There should not be one drop of support left for Obama from the American Church.

By Mario Murillo

There should not be one drop of support left for Obama from the American Church.  In fact, it is spiritually dangerous to you to still be stuck in the middle.  Drop the pseudo-spirituality and realize that this is longer about politics, it is about the survival of the United States.

The Arab world is blowing up.  Al Qaeda is at the door of at least 12 of our embassies.  Obama by golfing, schmoozing with Hollywood, joy riding on Air Force One and giving divisive, gas bloated speeches has frittered away our children’s future.  He has lost 9 million jobs.  He has attacked marriage, church, morality, capitalism and the constitution.  He wants babies to die from abortion even until right before they are born. He has violated the constitution and used government agencies to silence his enemies. The news media as his shameful coconspirator granting him quarter from all accountability.  Worst of all, he rammed legislation through that will bankrupt the nation: Obamacare is not just bad it is terminal.

Left there to die

Because of all these things and the fact that Obama is digging in for more of the same he has achieved a new status:  He cannot be supported by the American Church, not one drop of support.  We should be in unanimous opposition.

Here is what the Bible says:

“Proverbs 29:24 “Whoever is a partner with a thief hates his own life; He swears to tell the truth, but reveals nothing.  25 The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.”

The line was crossed when Obama referred to his long list of scandals as phony.   Look at me reader:  Fort Hood, Fast and Furious, Benghazi, IRS, and the NSA, are all phony scandals.   What do every one of these scandals have in common?  They are all scandals that Obama vowed to get to the bottom of.

IRS: Here are his own words about “It’s inexcusable and Americans have a right to be angry about it — and I’m angry about it,” Obama said “The fact of the matter is the IRS has to operate with absolute integrity.” He vowed to get to the bottom of it.  The FBI has yet to speak to any of the Tea Party victims of the IRS.  Obama is stonewalling because the IRS became a weapon for his reelection.

Benghazi: Six months after 4 Americans were tortured and murdered in Benghazi we have not captured a single suspect nor do we know what Obama was doing for 8 hours during the attack.   Remember how much of his actions he wanted us to see during the attack on Osama Bin Laden?

It turns out that CNN interviewed one of the suspects in Benghazi for 2 hours.  He admitted that not one American agency nor the Libyan Government had tried to talk to him.

Remember Obama’s vow on Benghazi?  “But make no mistake: we will get to the bottom of this, we will find out who did this, we’ll find out why they did this.  Any responsible individuals, any responsible groups, will feel the full weight of justice.”

The Bible describes him in vivid detail: “He swears to tell the truth, but reveals nothing.”

Time to ask yourself if by your support or neutrality you are the partner of a thief.  Time for you to consider the trap you may be in:  “The fear of man is a snare.”

billy

People are constantly asking me “what can we do about this?”  I can’t believe that anyone can’t see what we must do!    It is time for the Christian men of God to put on their big boy pants and realize that we must all speak against this evil cloud over the nation.   We cannot be black, white brown or yellow.  We cannot be liberal of conservative.  We cannot be left or right wing and there is not exemption in time of war.

If the church spoke with one voice right now we could stop the madness within a few months.  It should be convicting to us all that Billy Graham as weak and as frail as he is in his 90s is still going to drag his body behind a pulpit and issue a warning to the nation!

big boy pants

If he is willing to do that then how much more it is time for all of you Christian men of God to put on your big boy pants and speak out against this evil cloud over the nation?

If you are silent because you fear danger then wake up!  The only safety now is to get on the Lord’s side!  “The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.”

U.N. passes sweeping international arms regulation viewed by some as Second Amendment override

By David Sherfinski

The Washington Times

Tuesday, April 2, 2013

. The United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday signed off on a sweeping, first-of-its-kind treaty to regulate the international arms trade, brushing aside worries from U.S. gun rights advocates that the pact could lead to a national firearms registry and disrupt the American gun market.

The long-debated U.N. Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) requires countries to regulate and control the export of weaponry such as battle tanks, combat vehicles and aircraft and attack helicopters, as well as parts and ammunition for such weapons. It also provides that signatories will not violate arms embargoes, international treaties regarding illicit trafficking, or sell weaponry to a countries for genocide, crimes against humanity or other war crimes.

With the Obama administration supporting the final treaty draft, the General Assembly vote was 154 to 3, with 23 abstentions.

American gun rights activists, though, insist the treaty is riddled with loopholes and is unworkable in part because it includes “small arms and light weapons” in its list of weaponry subject to international regulations. They do not trust U.N. assertions that the pact is meant to regulate only cross-border trade and would have no impact on domestic U.S. laws and markets.

Critics of the treaty were heartened by the U.S. Senate’s resistance to ratifying the document, assuming President Obama sent it to the chamber for ratification. In its budget debate late last month, the Senate approved a nonbinding amendment opposing the treaty offered by Sen. James M. Inhofe, Oklahoma Republican, with eight Democrats joining all 45 Republicans backing the amendment

Connecticut lawmakers announced a deal Monday on what they called some of the toughest gun laws in the country that were proposed after the December mass shooting at a school in Newtown. Some highlights from the proposal:

—Ban sales of high-capacity ammunition magazines;

—Background checks for private gun sales;

—New registry for existing magazines that carry 10 or more bullets;

—Statewide dangerous weapon offender registry, which lawmakers said is the nation’s first;

—Immediate universal background checks for all firearms sales;

—Expansion of Connecticut’s assault weapons ban;

—Safety training and other requirements to buy any rifle, shotgun or ammunition;

—Increases minimum age eligibility for purchase of some semi-automatic rifles to 21;

— Expands requirements for safe storage of firearms;

— Increases penalties for firearms trafficking and illegal possession offenses.

And it gets even more stupid…

California lawmakers consider regulating, taxing ammunition

Gun control advocates in Sacramento are putting a new twist on an old NRA slogan: “Guns don’t kill people — bullets kill people.”

Democratic lawmakers are pushing like never before to regulate or tax ammunition sales. They say the logic is simple: A firearm is nothing but an expensive paperweight without ammunition.

“We regulated gun sales because of our concern about safety, (so) by logical extension we should do so with bullets,” said state Assemblywoman Nancy Skinner, D-Berkeley, whose AB48 will be heard Tuesday by the Assembly Public Safety Committee.

Gun-rights advocates are preparing a counter-offensive, arguing that ammunition-control bills are a not-so-back-door assault on the Second Amendment.

“It’s a way to red-tape the right to bear arms to death,” said Chuck Michel, the California Rifle and Pistol Association’s attorney, promising to sue if any such bills pass. “It’s all part of a campaign of shame, the fight to make it as difficult as possible for law-abiding citizens to make the choice to have a firearm for self-defense.”

As lawmakers mull how to curb gun violence in the wake of December’s massacre of school children in Newtown, Conn., some note that California and federal laws also forbid those who aren’t allowed to own firearms from owning ammunition — but there’s no way to tell who’s buying it.

Skinner’s bill would require all ammo dealers to be licensed and all ammo buyers to provide

identification information that would go to a state registry. The registry could then be compared with a state database of people prohibited from owning guns and ammo because of crimes, mental health issues or other reasons. It also would tip police to massive purchases. Another bill, SB53 by state Sen. Kevin de Leon, D-Los Angeles, would require a background check and an estimated $50 fee for a one-year permit to buy ammunition. Bills in Congress similarly would require dealer licensing or buyer background checks, but those are no doubt dead on arrival in the Republican-led House.

Only Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey and the District of Columbia now require some sort of license to buy ammunition. New York passed a law in January requiring background checks for ammo purchases, but it hasn’t taken effect yet.

So even in California, where guns are heavily regulated, you can walk into a store, show ID to prove you’re at least 18 (or for handgun ammunition, 21), plunk down your money and walk out with a box of cartridges. Easier yet, you can buy all you want online.

Gun shops report ammo is flying off the shelves as gun owners worry about proposed new laws.

Assemblyman Rob Bonta said his AB187 — a

10 percent tax on ammunition to fund crime prevention — might merge with another lawmaker’s proposed nickel-per-round tax to fund mental-health screening for children. Bonta, D-Oakland, said his tax is mostly about generating money to “combat the gun violence in our communities,” but could have the “secondary benefit” of stemming “rampant sales.” Yet he acknowledged it won’t be easy to pass, even with Democratic legislative supermajorities and recent Field Poll findings that 61 percent of California voters favor ammunition taxes and 75 percent favor background checks and permits for ammo purchases.

Because a new tax faces the hurdle of a two-thirds vote, “it’s a heavy lift,” Bonta said.

Some Democratic state lawmakers aren’t eager to discuss the bills. Of eight — five assemblymen and three state senators — who scored above zero on the National Rifle Association’s 2012 scorecard, only state Sen. Jim Beall, D-San Jose, would be interviewed for this story.

Beall said he’s not yet very familiar with the legislation but sees little reason for a state ammunition bureaucracy that would cost taxpayers money to create and maintain. “A lot of those bills probably won’t get through the Appropriations Committee” while education is a funding priority, he said.

California’s 2009 law requiring dealers to record all handgun ammunition sales remains in limbo after an appeals court ruled that it’s too ambiguous because some rounds can be used both in handguns and rifles. The bills now pending would affect all ammunition.

Mike Smith, co-owner of The Gun Works in Pleasant Hill, said the proposed bills would drown sellers in paperwork but have “zero” effect on crime because “criminals don’t buy ammunition; they steal it.”

As for the proposed ammo tax, he said, gun owners shouldn’t be compelled to pay extra for crime prevention.

“Bonta replied that firearms and ammunition taxes date back to 1919 and are “a perfectly responsible way to fund emergency services.”

“AB187 is on the right side of history.”

Proposed ammunition laws

In the California Legislature:

AB 48 by Assemblywoman Nancy Skinner, D-Berkeley — Would require ammunition sellers to be licensed; ammunition purchasers to show identification; ammunition sellers to report all sales to the state Justice Department, which would create a registry of ammunition purchases. First hearing: April 2.
AB 187 by Assemblyman Rob Bonta, D-Oakland — Would impose a 10 percent tax on all ammunition sold in the state, with the revenue directed to a fund for crime-prevention efforts in the state’s high-crime areas. No hearing date set.
AB 760 by Assemblyman Roger Dickinson, D-Sacramento — Would impose a 5-cent tax on each bullet sold in California, dedicating the revenue to an existing program to screen young children for mild to moderate mental illness — and intervene with strategies to address their problems. First hearing: April 15.
SB 53 by state Sen. Kevin de Leon, D-Los Angeles — Would require anyone buying ammunition to first pass a background check and receive a one-year permit, for an estimated $50 fee, from the state Justice Department. First hearing: April 16.

In Congress:

S.35, the Stop Online Ammunition Sales Act of 2013, by Sen. Frank Lautenberg, D-N.J. — Would require face-to-face purchases of ammunition, require licensing of ammunition dealers and reporting of bulk purchases of ammunition. A companion bill in the House, HR142, is sponsored by Rep. Carolyn McCarthy, D-N.Y.
S.174, the Ammunition Background Check Act of 2013, by Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn. — Would require an instant background check for the purchase of ammunition and would restore pre-1986 requirements that sellers track their inventory and keep records of their customers. Purchases of 1,000 rounds or more, or thefts of large amounts of ammunition, would have to be reported to law enforcement.

Time

Mario’s note:  The stupidity is not in the lawmakers.  They already know that none of these laws will prevent another Sandy Hook, or Batman shooting.  They know that they cannot waste a good crisis that can be used as an excuse to enlarge their control of the people.

Stupidity is in the willful ignorance of the general public on this and so many other power grabs that are going on right now.  People can get the facts and arm themselves with information.

Stupidity believes the Government defends rights.  Not a day goes by where we do not lose another right.  Government has no other skill but to invent rights in order to take away even more rights and to make sure that the right they are defending is not a right at all.  In the name of freedom, government takes away freedom and leaves a false freedom in its place.

Stupidity believes that government agencies today are looking out for our good.  Obamacare will make insurance worse, doctors worse, patient care worse and add misery to the poor.  From this point on everything that comes out of Washington is going to cost you more and give you less in return.   The only condition that is going to improve is the power and control of government.

Stupidity is supposing that either political party today is committed to your welfare.  Both sides of the aisle have caved into the larger momentum of government regulation of the everything we watch on television, hear on radio and soon they will tax and control the internet.

Stupidity is when Christians believe that a minister should not be speaking out because it is political .  What is happening to America left the world of politics on September 11, 2001.  At the very least a preacher of conscience would be calling the nation to repent and the believer to be strong against real enemies and not the imagined ones they blather about in their pulpits.

Wisdom gathers information, speaks up and fears not because God is in us and He will work through us.  Wisdom demands that every Christian demand that their church confront the issue of America and what is happening to our freedoms.er

Wayne LaPierre, CEO of the powerful National Rifle Association, will tell a Senate panel on Wednesday that the federal government should not enact any new gun-control laws.

NRA’s LaPierre blasts Obama’s inaugural speech

“Law-abiding gun owners will not accept blame for the acts of violent or deranged criminals,” LaPierre is scheduled to tell the Senate Judiciary Committee.

“Nor do we believe the government should dictate what we can lawfully own and use to protect our families,” he added.

The NRA released LaPierre’s opening remarks on Tuesday. Also scheduled to testify is Mark Kelly, husband of former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.), who was severely wounded two years ago in a mass shooting that left six people dead and more than a dozen wounded. Giffords, who retired from Congress a year ago, and Kelly, a retired astronaut, have since become gun-control advocates.

(Also on POLITICO: Senate gears up for battle over guns)

But LaPierre is by far the most controversial witness, as the NRA has called for armed security guards at all of the country’s schools following the shooting in Newtown, Conn.

“While we’re ready to participate in a meaningful effort to solve these pressing problems, we must respectfully — but honestly and firmly — disagree with some members of this committee, many in the media, and all of the gun control groups on what will keep our kids and our streets safe,” he will state.

“Proposals that would only serve to burden the law-abiding have failed in the past and will fail in the future.”

(Also on POLITICO: W.H. gun push narrows to background checks)

LaPierre said the government must work to enforce gun laws already on the books, prosecute criminals who misuse firearms, and review the “full range of mental health issues” associated with gun violence.

“We need to be honest about what works and what does not work. Proposals that would only serve to burden the law-abiding have failed in the past and will fail in the future,” he will testify.

He denied that universal background checks would curb crime, arguing that “criminals will never submit to them.”

“But there are things that can be done and we ask you to join with us,” LaPierre will say. “The NRA is made up of millions of Americans who support what works … the immediate protection for all — not just some — of our school children; swift, certain prosecution of criminals with guns; and fixing our broken mental health system.”

Danny Glover to University students: “Second Amendment was created to protect slavery.”

Glover blog

Read this first!!

I am asking you  to read the account of Danny Glover’s incendiary remarks about the Second Amendment and even look at the video where he says that it was designed to protect slavery.   In fact, the Second Amendment does the very opposite of what he says, it protects us from becoming slaves to the government!

Before you read it I want to ask you to read this important message:

Why are you doing this Mario?  Why the relentless stream of articles and comments against the current agenda in the United States?   Simple answer: YOU MUST BE WARNED!

Mario why are you taking on so much?  My answer: because my timid colleagues have taken on so little.  America is racing toward an immediate future where personal freedom is plowed under by the blind worship of government.

Today’s warning comes from Abraham Lincoln who said, “What is taught in the classroom today will be the government of tomorrow.”  What I am warning you is that tomorrow is already here.

Think about it: Texas A&M resides in the most pro-gun state in the Union and they are loudly and boldly pushing for a change or outright removal of the U.S. Constitution starting with the Second Amendment.  Ask yourself, “If that is what universities are saying in Texas, what is going on in the rest of the nation’s college and university classrooms?

Here is what is going on: Georgetown University constitutional law professor Louis Michael Seidman said, “As the nation teeters at the edge of fiscal chaos, observers are reaching the conclusion that the American system of government is broken. But almost no one blames the culprit: our insistence on obedience to the Constitution, with all its archaic, idiosyncratic and downright evil provisions.”

Students across America are being taught as if it were fact that we need to remove the U.S Constitution in order to progress as a nation.

What the video shows is an aging actor taking leave of his senses and being treated as if he were some insightful sage on the subject of the Second Amendment.  Danny Glover has spewed many strange things in the past but this, hands down is his most outrageous flirtation with insanity.

Danny Glover is being taken seriously by Texas A&M which refuses to allow opposing voices.  This demonstrates where higher education is in our nation.

Okay, sit down and try to absorb this statement: Sandy Hook Massacre was a horrific tragedy that has been hijacked to sway the nation to remove the second amendment from the constitution;  not by outright amputation but by a thousand paper cuts.  Once again let me say that the Second Amendment is a firewall that stops government from taking over the people and their freedoms.

We are being systemically prepared for the day when America has no bill of rights.  Laugh, scoff or deny it, but it is a fact, and it is a fact that will affect every Pastor, Christian and all future generations.

Perhaps the greatest threat to American Christian comes from within our own ranks:  On the one hand there are those that use end time prophecy to be passive about these events because in their mind there is nothing we can do about it and it is supposed to happen. The other threat is the current abuse of Grace that stretches the truth so far that Christians are left apathetic to do anything to bring revival and especially repentance to our nation.

My take is that we can do something about it, that God wants us to act and that we will have no one to blame but ourselves if we do not.

The Constitution’s Second Amendment was created to bolster slavery and capture land from Native Americans, award winning actor Danny Glover told a group of students at a Texas A&M sponsored event on Thursday.

Actor Danny Glover told students at Texas A&M University the intent of the Second Amendment was to protect slavery.

“I don’t know if you know the genesis of the right to bear arms,” he said. “The Second Amendment comes from the right to protect themselves from slave revolts, and from uprisings by Native Americans.”

“A revolt from people who were stolen from their land or revolt from people whose land was stolen from, that’s what the genesis of the second amendment is,” he continued.

Glover, best known for roles in the “Lethal Weapon” franchise and “Angels in the Outfield,” was addressing students at an event being held in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Director of Texas A&M’s Memorial Student Center, Luke Altendorf, told Campus Reform on Friday that the university was unaware of Glover’ talking points prior to his speech.

“I had no idea, we really didn’t know that topic was coming up,” he told Campus Reform. “Someone was asking a question about activism, I think that’s where some of that came from.”

Altendorf declined to say if, or how much the school had paid for Glover’s speech, but said student fees were not used.

WATCH: Danny Glover says the Second Amendment was crafted by America’s founding fathers to protect slavery

“We didn’t feel those speakers you are referring to are bad decisions on these topics because we want to foster discussion,” he said.

The video recording of the event was captured by members of a student group, the Texas Aggie Conservatives (TAC). That group has also created an online petition blasting Texas A&M for its speaker selections.

Eric Schroeder, chairman of the conservative group, called the event “outrageous.”

“It should be a time for real reflection and respect,” he said referring to the memorial breakfast for King. “Instead, the university pushes a political agenda.”

Schroeder also called on university President Bowen Loftin to make up for the event by inviting a conservative speaker of equal star power.

“We expect President Loftin to stand by his commitment to diversity and fully support our efforts to bring in a conservative speaker to provide an alternative to Mr. Glover’s far left message” said Schroeder.

Obama Using Gun issue to advance Obamacare

Obama alongside children

Obama using gun issue to advance health law

By Stephen Dinan

President Obama is using the national debate over gun violence to push for further action on his health care law, including insisting on the kind of mental health coverage states must provide under their Medicaid programs.

Mr. Obama, unveiling his gun proposals Wednesday barely a month after the deadly school shooting in Newtown, Conn., will make it clear that his health law, known as the Affordable Care Act, allows doctors to ask patients whether they have guns in their homes, and will tell them they are able to report any threats of violence they hear to police.

The president also will lay out the mental health coverage that all insurers will be required to provide under his signature-achievement law.

Those are some of the 23 executive actions Mr. Obama plans to take whether or not Congress acts on his broader recommendations, the White House said.

Other moves including offering incentives for schools to hire police; finally naming a new director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF); and requiring federal authorities to trace all guns recovered in their criminal investigations.

Mr. Obama also will call on his secretaries of education and health and human services to hold a national dialogue on mental health.

The entire list of the actions Mr. Obama is taking comprises:

1. Issue a presidential memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system

2. Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system.

3. Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system.

4. Direct the attorney general to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.

5. Propose rule-making to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun.

6. Publish a letter from ATF to federally licensed gun dealers providing guidance on how to run background checks for private sellers.

7. Launch a national safe and responsible gun ownership campaign.

8. Review safety standards for gun locks and gun safes (Consumer Product Safety Commission).

9. Issue a presidential memorandum to require federal law enforcement to trace guns recovered in criminal investigations.

10. Release a Department of Justice report analyzing information on lost and stolen guns and make it widely available to law enforcement.

11. Nominate a new director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

12. Provide law enforcement, first-responders, and school officials with proper training for active shooter situations.

13. Maximize enforcement efforts to prevent gun violence and prosecute gun crime.

14. Issue a presidential memorandum directing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to research the causes and prevention of gun violence.

15. Direct the attorney general to issue a report on the availability and most effective use of new gun-safety technologies and challenge the private sector to develop innovative technologies.

16. Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors from asking their patients about guns in their homes.

17. Release a letter to health care providers clarifying that no federal law prohibits them from reporting threats of violence to law enforcement authorities.

18. Provide incentives for schools to hire school-resource officers.

19. Develop model emergency response plans for schools, houses of worship and institutions of higher education.

20. Release a letter to state health officials clarifying the scope of mental health services that Medicaid plans must cover.

21. Finalize regulations clarifying essential health benefits and parity requirements within ACA exchanges.

22. Commit to finalizing mental-health parity regulations.

23. Launch a national dialogue led by Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Education Secretary Arne Duncan on mental health.

Compelling video on gun rights by a young woman. A Congressman will impeach Obama.

This is the best video ever defending the second amendment.  Watch liberal politicians cringe like vampires at sunrise as an eloquent young woman delivers a devastating defense of gun rights and the best explanation of the second amendment.

Texas Republican Rep. Steve Stockman threatened Monday afternoon that he would file articles of impeachment against President Barack Obama if he institutes gun control measures with an executive order.

Stockman warned that such executive orders would be “unconstitutional” and “infringe on our constitutionally-protected right to keep and bear arms.”

“I will seek to thwart this action by any means necessary, including but not limited to eliminating funding for implementation, defunding the White House, and even filing articles of impeachment,” Stockman said in a statement.

At his press conference Monday, Obama floated the possibility of using executive action to enact policies aimed at reducing gun violence.

The freshman congressman, who served one term in Congress in the mid-1990s, further labeled the possibility “an existential threat to this nation” because, he said, the purpose of the Second Amendment is to allow the people to protect themselves from tyranny.

“Any proposal to abuse executive power and infringe upon gun rights must be repelled with the stiffest legislative force possible,” he added. “Under no circumstances whatsoever may the government take any action that disarms any peaceable person — much less without due process through an executive declaration without a vote of Congress or a ruling of a court.”

He concluded by claiming that an executive order would be not just “not just an attack on the Constitution,” but also an “attack on Americans.”

“If the president is allowed to suspend constitutional rights on his own personal whims, our free republic has effectively ceased to exist,” he said

Do As the Occasion Demands

New year message art

Do as the occasion demands: How Ministries and Christians must change the way the relate to government and the people in 2013.

1 Samuel 10: 6 Says, “Then the Spirit of the Lord will come upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man. 7 And let it be, when these signs come to you, that you do as the occasion demands; for God is with you.

It is not right for a mainstream ministry to speak out against the government.  It is foolish for a ministry to drop its schedule and just stay in one city.  It is not appropriate for a ministry to rebuke lukewarm churches.   All of these statements may have been true at one time but suddenly, the rules have changed.  NOW WE MUST DO WHAT THE OCCASION DEMANDS.

Never have I set ink to paper with a more sober heart.  Never have I approached a New Year with a deeper burden.  Our nation, the nation that you love and I love is slipping through our fingers at a rate of loss that would have been deemed impossible before now.

We have lived to see the America we once knew taken away from us and it happened overnight.   Because America has changed ministries must change the way that they relate to this new nation.

Government has become our national God.    It is alarming how Americans are giving their freedoms away to this new God of America.  Washington has been hijacked by a party that worships government.

Michael Medved described the grave danger of Government worship: “There’s the inevitable tendency of any fanatical faith to despise and distrust all religious alternatives: liberalism can be a jealous god.  In the wake of Obama’s reelection, unreasoning reliance on federal power distorts our politics far more destructively than simple-minded faith in God.”

This new God is waging an incremental war on the Constitution.   On December 28th, The New York Times called the U.S. Constitution an evil document that we should give up on.

Obamacare targets the first Amendment.  There is no fear or hesitation to remove freedom of worship.  Obamacare forces Christian Institutions to offer morning after pills to patients or employees in violation of their religious convictions.  Cardinal Dolan the spiritual leader of the Archdiocese of New York said this was “an unwarranted, unprecedented radical intrusion.”

The White House actually told Catholic Cardinals and Bishops to shut up and accept the mandate:  Cardinal Dolan and several Bishops met with the White House to try to resolve the issue.   He said it was a chilling meeting where he was told to “shut up and accept the mandate.”

If Obamacare became the excuse to violate freedom of religion then the massacre in Newtown Connecticut is the excuse to remove the second amendment.  As horrifying as this massacre was it is not justification for the government to disarm private citizens.  The deity of D.C. is not interested in stopping school massacres but of controlling our daily lives.

Thomas Jefferson and James Madison did not protect gun ownership for hunting and target practice or even self-defense.  They had something much bigger in mind. The entire bill of rights was created to keep us from being enslaved to government.  Jefferson, said, “When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.”

They also knew that government would never fear a people without guns.  They believed that the greatest threat to liberty was not foreign invasion or domestic unrest but rather a standing army and a militarized police force that had no fear of inflicting tyranny upon the people.

Mahatma Gandhi the great pacifist said, “Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the act of depriving a whole nation of arms, as the blackest.”

Government is the new God but Celebrity is our new pastor.

Ben Stein asked, “Where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren’t allowed to worship God?  There are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.”

Hollywood is the most powerful propaganda machine in history.   “We as a society are becoming overly preoccupied with celebrities and the fantasy images it evokes,” says James Houran, a psychologist with the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.

After surveying more than 600 people, Houran’s team of researchers from universities in the United States and Britain recently identified a psychiatric condition they have dubbed “celebrity worship syndrome.” It’s an unhealthy interest in the lives of the rich and fabulous. According to the researchers, about a third of us have it to some degree.  These celebrities almost without exception support and promote the agenda of Washington.

In 2013, ministries and Christians must change how they relate to America.

Samuel said it best:  The Spirit of the Lord will come upon you and you will be changed into another man. 7 And let it be, when these signs come to you, that you do as the occasion demands; for God is with you.

Here is what I believe the occasion demands:

1. The Holy Spirit wants show us that we can publicly oppose the tranny our government while still maintaining a loving witness.  Acts 16: 37 But Paul said to them, “They have beaten us openly, uncondemned Romans, and have thrown us into prison. And now do they put us out secretly? No indeed! Let them come themselves and get us out.”  Paul had just led a jailor and several prisoners to Christ and now he turns around and exposes politicians who have broken the Roman Bill of Rights.

Happy New Year!
