Do you deserve a second chance?

By Mario Murillo

 Sunday November 2, 2014

A wise man once said of a fool, “One day he will realize he lost a diamond while playing with worthless stones.”

We can all look back at something we lost because, at the time, we did not know how precious it was.  Now it is priceless.  We have lost dreams, friends and even family and if we are sincere we can admit that we played with worthless stones and let a diamond slipped through our fingers.

The question is not can we get it back but are we worthy of a second chance?

final blog 5

On June 19, 2012 I wrote these words about a night in the Santa Rosa Fire:

“My hand trembles writing this to you!  My heart races at the possibilities!  To God be the glory!  The meeting begins as harmless as any other gathering until the first note of the first song and then you know!  You know that you are in a place that is only partially connected to earth.

Last night the people violently took the message to their hearts about the 4 lepers.  I told them that these lepers crossed the desert in search of food nothing else.  They crossed into the camp of the Syrians looking for a blessing but left to change a nation.

I said to the capacity crowd that is exactly who you are.  You are people who came for a blessing but found out that Jesus has something infinitely greater in mind for you, your family and this city.

I am seeing things that I have only read about in histories of revival.  The zeal, the force of faith and the total submission to Christ is overpowering in this place.  This is supposed to be smug, independent, godless California.  You would never know it!

Person after person who was riddled with pain takes the bold step of faith and charges around the church demonstrating their healing!  Spines, eyes ears, kidneys, lungs, hearts, arms, legs, every part of the body has been healed of everything from cancer to migraine headaches…many of the healings last night were young people and children!

Today these words haunt me because I know why I wrote them.  They were my accurate record of meetings that were beyond wonderful.  Today I am back in Santa Rosa for a second chance.

Here is what I have learned about second chances.  Seconds chances are not about grace or works.  It is about God seeing if we are the kind of person that would waste a second chance. Those who are granted second chances must be brutally honest.  Here are two vital insights to second chances.

1. To deserve a second chance you must learn from your mistakes. Obvious isn’t it?  If we do not know what we did wrong we will do it again.   I learned that I gave up too easily.

I now see that there were many things that we could have done to keep the fire going and growing.  There were plenty of creative God ideas available that will help us protect revival in the future.

IMAG1417

I learned that I cannot be afraid to offend if it protects revival.  Now I know that I would handle this kind of situation completely different.

When you know what mistakes you made you must move on to see why you made those mistakes.

2. People do not give up on something because it became too hard but because it was no longer worth it to them. In This is a key to why we made our mistakes.  This can be made obvious by taking a simple test. Look back at the reasons you stopped pursuing revival. It was fatigue from keeping a demanding schedule.  Now that fatigue seems unimportant because we so  see so clearlly that it was worth the price.

Today I am looking for a second chance for the Fire of God to engulf Santa Rosa.  Join us for something amazing.

Taking Back Stolen Fire!

Something

Taking Back Stolen Fire!

By Mario Murillo

Santa Rosa saw a true revival.   When people from a hundred mile radius commute almost every day for 15 weeks and crowd out the church well before starting time, it is revival.  When healings go off like fireworks in every part of a meeting hall and sinners coming sobbing to the front by the score every night, it is revival.

What was my personal highlight of the Santa Rosa Fire?  It was that moment of unity over breakfast with pastors at the famous Church of the One Tree.  This was one of the most supernaturally orchestrated gatherings ever.

My spiritual father Ralph Wilkerson lives 450 miles south of Santa Rosa, and yet he got a word from God that if the pastors of Santa Rosa would meet in the Church of the One Tree, God would fall on the region.  This Church was constructed entirely from one Redwood Tree in 1870 and was made world famous by Ripley’s Believe or Not.   The building is owned by Santa Rosa and was moved to Juilliard city park.

Pastor Steve Puleo knowing nothing about the message from Ralph Wilkerson felt led to reserve this church and was about to tell us when we told him about the word from the Lord.  I can’t tell you how we rejoiced at this miracle!

The date was set for Thursday August 30, 2012.  Here is the letter that went out:

Dear Church, Ministry, and Business Leader,

“In response to the ongoing revival services with Mario Murillo, now in its ninth consecutive week, churches in Santa Rosa will be hosting a regional prayer breakfast for pastors and business leaders. This gathering will take place on Thursday, August 30th at 8:30 am, and is located at the historic Church Of One Tree in Juilliard Park in Santa Rosa. Mario will address this sustained move of God and its implications to this region and beyond. This is a significant opportunity to unite under the banner of God’s Kingdom will, and join our hearts in prayer for a move of God that will revive the Church and transform our culture for the glory of His Son.”

Pictured above is the historic gathering in the the Church of the one Tree.  It was a glorious time of rejoicing and burying hatchets.  Our hearts burned with unity and faith.  We knew that the revival would now rage into a regional awakening embracing all races and crossing denominational lines…but, the thing is, it didn’t.

Evangelists are rarely this candid so listen up!    Satan rose up and blunted what could have been a historic turning for millions.  There are 3 reasons that the Santa Rosa Fire did not reach its destiny:

  1. It is a mystery
  2. I can’t tell you yet
  3. Some leaders felt threatened

frightening people copy

However this blog is not about correcting leaders.  It is about a work that Christ has done in me to bring me back to Santa Rosa.   When Satan robs you, you have to take it back!   I should have known better than to simply walk away.

There is no such thing as a revival that is not challenged by Lucifer.  He is insulted and threatened by revival.  Revival affects him like nothing else.   He rages against it.

Jesus gave me 1 Samuel 30: 8 So David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”

I am asking the soldiers of Northern California to come join me for a fresh outpouring tomorrow in Santa Rosa!

America, today in a very real way, we are all from Santa Rosa.  If this weekend becomes what I believe it will become, revivalists across the land will be ignited to recapture any fire that the enemy has stolen.

Week 9 explodes in the building but something astounding happened outside.

The 9th week exploded inside the building but something astounding happened outside the building.

Last night in Santa Rosa we began week 9 of this historic visitation of God.  Once again an overflow crowd came hungry and eager for more of Jesus.  By now you would think these people would be fatigued.  Instead, they are even more on fire than ever.

That is the key word: More!  They brought even more friends and loved ones.  The power and presence of God was even more intense.  The conviction of sin was even more evident.  The altar call was even more immediate and the harvest was great as souls seeking Christ flowed forward and filled the front of the church.

The healings were more abundant.  In one case, a woman was picked from the crowd and told everything that was happening to her joints, heart and lungs.  A surge of power flashed through her body and she said that all of her pain left.

Another healing sent a collective gasp throughout the audience.  A woman was told about 17 conditions that were in her body.  This moment left no room for doubt.  She took off and demonstrated how she was dramatically healed.

However, something more happened!  This miracle is one of the most historic signs of revival.  Let me give you the back story first.   My spiritual father is Ralph Wilkerson, the famed pastor of Melodyland Christian Center, which was once one of the largest churches in the nation.  He brought Kathryn Kuhlman and David Wilkerson to the West Coast.  He is considered the father of the Charismatic Revival.  Now in his 80s, he continues to have a razor sharp mind and a prophetic spirit.

Unable to reach me, he somehow he got pastor Larry King’s private cell number.  He began to excitedly tell Larry a word from the Lord about the Santa Rosa Fire.  20 years ago, Ralph preached a sermon in Los Angeles about the Church of the One Tree in Santa Rosa.  This historic church is famous because it is constructed entirely from the wood of one Redwood Tree in 1870.   It is downtown and owned by the Park and Recreations Department of Santa Rosa.  God reminded Ralph of this sermon and said,  “Call Mario and tell the leaders of Santa Rosa that if they will meet together and pray in this church the fire will spread to the whole region.

Here comes the astounding part:  Steve Puleo who is a staff Pastor at Vertical Call Church, knew nothing about Ralph’s prophetic word when got it in his heart to contact the Park and Rec Dept. and ask to rent this famed church for the leaders to pray.  When we found out that he made the reservation, you can well imagine the glory that coursed through our spirits.  So, on Thursday August 30, 2012, Pastors and leaders are going to obey this prophetic word and meet at the Church of the One Tree!   Here is the actual letter:

Here we go again. The Spirit of God falls on Santa Rosa

The Bible speaks of “the day of vengeance of our God.”  Pentecost Sunday in Santa Rosa was a day that God seemed to be having vengeance on the powers of darkness in Santa Rosa!  You better sit down because here we go again!  A mighty outpouring of God has come to Santa Rosa.   God began to heal cancer and every other disease with a vengeance.  Power was so deeply present that fear came on my soul.  Heaven was trouncing the earth!

Here we go again.  The Spirit of God falls mightily in Santa Rosa.  Just when the devil thought that Clearlake was a fluke we have another explosion of miracles in a Northern California church.  We went  to Living Word Family Church for two services yesterday.  Now we are faced with the fact that another undeniable outpouring has started.

Pastors Larry and Janice King , along with intercessors in their congregation at Living Word Family Church have been storming heaven for 7 years for awakening.  God chose of all days, Pentecost Sunday to answer their prayer!

From the jump it was obvious that the audience was filled with expectancy.  A capacity crowd filled the sanctuary on what was also Memorial day weekend, notorious for wreaking havoc on church attendance.  From the looks on the people’s faces it would not matter if we were trying to have a meeting on Christmas morning.  They were hungry, they were on fire…they were ready.

All day long miracles took place.  I am not sure that I have ever seen so many people healed so quickly and so totally.  The Holy Spirit drove me to a woman  I asked her to stand.  The next thing I know, the Holy Spirit says, “there are so many things wrong in this woman’s body that you must speak quickly to get to all of them.”  As I mentioned each disease she would say, “yes.” I was amazed that the word coming forth mentioned a disease for virtually every part of her body and every vital organ in her body.  The whole audience observed in stunned amazement as Jesus reconstructed her.  Moments before, walking without pain and agonizing restrictions would have been out of the question.  Now it was all gone, she could walk, bend, breathe, twist and then she rocked the house by running!

When the meeting seemed to be ending, a woman stood and interrupted the crowd.  “I am not leaving until you pray for my niece!” She yelled.  God told me in the calmest voice, “it’s okay, pray for her, she has brain cancer.”  A power surge hit the whole building and no one could deny it.  It was indeed brain cancer and now all possibility of doubt left the building.

We tried again to end the meeting but God was not through yet!  My heart and mind were so dominated by Christ that I felt I had lost all personal opinion on anything.  By the Spirit, I asked a man in the back to stand.  I told him that he was concerned for the little girl seated near him.  It was his granddaughter who looked about 4 years old.  Then I told him that God wanted to heal him first.  Once again, a list of conditions poured forth by the mercy of God.  Back, neck, arms, legs, heart, lungs all come under the focus of Jesus.  We found out later that this man was in a motorcycle crash that sent him off of a cliff.  Now all of the pain, the damage from the wreck, plus the heart condition was swallowed up in a surge of power.

I said, “now pick up your granddaughter,” the power began to flow through her little body.  There was not a dry eye in the house as this grandfather wrapped his arms around  his granddaughter suffering with severe rheumatoid arthritis. Healing virtue radiated from both of them.

This report barely scratches the surface of what happened last night including the souls that were saved.  We are now seeking God for the next step in what we know will be a massive outreach of souls in Santa Rosa…again, stay tuned many more amazing reports are coming soon!
