I TOLD YOU THIS WAS COMING

Two days ago, I said this… “I believe we’ll see it this week.  I am warning you it’s about to spike, and the mindless ferocity of it will surprise you.”  Well, here it is: persecution and mindless ferocity.

In a progressive meltdown, Comedian Jim Carrey called President Donald Trump a cancer. The he said that Republicans are rapists. Then he ended by blasting Christians. He said, “the Christian right has never been about morality, it’s been about holding on to power and using morality to do so.”

Are these just the words of a Liar, Liar, who is behaving Dumb and Dumber?  The danger is not simply the hatred in Jim Carrey, it’s what he is calling for.

He said Republicans should be removed from office: “These people have to be removed from our system because they’re bad for us.” He is not talking about elections…he is talking armed revolution. And he holds equal hatred and blame for Christians. If he has his way, we too would be purged.

But you say, Jim Carrey has no power to do that! No but something else happened that does have the power. Consider:

Millions of people of a certain faith have just been condemned and threatened. What was the reaction? Was Jim Carrey fired like Rosanne Barr? Imagine what would happen to anyone in Hollywood said, “Islam was never about morality, it’s been about holding on to power and using morality.”

This is not just a double standard, it is a nation that is slowly convincing itself to remove the rights of Christians. Where is the outrage? Calling a duly elected President a cancer and all Republicans rapists is bad enough. But where is the voice of a fair-minded liberal rising up to condemn religious bigotry? You hear crickets because of their tacit approval.

They believe the Bill of Rights must be tractored under for their Socialist Nirvana to arrive. Christianity stands in the way.

Jim Carrey is the court jester spouting the company line, getting laughs from the king, and the people in the great hall. Today’s fallacious and incendiary remarks test the wind. The silence tells us what an ill wind it is.

Day in and day out I obey the Spirit of God. Even when I beg for this mantle to given to someone else—the Lord intensifies the burden—the requirement to prophesy—and I write yet again. Do not turn my words away!

Three days ago, the Lord told me this would come. I know that many Christians don’t want to hear what I have to say. But that does not change reality.  It came just as the Lord told me. Get over your fear and receive from the Lord those things we must do now to protect our loved ones.

Something Paul the Apostle did not do often was resist arrest or protest imprisonment.  But in Acts 16 he did—and for a very good reason.

Paul and Silas are arrested. At midnight they sing praises and an earthquake destroys the prison and all chains are broken and on one is injured.

The stunned magistrates release Paul and Silas the next morning. Now they’re in for a greater shock: But Paul took a stand. He took a stand even though he was free to go.  Look at the verses:

Acts 16: 35 And when it was day, the magistrates sent the officers, saying, “Let those men go.”

36 So the keeper of the prison reported these words to Paul, saying, “The magistrates have sent to let you go. Now therefore depart, and go in peace.”

37 But Paul said to them, “They have beaten us openly, uncondemned Romans, and have thrown us into prison. And now do they put us out secretly? No indeed! Let them come themselves and get us out.”

38 And the officers told these words to the magistrates, and they were afraid when they heard that they were Romans. 39 Then they came and pleaded with them and brought them out, and asked them to depart from the city. 40 So they went out of the prison and entered the house of Lydia; and when they had seen the brethren, they encouraged them and departed.

Why didn’t Paul leave? Why did he enforce his civil rights as a Roman. Because the church in Philippi was in its infancy and Paul saw the tyranny of the city officials. If Paul had left, he would indeed look loving. But he would have left the church unprotected then and in the future. That is what so many pastors are doing now. By refusing to take a stand against the insane threats against the Body of Christ, they are saving their own skin, but abandoning the church.

Paul used Roman Law on the magistrates. It brought fear on them. That fear not only made then back off of Paul, more importantly, it made them back off of the church, and the church’s future.

It is not about what Jim Carrey said today. It is about what will happen to your children and grandchildren if we do not answer his words by using our American rights to lawfully stop the persecution of our faith.

Many preachers today are taking the easy way out and avoiding confrontation. They won’t stand with Trump even though he is battling for religious freedom.  Tyranny is here just like the Lord told me. Obey His voice and take a stand.

TRANSFORM AN ATTACK FROM SATAN INTO AN ATTACK ON SATAN

Are you experiencing the greatest attack of Satan in your body, emotions, or your family?   Don’t just lay there and take it.  Now is the time for decisive action.
Even though I am fighting my way back from the most grueling health issue of my life…I have learned how to turn this attack from Satan into an attack on Satan.
Anyone who knows me can’t imagine me lying in bed for weeks.  Being bedridden is the perfect torment for me.  In the dark of night, Satan tried to torture me with thoughts of paralysis and even death.
Then the Holy Spirit instructed me to boomerang the attack onto Satan.  How do I do that, I wondered?  What I heard next was extremely difficult to accept in my condition—then the presence of God overshadowed me.  Here are the truths God worked into me through this test:
Fact: Satan attacks you because he is mentally deranged.  His attacks are impulsive and not well thought out.  He risks more than we can imagine when he touches a child of God.  His life story is nothing but a string of attacks that backfire.
That is not a comfort when you are facing the cruelest attack ever.  I am certainly not going to trivialize suffering and loss.  Believe me, I have a deep respect for the havoc he can raise, and the pain he can cause.
Fact: By following the Holy Spirit’s instructions we can make the devil’s attack on us an attack on him.   The message Bible has a good rendering of Philippians 1: 12 “I want to report to you, friends, that my imprisonment here has had the opposite of its intended effect. Instead of being squelched, the Message has actually prospered.”
Look again at this phrase: “the opposite of its intended effect.”  How can that mean anything but the attack on Paul turned into an attack on Satan.
When that prison door slammed behind Paul, it was a dark moment.  He had no idea how long he would suffer.  He didn’t know if he’d ever get out alive.  Knowing Paul’s heart, his greatest agony was watching this ordeal shut down the ministry.
You can well imagine what images ran through my mind having to stop about our tent meetings and so many other things we are doing.
Here is what the Holy Spirit taught me to do:
1. I gathered up all of my strength, pointed at Satan and rebuked Him.  I said, “this attack is now an attack on you!”  I confessed that God now owned the situation.  I declared that I was being healed no matter what my circumstances said.
2. Next, I confessed to God that my season of being healed—no matter how long it took—would be a tool of the Holy Spirit for growth, strength, and a greater fighting spirit.
3. But it was the last lesson I learned that was the most significant.  I learned to seek my Father for no other reason other than He is my Father.   I had no idea how much of my past praying was dominated by requests for greater power, or more provision, or for revival.  Noble requests all, but now, in the presence that flooded my room, they seemed so secondary.   Being near to Him meant everything.
Now, in the midst of all of this,  I live in a level of trust, power and clarity I never would have gained except through this great test.  The devil will pay, for the rest of my life, with the lessons I will have learned in this difficult season.  That is why I say with Paul…” I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”  -Romans 8:18

From Sesame Street to Azusa Street

From Sesame Street to Azusa Street

By Mario Murillo

If the modern celebrity preachers of today were the captain of the Titanic they would have told the passengers, “We didn’t hit an iceberg, we stopped to get ice.”  It takes skill to stand on a sinking ship and convince people it is a pleasure cruise.   Some of these deceitful voices claim to be spirit-filled.

I want to drag you from Sesame Street back to Azusa Street.  Playtime and nap time are over.   I am going to use this blog to rebuke extremes in the Spirit-filled movement.  My special wrath is reserved for the Spirit-filled community.  Pentecostal, Charismatic, Spirit-filled, call it what you will. I am directing this to all who trace their roots to the Azusa Street Revival but run their church and take their orders from spiritual gurus who oppose the Holy Spirit.

If you are spirit-filled and you nurse hidden sympathies that there is same sex marriage, limited inspiration of the scripture and no hell, I have news for you. You are not an enlightened renaissance man. You are the plain, garden-variety hypocrite.  It’s time to be honest.  Renounce your roots or return to them.  Quit the charade.

Insert 1

I am being blunt because you are helping keep a false narrative alive and at the same time you are hindering true revival by opposing it.  2 Timothy 4:2-4 says, “Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.”

Why are you emulating these false voices who preach that, “Everything is peachy because God is so into you, so enjoy the happy times?”

insert 2

But what happy times are they talking about?  If you are among those who want Christianity removed from America, then the last 7 years have indeed been amazing.  An impressive string of uninterrupted legal victories for atheists and radical Muslims in the United States has dechristianized marriage, prayer, free speech and all of culture in general.  Korans are in where Bibles are out.  Christian prayer is out in virtually every sporting and civic event.

For the first time, major companies fire leaders simply for being Christian.  Mozilla fired one of their founders, the Golden State Warriors fired a winning coach, and the city of Atlanta fired its fire chief.  Professors routinely threaten and even flunk students for Christian values.  And now the gay lobby is striving to make it illegal to believe that homosexual behavior is sin.

Never in the history of America has church attendance fallen so fast and persecution against believers risen so high.  Never have more pastors been giddier over non-results.  I am sorry to say this but you are in denial if you look at your packed out church and spike the ball while America and the world drown in a sea of Islamic terrorism, atheism, drug addiction, hunger and debauchery.

Yes, some churches are packed out; but like the Titanic, the crowded rooms are a misleading picture.  The boat tilted and people slid into certain ballrooms.  What you don’t see is the floating debris and the masses that fell into the icy sea.  The facts do not lie; mega churches have not had any meaningful effect on America’s steep decline.

We have so many wrong ideas about millennials and we have so much ignorance about Azusa Street!

We hear preachers say “millennials” are too skeptical and cannot handle Bible doctrine.  That is so wrong.   Did you know that Darwin and Karl Marx were more popular at the time of the Azusa Street Revival than he is today?  In fact, fundamentalism was organized at that time to stem the tide of atheism, Marxism, and a worldwide rejection of the Bible.

insert 3

God’s remedy for the dark, disbelieving early 20th Century was to pour out His Spirit.   And that is the answer for today!

Millennials want to deal with racism and social injustice and Pentecostalism is too conservative.  False again!  Azusa Street started the conversation on race long before Eric Holder’s pathetic attempts.   Masses of white believers came to the mission and repented over their racial prejudice.

Another false notion: True Pentecostalism is too legalistic for today.  The accusation of legalism at Azusa Street is a canard!  The good people of the mission may not have danced or worn make up but it had way more to do with a glorious distraction than guilt.  They simply lost interest in vanity and distractions.  By no means did the Holy Ghost make them judgmental.  That came from the next generation who kept the forms but did not experience the fire.

Organic Pentecostalism had great impact on the culture by sweeping millions into a Christian faith that had power, proclaimed victory over habits and trusted the goodness of God to meet every need. To say that this would not work today is to show ignorance of both millennials and history.

Here is the most painful question: Have you looked in the mirror and asked yourself how much suffering you are allowing in recovering drug addicts and those fighting sexual sin by not telling them about the Baptism in the Holy Spirit?

If you repent and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit right now you will indeed lose people, but you will gain an army.  You will lead a congregation rooted in power.  You will not live in the tyranny of the latest church growth gimmick.

What America needs right now is lions in the pulpit, men and women of conviction, full of the Holy Ghost who will, no matter what, obey and declare the full counsel of God.

I have a message from God to You about Your Place in Saving America.

strange blog copy

I have a word from the Lord for you!  I know that because even as I am writing this to you my hand is shaking from the current of His power.  I am sitting here preparing to preach tonight in Martinez California.  Then it hit me that I was supposed to get this out to you right away.

Here is the fire that is overtaking my spirit.  Here is the word of the Lord to you.  Push away doubt, fear and apology.   Reject limits, lies and threats.  Today God will reveal your place in Saving America.  Jesus has targeted you for special ops!

I am sitting here staring at the title for my message tonight:  Your place in saving America.

It begins with specific questions.  What would a revival in the San Francisco Bay Area look like?  In this bastion of liberalism, in this matrix of technology and social networking how would God do it?

These are the questions I will ask and answer tonight!  However, these truths apply no matter where you live!

1. Prophecy trumps policy:  The most urgent step you can take right now is to review the prophetic promises God has made to you.   Caesar Augustus felt powerful but he was manipulated by the prophetic when he ordered the world to register in their hometowns.  He had an echo of power because the real power was using him to get Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem.

Our Caesar Augustus is Barrack Obama.  Sorry if it offends but he is a tyrant on a binge to reshape America.  He is punishing what he perceives is the arrogance and greed of our nation.  He wants to erode everything that makes us exceptional and get us to fall into line with the other nations of the world.   His agenda beyond that is shrouded in mystery and darkness.

How could Augustus have known that one day his throne in Rome would fall to the Nazarene?  In the same way let every anti-God agent in America heed my warning.  Not only is God not done with the Church and our nation, He has not yet begun to fight!

The prophecies about you are greater than the policies that try to control you!  Tonight it will be my thrill to stand and remind those in Northern California of the prophecy that was given to me by none other than Bob Dylan the folk and rock legend himself!   Moments before he called me on the phone God said, “I will pour out of my Spirit on San Francisco.”   Minutes later Bob is on the phone to me and he asks, “Did God tell you He was going to pour out His Spirit on San Francisco Mario?  Well, He is.”   There are no words to describe the power I felt.   Since then amazing miracles have happened by seizing that promise but the best is yet to come!

2. Relevant, essential and supernatural:  1 Corinthians 14: 24 “But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an uninformed person comes in, he is convinced by all, he is convicted by all. 25 And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed; and so, falling down on his face, he will worship God and report that God is truly among you.” Paul asks us, “What kind of impact to you want to have on the outside world?  We think that we are a universe away from revival but in fact, as dark as it may seem and as entrenched as evil looks, Satan’s hold is fragile and tenuous.

Relevant essential miracles overtake the narrative.  No matter how angry people are about rights, policies, liberal and conservative issues, the arrival of miracles stops debate.  It changes the conversation from race, drugs, guns and every other hot button issue to one about the Grace, Mercy, Goodness and Power of Jesus Christ.

God can instantly create things that were not there before and suddenly make the Church essential to those who wanted nothing to do with God!  God instantly created a hunger on the day of Pentecost!  The men in the crowd cried out to Peter, “what should we do?!  He can write new songs that will pierce a jagged generation!  He can impart new methods that

You may feel out of place with much of the religious world right now.  All that means is that you are meant for another place of service altogether.  If you have tried on the armor of Church tradition and it does not fit is because you are a new breed.  You are strangely normal and supernaturally appropriate to this moment when God breaks out in a shocking and irresistible way!

There is Treasure in Your Trial. Notes from video blog.  Check out my special message to you on video  and then check out the notes below.

The Ephesians must have asked Paul “how are you, and how are you doing

“And [pray] also for me, that [freedom of] utterance may be given me, that I may open my mouth to proclaim boldly the mystery of the good news (the Gospel), For which I am an ambassador in a coupling chain [in prison. Pray] that I may declare it boldly and courageously, as I ought to do.  21Now that you may know how I am and what I am doing, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord [and His service], will tell you everything. Ephesians 6:19-21(AMP).

The Ephesians must have asked Paul “how are you, and how are you doing.”  His answer is a treasure map. Here is a formula for success in a brutal environment.

1. What you are is infinitely more important than how you are. “I am an AMBASSADOR in chains.”  I have the unspeakable honor of being the official representative of a Kingdom.  I am a royal, political and military prisoner.”   It is not ease and comfort that make life bearable and it is not trials and tribulations that make life unbearable.  My identity in Christ is more real than anything else.

2. What you are doing is infinitely more important than how you are doing.  You have a daily defining moment. Every day, you must impose your mission on your circumstances. The life that knows it is here on purpose, and for a destiny is unstoppable.

3. Find your voice. “And [pray] also for me, that [freedom of] utterance may be given me.”  He did not ask for freedom from jail but for freedom and boldness to open his mouth in jail.  You may wish you were free, but God has placed you there for miracles.

4. The eternal weight of glory: I am convinced that Paul’s jail time inspired the following verses: 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

When Paul said, “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory”, He had no idea how right he was!  No doubt Satan was elated to see Paul neutralized in jail. However, elation turned to horror. Paul would start writing.  More than half of the New Testament came from Paul’s pen and how can you calculate the wreckage to Lucifer from those writings?  Lift up holy hands and begin to rejoice right where you are.  There is treasure in your trial!

Hell in the Hallway: Handling the Torture of Transition.

hell in the hallway

Hell in the Hallway:  Handling the Torture of Transition.

A wise man once said, “When God closes one door He opens another, but it can be hell in the hallway.”  That private hell is a reality to millions of God’s people around the world.  Transition is everywhere and it seems to be coming faster and fiercer than ever.

Transition is God’s way of telling you that promotion is coming.  However, you and I are interested in the promotion but God is concerned with making us like Christ.

Since He makes the rules let us surrender to the work He wants to do in us in the hallway.

Hebrews 12: 11 “Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. 12 therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, 13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed.”

If you are going through the torture of transition right now there are some rules that you must obey to lessen the pain and shorten your time in the hallway.  I did not make up these rules.  They are not my opinion, they are they universal experience of God’s heroes throughout the ages.

Here are the official rules for handling your hell in the hallway:

1. Leave clean:  Acts 13: 2 “while they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” 3 So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.”

Satan hijacks divine transitions.  Be it a job, friendship, or a church it is urgent that you leave clean.  By that, I mean your departure should be as peaceful and blessed as possible.  Change location but avoid cutting off relationships lest you damage the Kingdom of God.

What should have been a launching out to greater works instead becomes a sordid affair of accusation and division.  Mishandling transition has destroyed vital relationships.  If you look around, you will see that the real barriers to revival are not the evil in the world but offended Christian leaders who cannot work together.

Leave clean or you will take the class over again.   James 1:4 “but let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” Recently, longtime friends who were like family suddenly offered bizarre excuses and then cut off communication.  We love them!   We diligently searched our hearts and we found not a clue of what offended them.   Then it occurred to us that this was a pattern in their life.  Sadly, this will lengthen their time in the hallway and force them to retake this class.

2.  Don’t stare too long at the door that is closing or you will miss the one that God is opening.

Often we think that we should only have a bad reason to make a transition.  God can call for change when things are great and you love the people you are with.  These are the doors that we don’t want to close.  However there is a grave danger of being the last one to leave the party.

1 Samuel 20: 2: “Never!” Jonathan replied. “You are not going to die! Look, my father doesn’t do anything, great or small, without letting me know. Why would he hide this from me? It isn’t so!”3 But David took an oath and said, “Your father knows very well that I have found favor in your eyes, and he has said to himself, ‘Jonathan must not know this or he will be grieved.’ Yet as surely as the Lord lives and as you live, there is only a step between me and death.”

David and Jonathan were best friends but God was calling for change.  Jonathan wanted everyone to be one big happy family in the palace.  Had David given in to his friend he would have been murdered.

God wants to open that new door sooner than you think.  He just wants you to let the hallway do its work.    Ludwig Wittgenstein said, “A man will be imprisoned in a room with a door that’s unlocked and opens inwards; as long as it does not occur to him to pull rather than push.”

Quit pushing for promotion and start pulling on God.
