless began retooling itself for a tent ministry.

Soon they had semi-trucks, drivers, generators, lights, staging, and most all—experience getting permits and setting up tents.

While we would focus on crusading to win the lost and heal the sick, Inner-city Action would feed and clothe the poor.  It was a match made in heaven.

Today is the first day of our first crusade in our new tent.  At 5 PM, we open in Fink White Park ready to meet all human need by the power and love of Jesus Christ.  What a day this going to be.

What started with one boy’s miracle in San Francisco, has the potential to touch an entire nation.

THE LAZARUS GENERATION

God has called me to build an army out the forgotten souls in America’s inner cities.  Up from graves in America’s forgotten communities, they will rise to become Satan’s worst nightmare.  I can prove it!
Today’s victims will be tomorrow’s treasure.  The people no church wants will become the people every church wants.
Today they stick needles in their arms—tomorrow, they will be filled with the Holy Ghost, and the hand of God extended.  Today, they sell their bodies in grinding despair—tomorrow they will be shining temples of God.  Today, they scavenge dumpsters for food—tomorrow they will walk in dignity, boldness and prosperity.  Society’s rejects are about to become royalty.
They will turn the heart of many Americans back to God.  Their testimony will expose the lie of secular progressivism.  The leftist media will have no weapon against them.
The Lazarus Generation cannot be bought off, seduced away, or distracted from their appointed goal.
Yesterday, the powers of darkness panicked over news out of Reno Nevada.  A plan that was hidden in the heart of God—a powerful weapon that was forged before the foundation of the earth—came into existence.

Because of this, you will now see awe-inspiring soul winning events.  The poor are going to get food, shelter, clothing—and yes—jobs.  Gang members, addicts and the homeless will be drawn in record numbers to atmospheres of open heaven right where they live.
The first rumblings of this massive lightning storm, came in Modesto last week.  Star of David Ministries hosted Mario Murillo Ministries and Frank Saldana of Inner City Action to do a tent meeting in the hood.

Pastor Frank & Kim Saldana

Since 1996, Pastor Frank And Kim Saldana have served on a full-time basis. Having began their ministry work in Manteca, CA, the impact of their love for people has touched thousands over the past 20 years of service in the community.

Pastor Frank & Kim have been married over 20 years. They founded Inner City Action Inc to meet the needs of those that are often, ignored, neglected and forgotten. They are passionate about bringing awareness, education and change. They are dedicated to reaching and restoring our struggling communities.

We all had the strange and wonderful sense that this was a rehearsal for something gigantic.  The gifts of MMM and Inner City Action blended effortlessly.  The gaping holes in our outreach were filled dramatically by their expertise.  It was simply meant to be.

MMM received an amazing gift from Rick Wiles and TRUNEWS.  Rick donated a brand-new tent and 1,000 luxury folding chairs—he even paid for 2 semi-trucks to haul it from Vero Beach to Reno.

Here we sat with a huge gift we did not know how to use.  Frank and Inner-City Impact have a tent crew!  The chairs were stuffed into a storage area that wiped out our storage.  Frank has a 20,000-square foot warehouse!   You can see where this is all heading.
So, we met in Reno to formalize the obvious.  We needed to team up, combine forces and touch cities across America.  We will provide a Living Proof Crusade.  They will provide the mechanics of transporting the tent, set up and take down.   We will recruit and train soul winners to join us in each city.  They will bring trained workers to go door to door giving the poor food, and many other basic needs.
After we nailed down 8 Cities for the next 12 months, Frank and his crew loaded our new tent and chairs and took them to Stockton.
Never, and I mean never have I seen a vision whose inevitable outcome is revival—national revival.
Both ministries remain independent ministries with unique callings but for these tent invasions we will unite hearts, and pool our gifts, talents and resources to have an overwhelming impact on many cities.
I have no doubt that days of massive harvest, towering signs and wonders, and revival are just ahead.  Stay tuned we are about to announce Merced, and Fresno California!

STRIKING AT THE HEART OF EVIL AND DESPAIR

When Josh and I drove to the tent, we passed a junkyard.  We saw police with guns drawn.  We knew then we were in the right place—our place.  We are in Stockton, California—one of the nation’s hardest hit cities for violence, poverty and addiction.  We are partnering with Frank Saldana and Inner-City Action.

What God is doing in Stockton is awesome.  The crowds are seeing proof of the power of Jesus.  The miracles are compelling.  Many souls are saved and bodies healed.  However, this blog is about something  way beyond  Stockton.

The real message of this letter is epitomized by this phrase: Striking at the heart of evil and despair.  A great urgency grips me.  I believe our nation teeters on the edge.  Satan wants to blow out the flickering candle of the Gospel here at home.  The Body of Christ is almost totally unprepared for a coming storm because they are feeding on fluff.  The denial that most believers live in today is horrifying.

The signs and wonders revival with Inner-City Action continues until May 27.  Check out the poster for more information about guest speakers and details.

I thank God that this letter is going out to believers who do get it—who want to broom away religious cobwebs and obey God.  The American church needs a dynamic reeducation.

American Christianity needs electrode paddles to the chest.  But you cannot wait for that!  You, right where you are, need to become a weapon that strikes at the heart of evil.  To strike at the heart of evil and despair, do these things:

  1. Face reality! American Christians assume the problem will stay in the inner city. The fire that rages in our inner cities is not going to stay there. This fire is burning its way towards your house right now.  Unchecked, this fire will burn down the whole nation.

A straight-A high school student—with no ties to gangs or drugs—walks out of a convenience store into a hail of bullets.  When I found out about this senseless killing, I asked how it could happen.  The answer was, “He was at the wrong place at the wrong time.”

Then it hit me like a Mack truck:  Satan is turning entire cities into THE WRONG PLACE AT THE WRONG TIME.

  1. Wake up to the work: We are not doing a good work—we are doing the work. A well-meaning Christian said, “Mario, you are doing a good work.” I gently corrected him by showing him how other Christians misuse that phrase.

If someone says, “You are doing a good work,” it is often code for, “I am glad I don’t have to do what you are doing.”  The connotation is: this is a special work and not for everyone.  But it is for everyone.  Saving America is every believer’s business.  Getting filled with the Holy Ghost to serve is the mandate for every child of God.  We are not doing a good work—we are doing THE WORK.

Years of bad teaching coaxed the church away from the real work.  The self-entitlement gospel changed the focus to self-fulfillment instead of fulfilling the great commission.  That is one big reason we woke up to an America we can’t recognize.

What do we have to show for this compromise?  We gained a system that harmlessly herds thousands of Christians into impressive campuses but we lost an entire generation, our values and soon—without a miracle, our freedom.

Jesus said in John 9:4, “I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.”

  1. God is forging us—you and me—to be the people He has been looking for.

If Church history teaches us anything, it teaches us that God waits for someone to rise in the Name of Jesus and thrust a spear into the heart of evil.  God is always on the hunt for people who will heed His call to action:

Ezekiel 22:30 — So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.

Isaiah 63:5 — I looked, but there was no one to help, I was appalled that no one gave support; so my own arm achieved salvation for me, and my own wrath sustained me.

1 Samuel 14: 6 — Then Jonathan said to the young man who bore his armor, “Come, let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised; it may be that the Lord will work for us. For nothing restrains the Lord from saving by many or by few.”

Too many servants of God are powerless—sitting out this great battle—because they refuse to pay the price for a miracle-working anointing.  They circle around the problem but never strike it directly.  They have no heart for war.

  1. Paying the price means you don’t stop no matter what. Remember I told you we would target 10 cities? We targeted them alright, but we were shocked by the blow- back from the enemy.

In one city, we walked into a firestorm of divided churches, violent gangs, and massive apathy among the Christians.  The result was a disappointing event.

This setback hit me hard, but it points out a reality of spiritual warfare: perseverance.   Are we willing to learn from our errors, get back up and attack again with greater force than ever?  Are we ready to keep going no matter what?  The thought of backing off when a nation and lost souls hang in the balance is too terrible to consider.

Evangelists are supposed to give glowing reports filled with pictures that make donors feel their money is well invested.  Are you also willing to weep with us in our disappointments?  Will you stay with me if the vision takes a little longer than we first imagined?  Will you trust my honesty about our progress?

Are you willing to see how some important victories can’t be quantified in numbers and pictures?   After we work with a church, young pastors become permanent revivalists—our workshops jettison hundreds of Christians out of apathy and mediocrity—we mentor other outreach ministries to make them bolder and more effective.

I am not saying we won’t see massive outreaches…those are in the works.  What I am saying is that the battle is fierce—we must be fiercer than the battle.  I never told you this would be easy…but I know it will be glorious.

Now I want to offer one last question.  It is a question that means the world to me:

  1. Are we doing what we say we do? Every ministry should continually ask itself, “Are we doing what we say we do?” If I write you a letter, can I say without hesitation, we are doing what we say we do?

A ministry must always manage itself toward an outcome.  What is the outcome of our efforts?  Why are we doing this?  Do our actions take us to the goal God gave us?  Are we willing to cast everything aside—even good things—if it does not take us to our goal?

When it comes to conviction—when it comes to dedication and hard work—I will put my staff ahead of anyone.  Are we doing enough?  We are desperate to do much, much more. Are we as effective as we want to be?  Not nearly, but we will be.  The answer is summed up this way: We will strike at the heart of evil and despair.
