IT ISN’T STOPPING OUR NATIONAL DISASTER

Why does the American Church think she is successful?  Her outward success hasn’t even tapped the brakes of our impending national disaster.  I wish I could say we had stopped the flood of filth and addiction.  I’d even be happy if I could say we had slowed the flood.  But no, as the flood rises, we take pride in how well we can keep people safe and dry in artificial arks of glass and stainless steel.  We celebrate things that are utterly irrelevant in the disaster that is even now at the door.

Across America, countless gleaming Christian campuses churn out activity at a dizzying pace.  Millions of dollars change hands to fuel methods that have zero impact on the enemy. The machine is manmade and utterly useless before the demonic principalities that are tearing our nation apart, limb from limb.

What right does this multi-faceted machine have to say it is effective?  What result can it point to as an example of victory over evil?

The ‘outward-success-machine’ that men have built is not of the Holy Spirit.  It runs on toxic fuel.  Every day we witness the toxicity evidenced in the tragedies of celebrity leaders who are crashing and burning. Why, you ask?  Because this fuel can neither feed the soul of a preacher, nor can it replenish their spirit.

Too many ministers are conditioned to drawing life and self-worth from the adulation of the crowd, instead of receiving fulfillment, power and peace from a life of prayer.  As a result, instead of living in the presence of Jesus and beholding His face, they have grown an unnatural heart that is capable of celebrating hollow successes that they should be ashamed of.

They are thrilled when thousands come to hear them, when they should be crying out in agony.  It is a destructive talent indeed to be able to gather thousands and leave them untouched by conviction.  Few, if any, ever repent under the influence of their ‘seeker friendly’ sermons—a repentance that could have been the budding of the first leaf toward a national awakening.

The devil doesn’t respect personality, human initiative, or feel-good sermons. He only respects the anointing.  He does not stop advancing in the face of concocted-Christianity.  But Satan is absolutely paralyzed before a word that issues forth in power and anointing directly from Jesus, Who is the Head of the Church—the devil only flees before a rhema word that is launched by a pure and anointed member of Jesus’ body on Earth, the Church.

Nothing fits our current condition better than the picture I am about to portray:

Jesus is seated on a donkey, the traditional manner in which the kings of Israel announced their reign.  He is on His way from the Mount of Olives toward Jerusalem.  A roar of adulation not heard since King David returned from a victorious battle shakes the great city. The masses are saying all the right things, “Hosanna! Save us now!  Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord!”  The roar is so great that the Jewish religious leaders implore Jesus to tone down the masses.  He tells them that if He did, the very rocks would cry out.

All of His disciples and core believers must have thought, “This is it.” They have been secretly hoping that Jesus is about to set up an earthly throne, conquer the Romans, and return Israel to its former glory. But strangely, even as the joy of the crowd is overwhelming, Jesus begins to weep.  He knows this is too little, too late.

Luke 19:41, “Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it, 42 saying, “If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. 43 For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side, 44 and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation.”

The roar of our concerts; the glitz of our technology; the grandeur of our meeting places, our modernization of prayer, and even our New Age-like fascination with the gifts of the Holy Spirit is all a shallow grave.  It has the trappings of being of God, without the engine of God driving it.

By what authority do we claim that ‘church-incorporated’ has the power to save America?  Please enlighten me.  I am all ears.  Moreover, if my words offend you, but they don’t even move you to check your heart, doesn’t that alone bespeak our tragedy?

America will not be saved by shallow thrill seekers. Satan laughs at the antics that distract us in this hour as we stagger toward disaster. But is it also too little too late for us?

But wait…what is that I hear?  I hear a rumble—so faint at first.  YES!  It is the sound of a mighty God Who will not share HIS GLORY WITH ANY MAN!  He would save America His way!  He is at this moment rolling up His sleeves to intervene, and in a most embarrassing way—a way that will bring people we don’t like, who are doing things we didn’t expect, in the places we had written off…

I am addressing those who are, or who desire to be, honest vessels of God: Take heart, you who have been forgotten—you who have been run over by the tractors of Church-incorporated.  Our heavenly Father has not forgotten you, far from it!  He is right now preparing to grant power, fire and miracles! Hallelujah!

Mario has a new book! Listen to what Pastor John Kilpatrick, who led the Pensacola Revival, said about Mario’s  book:
“As I read the manuscript for Mario Murillo’s new book, Vessels of Fire and Glory, I said to myself, “Finally!” Mario has measured the church and the nation in this season and did not hold anything back. His honesty is like the sun rising inside a dark cave. This release is a paradox—it is sobering and refreshing; it is symptoms and the cure. I believe this revivalist has penned a treatise that should be in the hands of all who lead the work of God.”
Mario’s new book will awaken you to your assignment in God’s work to save America. It’s $15 each or $12 for ten or more. Get a signed copy plus free shipping by clicking here.  https://mariomurillo.org/product/vessels-of-fire-glory/

GOOD NEWS

There is good news that I have been hesitant to bring you because it seemed too good to be true. I wanted to be sure that it was not just a temporary phase. It is time for me to tell you my own wonderful discovery. But first I want to address something on a much wider scale than my own personal experience.

Is the American church going the way of the hula hoop and the lava lamp? Is it just a matter of time until our faith dies out in America? Leftists love to say this, but it turns out it is a total lie.

Glenn T. Stanton wrote in an article entitled New Harvard Research Says U.S. Christianity Is Not Shrinking, But Growing Stronger:

“New research published late last year by scholars at Harvard University and Indiana University Bloomington is just the latest to reveal the myth. This research questioned the “secularization thesis,” which holds that the United States is following most advanced industrial nations in the death of their once vibrant faith culture. Churches becoming mere landmarks, dance halls, boutique hotels, museums, and all that.

“Not only did their examination find no support for this secularization in terms of actual practice and belief, the researchers proclaim that religion continues to enjoy “persistent and exceptional intensity” in America. These researchers hold our nation “remains an exceptional outlier and potential counter example to the secularization thesis.””

It seemed too good to be true, but then I started getting the calls—calls from leaders who openly opposed the positions I have been declaring in these blogs. They were offended by my insistence on letting the Holy Spirit move.

They began to tell me how they are seeking God and repenting. They began to tell me how they changed their sermons. What is really stunning is that the power of God is flowing in their services, and the crowds which were there for entertainment are now clamoring for more Bible. Prayer meetings are starting to outdraw church socials.

Where we feel it the most is in our tent crusades. Churches who were in deep division are now joining together. They are dropping their differences in order to win the lost.

I can only report to you what is happening in my corner of the world. I was afraid this was just a passing fancy, but it appears that this change is truly taking hold!

You, our faithful readers, have a real hand in this miracle. I freely admit that I have been stern, but apparently what I have been writing is taking hold in the hearts of leaders. The good news is that hearts are turning back toward God, and it appears to be expanding.

If you think that means I will let up in my intensity in speaking the Word of the Lord—think again. We still have widespread corruption, error, and counterfeits at work in the church.  Let us at least rejoice that leaders are beginning to listen to prophets, teachers, and in some cases, even to me.  All glory to God!

OUR TENT CRUSADE IN PARADISE BEGINS THURSDAY. COME IF YOU CAN. PLEASE PRAY.

When Abraham Lincoln Told America to Pray and Repent

“Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us!  It behooves us then, to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.”

By the President of the United States of America.

A Proclamation.

Whereas, the Senate of the United States, devoutly recognizing the Supreme Authority and just Government of Almighty God, in all the affairs of men and of nations, has, by a resolution, requested the President to designate and set apart a day for National prayer and humiliation.

And whereas it is the duty of nations as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions, in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord.

And, insomuch as we know that, by His divine law, nations like individuals are subjected to punishments and chastisements in this world, may we not justly fear that the awful calamity of civil war, which now desolates the land, may be but a punishment, inflicted upon us, for our presumptuous sins, to the needful end of our national reformation as a whole People? We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven. We have been preserved, these many years, in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth and power, as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us; and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us!

It’s a testament to how far we have fallen.  Lincoln’s letter would be deemed a hate crime today.  His wise plea would be met with rage and howling disdain.  Every talk show host would eviscerate it.  Hollywood would have more anger over this letter than they do over Harvey Weinstein.  Professors would call it a tool for the white man to keep people of color on the plantation.

Psychiatrists, citing the 25th Amendment, would scream for the mentally unfit Lincoln to be removed from office.  He would be accused of being a climate change denier for omitting references to the environment.  He would be slurred as Islamophobic for praying to the Christian God.  In short, this document would be banned today.

Even in the face of unequaled natural disasters, violence, division and danger, the elite of our nation not only refuse to pray, they ridicule those who wish to repent.  This is how far from sanity we have drifted.  May God have mercy on our wicked minds.

-Mario Murillo

It behooves us then, to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.

Now, therefore, in compliance with the request, and fully concurring in the views of the Senate, I do, by this my proclamation, designate and set apart Thursday, the 30th. day of April, 1863, as a day of national humiliation, fasting and prayer. And I do hereby request all the People to abstain, on that day, from their ordinary secular pursuits, and to unite, at their several places of public worship and their respective homes, in keeping the day holy to the Lord, and devoted to the humble discharge of the religious duties proper to that solemn occasion.

All this being done, in sincerity and truth, let us then rest humbly in the hope authorized by the Divine teachings, that the united cry of the Nation will be heard on high, and answered with blessings, no less than the pardon of our national sins, and the restoration of our now divided and suffering Country, to its former happy condition of unity and peace.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the United States to be affixed.

Done at the City of Washington, this thirtieth day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three, and of the Independence of the United States the eighty seventh.

By the President: Abraham Lincoln
William H. Seward, Secretary of State.

Playing the Grace Card

I want to present to you today a wonderful ans simple explanation by Bob Yandian about Grace and Christians confessing their sins by Bob Yandian. – Mario

DO CHRISTIANS HAVE TO CONFESS THEIR SINS?

By Bob Yandian

Pastor-Bob-Yandian

Let’s Make The Complicated Simple

Let’s make confession of sins for the Christian as easy as possible to understand.  It is being taught today as unnecessary for the believer and even worse, that it only applies to sinners.  It has become an open door for sin and only the truth of God’s word will reveal truth.  Confession of sins for the believer was never given as a license to sin against God, but to serve Him.  Christian growth is impossible without a way to rid ourselves of the sins we knowing or unknowingly commit.  Something designed by God’s grace for our freedom has turned from simple to complicated and from clear to ambiguous. Lately, much confusion has arisen over this part of God’s plan for our daily life.

What If There Is Only One Verse

It has been said that 1 John 1:9 is the only verse in the New Testament that tells Christians they have to confess their sins. It isn’t (see Acts 19:18), but let’s assume for a moment this is true.  It is asked, how do you build a doctrine on one verse?  Well, there is only one scripture telling us that as sinners we need to believe with our heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord (Romans 10:9,10). Yet, we all agree this is true.  All other verses tell us to believe on the Lord Jesus for salvation.  In other words, all the other verses tell us what to do, believe, but not how to do it.  Romans 10:9,10 tells us how to believe to receive salvation.

What Does Confess Mean?

The word used most often for confession of sins is repent. Although in the Old and New Testament, it is often used for unbelievers, most of the time (over 80%) it is used for believers. The verses in the New Testament, telling Christians to repent, tells us what to do, but not how to do it.  1 John 1:9 tells Christians how to repent. We are to confess our sins. The Greek word for confess, is homologeo, homo meaning same, and logeo meaning to speak or say. It is a compound word, meaning to say the same thing. It would be better translated, not as confess, but as admit or acknowledge.  Nowhere in scripture are believers told to list or name their sins. This is a distortion of the meaning of homologeo.

As a pastor I saw many Christians come for counseling who had sinned. They finally were ready to admit it.  At first they tried to cover their sins, then blamed others, surrounding their original sin with more sins. Carnality always breeds more carnality.  By the time they came to see me, much time had passed and they could not remember, much less name, all the sins they had added to the first. Was God holding them accountable to name each one?  No.  David’s sin did not begin with Bathsheba, but with staying home when he should have gone with his troops to battle (2 Samuel 11:1,2). He got off his bed after sleeping all day, went to the balcony, saw a woman bathing, lusted after her, brought her into his bedroom, had sex with her and got her pregnant. He then brought her husband home trying to get him drunk so he would go to bed with her. But as a faithful soldier he would not go home to her but stayed with the few guards at the gate.  David still tried to cover his sins and had Uriah, her husband, murdered.  Nine months later, an illegitimate child was born to them both.

After a year of sin, lies and denial, David was confronted by Nathan the prophet. God knew David had sinned, Jesus knew, the Holy Spirit knew as did the prophet.  The only one who had to “say the same thing”, was David.  He did not list his sins or name each one. He said, “I have sinned against the Lord”.  He admitted it or acknowledged his sins.  Nathan immediately said, “your sins are forgiven” (2 Samuel 12:13). A year’s worth of sins were cleansed in one moment. That is grace. When the prodigal came home, he did not tell his father how much money he had gone through, how many prostitutes he slept with or how many times he got drunk and the names of all the bars.  He simply said, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight” (Luke 15:21). He admitted or acknowledged his sin, was restored to fellowship with his father and had his privileges restored.

GRACE

What About Unknown Sins?

When we acknowledge what we know, that we have sinned against God, He is also faithful and just to forgive us for all we do not know, those sins surrounding the first.  He cleanses us from allunrighteousness as a display of His great mercy. He who covers his sins will not prosper.  But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy (Proverbs 28:13).

Spirit And Soul

Finally, which part of our being are we responsible for to keep clean?  It is not our spirit.  That was cleansed when we were born again and will not need to be made clean again.  The blood of Jesus washed our spirits and will never need to wash it again.  As Christians, we do not and cannot sin in our spirits (1 John 3:9). We sin in our souls, in thoughts which lead to words and actions.  It takes the blood of Jesus to cleanse us in our souls as much as it did to cleanse our spirits at the new birth.  Like Jesus told the disciples when He washed their feet, “He who is bathed (new birth) needs only to wash his feet (confession of sins), but is completely clean”. Bathing takes place one time. Foot washing may need to take place many times. Water is needed for both as is Jesus’ blood for the Christian life. Salvation is for heaven and our relationship with God. Confession of sins is for time, fellowship with God and daily victory over Satan.

Enjoy The Grace Of God

Don’t throw out the baby with the bathwater today.  Grace is a wonderful doctrine and I truly believe it is the message of the hour being emphasized by God.  Excesses do not negate a truth.  The sinful excesses of many evangelists did not negate the healing movement. The excesses of shepherding did not negate the truth of the Charismatic Movement. The excesses of prosperity today do not negate the truth of the message of faith.  Like these other movements, the truth of grace will find it’s point of balance.  Let’s enjoy the grace of God together.

Yours in Jesus Christ,

Bob Yandian

Unimaginable horror comes to stay in America. What is the answer.

massacre copy

Unimaginable horror comes to stay in America.  What is the answer?

At least 26 people are dead, including 20 children, after a gunman opened fire at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown Friday morning.

Today we are grieving for the dead and the living.  Unimaginable horror paid a visit to Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.  Worst nightmare does not begin to cover the feeling that horrified children and parents felt today.

Law enforcement sources told FoxNews.com the shooter was Adam Lanza. His brother, Ryan Lanza, 24, who was widely and erroneously reported to be the suspect, was questioned in Hoboken, N.J., but authorities said he was not involved.  An FBI source tells Fox News that Ryan Lanza and the father, Peter Lanza, have both been cleared and are no longer being questioned.

Have you noticed what 2012 was like?  It was a year of violence. Following are some of the worst such incidents in the United States in 2012:

April 2 – A gunman kills seven people and wounds three in a shooting rampage at a Christian college in Oakland.

July 20 – A masked gunman kills 12 people and wounds 58 when he opens fire on moviegoers at a showing of the Batman film “The Dark Knight Rises” in Aurora, a suburb of Denver, Colorado.

August 5 – A gunman kills six people during Sunday services at a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, before he is shot dead by a police officer.

August 24 – Two people are killed and eight wounded in a shooting outside the landmark Empire State Building in New York City at the height of the tourist season.

September 27 – A disgruntled former employee kills five people and takes his own life in a shooting rampage at a Minneapolis sign company from which he had been fired.

October 21 – Three people are killed in a Milwaukee area spa including the estranged wife of the suspected gunman, who then killed himself.

December 11- A gunman wearing camouflage and a white plastic mask opened fire in a shopping mall near Portland, Ore., killing two, and wounding one other before killing himself, police said.

December 14 – A shooter opens fire at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, killing at least 26 people, including 20 children.

Will we look squarely into the face of evil and ask the hard questions?  Sadly, I do not see how.   We will not ask why are these irresistible urges to kill operating in our young men.   We are scared to know why they couldn’t ward off the need to massacre.

The president ordered the flags to be lowered to half-mast.  This is fitting for a nation that will apply half cures.   Already you hear the cry for more gun control.  Never mind the fact that the list of shootings you see above happened in areas with the strictest gun laws in America.

There are no words of comfort for these parents in Newton Connecticut because their pain is unimaginable.  Grief counselors have no words. Only those who feel no pain will say banal things like “weren’t the President’s words beautiful.”  Or, “wasn’t that a wonderful tribute on CNN.”

Today is a day to be grief-stricken but we cannot find it, we can only muster mild sadness.  Today is a day when we should feel rage but all we feel is bewilderment.

The president ordered the flags to be lowered to half-mast.  This is fitting for a nation that will apply half cures.   Already you hear the cry for more gun control.  Never mind the fact that the list of shootings you see above happened in areas with the strictest gun laws in America.   No, we will round up the usual suspects and let the real culprit go free.

Politicians, as Rahm Emanuel once said, should not waste a good crisis.  They do not care about how it sounds or who it hurts.  They will use this to reinforce their bankrupt cures.

Unimaginable horror has come to stay in America.  Will it cause at least the Churches of Connecticut drop all agendas and overflow their sanctuaries and cry out to God for mercy and intervention tonight?  I fear not.  Is it possible that even in circumstances this dire that political correctness and our new found nation atheism will dissuade us from revival repentance and prayer?

When a nation discards God like an old garment, natural decency vanishes.   You have just witnessed 12 months of unspeakable crimes.  Prior generations of Americans faced with a year this evil and bloody would and have turned to God for a miracle.  Today we will merely turn the channel and compare analysis.

Where and when can expect any hope for our nation?  Are you brave enough to hear an answer to that question?   When pastors and God’s people no longer care what society thinks of them and they cast themselves wholeheartedly on God…the unimaginable horror will be overtaken by the unstoppable revival.
