The next election

Once in a while someone will say something that is not just true…it is SO true.  That someone said, “if you think healthcare is expense now, just wait till it’s free.” I add, just wait until you see that bleeding the rich gets you nowhere. Just wait until you see how a Leftist dictatorship and not a pot of gold is at the end of the Socialist rainbow.

Just wait until you see how everything gets more expensive and scarce—especially freedom. Einstein said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.” If he is right, then wanting to try Socialism again is insanity—because it has never produced a different result.

Los Angeles is not even Socialist yet and they are already demonstrating Leftist insanity. They have 41,000 homeless Americans on their streets, but they have opened their border to the poor of other nations to come join the devastation. Not only that, they give more to the foreign poor than to their own poor.

Socialism is the comfort food of the exhausted and the frightened. Our youth are too tired to try. They are overwhelmed by the ethic that leads to success. In their stupor, it feels attractive to let someone else take care of you.

How can they believe something so implausible is plausible? We could blame the legalization of pot. But the attraction to Socialism is never noble. It is not the lofty and courageous aspiration of a pioneer, an inventor, or a warrior.

In their fatigue it is easy to give in to fantasies of soaking the rich to pay for college, a guaranteed stipend to live on. Esau was too drained and hungry to catch the trick Jacob was playing on him. One warm meal was all it took for him to give away his birthright.

We are in a war and it makes me cringe to think that a nation that survived a Civil War and two World Wars may die at the hands of ‘free stuff’. Yet, there is no doubt that there is a clear and present danger.

Our universities and colleges are incubators of lunacy where Socialism can seem promising.  It is on campus that you find those who are so frightened and feel so victimized that an opposing view is the same as violence.

Consider this example from David Limbaugh:

“If you think the Left hasn’t taken over university life in America, you are probably not paying close enough attention or in denial. I’m not just talking about the liberalism of the professors and the core curriculum, but about all of college life. There are glaring examples of Leftist extremism everywhere you turn, and they’re so loony that even sane liberal parents should be concerned.

In September, a Michigan State University student awoke from his nap to an apparently  unbearable sight, according to The College Fix. His roommate was watching a video of  conservative commentator Ben Shapiro. I can guess what some of you must be thinking as you read this: “I sure am glad my kids were never exposed to such provocations, such obnoxious, inconsiderate and uncaring roommates.”

You are probably also thinking, “But if my kid had been the subject of such a triggering event, I hope he would have had the presence of mind to exercise self-help and extricate himself from the hostile environment.”

In this instance, the innocent victim didn’t react violently. He calmly booted up his own computer and filed a complaint against his roommate with the administration’s bias reporting  system. Kind of makes you well up with vicarious pride, no?  As a parent you will also be gratified to learn that the university dutifully dispatched an investigator to dig into this urgent  matter and to work for a “room change if the claimant would like one.””

A generation who are afraid of their own shadow will welcome Socialism. They will sign over their rights. They will accept a dictatorship.

If ever you prayed for America you need to pray this way: God, break the spell of demons over the minds of Americans who would so easily give away their rights in exchange for a false cure.  God help us to remember that a paycheck is freedom and government handouts are a lethal narcotic. Open hearts to see how this scourge destroys dignity, incentive, and sanity.

Every voter will have to choose between freedom or free stuff. You can’t have both. We had better wake to the reality that we will not die at the hands of North Korea, Russia, or even China, but at the hands of our own children. We will not die from bombs but a national debt that will swallow us whole.

Finally, God hates Socialism for the one thing that it does: It takes charity and love and throws it out in favor of a cold government agency. It takes away the joy of giving and replaces it with obligations and a secret resentment for the poor who gets the money – that has been taken from the rich by force.

Dorothy L. Sayers was an Anglican Theologian and a close friend of C.S. Lewis, said this, “The difference is, with the true church, support (for the poor) is a Gospel concern, with gifts of compassion and care; with government, it is a legal issue, and the money is exacted from the rich in taxes. The sad consequence is that love is thereby eliminated, and replaced by law and civic duty.” Socialism indeed kills love.

What the church should be doing, caring for the poor out of love, is instead now cold and institutional.  What Christianity does is give freely and infuses the poor with the gifts that lift them from poverty: dignity and the miracle of a changed heart.

A Leftist pointed to a man in poverty and remarked to Billy Graham, “Communism will put a new suit on that man.” Billy replied, “But Christ will put a new man in that suit.”

PETER THE DAY AFTER

Peter failed in spectacular fashion.  He bragged he would stand with Jesus even if everyone else fled.  He fell asleep in the Garden.  He assaulted the servant of the High Priest.  Though he was warned about it in advance, he went ahead and denied Christ three times.
Here’s a question to everyone who has ever failed: Why did Jesus put the man’s severed ear back on?  (Luke 22:51). We know Peter had taken a sword and had cut it off.  We know why.  We can also guess that Jesus healed Malchus’ ear out of compassion.  But there is something way deeper going on here. What does that have to do with anyone who ever failed?  Everything.
The day after Jesus died wouldn’t have hurt Peter so much if Peter didn’t love Jesus so much.  That he had abandoned Christ began to torment him.  It could have devastated him for the rest of his life.   But right at this point, he doesn’t believe there is a rest of his life.
The day after Jesus died is Peter’s day to hide like a hunted animal.  A day to let it sink in that there is nothing left to live for.  He was a hair’s breadth away from the fate of Judas Iscariot.  Worst of all, he lost his destiny.
Destiny is a mysterious thing.  The same force that can inspire a man to greatness can—in his failure—torture him.  The pain level depends on the size of the destiny.  In the case of Peter, it was massive.
Peter was minding his own business when Jesus interrupted his whole life.  Fishing all night, Peter had caught nothing.   His hands are red and sore from handling the heavy nets.  Every muscle aches. He has nothing to show for a brutal night at sea.
The strange Teacher says, “Let your nets down again for a catch.”  Peter halfheartedly does as he is asked.  The enormous catch terrifies him.  He begs Jesus to keep his distance, “I am a sinful man.”

That’s when he heard the words about his destiny.  “Follow Me and I will make you a fisher of men.”  Then, once more, the day after Jesus has died, Peter is just a fisherman again.  It sticks in his throat to say it.
They say that regret is the cancer of life—if so, on this terrible day, Peter is terminal.  He could have prayed Psalm 69: 1 “Save me, O God! For the waters have come up to my neck. 2 I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing; I have come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. 3 I am weary with my crying; my throat is dry; my eyes fail while I wait for my God. Those who hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head; they are mighty who would destroy me…”
“I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing” simply means that in the quicksand of despair, nothing that used to help you snap out of it works now.  All of your comfort is gone. There is nothing to grab to save you. You will sink until you vanish.
Now it’s dawn on Sunday.  Peter can’t know that at that moment, an angel is talking about him.  Mark 16:  7 “But go, tell His disciples—and Peter—that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.”  The angel added the words “and Peter.”  Why?  Because God knew Peter would have disqualified himself if the invitation was “for disciples only.” Wouldn’t you love to have seen Peter’s face when they told him the angel’s message?
So why did Jesus put the ear back on?  He knew Peter’s destiny, and Peter couldn’t be in prison on the day of Pentecost.  Jesus knew his destiny. He knows yours.

WHY I WRITE THESE BLOGS

Day after day, I have written the burden the Lord has placed upon me.  These blogs are designed to rebuke the unrighteous religious leader, but also bring fervent encouragement to the righteous core.

Want to know the other big reason I write day after day?  It’s because—despite all the darkness, perversion, division and violence—regardless of how low society has fallen—I believe—with atom of my being—an amazing act of God is on the horizon.

We are not just going to see a great falling away…but a great harvest.  A harvest beyond anything we can imagine.  It will begin in shocking locations in shocking ways.  It will baffle believers as much as it does sinners.

Therefore I have been forced to write messages that target shallowness, compromise, hypocrisy, and gross negligence.  Gross negligence—because it wasn’t just what they did—it was when they did it.  As Satan unleashed his most destructive assault on the church, and the nation, they puddled around in false success leaving their post unguarded.  I know that’s a serious accusation…but I stand by it.

Driven by lust for growth, they wantonly closed their ears to the political disaster that dismantled faith and morality in America.  They should have been putting the Word of God in people.  They don’t awaken a hunger for revival.  They create evil appetites.  They weaken and distract the church from true revival.  They should hang their heads in shame for speeding up our demise.

To me, they are as guilty as those who voted to destroy marriage—they are as guilty as those who voted to force our taxes to fund abortions—they are as guilty as the architects of the God-hating mobs that roam our streets, teach in our universities, and people our institutions.

If they asked me how I could accuse them of such horrible crimes, I would simply ask them how could you waste critical time building a man-made entertainment center when you could have contended for a moral awakening?

Am I harsh?  Perhaps, but I am not alone.  Charles Finney said, “If Satan rules in our halls of legislation, the pulpit is responsible for it.  If our politics become so corrupt that the very foundations are ready to fall away, the pulpit is responsible for it.”

On the other hand, this blog calls out a special remnant who are restless.  They don’t fit anywhere.   They don’t even understand why they have held to their integrity.

What is coming soon will be simultaneously glorious and humiliating.  Glorious to a company of people who, at this moment, labor in obscurity.  Suddenly they will be raised up.  At the same time many who are celebrity preachers who will suffer a great demotion.

The greatest harvest in the history of Christianity will be placed in the hands of special ones—faithful ones.   Already they are being chosen.  Already they have an appointment with destiny that will bring them into an unimaginable nearness to Jesus.

Those who are called to this will ask and receive things that prior generations could not imagine.  We are talking about awesome things!

They may not know who they are.  They don’t have an inkling of what is about to overtake them.

The Lord is testing them in obscurity.  It’s the only way that yields a vessel who can be trusted with great power.  They have been rejected for refusing to conform to the counterfeits.  God made them misfits.  Because He knew what was coming.

God not only knew the insanity of today was coming—He took steps to prepare a special relationship, that would produce special powers for His Children.

Jesus saw the future and uttered an explosive prayer: PRAY THE LORD OF THE HARVEST TO SEND WORKERS INTO THE HARVEST.  Notice He did not say ministers, or celebrities.  He said workers.  Many want the titles, attention, and rewards…but they don’t want to do the work.  A special core burns white hot with passion win lost souls and heal the sick.  They are hidden now but soon they will shine like the sun.

But there is another miracle awaiting this unique breed.  They will be allowed to see the world around them from the vantage point of the throne of God.  Ephesians 2: 6 says “and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus…”

What do you see from this vantage point?  You see that all the vile railings of our culture are not—in any way—a threat to the purposes of the almighty.  He knows the hollow arguments of the haters.  He is not moved by the mental monopoly of fake news and leftist social media.  He saw it all coming and prepared the response.

And that response has already begun in our crusades.  Altar calls that render the audience helpless before the power of God.  I have not seen this since the Jesus Movement!

The Lord of the universe is not poor.  He has pooled untold wealth to transfer it into the hands of trusted, proven, purified vessels whose only passion is to obey.

Finally, learn the truth of the slingshot. It may explain everything you are going through right now.

They are being hurt, wounded and brought to the brink of despair before their breakthrough.  In their pain and agony, they will cry out why—why am I being pulled away from my promise?  Why does each day take me further and further away from what You promised me?

Like a slingshot, God is deliberately building up the tension—the frustration—the fire to act…and at just the right moment, He will release you.   There is a great falling away coming and it will result in new voices and new anointing leading to the greatest harvest of souls in history.

Stop calling holiness a religious spirit

Let’s be honest.   The modern church is not exhausting itself on devotion and sacrifice.  But you’d sure think so by the way some ministers keep telling them to relax, and quit trying so hard, because Daddy is so pleased with them.
Even when a congregation is a listless, flabby, biblically illiterate, club of moody consumers—preachers will heap on them yet one more message of pampered entitlement.  Kind of like handing a diabetic a case of Snickers bars.
It has gotten so bad that Sundays are a celebration of how much God lets you get away with.
They seem so easy going.  And why wouldn’t they be, after all the soothing guarantees of God’s unconditional approval. But don’t be fooled.  All that veneer of serenity explodes when they come into contact with holiness.  They must attack it on sight.
Gently suggest the church could go deeper—call for more prayer meetings—voice concern about inappropriately dressed women—tell them you don’t want to party with them, and they will scream, “YOU HAVE A RELIGIOUS SPIRIT!”
What was once normal discipleship, is now legalistic.  Anything that dampens their festivities is judgmental.
What have we done?  We have unleashed a counterfeit liberty.  These are not the features of a Spirit-led people.  These are the clear symptoms of people with sick souls deceived, and careening toward disaster.
Here is a chilling scripture that speaks to the evil that is twisting the church.  Isaiah 59:15 says, “So truth fails, And he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. Then the Lord saw it, and it displeased Him That there was no justice.”
How can it be that vessels chosen to uplift the righteous and equip the saints instead conspired to create a system that rewards carnality and shames holiness. How dare you punish a heart for wanting purity?
The greatest gift God can send a church is a holy child of God.  Their heart is revival.  They want the fire, glory and power of God to electrify the church.  Make them your enemy and you have also made an enemy out of God.
Woe is you if you have ever called holiness a religious spirit.   God bless you if you love holiness and understand what a treasure it is.  “1 Timothy 6: 6 Now godliness with contentment is great gain.”

I have an amazing story to tell you right now

Should a preacher be an outspoken critic of government and politicians?  Should soul winners take sides the political arena?  When I first began doing it, the unanimous verdict was no.  Now let me tell you an amazing story…

In 2011, I knew the greatest threat to America and the Gospel was going to come from Washington D.C. and Sacramento CA.  The Holy Spirit led me to begin a blog and arm people with truth and Scriptural knowledge to combat the iron curtain that I saw coming down on our nation.

You would not believe the threats I got.  Not just from left wing wackos, but from Christians.  Church folk thought I was violating my calling and the left wingers said they were going to sick the IRS on me.  Some leaders I really trusted blasted me for even thinking of doing this.

Seeking God about doing this blog, put me through unimaginable torment.  I had to be sure I was right.  My heroes, Billy Graham, Oral Roberts, Kathyrn Kuhlman, and David Wilkerson would have struggled with my decision.  Then something really important dawned on me: Preachers must discern the times they live in.

Everyone one of my heroes did just that.  They did things that had never been done before and they were brutally criticized for it. David Wilkerson for being photographed at a criminal trial for delinquents, Oral for going on television, Kathyrn for being a woman preacher…all of them broke new ground.

Then God gave me understanding of the time I lived in, and the ground I had to break.  Let me explain it this way:  say you are barbecuing in your back yard.  There’s a fence between you and your neighbor.  One day, after years of peaceful coexistence, your neighbor jumps the fence, and with a crazed look, charges your wife.  He means harm.  What do you do? Tell yourself it is unloving to attack the crazed neighbor?

Obama jumped the fence and went after the church.   Now, the left never stays in their own yard.  They continually attack our freedom of religion, and speech.  Then I heard a life-changing phrase in my spirit: Christianity will survive without America, but America will never survive without Christianity.  Now I knew my mission was to help spare America from disaster.

I also concluded that my spiritual heroes lived in an era when the church was respected, and there was civil discourse between political parties.  I needed models of preachers who preached at the dawn of tyranny in their nation.   I needed Dietrich Bonhoeffer from Hitler’s Germany and Watchman Nee in Mao’s china.  It became undeniable what I had to do.  I had total peace and confidence and began writing.  However, my anxiety was only beginning.

In the first month, May 2011, only 58 people read it, by the end of the year only 2,200 people had read it.  The enemy laughed at me, and told me it was a miserable failure, and the only thing I had done was to close the doors of churches.  Somehow I kept trying.

The blog didn’t just face rejection from the church, it was going against the headwinds of technology.  America’s attention span was shrinking fast.  Experts told me I had no hope of success because no one reads long articles.  If I wanted to be heard, I had to do short snappy videos.  The Holy Spirit said no.  I had to write the blog.  Often, they’d be over a thousand words. Somehow, against all odds, I held on.

Now it was 2012 and something amazing started.  By December, 300,000 people read the blog.  Not only that, preachers took heart from my posts and began to boldly proclaim truth and speak out.  Some of my harshest critics admitted they attacked me out of their own fear to speak out.  The foundation of a new understanding, began to emerge.  It turned into a groundswell.

Everywhere I traveled, people would come up to me, and tell me how much the blog meant to them.  Copies appeared in the most surprising places.  The heads of a large denomination gave it to their executives.  It was quoted on television, radio, referred to in books, read from pulpits and even mentioned in Washington.  Since then, it has been viewed in 224 nations and territories.   Then at midnight last night it happened…

The blog reached 3 million views.  Think of that!  3 million people have read it!   This little blog, which had no chance of surviving is now the mouse that roared.  Thank you to all my regular readers—some who have stood with me since the beginning—for doing something historic!  And, the best is yet to come.
The only way it succeeded was because God was in it.  He is the only reason it broke through all the barriers.  All the glory goes to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ
